Hmmm....interesting. Do you have an intention about how she actually fights crime? Is it mostly stepping in and using martial arts while relying on her danger sense? Can she travel to any point within her 24 hour spread (12 hours back and forward means she can travel to any point within 24 hours) or is she limited to EXACT 12 hour hops? How do you see that working within the confines of a street-level campaign?

Atnaia, reading over the story prompt, please let there be a strong idea of fate that slowly and subtly permeates the story. All of us in one building when big bad guys attack? Just subtle hints at the idea of fate would do, possibly leading to the revelation of gods or something if the RP is successful long term.

Yep. She is usually notified of stuff by that clock. And yeah, she is limited to the 24 hours spread. For now she does not even know what the clock is, how it came to be, etc.

On street-level campaigns, mostly relies on her martial arts and later on as time passes by, a handheld melee weapon (haven't decided on one yet). I see the use of clock as to figure out things that would happen in the next 12 hours or to fix things that went bad in the past 12 hours. Codename: The Damned Legate
Secret Identity: Markus Soll
Ethnicity: Civium Caber
Age: 26
Physical Description: A tall, thin man with a burned and scarred face and short blond hair. Tanned skin and red eyes.
Costume Description: A standard Legionnaire outfit but burned and torn in several places with a cracked gas mask
Powers:
Teleportation(short distances)
Can light himself on fire for intimidation and hand to hand combat
Being in his presence is supernaturally terrifying
Skills:

Quick Character Biography:
Markus was born in Rame to a Civium merchant family and had his life planned out for him, he attended full education and even college and took a special interest in psychology especially in studying fear and the reaction to it in a normal human. After college his father expected him to come home and continue the family business as a merchant but instead he signed as an officer in the Legions and was sent on a peace keeping mission were he was killed with his entire Contubernium after being caught in a cross fire. Instead of dying however he was visited by the god of the dead, Dis, who offered to bring him back and give him extraordinary powers in return for his souls and the promise that he would cause death and fear among people and send souls to Dis.

The terrified Markus accepted the deal without second thought and was returned to life with powers beyond imagine and a body scarred by fire, he returned to Caber and attempted to return to his old life. His family did not recognize him and in a flurry of emotion his powers became active and he burned down the house, killing his entire family by accident. He moved to Purth-Graje and established himself as a psychology teacher at a nearby high school, during his time he saw the crime in the city and decided that was how he would keep his deal to Dis by killing the criminals that infest the city.

I get that the idea is sort of a ghostly hero a la Ghost Rider or Spawn, but the amount of powers and their lack of definition fits a higher power campaign. Are their upper limits on these things? Does he have any particular weaknesses?

"Instantly freeze the target"? Are we talking like immediate death or are we going for the more comic booky "coated in ice and unable to move" style of frozen solid, like in Avatar The Last Airbender?

He's new to it still so he has difficulty controlling it and as it's magic granted to him by a god it can be turned off at any time by Dis. And he's not bulletproof he can be shot, his only real power is fire and that he's terrifying.

Then I am going to say dial it back. The nearest proxy is Iceman, and Iceman is a Cosmic Level Character: he fights things like Galactus, not street crime. This ability is too OP otherwise, since he can just end any fight immediately. You're fighting muggers and street gangs here, remember.

So short range teleportation, making himself look like he is on fire, and the fear effect? That's pretty neat actually, very ghostly. I approve.

Ok, I suppose it could be just covering the body with ice and immobilizing the target.

Your powers can eventually creep as bigger problems present themselves, remember that. Superheroes frequently learn "new powers" over time. Iceman used to become a snowman and throw snowballs and can now make clones of himself and manifest anywhere in the world by turning his body to water and reconstructing it at a different water source.

Might I suggest a slight tweak to his name. The Damned Legate (frequently referred to as the Legate) would be a better name than the Damned Legion. A Legion is a group of people. A Legate is an individual.

That actually works better, I had him as the legion because of his ability to create ghosts that look like him, making it look like there were several people.

I didn't even notice that ability...Can I ask that you choose EITHER the duplication OR the teleporting and not both? It's just a bit too much for a street level character to have such a broad suite of powers.

Codename: Tyr's Viking
Secret Identity: Steinar Rustad
Ethnicity: Svalbardian
Age: 19
Physical Description: https://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdz4 ... 1_1280.jpg

Costume Description: Steinar wears a body suit with a brown top layer and a grey bottom layer. He has a fur pelt that goes over his shoulders and he wears the stereotypical horned Viking helmet. Along with that he wears boots and has gauntlets that protect his hands and wrists.

Powers: Steinar has been gifted with enhanced strength and speed, along with that his body has been enhanced to allow him to tank an amount of damage before his body starts to actually be hurt. He also has been granted with the ability to fly for short periods of time. His most interesting gift might be the power to wield lightning, although in his experiments so far it has about the power of a small taser.

Skills: Steinar does not have many skills outside his power, he was an athlete in high school and that is what he focused most of his time on. His interest in his ancestors never gave him any practical skills, although he speculates that it may be the reason he was chosen. He was a wrestler though, so he knows how to pin people in ground combat, which is how he often caught the small time criminals that he has dealt with so far.

Bio: Will be expanded on later.

Notes:
As he performs great heroic deeds more of his power might be unlocked by his patron, for now though he trains in his powers when possible to try and be the best he can be so that he can help people as best as possible.

And you're going for a Midoka feel? A guy trying his best to be the best so that he can genuinely help people? I think you'd be good at playing that archetype into a Boisterous Bruiser, a guy who has FUN being a hero and genuinely has a good time fighting villains and wants them to become better people because he doesn't like hurting people, he just wants to have interesting sparring partners.
If you want, overlay a Viking theme on that and have him be the Spirit of Tyr or something.

I'm picturing your standard Flying Brick Archetype: flight, strength, speed some level of invulnerability. Like a toned down Superman: strong enough to lift and throw a car, but would struggle with lifting a bus; fast enough to outpace traffic, but not to break the sound barrier; able to fly and hover fairly well, but not to cross oceans in minutes; able to take moderate gunfire and knives, but still able to be damaged.

As always I enjoy the thought of a Bildungsroman, possibly having to deal with ones own ideals and how they clash with the world and how you handle that thought. When confronted with a stituation where he has to abandon some of his ideals does it strengthen him or turn him other directions?

I was actually thinking more like you have a maximum of 24 hours of travel in any direction. So you could go five hours forward, then five hours back, then eight hours back, then six hours forward, but then youd be stuck and have to wait it out to your next day the long way.

Sounds good. I'll write an OP osap.
