"Thank you. I'll inform are Secretary of State of your pending application. And yes, Devonta is a democracy. To be exact we are a Constitutional Republic. Quite a large one too. If you count our territories and commonwealths we represent about 1.3 Billion citizens. Devonta covers over 2,000,000 kilometers so I do imagine we are much larger then Aavalonia. May i ask your're nations form of governance?"

"Currently we are a Monarchy, but with the change of birth rates over the last several decades we are becoming a Matriarchal Power, serving under the King. Your land is certainly larger than ours and we are seeking ways of reclaiming land from the sea to increase living space, we do have a few ideas in that direction."

"Monarchies okay as long as it well meaning, I assume the King rules with a even hand? And we have a few territories that are open for sale actually. From what I know from our Territorial Affairs Secretary, we have a few islands for sell in the Helens Isles area."

Cheonsa continued to converse with Marty, and soon his mother was standing right next to the kitsune teen. "Enjoying your night, mrs president?" he asked, calmly smiling and emitting an aura of warmth and kindness as usual.

Larisa: "Well, we have to drink the blood of humans, or another one of our world's intelligent species. Given how strange and specific that is, many believe that us vampires are the result of some sort of curse. In any case, we drink donated blood provided by volunteers. For some of my ancestors this sadly wasn't the case, but the world was much more hostile back then and they didn't have that option. It helps that there are many more humans in the world than vampires. If we were more numerous, I imagine things wouldn't have ended up so peaceful.
I usually try to tolerate peoples ideologies, as long as they aren't screaming about genocide or other villainous nonsense. My nation's system is sometimes considered a form of communism, but that term doesn't really mean much to me. For most people it means the authoritarian nightmare that the Soviet Union brought about in some universes, something I would never want.
And yes, Sitka is very, very far off. It's in southeastern Alaska, which is already far away from most places, and on top of that it exists in a completely different universe than this one. Magic had to be used to travel here."

Marty: "Hmm... I think I'd want to try sailing with one of the captains back home, but thanks!"

"Aah the realm of magic, one that is closed to us and one we wish to keep that way. However in magic cannot a curse be lifted? Well the ideologies I mentioned chased , harassed and killed us on our travails so that does leave a resentful taste. Another universe would make diplomacy difficult but who knows what the future holds. It has been a delight, but I must circulate, but should there be dancing later I would be honoured if you would partner me."

Larisa: "There are some things that neither magic nor science can change. My weakness to the sun, for example. But perhaps the curse can be erased. I wouldn't want that, though. I like the way I am. And I'd be delighted to dance, if that turns out to be part of today's events."

She grinned, showing her fangs, and her eyes flashed red for a moment. "I am a vampire. Don't worry, though, I only drink donated blood. Among other things, being a vampire makes me immune to aging. I'm actually 45, even though most people assume I'm in my early twenties."

Vince also was unsurprised about the reality of vampires, and at this point expected her universe of origin to be heavy on the paranomal stuff compared to this one. He wasn't a believer personally, and this did really change that - and on the vampire note, the lack of brutal murder for the blood was happily satisfying for him to hear. Now he wanted to talk about their nation, and in return he'd tell her something. After she had finished, his response was "Glad to hear you don't murder people to live, and the perpetual youth must be nice. While we're walking or standing, why don't you tell me more about your country and then you can ask me questions in return?"

Larisa: "Well, let's see. Sitka is situated on a group of islands in southeastern Alaska. Europeans first reached it in 1799, when a group of vampires exiled from Russia arrived by ship. For a few years they lived peacefully with the natives, but then the Russian government took control and it became a colonial settlement. Independent spirit remained high, though, and since we were so far from the Russian heartland there wasn't much they could do about it. We regained our independence as part of America's purchase of the rest of Alaska in 1867, and since then we've been a fully democratic state. We're something of a refuge for vampires, though this role has become less important as discrimination against us has started to come to an end at last. Diplomatically we're closest with the German Empire, Japan, and the USA. The British Empire is the closest thing we have to an enemy, due to our German ties and the fact that the British see us as an inspiration to their colonies that desire independence. The remnants of the Confederacy never liked us much either, but a recent revolt there has put a more favorable government into power.
I'm just rambling, I suppose. Did you have any specific questions?"

Larisa smiled equally warmly. "Indeed. I see you and Marty are getting along quite well."

The young apparition hid behind his mother, and turned to look at Cheonsa. "Those... people... are the most evil beings I know of. I did not think they'd ever come to a place like this."

"Yes, yes, we are getting along perfectly. Have you made any new friends? It seems like you had a quite interesting conversation. Would you like a drink? I'm heading over there to get some more water." Cheonsa gestured to the table where the drinks were.

Larisa: "I suppose so. One man offered to dance with me if that ended up being part of the festivities. Ah, I'm afraid I can't have anything to drink here. Vampires of my sort can only consume one thing, and it probably isn't too hard to guess what. I made sure to have plenty of blood before I came, so nothing bad would happen to anyone... Marty, why are you hiding behind me?"

Marty: "Those war cultist people are here."

Larisa: "Oh. Them."

Cheonsa stood up, looking in the direction of the War Cultists. He shook his head and facepalmed. "Whose idea was it to bring warmongers into a peace conference?" He calmly walked to the large man that seemed to be their leader. "Hey you. Yes, you, big one with the eye patch. You reek of sin. Seriously, it's so bad it's like you haven't bathed in months. Normally, I would smite you with my Sword of Damocles, but I'm not in the mood to fight right now. So tell me, what are you doing here?" He remained calm, yet slightly annoyed by the creature's presence. He had faced much worse before, so the arch priest didn't even faze him.

Vince sighed when the people from the Cult of War had arrived. When he issued an open invitation, he should've known that someone would attend in a way completely against the ideas that he had in mind, and now he had a concrete example of this. While the actual creatures themselves weren't too horrifying or disappointing, everything else certainly was. They just teleported in with very significant, very obvious weapons for their protection. Bringing security makes sense, especially if you're an important figure, but there's no need at all to have very big, overt weapons in plain sight in an environment that's extremely unlikely to require their usage to begin with. That wasn't everything though, both of them seemed to be extremely pretentious but perhaps that was to be expected from such a nation.
Hearing Marty's and Larisa's complaints, he said back to them "So you know them, do you? They certainly seem scary and awfully pretentious, but I don't know them well enough to say they're evil. By the way, I found your rambling very informative even though I have no specific questions for you myself. Do you have any for me about the NMK or anything?"

Orion gets up and walks around for a while, and hangs around in a corner.

President Josiah walk over to a rather shy looking dignitary, almost hiding in a corner. Josiah walked over to the man and as he extended his hand with a great smile on his face he said; "Hello, my names Josiah Jones. But you can call me Josiah. I'm the current president of Devonta. Who may you be?"

When he issued an open invitation, he should've known that someone would attend in a way completely against the ideas that he had in mind, and now he had a concrete example of this. While the actual creatures themselves weren't too horrifying or disappointing, everything else certainly was. They just teleported in with very significant, very obvious weapons for their protection. Bringing security makes sense, especially if you're an important figure, but there's no need at all to have very big, overt weapons in plain sight in an environment that's extremely unlikely to require their usage to begin with. That wasn't everything though, both of them seemed to be extremely pretentious but perhaps that was to be expected from such a nation.

Larisa: "I haven't directly interacted with them, but I know of them by reputation. Their entire society revolves around bloodlust, violence, and war, to appease some Elder God. I'm surprised they aren't trying to murder us all.
And I guess I don't have any questions right now. My apologies."

“Well, for a socialist nation, we tend to alienate more Marxist-Leninist comrades, not to mention our hatred of supposed “anti fascists”. Our lax approach to social issues, combined with a grudge against those we claim tainted the left, has made us unpopular among the world stage. On the other hand, hardcore capitalists are against our communistic politics. All this has led us to create our own mini organization promoting democratic leadership and an end to such tyranny as dictatorships and anarchy. Like a more socialist NATO.
