INT. BATTLE STAGE JURORS, HOSTS AND DATES REVEALED!

VMHQ is back up and running after the Christmas Break with a lot of information...

> International Battle Stage Jury Nations REVEALED!

WATCH THE REVEAL VIDEO HERE

Image

As we revealed here, there was a strict criterion that we stuck with when deciding the 5 different jury nations. The first criteria (that isn't mentioned there) is that all nations should have some interest in Vha Mehlodhivestoile - those that have voted in the National Final or, if they're a new nation to the competition, BVC would have to trust that the nation would be interested in the Vha Mehlodhivestoile format. Below, you can see why each of the above nations were picked...
  • Ertzei Kishim - This nation will be chosen based on how well they do at either the WVSC, JWHF or WHF. Nations who consistently score well and grab a few trophies along the way will be considered. In this case, Ertzei Kishim has won the WorldVision Song Contest, most recently the 80th WorldVision Song Contest. Ertzei Kishim also reaches the top 5 regularly making the nation the perfect choice for Most Successful.
  • Ekoz - Novapax is one of the regions that have the highest amount of international song contest participants -we need to show them some love! A Novapaxian nation which provide assistance in the Battle Stage... While Ekoz may not have participated in the past couple of editions, Ekoz has had an interest in Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Ekoz has seen the top 2 on many different occasions, usually right behind Britonisea! Ekoz and Britonisea are definitely a power couple, making the nation the right choice for Regional Support.
  • Natanya This nation has been around for some time but has not yet scored a victory. They aren’t forgotten, however. They might have hosted here and there, occasionally sending a banger or two under the radar... Well, Natanya might not have won but they're an integral part of the community. The nation recently hosted the largest ever Junior World Hit Festival where they placed 4th. Natanya has also recently reached top 5 in both WorldVision and World Hit suggesting they're know a thing or two. This makes them our choice for Lying in Wait.
  • Beepee A rising star of WVSC, JWHF or WHF will be chosen - one who might already have a win under their belt. This is a nation that soon will be a force to be reckoned with, a potential “Big Nations™” in the making... Beepee won the 85th WorldVision Song Contest in Malta Comino Gozo, after a rough start at the contest. Beepee has progressively been doing well and along the way has picked a fair few points from Britonisea. Beepee and Britonisea have similar music tastes, meaning the Beepee Jury making sure we keep to our true national style when picking our song. Beepee is the best choice for The Rising Estoile.
  • Waisnor A nation who has only appeared in the last year will complete the mix. A new nation who has shown invested in the WVSC, JWHF or WHF will be picked for a breath of fresh air in our line-up. Waisnor debuted at the 81st WorldVision Song Contest in our very own Boschke! Waisnor has an invested interest in the WorldVision Song Contest and has also Vha Mehlodhivestoile. The Waisnor broadcaster was very interested to join our Vha Mehlodhivestoile family and we can't wait to have them. This makes them perfect for Newcomer.

>Your VM2021 Hosts!

Below are the VM2021 hosts. Here you can find out a bit about them as well.

Image
Lucie Dagenham
Singer & Host of VME2019
Lucie Dagenham is no stranger to neither the WorldVision Song Contest, World Hit Festive nor Vha Mehlodhivestoile. In fact, she's sent a song to all of them! Lucie Dagenham has sent a song to Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2020, where she placed 6th in the Grand Final - coming 3rd in the International Jury votes. Lucie represented Britonisea at the WorldVision Song Contest where she placed 4th with 124 points (in the Old System). Lucie also represented Britonisea at the World Hit Festival where she came 5th. There really isn't anyone better than Lucie when it comes to knowing how the artists feel.

Lucie Dagenham will appear in all of the shows as the Main Host.

Image
Frida Grover
Singer & Host of WorldVision Song Contest 66
Frida Grover is a name that is similar to Britons. Frida Grover first appeared on our screens at the 63rd WorldVision Song Contest where she sang the song "Pyro" in Todlichebujoku. "Pyro" not only went to number 1 in the Britonish Charts, but her dance pop hit surfed its way straight to #1 at the contest, winning Britonisea's first title in 16 editions at the time of the WV63. Frida is multi-faceted. She hosted the 66th WorldVision Song Contest in Telm City, and has also appeared in Vha Mehlodhivestoile to sing her hit, "Pyro". Frida is known as a cultural icon in the country, with "Pyro" being the first song - and the only song to date - to have won the WorldVision Song Contest completely in the Britonish language. The girl from Alshkan will make sure that give Vha Mehlodhivestoile as much Britonish as she can.

Frida Grover will appear in the Battle Stage and Grand Final as the Main Host.

Image
Emmanuel Taylor
Theatre Actor & Television Personality
Emmanuel Taylor is a familiar face for those who watch a lot of TV with him having participated on the BVC 2 reality show, Stardom Pond which is about a group of people who work in the entertainment industry, living in the West of Doportedas in Pondsend - which is considered the posher part of the city. Though Emmanuel stood out to be a breath of fresh air for the show, with him down-to-earthness making him a hit with viewers. Since he left the still ongoing show, Emmanuel has had continued to perform in the Theatre district of Doportedas, now fulltime due to Stardom Pond not taking up the rest of his time. Emmanuel now stars in The Lion King where he plays the adult Simba in one of the largest theatres in Britonisea - performing to a packed audience of 4,500 people - sometimes up to three times a day if there's an extra showing (though there are only 3 shows per day if there's a national holiday, such as National Brito Day). Not only that, he also does small non-musical performances in smaller theatres across the city when he has time off during the week. He will leave The Lion King and rejoin the cast of Stardom Pond but between now and then, he will be a VM2021 host!

Emmanuel Taylor will appear in the Battle Stage and Grand Final as the Main Host.

Image
Jordan Bassett
Film & Television Actor
Jordan is a high profile Film Actor in Britonisea, known for starring in critically acclaimed films such as Judgement Day, The Drowned, Night is Coming. Jordan is always working on a new project, with his most recent project to be revealed soon. While people will be rushing to see him in films, they will also be able to catch him at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Jordan is Telm City-based, but has a house in Cappehnyadden which he has moved to during the pandemic. This matches perfectly with Vha Mehlodhivestoile as that is the city we are first visiting. He wanted to appear more on television as well as film, with him making his television debut in the drama Mortir which was broadcast on BITC and was filmed across the ABEN Union.

Jordan Bassett will appear in the Semi-Finals as Main Host.

Image
Matt Evans
YouTuber & Television Host
Matt Evans is a YouTuber known for uploading content about his day-to-day life, including his day job working with Actors (as a Director). His vlogging content includes having interviews with some of the top names in the acting industry - including Jordan Bassett! Matt's vlogging content may not be what people from other countries would expect in a day-to-day vlog, but he has many fans here in Britonisea with his charms pulling in over 1 million Britonish YouTube subscribers, with many more across Novapax. Those who would be interested in Matt most are those who want to get into the Music, Acting or even Television and Film. Because of Matt's brilliant style of presenting, he has also appeared on television shows including BVC's morning show, where he would present the Entertainment news during the summer.

Matt Evans will appear in the Semi-Finals as Greenroom Host.

What a large update! The next update will come on the 17th January at 20:00 when the international submission deadline closes - 12 days away!

Important Format Update

Postby Britonisea » Thu Jan 14, 2021 4:02 pm

Image
INTERNATIONAL SUBMISSION UPDATE

THERE ARE ONLY THREE DAYS LEFT TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY TO VHA MEHLODHIVESTOILE 2021.

This year we have received a large amount of fantastic international entries and so we are changing the format of the show...

This year, we have received a large number of international submissions compared to the previous years. We don't intend on closing the International Submissions lines until Sunday 17th 2021, but we have now pushed this deadline to 23:59 GMT, which gives artists an extra four hours to submit entries. Due to the change of format for Vha Mehlodhivestoile, we are allowing artists that have already submitted an entry to withdraw their submissions up to 48 hours before this new deadline. At that point, submissions will be considered final and we will be going each of the entries, aiming to get back to those who submitted by 24th January 2021. If you haven't heard from us by the 25th January 2021, please assume your entry was not accepted. We will try to contact everyone, but due to the sheer number, in some cases, this might not be possible.

We have decided to change the format of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021. Please see the changes that we have made below;

This year we have had some fantastic entries being submitted into our National Final, but we have also received great entries from Britonish artists too and so instead of limiting artists, we will be changing the way entries are accepted into Vha Mehlodhivestoile. We will be bringing the idea of Pre-Qualification into fruition for this year's Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Here's some Q&A's for you...

What does this mean for international artists?

Explained in the post linked, the Pre-Qualification round will include between five (5) to ten (10) International Submissions and will be broadcast before Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021. The show will take place on Saturday 6th March 2021 in Cappehnyaden (where the 1st Semi-Final is set to take place a couple of weeks after) and all of the successful International Submissions will be asked to participate in this competition.

Will this work in the same way as a Semi-Final?

The reason why we decided against a fourth Semi-Final was that the Pre-Qualification round will work differently. We've left the table open to having up to ten (10) different act - whereas in Semi-Finals we wanted to keep this strictly 8 competing acts. The Pre-Qualification round won't have the same amount of qualifiers either. Out of a maximum of 10 international submissions, the song that comes first will qualify directly to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021.

The votes will be decided using 75% International (who will give an average score out of 10) along with 25% Britonish score. Britonisea will be split into four (Aloquirbe, North, West and East).

PRE-QUALIFICATION RESULTS
WINNER - Direct to Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 Grand Final
2nd PLACE - Qualification to Battle Stage
3rd PLACE - Qualification to Battle Stage
4th onwards - No qualification...

2nd or 3rd place will also be offered a place in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022's Semi-Final if they don't qualify to the Grand Final. If they reject, the offer gets passed down to 4th and so on...

How does this change the Britonish Selection?

As normal, in the three Semi-Finals will contain 8 Britonish acts, with two acts qualifying to the Grand Final from each Semi-Final, meaning that joining the International Submission winner, there will be 7 direct finalists. There will be an automatic Britonish qualifier from the 2020 edition, taking the total to 8 acts. The final four acts of Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be found from the Battle Stage.

SF1 - 8 Britonish Artists - 2 finalists
SF2 - 8 Britonish Artists - 2 finalists
SF3 - 8 Britonish Artists - 2 finalists

As explained below, 2 more Britonish acts will compete against the International Submission artists in a final battle to make sure they're good enough to qualify to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile...

Therefore there will be a total of 27 Britonish Acts in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021.

How will the Battle Stage work?

The date of the Battle Stage remains unchanged - it will go ahead in Arçonne on the 4th April 2021. The battle stage has 5 juries at the moment. This is what is going to happen:

Ertzei Kishim, Beepee and Natanya will be in charge of picking the three songs from the Britonish Selection in the normal version. Waisnor and Ekoz. Two international submissions will qualify to the Battle Stage and one song will go to Ekoz's section and the other to Waisnor's; provided both nations are present at the Battle Stage. They will go head-to-head with two ABEN pre-qualifiers who will reveal their entries during the emission on the 6th March 2021. These ABEN performers will be from Britonisea, but the writers are from either Nightom or Estogium. Britonish and Aloquirbic writers are not allowed in the International Submission, but Estogian and Nightomese artists can appear.

In the case we are short of juries because of extenuating circumstances, the other nation will pick the best of the two preferred entries of the Britonish public. This, therefore, means that a maximum of two International artists will be in the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 - which is in line with previous editions of Vha Mehlodhivestoile.

This means that in total there will be 30 entries, officially, in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021.

Who will host Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021: Pre-Qualification?

This will be hosted by Frida Grover and Emmanuel Taylor as the pair won't appear in the show until the Battle Stage and Grand Final.

OOCly, for those who have submitted songs, you are allowed to support your artist - as always, there are no voting restrictions.

International Acts decided & Changes to awards

INTERNATIONAL PREQUALIFIERS DECIDED - WILL BE REVEALED SOON

> Submission Stats!

With International Submissions having closed over the weekend, at VMHQ, over the past four days they were sorting through all the entries to pick the best 10...

After months of submissions being opened for both Britonish people and International artists, on Sunday all of that came to end. For what was a rather late deadline compared to recent editions (international submissions usually close before Christmas), we received a total of 240 international submissions which makes this year the one that received the most amount of international acts. Last year, we received around 100 international submissions and in 2019, we received around 140. We are unsure why there are so many international submissions this year, but we believe that its done to the pandemic giving people more time to come up with the song that they would like to send to Britonisea's biggest television show. In addition to this, we have received more Britonish submissions than the year before too. For the first time ever we have passed 4,500 submitted entries, with an around 30-60 songs being received every day, with that number going up to 102 on the few days before the Britonish submissions closed.

Image
Our busiest year yet!: A grand total of 240* international entries and 4,541 domestic entries were received over the past few months making this the most popular VM on record!
*OOC: 24 international songs were submitted to VM2021 - the highest amount on record.

The only thing that needs to be done now is to contact the makers of the 240 entries to let them know whether they have been accepted or not. Since the decision was made today; it is likely that acts will find out either today or tomorrow morning, but the team is working as hard as possible to get as many replies out before 11pm tonight. Those poor employees working overtime - we'll make sure they're paid handsomely. Of the 4,541 entries most of them were from the tens of music record labels that there are in Britonisea, with some labels providing a huge list of songs for us to listen to (with them being demo versions). Those songs were paired with those who decided to just submit themselves as singers or singers we are in contact with - either through previously failed submissions or previous WorldVision participations. We also receive songs from our usual team of writers as well (those who are in the industry and those who work as part of BVC Musique), who would also work on the aforementioned demo versions in order to polish them up for the live Vha Mehlodhivestoile show. Finally, the last bulk of entries we receive are from those who aren't part of a label - whether this is a self-written song or one done with a couple of friends in a garage - we fully encourage grass-root singer-songwriters to present themselves at our celebration of music. They can sometimes go a long way - Taron Woods won the 2018 edition of Vha Mehlodhivestoile with a song that he had written without the help of anyone else - including our usual team of writers. Putting all of this together, we get to 4,541 submissions. From this 25 Britonish entires are selected!

The official public reveals of the 25 Britonish acts and 10 international acts will be in mid-late February.

> Changes to Awards!

At the end of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, depending on where you place, you receive different awards for the competition. This year, we are going to revamp this. The major change that is happening is regarding the act that is in 3rd place. Unlike Tobias Noah and those that followed before him, the person who places 3rd will not automatically qualify to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022. Instead, they will be offered an automatic spot in one of the Semi-Finals of their choosing, This means they still get to by-pass the submissions process which does indeed take a long time and doesn't guarantee they will get to the live shows. The prize money for Vha Mehlodhivestoile will change also. 1st place will receive a total of £155,000 BPS to help with their music career, £60,000 BPS will go to the runner-up (an increase of 10,000 BPS) and we will also be offering £25,000 BPS to 3rd place and fourth place will receive £10,000 BPS making the total prize pot £250,000 BPS this year. For those who go to WorldVision Song Contest, they will want to spend some of their money on staging, costume, set and accommodation which the VM act contributes to (the broadcaster pays for most of the basics but the act pays for anything additional or better accommodation for their delegation for example).

Finally, the top 2 acts will go to the WorldVision Song Contest as agreed by the BITC and BVC. As normal, the winner will be the first to go to WorldVision Song Contest with the 2nd place going in an edition sometime after the winner is sent. BVC will then pick two Vha Mehlodhivestoile songs to go to the World Hit Festival, ideally 3rd and 4th but it depends on the type of song, but it can be any two acts of Vha Mehlodhivestoile whether they qualified or not. This has been done because 2nd places don't seem to be doing as well in World Hit Festival as winners at the WorldVision Song Contest. This change has been done in order for the Britonish public to have more say on who goes to World Hit Festival as BVC will listen to public feedback before making a decision.

That is all for today's update!

VM2021 | ARTIST REVEAL | SEMI-FINAL ONE (ACT 1 - 4)

The countdown is over - the first four artists and song titles have been revealed for the first Semi-Final, which will take place in Cappehnyaden on the 20th March 2021...

Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 is just over a month away which means that preparations for the upcoming edition of the national final is in full swing! Currently, those who are working on the national final are finalising the songs that will be entered and filming the artist reveals, four of which you will get today. The rest of Semi-Final One will be revealed tomorrow at the same time. Songs won't be revealed yet, with one-minute clips of each of the songs being released on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the live show. During the show, the whole songs will be revealed everyone will be able to stream the songs until their hearts are content.

This year is a bit different to the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format. In each of the Semi-Finals, as normal, there will be eight performances that will be voted on 50:50 International and Britonish audience. At the end of the Semi-Final songs, a Battle Stage qualifier will perform (for Semi-Final 1 and 2) whereas in Semi-Final 3, the automatic finalist for the Grand Final will perform their song. The artist will be revealed along with their respective Semi-Finalists and later on, the song too.

As mentioned before, we are revealing the first four acts of a total of 27 (24 competitive songs) that will perform in the Semi-Finals process. In this quad, we have three debuting acts including and one returning. One of the debuting acts have already performed at the WorldVision Song Contest - but not for Britonisea! We have a patriotic duo opening the show, another debuting act who has had fame in the country she was born in and finally, a very recognisable duo who are having yet another go at Vha Mehlodhivestoile.

Both: HEKKI! Ben: My name is Ben Jay: And my name is Jay, and together we made the duo, Ben œ Jay! Ben: We have been friends for life really, I'm 24 and he's 25 and we pretty much first met back in Primary school when we were like seven years old. Jay: Yeah, we went to secondary together as well and we were quite the class clowns, I must admit but we just wanted to mess around and have some fun. Ben: And so our contribution to Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 definitely shows that, I think. Jay: It's a fun, upbeat song which is quite patriotic - its a song you can raise your Britonish flag to and wave it around which is what the song, essentially, is about. Ben: It's a party song, anthemtic and hopefully it'll lift our spirits up after what has been such a terrible year! Jay: We will be opening the show, no pressure whatsoever on the 20th March 2021 at the earlier time of 18:30 on BVC One in Cappehnyaden. Ben: See you all there!

O-Kai: Hi everyone! My name is O-Kai and I am here to sing my song "New Me"! This is my first time in Vha Melodhivestoile but some of you may remember me from WorldVision where I performed "Kiss You Goodbye (Mwah)" at WorldVision 53 a few years ago. At the time, I represented Kalosia since I'm half Kalosian, but now I'm here to get in touch with my other half, and I hope you enjoy my song! You'll be able to catch me perform 2nd in Cappehnyaden on the 20th March on BVC One.

Jarvis: My name is Jarvis, he is Javian and I'm Jaxon and together we make the band J3! You get it, since, all of our names start with J and there's three of us? Jaxon: Shut up! *laughter* Javian: Now, you guys probably know us from our past Vha Mehlodhivestoile participations. We've participated in 2017... Jarvis: 2019... Jaxon: With 2020, last year, being our most recent song. We didn't do as well as we wanted last year... Jarvis: You can say that again! Javian: So hopefully we will do a stellar job with our song, "Where We Left Off". Our song is kind of lockdown inspired as we wrote it around spring last year. The song speaks about putting your time with someone on hold for a while, hoping that things return back to normal. Jaxon: It's a nice bit of R&B - that I think is, ugh, definitely more adult than some of our previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile entries. Jarvis: And you will be able to hear it live for the first time on BVC One! Jaxon: Indeed, 18:30 on the 20th March 2021 for the first Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, Javian: In Cappehnyaden. We can't wait!

Lynette: Hello everyone, my name is Lynette and I will be singing the song, "Rendezvous" at the 6th Vha Mehlodhivestoile. I was born in Malinley in Rhim Flavezztowland, but I'm half Britonish on my father's side. I've had some success in the past, I used to be part of a group called Harmonix
for six years after I decided to split from them about 5 to 6 years ago. Ever since then, I've gone my own way making solo music and I thought that it would be great to showcase this on the big stage here in Britonisea so I decided to take the trip here and voila here I am! My song, "Rendezvous" is about a summertime romance, think...I don't know Shirley Valentine? I think this song is quite the bop myself with space for dance moves and pyro - so expect that! You'll be able to see all of this when I perform 4th in the first Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 in Cappehnyaden on the 20th March on BVC one.

Thank you for watching the Artist Reveal of the first four Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 semi-finalists. Come back tomorrow (Saturday 1900 GMT) for the rest of the Semi-Final, you won't want to miss it!

Here are the final four acts of the 1st Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, including the Automatic Battle Stage qualifier who will perform with the rest on the 20th March 2021...

Yesterday, four great artists were revealed. Ben & Jay was announced to be the ones opening the contest with a summer-like uptempto track in Britonish. This is the first time that Britonish will open the show. We then move onto the Brito-Kalosian singer O-Kai who is hoping to head back to WorldVision to clinch a victory, J3 is also back for the fourth time in Vha Mehlodhivestoile history, hoping fourth time lucky and Lynette Jung is hoping she can make a career here in Britonisea replicate her success in Rhim Flavezztowland. However, it doesn't end there, we still have yet another five acts to reveal today, including the battle stage qualifier who will perform in the interval act.

In the final five acts of Vha Mehlodhivestoile - we only have soloists. Two men hoping to make his big break on the national stage, a former World Hit Festival participant, who's the sister of someone pretty famous and a returning Semi-Final winner hoping to score another win at the Grand Final.

Josh Morris - Mine
Language: English
Music: Jayden Christopher, William Cross
Lyrics: Atekon Shipton, Josh Morris
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:04)
FILMED IN LUTON, BRITONISEA (N)

Josh: Hello everybody, my name is Josh Morris and I will be singing fifth in the first Semi-Final with the song, "Mine". I'm really looking forward to making my mark on the stage at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. I've watched every single show since the first one and I've worked very hard to get here. I've submitted songs for the past two years and third time's a charm as this song was the accepted one. I, along with the great songwriter Atekon Shipton, wrote the lyrics to this song about a real-life situation that was kind of scary, I'm not going to lie. The song that I'm sending is quite experimentative; it's edgy pop which is very much my style of music. I think that there's definitely a place for my song in the country - I hope it'll do very well. So thrilled to be a part of this great show! Watch me perform "Mine" at the first semi-final in Cappenhyaden on the 20th March on BVC One at 18:30. Thank you all!

Aaliyah Banques - Promise Me
Language: English
Music: Xavier Neon, Jamie Byns
Lyrics: Aaliyah Banques, Kelsey Banques
VM Record: Debutante
WHF Record: WHF32, 4th - 19 points (for Nightom)
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:00)
FILMED IN ALSHKAN, BRITONISEA (NW)

Aaliyah: Wooo, I am finally here at Vha Mehlodhivestoile as a singer! My name is Aaliyah Banques and this year I am sending the song, "Promise Me" to the contest. I have had experience in both the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Fesitval, I was a backing singer for my sister, Kelsey Banques which she won after VM2020, and at World Hit Festival, I represented Nightom and came 4th. When Bovingdon hosted the 53rd World Hit Festival, I was backing singer for five counties; Kalosia, Izmedu, Estana and Thaos, Teesdexxia and of course, Britonisea. It was great fun, but gave me a willingness to come back to the big stage and I wanted to do that through VM2021 especially after my younger sister's success. The song "Promise Me" is an upbeat pop song, which is speaking to my child who's only a couple of years old. These are the thoughts I have when looking at him in a song. I can't wait to perform my song on the 20th March 2021 on BVC One, starting at 18:30! See you there...

Elias Deichmann - Survive
Language: English
Music: James Embankment, T:Rodden, Raya Nicholls
Lyrics: Elias Eachann, James Davies, Raya Nicholls
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:02)
FILMED IN MACHIEVELIHE, BRITONISEA (W)

Elias: Hello everybody, my name is Elias Deichmann! This is my first time participating at Vha Mehlodhivestoile and I honestly don't know what to expect! Like, I've been in contact with a few people who have participated in the past, including my songwriter the very famous and successful James Embankment and he says that it's different every year for him and so for me it could be totally different how it was in the last few years. I am so excited to start, though, I've already packed my suitcase for Cappehnyaden. My song, "Survive" is about running out of time and really relying on the person that you love to help you pull through. It's a dark song, especially when considering the lyrics. There's some claps, there's a powerful guitar and I think it's got a strong melody that will stick in your head. This will be an awesome addition for what, I'm sure, will be a fantastic lineup in Cappehnyaden. Catch me perform my song 7th on the night of the 20th March 2021, 18:30 on BVC only. B-Bye!

Rochelle Fox - Eagle
Language: English
Music: Susanne Barker, Evangelista Rocques, Kayla Luccia
Lyrics: Rochelle Fox, Tasha Louise
VM Record: 2019 (Final, 4th)
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:57)
FILMED IN DOPORTEDAS, BRITONISEA (S)

Rochelle: Hello everybody! My name is Rochelle Fox and some of you may know me from my Vha Mehlodhivestoile participation from 2019 where, not to toot my own horn, but I won Semi-Final 3 and then went onto come fourth at the Grand Final. In 2019, I worked with the amazing Kelsey Banques who co-wrote the song I sang, "Paradise" and then the next year, she went onto win! It inspired me so much that I wanted to come back this year with a song that I really was into. So working with those that wrote "Paradise" and the past two winning songs, "Want You Home" and "Indestructible", we teamed up to write the song, "Eagle" which I'm so proud of. It sounds absolutely epic! It's about finally being free. Being an eagle, you're the king of the skies and nothing can bother you or stand in your way and that's the vibes of "Eagle" - the song haha. This song is a strong ballad which will leave you on the edges of your seat! I can't wait to perform it - there's big things coming your way on the 20th March 2021 live from Cappehnyaden! Live on BVC from 18:30 so you better be on!

In addition to the eight performances of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021's first Semi-Final, the first automatic qualifier will be performing their song in full during the interval act. They will be qualifying straight to the Battle Stage for a spot in the Grand Final.

Aria Cohen - Jusqu'au Lever Du Soleil
Translation: Until Sunrise
Language: French, English
Music: Jordan Boal, Xavier Boal, Dan Bitton
Lyrics: Nancy Bouqet, Aria Cohen
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:00)
FILMED IN EAUX CITY, BRITONISEA (NW)

Aria: Je m'apelle Aria and my song is called "Jusqu'au lever du soleil". I am so nervous to sing my song on the huge stage in Cappehnyaden and then again in the Battle Stage - it's probably the biggest stage that I've ever performed on so whilst I am so excited to perform in just over a month's time - I am absolutely bricking it! My song is...fun! It's cheeky and upbeat with a great little drop. The song is kind of influenced by Britonisea's WorldVision 82 performance in Ertzei Kishim, by Kristiana Totem and so it has similar ethnic vibes but at the same time it's very much Britonish pop. I think my song will everyone out of their seats singing "Jusqu'au lever du soleil!" You'll be able to hear the song live for the first time on BVC One on the 20th March 2021 at 18:30 live from Cappenhyaden.

ALL: [SINGS] Crusé v’airde secrousser, secrousser, secrousser! Aaliyah: Hello everybody! We are TOULOUSE and we are returning to Vha Mehlodhivestoile! James: Honestly, last year was so amazing - we came into this thinking that, you know, we were debutants and so the likelihood of us doing fantastically well was slim. We managed to come in the top 4 in our Semi-Final and before you knew it, we were in the Grand Final! Scott: And to be honest, we didn't do that badly in the Grand Final either, did we? Vha Mehlodhivestoile was definitely an avenue that we had to go down again and look here we are one year later! Aaliyah: Our song, "Pointe-Ouiser" translates to "Boiling Point" from Britonish to English and it's kind of...poppy-rocky, it's not too heavy but definitely still fits within our style of music! I James: I think the Britonish public will react pretty well to the song, don't you guys think? Scott: Well, I would certainly hope so - I think the international juries will too, thinking about the types of songs that are doing well at the WorldVision Song Contest nowadays, yeah! Aaliyah: Indeed. You will be able to catch our performance on the 27th March 2021 on BVC One on 20:00, live from Boscombard! James: I am so excited! Scott: See you guys there!

Antonio Ambrose - Keep on Dancing
Language: English
Music: Kieran Whithers, George Alleyne, Louise Hamilton
Lyrics: Susan Berry, Rapahel Caron, Fiona Bruce
VM Record: 2019 (7th, Semi-Final)
WorldVision Record: WV53, 4th - 87 points (for Kalosia)
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:55)
FILMED IN TELM CITY, BRITONISEA (SE)

Hey, everyone, my name is Antonio Ambrose and I will be performing my song "Keep on Dancing" second in the second Semi-Final. The last time I participated in Vha Mehlodhivestoile two years ago, I sent the song, "Ma Enterébatale" which didn't do as well as I had hoped, but after a process of evaluation, I am coming back with a song that I think is much stronger to the one that I sent a couple of years ago. My song, "Keep on Dancing", well the lyrics in the song, tells the story of someone who is out at the clubs and keeps on dancing even when the club shuts down. I think a lot of the lyrics I thought about has something to do with the recent pandemic, like, once we are able to go out as normal again, I don't think I'll be seen anywhere other than the clubs! My song is fun and there is room to have some cool staging! I can't wait to get on that stage on the 27th March 2021 in Boscombard, which you can catch at 20:00 GMT on BVC One!

Mello Cinde - Sticks and Stones
Language: English
Music: James Embankment, T:Rodden, Viktor Nelson, Susanne Barker
Lyrics: Mini Surrey North, Julie Smith, Mello Cinde
VM Record: 2016 (7th, Grand Final), 2017 (4th, Grand Final)
WV Record: WV57, 2nd - 105 points
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:11)
FILMED IN GHIEZ, BRITONISEA (NE)

Mello: Hi guys, my name is Mello Cinde and I am returning to Vha Mehlodhivestoile for the first time since 2017. It doesn't feel like the last time that I participated was four years ago and I've really been wondering what has stopped me from coming back in 2018, 2019, 2020... But I think I just didn't have the right song, but now I do! My song, "Sticks and Stones" is a power ballad, very much similar to the songs that I have sent to Vha Mehlodhivestoile in the past. It is about nobody saying anything to me that can stop me from achieving my dreams - one of which is winning WorldVision, of course! I came 2nd in the 57th WorldVision Song Contest in Machievelihe which was such a great achievement for me, but I wanna go one further, I would love to lift up the trophy and I believe "Sticks and Stones" could take me there. My team and I are very working very hard to make show-stopping performance which you will be able to catch on the 27th March 2021 on BVC One when we go live to Boscombard in the west of Britonisea for Semi-Final Two. Goodbye, my lovelies!

Unhinged Renegades - RATATATA
Language: English
Music: Jourdain Carter, Jamie Banks, Martyn Luther
Lyrics: Kiain Boyst, Alexander Raffaelo, Chris Wilkinson, Xavier Rutherford
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:57)
FILMED IN BURGENDORE, BRITONISEA (SW)

Kiain: Hello there! Alexander: Hola! Chris: Bonjour! Xavier: Hekki - we are the Unhinged Renegades and we are coming to Vha Mehlodhivestoile for the first time ever! Kiain: I am hella excited to get onto the Vha Mehlodhivestoile stage with my crew with our song "RATATATA" which - I think - is a type of song that Britonisea hasn't really dared to send in the past to either the WorldVision Song Contest or the World Hit Festival. Alexander: Our song is upbeat, it's fun, exciting, truss you'll need a breather after your three or so minutes with us! Chris: I think that our song is more than just a song - it's a performance, you know. We've been training so hard to make sure this looks great on the stage. The song does mean a lot to us - we don't want to give away any details about it, but I think everyone will like it a lot. Xavier: Yeah, I don't even think there is a song like this in the competition at all - for a few years so, yeah! And in such a great running order position - oof, I'm ready to get going! Kiain: So why don't you turn on BVC One at 20:00 GMT on the 27th March 2020 to watch us perform live from the city of Boscombard! Xavier: Vote for us!

Thank you for watching the Artist Reveal of the first four Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 semi-finalists. Come back on Sunday (Sunday 1900 GMT) for the rest of the Semi-Final, you won't want to miss it!

Here are the final four acts of the 1st Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, including the Automatic Battle Stage qualifier who will perform with the rest on the 20th March 2021...

Yesterday, four great artists were revealed. It was announced that TOULOUSE would be making a Vha Mehlodhivestoile comeback after placing 5th in the Grand Final last year. Toulouse weren't the only returnees announced as Antonio Ambrose was also confirmed. Antonio will return to the competition for the first time in two years, hoping that this year, he will make it out of the Semi-Final. Mello Cinde will also be making a return to Vha Mehlodhivestoile for the first time in 4 years, hoping to make her return to the WorldVision Song Contest to better her 2nd place in Machievelihe. Finally, the first debutant act of VM2021's Semi-Final 2 is Unhinged Renegades who are hoping to become the first boyground since J3 to qualify directly to the Grand Final.

This year is a bit different from the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format.

In the final five acts of Vha Mehlodhivestoile - we only have soloists. Two men hoping to make his big break on the national stage, a former World Hit Festival participant, who's the sister of someone pretty famous and a returning Semi-Final winner hoping to score another win at the Grand Final.

Xavier Benchek - Demons

Music: Xavier Benchek, Leon Christopher, Samantha Parkson
Lyrics: Xavier Benchek, Leon Christopher, Samantha Parkson
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:09)
FILMED IN ARONYK, BRITONISEA (E)

Xavier: Helly everybody, my name is Xavier Benchek and I'll be making my Vha Mehlodhivestoile debut this year with my song, "Demons". I'm 24 year old from Aronyk - and I'm best known for being placed third in the X Factor in Britonisea in 2018. Performing on the X Factor was a huge deal for me; I was doing performances literally every week - sometimes I'd do two a week where I had to do singing and dancing at the same time which I hadn't done before - it certainly helped my core strength, I must admit! I got as far as the finals, performing in front of 10,000 odd people - it was such a great feeling. I'm craving for this feeling again, especially after the year we had and where better to send a song than Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021?! My song "Demons" isn't necessarily a big pop banger with pyros and explosions, but it's a song with a sick beat, a dark pop song I know Britons would absolutely love. There will be dancing and a lot of stage effects which I can't wait to show you all on the 27th March 2020 on BVC One at 20:00 when I perform in Semi-Final 2 live from Boscombard. Thank you all for listening!

ELLA - Facile
Translation: Easy
Language: French
Music: ELLA, Ria Veronica, Penelope Summerton
Lyrics: ELLA
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:56)
FILMED IN ARÇONNE, BRITONISEA (N)

ELLA: Bonjour tous le monde, je m'appelle ELLA et je vais chanter une chanson qui s'apelle "Facile" dans Boscombard! Je devrais parler en anglais? D'accord haha, in case you didn't get that, my song will be called "Easy"! To give you a flavour of what the song is like, it's a little bop that will have you moving from side to side. It's very much street, which is what all of us need from time to time - don't we?! On the stage I want to create some cool and chill vibes, which you will see in my staging. I've watched Vha Mehlodhivestoile for a couple of years now and I'm always amazed with how different artists stage their songs and I thought to myself one day, what if I was on that stage making all those decisions? I submitted a song and look, here I am! I am working with Ria Veronica and Penelope Summerton - a true female-only contribution. I'll probably have a brigade of dancers on the stage with me as well, so that's something exciting to look out for. Not too long until the 27th March 2020, when you watch BVC One on 20:00 when I perform live from Boscombard. Bye!

Jordan Barker - Give In
Language: English
Music: James Embankment, Chester Smith
Lyrics: James Embankment, Chester Smith
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:53)
FILMED IN MACHIEVELIHE, BRITONISEA (W)

Jordan: How to describe my song in three words...hmm, upbeat, daring, naughty? Very much like me! My name is Jordan Barker and I will present the song "Give In" on the 27th March in Boscombard. The song is definitely a song that I vibe with a lot, and since I've worked on the song along with the great WorldVision-winning songwriter, James Embankment and Chester Smith, we've all also got an idea of how we want it to look on the stage. I've been working with my artist directors already to make sure the show is something that all Britons and fans abroad will love. I've got so much adrenaline and I can't wait for the main rehearsals to start and of course, the live show itself. You will be able to catch me perform my song on BVC One at 20:00 on the 27th March - performing 7th! See you there, my darlings! *winks at the lens*

Zoe Wilkinson - Leap of Faith
Language: English
Music: Jake Apollo, Georgie Allans, Geraldine Foster
Lyrics: Tisha Fiona, Zoe Wilkinson, Geraldine Foster, Kristiana Totem
VM Record: 2019 (9th, Grand Final), 2020 (5th, Semi-Final)
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:13)
FILMED IN DOPORTEDAS, BRITONISEA (S)

Zoe Wilkinson: I AM HERE! AGAIN! My name is Zoe Wilkinson and I am performing for the third time in a row here at Vha Mehlodhivestoile! Looking back on my past VM performances, I really want to do much better than before. Winning Semi-Final 2 back in 2019 was great, but it didn't follow through in the Grand Final. 2020, I didn't even qualify and so I've gone away and thought about how I can come back stronger and so here I am with "Leap of Faith". I am working with some pretty great people; I am working with Geraldine Foster who was behind our winning 87th WorldVision Song Contest song and I am also mostly working with the people that produced the 82nd WorldVision Song Contest Britonish entry; Jake Apollo and Georgie Allans, when we came 3rd when Kristiana Totem repped us. She also helped me write this song, too! "Leap of Faith" doesn't sound anything like the song we sent then, with the song sounding a lot more like something that I would sing as I wanted to be true to myself, you know? It's a great song and I'm happy I am closing the night of competitive performances. If you can't wait to watch me perform, "Leap of Faith", tune into BVC One on the 27th March 2021 at 20:00 live from BOSCOMBARD!!! Bye everyone!

In addition to the eight performances of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021's second Semi-Final, the first automatic qualifier will be performing their song in full during the interval act. They will be qualifying straight to the Battle Stage for a spot in the Grand Final.

Lukas: Hey everyone, my name is Lukas! For those of you who don't know me, I am so thankful that I am here at Vha Mehlodhivestoile this year. I'll be performing my song, "Let Me Go" as the interval act of Semi-Final 2, with the International Juries picking whether I deserve a spot in the Grand Final or not. "Let Me Go" is a fun upbeat song that is about breaking up with somebody, but I am coming from a more positive angle, to be honest. I think that my song will get everybody jumping for joy, despite the lyrics. I am from Boscombard, so having the chance to perform my song in Boscombard...it is a great feeling really, and I'm looking very much looking forward to it so tune into BVC One on the 27th March 2021. See you there!

This year is a bit different to the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format.

Three out of the four acts revealed this time are returning artists! We have two Vha Mehlodhivestoile veterans returning, both of which have participated in Vha Mehlodhivestoile on four previous occasions, both missing out 2019. Lyrics: Vhe Qi, Daley Orion, Petre Lemetre

Petre: I am back for a fifth time! My name is Petre Lemetre and I'll be returning to Vha Mehlodhivestoile once again hoping that this year is finally my year! I don't think it was a hard decision to come back to Vha Mehlodhivestoile, I enjoy competing every year and so coming back - especially after not being able to do much this past year was on the cards. Working with Daley Orion and the winner of the 46th World Hit Festival, Vhe Qi, Iwe have come up with the perfect song that we think will do very well at the WorldVision Song Contest or World Hit Festival if I finally reach the top 4 of Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Rebellion is a...its an exciting song with loads of rooms for fire and lightning everywhere haha. Each year I've made progress, staying in the Semi, Battle stage and then making the final in the years after so I'm hoping that this is an upward trend. But I guess none of us will know whether I'm gonna do better or not at least until I perform in Jyske on the 3rd April which you can watch live on BVC One at 20:00 BST. Don't you dare miss it!

Laila Phiona - Second Chances
Language: English
Music: Raya Nicholls, Ryanne Hill
Lyrics: Holly Gilles, Kelly Brookes, Laila Phiona

FILMED IN KYVIVRE, BRITONISEA (W)

Laila: My name is Laila Phiona and I'll be singing the song, "Second Chances" at the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Some of you may know me from the Junior World Hit Festival nearly three and a half years ago when little 13 year old me represented Britonisea in Zoloroni, Mercedini. I came 2nd with 30 points - only 2 points behind the winners Alinghi Federal Democratic Republic - wow that is a mouthful! Anyway, I was selected through the Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures process so you could say that I have some - some - practise and I'm just really excited to get back to the VM bubble now as an older person. "Second Chances" is about...well second chances isn't it - it's pretty self-explanatory, it's a dramatic ballad, quite similar to the song I sent to World Hit Festival but with more adultish backing music. I would love to make a real scene of the stage and I have been planning what exactly to do on the stage come the 3rd April when my song is revealed to y'all! So...20:00 BST on BVC One live from Jyske - be there or be square.

Jason Reid - Truth

FILMED IN ARONYK, BRITONISEA (S)

Jason: Hola! My name is Jason Reid and I'm debuting at Vha Mehlodhivestoile this year with my song, "Truth". I think my song will be quite different from the rest of the contributions - not that I have listened to most of the other songs, it's just when thinking about the types of songs that Britonisea has sent in the past, this is offering something different - a different side to Britonisea that I am real excited to reveal to you all. What is "Truth" about? "Truth" is me rapping about the truths that we ignore in life. I think in the world there is a lot of blissful ignorance and you know, growing up I never used to understand all fo that - there's issues, worries and fears that we're all ignoring, like hello? My song, to me, is emotional and I have fallen in love with it and I think that everyone watching it will have strong opinions of it. It might be divisive, but I hope everyone loves it! The staging will be simplistic but effective, I don't need to have loads going on on the stage to put my point across. You'll be able to learn more about my entry very soon, on the 3rd of April live from Jyske on BVC One at 8pm BST! Goodbye, all.

Mya Richardson - Wild and Free
Language: English
Music: Bella Short, Jemma Berger, Leona Smith
Lyrics: Bella Short, Jemma Berger, Leona Smith
VM Record: 2016 (5th, Grand Final), 2017 (7th, Semi Final), 2018 (6th, Semi Final), 2020 (7th, Semi Final)

▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:57)
FILMED IN QUICKENDEN, BRITONISEA (S)

Mya: Lucky number 5! Hello my name is Mya Richardson and I'm best known for winning the 41st WorldVision Song Contest in my home city of Quickenden. I also came 5th a few editions before but we won't speak about that - though that was a great success...before I won in Quickenden haha! I'm returning to Vha Mehlodhivestoile for the fifth time because I need to get to that Grand Final - that's why! The last time I was in the Grand Final was in 2016 - that's like five years ago and I've tried and tried but I've never even gotten close so, you know what Britonisea, I'm gonna keep trying until I get to the final and "Return" to WorldVision! Do you like how I played on the lyrics of my WV38 song there? The song I am sending this edition is "Wild and Free" which sums me up really. Even though I'm ageing, I'm at the best position of life I've ever been, I feel great, wild and free and that's all my song is about. It's an uptempo track and I can't wait to sing it in Jyske on the 3rd April 2021 on BVC One! See you my lovelies.

Thank you for watching the Artist Reveal of the first four Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 semi finalists for Semi-Final 3. Come back on tomorrow (Saturday 1900 GMT) for the rest of the Semi-Final - the last five acts of VM2021!

BVC | VM2021 | Artist Reveal Semi-Final 3 | Acts 5-8

Postby Britonisea » Sat Feb 27, 2021 12:00 pm

Here are the final four acts of the 1st Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, including the Automatic Battle Stage qualifier who will perform with the rest on the 20th March 2021...

Yesterday, four brilliant artists were revealed. It was announced that Petre Lemetre and Mya Richardson will return both for the 5th time at Vha Mehlodhivestoile which is quite exciting news. Along with the pair of them, winner of Junior Vha Mehlodhivestoile, Laila Phiona is also set to replicate her success in Jyske. Finally, debutant Jason Reid is hoping to make a huge impact as a debutant at Vha Mehlodhivestoile.

This year is a bit different from the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format.

For the final four Semi-Finalists of VM2021, we have a trio who are all related to one another, a couple and two soloists - all of whom are debuting at the contest. We also have our Grand Finalist pre-qualifier!

Music: Karjohan Allard, Georgina Allard, Reis Allard
Lyrics: Karjohan Allard, Georgina Allard, Reis Allard

FILMED IN SWITHIQUE, BRITONISEA (SE)

Karjohan: Hello, I am Karjohan, she is Georgina and he is Reis Georgina: And together we make the group TR3SANGULIS! Reis: Our group name actually has quite a lot of thought to be honest! I mean apart from the 3 instead of an E haha! The word comes from the word for Triangle in Britonish - Treangulis - our on stage formation. We played on the word to add in sang which of course means blood in both French and Britonish. Karjohan: Yeah, in case you haven't noticed - we are all related! Our song "Ethereal" is just great to be honest! Georgina: The song...is truly ethereal, and it took us a long time to actually come up with the song and stuff. I'm happy it was good enough according to the standards of VM - which we know are really high especially after last year! Georgina: It'll have everybody off their seats, I promise! You'll be able to catch us perform "Ethereal" in Vha Mehlodhivestoile's 3rd Semi-Final! Don't miss out!

Language: English
Music: Alexander Nicholas, Riyah Price, James Embankment, Maria Torres

VM Record: Debutantes
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:56)
FILMED IN BOSCHKE, BRITONISEA (N)

Alex: Hello there, my name is Alex Riyah: Hi, I am Riyah and together we will try and represent Britonisea at the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest or World Hit Festival!Alex: We are hoping to do that with our song, "Do You Love Me?" which, I guess, is kind of country-pop? I'm not sure how to describe it! Riyah: Definitely more pop than country! It kind of reminds me of the VM entry a few years back by Believe when they send "Mother Never Taught Me" - that kinda feel. Alex: And in case you're wondering, Riyah and I are going out - yes! We've been going out since secondary school and so we've kinda grown up together. As young people, especially me I think, I struggled with, um, being open with my emotions for Riyah which is what is sung in "Do You Love Me?" but I know that now I'm better and I'm thankful for that. Riyah: Aw, it wasn't all you, I definitely didn't know how to handle my emotions too - we were both growing up, you know? This song is of us looking back and singing about all of that. Alex: And you'll be able to catch our performance on the 3rd April 2021, won't they babe? Riyah: Yes! Live from Jyske on BVC One at 20:00 - please watch and vote for us! Thank you!

Samuel Garrison - Riptide
Language: English, Scotatrovan
Music: Shaugna Yates, Paula Banks, Samuel Garrison
Lyrics: Ayden Amsterdam, Henry Ghost, Manley Hamilton, Yves St Piers
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:13)
FILMED IN KYVIVRE, BRITONISEA (W)

Samuel: Hello everyone, I'm Samuel Garrison and I'm from Kyvivre. I didn't think that I would be here, it was definitely a goal of mine as I went through college and university but it feels surreal that I'm actually preparing to perform on stage. My song is called "Riptide" and it is quite a sad song, actually, it's about trying to find someone that you lost, someone that you love, even if the universe is trying to do everything in its power to keep you and that person you love apart. The song contains some Scotatrovan lyrics as well which was inspired by a placement that I did abroad where I spent many months being immersed in Scotatrovan culture and the language. I have some heritage from Scotatrova too, so I wanted to check the country out and I absolutely loved it. Having the language in the song made it personal to me and I think Britons, regardless of whether they know what the lyrics mean, will feel the connection that I have with the song. Whew! Right, you'll be able to see me perform the song on the 4th April 2021 at 20:00 BST on BVC One. Cannot wait to see you all there, it'll be amazing!

Zoey Stratis - Where Am I?
Language: English
Music: Mark Walling, Christopher Gycon, T:Rodden, Nivida Smith
Lyrics: Zoey Stratis
VM Record: Debutante
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (00:58)
FILMED IN JYSKE, BRITONISEA (S)

Zoey: Hi all, my name is Zoey Statris calling from Jsyke and I'm making my big debut here at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. I feel so, so, so nervous about being the final Semi-Final song of Vha Mehlodhivestoile - of course, I am! This is the spot Kelsey Banques won from last year and so I have a lot to live up to, don't I haha! My song is an emotional ballad about entrapment and not knowing where you are or where you come from. I am working with Chris Gycon and Mark Walling - both of whom have written WorldVision Song Contest songs before and T:Rodden who was behind the winning 50th World Hit Festival entry as well some other 2nd placed WorldVision Song Contest songs. I am also working with Nivida who is making her VM debut like me! As a team, we made a song which I can relate to a lot and I'm looking forward to performing this with the staging that we've got planned - it'll be fun! You'll be able to catch this performance on the 3rd April 2021 on BVC One when we go live from my hometown - Jyske! Bye!

In addition to the eight performances of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021's third Semi-Final, the automatic qualifier to the Grand Final will be performing their song in full during the interval act. The chosen singer came 3rd last year at Vha Mehlodhivestoile...

Tobias Noah - Round and Round
Language: English
Music: Jourdain Carter, Jamie Banks, Tobias Noah
Lyrics: Tiara Parks, Tobias Noah
VM Record: 2020 (3rd, Grand Final)
▶️ PLAY MEDIA (01:13)
FILMED IN BOSCOMBARD, BRITONISEA (NW)

Tobias: My name is Tobias Noah and I will be returning to Vha Mehlodhivestoile after what was a successful year last year! Now, I remember this time last year when my little artist reveal was announced and one thing that I said was that I wanted to win but of course the great Kelsey Banques did an absolutely fantastic job and blew her competition out of the water and rightly so especially winning Vha Mehlodhivestoile. My prize was the fact that I won the Britionish televote and this year, I'm hoping to not only do that but also win over the Jury! My song, "Round and Round" is a lot more poppy than my previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2020 efforts. There's still a little spoken rap-kind of thing part in there but most of it is a modern pop song which I think will appeal to a lot more people than my song did last year. I am working with the same team as I did last year, Jourdain and Jamie with a new addition, Tiara Parks, who helped me on the lyrics-front. I actually can't wait to perform on the stage and while I'll be performing competitively for the first time at the Grand Final which is in two months time, I will debut my song on the 3rd April live from Jyske on BVC One at 20:00 BST. I look forward to seeing you there.

Here is the stage!

STAGE REVEAL

Ahead of the Pre-Qualifiers in Cappehnyaden in six days, here is information regarding the thing we have all been waiting for - the stage of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021...

This year, the stage for Vha Mehlodhivestoile is set to be the largest made in the contest's history but it won't be as complex to make as the previous editions. Featuring three LED walls that can be made to look as though it is one, this is the biggest LED wall offered at Vha Mehlodhivestoile to date; rivalling the sizes seen at the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival. On each side LED wall, there are exits and entrances were dances can come off and on and of course our wonderful hosts. There will be space between the stage and the audience to ensure social distancing between the artists and the people who are allowed in the audience (during their performance), but can be used for interval performances and speaking each act during any breaks.

The stage isn't as complex as the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile stages as te team at BVC wanted to make it as easily replicable as possible meaning that not as many construction workers will be needed to put up the stage in each city. In order to spice the stage up, there are LED light strips that make geometric shapes that come out from the side of the stage. These light strips are highly effective and bring out intense colours.

Image

For songs that may require orchestral elements, there is an orchestra pit on the left of the stage (from the point of view of the audience). This area can also be a point where the hosts and each act has an interview. As you can see from both images below and above, the stage will not be sort of any strobe lights that will grace the large stage floor. The stage floor is large meaning a lot can happen on the stage - especially when considering social distancing. There are strobe lights along the sides of the stage floor as well which can create spectacular effects. Similarly with Vha Mehlodhivestoile in the past, pyrotechnics and holographic effects will both be on offer for each artist at the discretion of the stage designers.

Image

We have also redesigned the voting sign into a star! Before, the number of who was performing (ie 08 Kelsey Banques) would light up and begin to electrify when a lot of people were voting at the time. This year, we have introduced the star which we believe makes more sense; since Vha Mehlodhivestoile is The Star Song after all! The star will start off dim, not emitting any light whatsoever. As more and more people begin to vote, the star starts to glow gold (seen in Arvin Dalir's However Long It Takes). As we reach maximum popularity, the star will start sparkling (as seen in Kelsey Banques' Indestructible). This could change throughout the performance and fluctuate between full popularity and no popularity at all. We believe this makes it a lot clearer than before and hopefully more exciting for everyone!

Come back at 19:00 GMT when we reveal the first two Vha Mehlodhivestoile Pre-Qualifiers who will perform on Saturday for their chance in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021.

Official credits for the stage (Check out more pictures!).

BVC | VM2021 | Artist + Song Reveal Intl. Qualifiers | Acts

Postby Britonisea » Mon Mar 01, 2021 12:00 pm

Image

Here are the first four songs of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021! These four acts will perform on the 6th March, live from Cappehnyaden on BVC One...

This year is a bit different from the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format.

Another difference in this edition is that International Submissions will not mingle with their Britonish counterparts until the Grand Final or Battle Stage. 1 act from the International Submissions will go straight to the Grand Final. It is expected that on the 6th, all acts will perform with the voting lines being open for a week afterwards (all 10 acts will perform, there will be interviews with each of them and the lines will close in a 30 minute special during the weekend where no live shows take place). While this is not confirmed fully yet, it is expected that the Battle Stage qualifiers from the International Submissions will be announced in Semi-Final 1 and 2, whilst the Grand Finalist will be announced in Semi-Final 3.

Gabi: Hi, everyone! My name's Gabi Hunt! I started on as a songwriter for several famous Anturian artistes until i decided to write music for myself. This song, "Lucky Charm" is very sensuous, essentially its about a person gifted with immense luck, who is trying to seduce? I don't know if that's the right word, trying to seduce their crush so that they can also experience the same luckiness, hence the title. I hope you enjoy this song as much as i do, don't forget to vote for me!

Pat: Hei Hei, It's me. Pat Miaz. I'm 20 years old and from the little nation that could, Beepee. I've recently started my musical career and I'm keen to see where my career goes. Being the first Beepeean to perform at Mehlodhivestoile is a great privilege and honour and I want to do my very best and make everyone proud. I'm really excited to be performing the song "Everything I Want". The song is so upbeat and fun, I have such a good time performing it. I hope you all like it.

Maveria: Hi Britonisea! I’m Maveria, I’m originally from Belgaam, and I will be participating in this year’s Vha Mehlodhivestoile. You might recognise me for a few reasons. I’m the most streamed Belgaamian artist, and I actually represented Belgaam in WorldVision 81, which was coincidentally held in Britonisea! Anyway, more about the song. I’m going to sing “No Thanks”, which is a bit more poppy than my WorldVision song, “Drowning”, and it’s a bit like an answer to it, as that song was about not being able to decide if you wanted to be with your boyfriend, girlfriend or whatever, but now you’re just like “I’ve made my decision, I don’t need you” and stuff like that. Anyway I will see you in Vha Mehlodhivestoile, don’t miss it!

BVC | VM2021 | Artist + Song Reveal Intl. Qualifiers | Acts

Postby Britonisea » Thu Mar 04, 2021 4:35 am

Image

Here are the first four songs of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021! These two acts will perform on the 6th March, live from Cappehnyaden on BVC One...

This year is a bit different from the previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile years in terms of the format.

Daniel Makala: Hey everyone, my name is Daniel Makala and it is my great pleasure to be part of Vha Mehlodivestoile this year. I was born and raised in Tushlark, however, Britonisea and the whole ABEN region has gained itself a special spot in my heart. It's a place where I've never felt like a stranger or an outsider and where I'm always looking forward to return. Music has been a major part of my life for the past fifteen years. When it comes to music, I feel that sometimes, words alone are just not enough to truly pass on one's emotions and music is something that gives an individual a way to express their thoughts and their feelings in it's purest form. With my song, i'm trying to address some aspects of life and human relationships in general. I hope you guys find something in it that you can relate to and if you enjoy it, I really appreciate your support.

Gabi: Hello everyone, my name is Lynette and I will be singing the song, "Rendezvous" at the 6th Vha Mehlodhivestoile. I was born in Malinley in Rhim Flavezztowland, but I'm half Britonish on my father's side. I've had some success in the past, I used to be part of a group called Harmonix for six years after I decided to split from them about 5 to 6 years ago. You'll be able to see all of this when I perform this Saturday!

I was born in Valinkova, Polkopia originally, but came to perform for you all in Britonisea because I would like to share my art with you all, and evoke the same emotions with my songs as I do back home. I love what I do and I love performing in front of new audiences who may appreciate what it is I am trying to convey with my songs. Esther: Hiiiii! I'm Esther Winterbourne and I'll be singing "Shine" at the upcoming Vha Med... Mehlodhi...ves... umm... toile! Born and bred in Llalta, you may have heard of my name from the countless World Hit Festivals and WorldVisions I have participated in for Llalta! As of now... around... um... 6... no, 7 participations! Most significantly, I won back in Tiferet, Ertzei Kishim with my song "Fate", where I received the most points in WorldVision history, and was Llalta's very first win! I suppose I am very honoured to have brought such victories, fame and... worldwide recognition to the nation I call home. Even though I reside in Telm City nowadays 'cuz of uni... student stuff! I really have grown attached to Britonisea though! Hence... this Vha Mehlodiv... participation! Plus, back in Llalta Vha Me... this contest is a very big deal and to be participating is amazing! Britonisea is a whole other playing field to Llalta, and the music is amazing! I'm also really excited to reveal my song to the Britonish public... as they have been so very nice to me during my time here! I hope you all enjoy my new song 'cuz... it's a song that combines everything I've learnt from Llaltese music and infuses it with the music I hear on the radio here in Britonisea, combining the best of both! Just like me, I suppose! As a result, it's something very different and I'm super excited to show you all!

Here is your VM2021 Weekly Schedule!

Postby Britonisea » Mon Mar 15, 2021 1:36 pm

Image
HERE IS YOUR VHA MEHLODHIVESTOILE WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Image
This is what the next three weeks look like: Ahead of each Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, we will be slowly releasing information about the show.

Mondays: The entry information will be released on the newly made VM Bible! It is not quite ready yet, but will be ready along with the snippet released on Wednesday. The entry bible will give you more information about each of the songs, including the genre of the song, special effects that the staging has, the number of camera cues in each of the song and more about each of the participating artists. It's a great insight into Vha Mehlodhivestoile and will quench the thirst of those who need constant updates from us!

Tuesdays: In the world of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, Tuesday is the first day that the crew gets into the arena and starts the rehearsals for the segments in between the show - you can find out the crew's timetable here. We will be busy at work so there won't be anything on Tuesday!

Wednesdays: The 30-second snippets are released on the newly made VM Bible! Songs will be revealed at 21:00 GMT. Why so late? Wednesday is the first day that all the acts take to the stage for the first time. As mentioned in the crew's timetable link, in the morning the first four acts get forty minutes on the stage each, while the other four are on stage between 2pm to 6pm. The song releases at 21:00 means that we can have some dinner and make sure everything is published in one peace - not a minute early or a minute late!

Thursday: It's another busy day for us at the VM2021 HQ and so it's another busy day! So no news here.

Friday: Odds will need over 24 hours to react to the snippets and other promos they have decided to do in the host city (in past editions, some acts have had gigs in nightclubs, busk or perform in squares/plazas etc). We will release the official odds of all the participants from the Britonish Selection + those who are qualified via the international submission.

Saturday: It's live show time! Nothing more needs to be said, really!

Sunday: We will wrap up the events of the National Final here - who qualified and other information including the viewership received (overnight figures).

It's time to get ready, VM2021 is here!

YOUR FINAL UPDATE AHEAD OF SEMI-FINAL ONE

Image
Official odds: Aaliyah Banques, after the win of her sister last year, is the favourite to win the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021; automatic finalist, Tobias Noah is in 4th.

The VM2021 Semi-Final One Family show has just gone underway in Cappehnyaden as the odds predict that Aaliyah Banques (Semi-Final 3) will win Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021...

With VM2021 Semi-Final One's Family show begins in Cappehnyaden an hour ago, we thought that it would be a great time to release the official odds to have a look at what they predict ahead of the Grand Final. The results have been affected by the recent reveal of the Semi-Final One songs, but despite this, it seems as though the hype driving the people in other Semi-Finals is pushing them far up the scoreboard. Aaliyah Banques is at the top after her sister's win last year both at Vha Mehlodhivestoile and WorldVision Song Contest. Aaliyah is no newbie to the international stage as she represented Nightom at the World Hit Festival before, coming 4th in a competitive field. She will be hoping to score better here and go on to represent Britonisea and aim for nothing short of a top 3 placement. Mello Cinde from Semi-Final 2 and Zoey Stratis from Semi-Final 3 follow right behind Aaliyah Banques before there is quite a gap between Tobias Noah, this year's Grand FInal automatic qualifier and TOULOUSE - a group that qualified via the Battle Stage last year.

Rochelle Fox is the highest charter from the upcoming Semi-Final 1 with her odds at 18/1 which is still pretty high. According to these odds, it suggests that TR3SANGULIS has a fighting chance of winning, thus more likely to qualify directly to the Grand FInal. J3 draw with TR3SANGULIS due to their immense popularity in Britonisea - but their fame didn't help them in their most recent Vha Mehlodhivestoile entry. Looking at the bottom end of the odds, Ben & Jay, who open with a Britonish languaged uptempo hit are 150/1 to win alongside Lukas Guerin who is the least favourite to win Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Lukas will be qualifying through the Battle Stages International v Britonish section. This might make it harder for him to get to the final, but Aria Cohen's odds are at 60/1 after her song was revealed.

Who is going to qualify? It won't be long until we find out!

You will be able to vote after 22:00 GMT Saturday 20 March 2021 using this link right here!

YOUR FINAL UPDATE AHEAD OF SEMI-FINAL TWO

Image
Official odds: After the snippet release, the now-three time VM participant Mello Cinde is in poll position to win Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 .Aaliyah Banques fades to 2nd, with Tobias in 3rd.

The VM2021 Semi-Final Two Jury show is currently underway in Boscombard as the odds predict Mello Cinde will win Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021.

The full songs of the 2nd Semi-Final have been released for 24 hours now, with the betting odds making significant changes to some of the odds. Ahead of the qualification of Rochelle Fox, her odds went from 18/1 to 10/1. For the other Grand Finalist, Josh Morris, his odds went from 100/1 to 10/1 to match Rochelle's odds. This was one of the largest slashing of odds with his unexpected performance helping him have a good chance of winning the contest. Aaliyah Banques' odds did slightly fade but she is still the second favourite to win the contest.

When looking at the results for Semi-Final 2, we can begin to infer that the odds suggest that Mello Cinde and Zoe Wilkinson, who moved to Semi-Final 2 as of yesterday, will qualify to the Grand Final directly, whereas Samuel Garrison and ELLA or Xavier Benchek will follow closely behind, going via the Battle Stage. The competition is very close this week, whereas last week some people said that the results were very clear. The odds aren't always correct, as they didn't think Elias Deichmann or Josh Morris would qualify so it's best to take these odds with a pinch of salt.

Who is going to qualify? It won't be long until we find out!

You will be able to vote after 22:00 GMT Saturday 27 March 2021 using this link right here!

Ahead of tonight's Grand Final...

Postby Britonisea » Sat Apr 24, 2021 1:50 am

Image
AHEAD OF TONIGHT'S GRAND FINAL

Image
There will be a record fourteen juries: Britonisea will have more power than ever as there will be 14 Britonish voting areas for the non-app televotes.

Tonight, 22,000 people will be packing into the National Arena of Aloquirbe ahead of tonight's Grand Final which takes place at 8pm Britonish Time. The 6th winner of Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be crowned...

It has been announced how the votes will be added up this time around. Due to the integration of the televote in WorldVision Song Contest, Vha Mehlodhivestoile will reflect this by including their own televote in similar vein to that of the WorldVision one. Firstly, we will go around to the 15 (or 16) international juries, who will give their points out in WorldVision format. We will then go straight to the Britonish non-app votes, which will be announced in a similar way to the international juries. By the end of it, there will have been 30 12-1 being given out - comparable to that of the WorldVision Song Contest. We will then go to the app televotes, which is both from national Britonish fans and international ones too. The app votes will give us a televote score which will be announced right at the end in order of the app televote's 12th to 1st.

The winner will be crowned and will be sent to the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest with the runner-up being sent in the edition afterward.

BVC will then choose two acts to go and represent them in "upcoming World Hit Festivals" which insiders say means the 59th World Hit Festival and 61st editions.

Announcing the points for the non-app televotes are;
  • Alexandre Augustin for North - Alexandre represented Britonisea at the 56th World Hit Festival with his song, "Enchante" which placed 2nd in Todlichebujoku.
  • Dean Boyst for Ghiezland and Boschke - Dean Boyst represented Britonisea at the 37th World Hit Festival with "I'm Hurting Too" which won the competition in Kalosia and brought the Festival to Britonisea for the third time...at the time!
  • Amedeo Arjan will present the points for Northwest - Amedeo represented Britonisea at the 48th WorldVision Song Contest where he placed 12th.
  • Rigas Jengiz will present for West - Rigas Jengiz has represented Britonisea on multiple occasions, coming 1st and 2nd at the World Hit Festival and WorldVision Song Contest respectively. She also has hosted the World Hit Festival as well.
  • Adonis Amedee for South - Adonis represented Britonisea at the 35th World Hit Festival in Junterapten (alongside Rigas Jengiz) where the duo placed 5th.
  • Mehkl Maddox-Ajax for Central - Mehkl Maddox-Ajax represented Britonisea at the 55th WorldVision Song Contest after winning Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2017. He placed 9th in the Izmedu-Todlichebujoku - wherever it was.
  • Taron Woods for Quickenden - Taron is the most recent male winner of the contest, having won in 2018 with his Britonish hit song "Cy Ecouto Teuten Vokse" which went onto win WorldVision Song Contest 64 in Nekoni.
  • Alyxhia Willis for Boundary - Alyxhia won Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2019 and went onto to win the WorldVision Song Contest with style at the 73rd WorldVision Song Contest in The Estograd, Estogium.
  • Dawn Abide for East - Dawn Abide is a music personality who presents the music morning show Chart Topping Tunes on TBE. She is excited to present the votes for East.
  • MC Teknik for City - Presenting for Telm City is MC Teknik who represents the more urban scene that is taking hold of the city, hoping to add a bit of flare and flavour to Vha Mehlodhivestoile's point reveal.
  • Charlotte Davies for Dopor - Calling live from Deghnby in the Doportedas Authority is Charlotte, who recently won the WorldVision Song Contest for Britonisea in Polkopia with an outstanding 242 points!
  • KAYLEY for Junterapten - Vha Mehlodhivestoile veteran, KAYLEY will be back to present the votes for Junterapten. This is after her two top four placements at Vha Mehlodhivestoile and another top ten placement for Britonisea a few editions ago.
  • Gigi Vadebonceour for Capital - Presenting from Doportedas City is Gigi who represented Britonisea at the 48th World Hit Festival in Llalta which saw her win the festival in the ABEN 1-2.
  • Ash Kaplan for Aloquirbe - Not only will he open the show but he will scrub up to present the votes for Aloquirbe!

Tonight, the full voting breakdown will also be announced here so keep an eye out for that! We hope you enjoy tonight's show - BVC One at 20:00!

Josh Morris has won the 59th World Hit Festival in the Achaean Republic with 42 points - with the second-largest points lead ever at the Festival...

Britonisea's record at the World Hit Festival has been pretty good - with the country recovering from consecutive editions outside the top 5 after a bumpy start to the 50s decade. At the 56th World Hit Festival, Alexandre took Britonisea to 2nd place - only a few points away from victory. After scoring a 5th place thanks to James Benamar and another podium position from Liam Narain, it was finally Britonisea's edition to win with Josh scoring 42 points in the end with his song, "Mine" which is about the breakdown of a past relationship and the regrets he has for the decisions he took during one fateful night.

Britonisea's win is the nation's highest-scoring total in a non-Semi-Final edition, with Josh Morris winning 15 points clear of Kalosia who finished second. 15 points is one of the largest point-gaps in World Hit Festival history, only being beaten by Izmedu's 16 point lead over Britonisea at the 30th World Hit Festival. Josh Morris' song is the sixth Vha Mehlodhivestoile song to go onto win either the WorldVision Song Contest or World Hit Festival (one per year). Josh will certainly have a long and prosperous career in Britonisea!

VM2022 | Official Rules

OFFICIAL RULES FOR VM2022

It has been confirmed that Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be returning for the seventh year running. The event will begin on the 26th March 2022, with the final set on 30th April - the lastest VM yet...

It has been announced that the three cities that will be hosting the Semi-Finals of the seventh Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be Boschke, Eaux and Junterapten, with the latter two having waited five years or more since the last time they hosted a leg of the competition. We return to Kyvivre for the Battle Stage for the first time in five years as well, with Doportedas hosting their first Vha Mehlodhivestoile final - it will be hosted in the Doportedas Olympic Stadium and will hold the joint-most for Vha Mehlodhivestoile Grand Final in terms of capacity - we're so excited for it! Below, we've confirmed the rules for the upcoming competition:

OFFICIAL RULES FOR VM2022

International Artists: Unlike the 2021 season of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, there will no longer be an international pre-qualification stage before the main event. International Artists will be able to submit a song for Vha Mehlodhivestoile in the new year (though the announcement that song lines are open may come sooner), with song submissions opening for a month only. A maximum of three international artists will be allowed in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022, one for each semi-Final but BVC is under no obligation to accept any international submissions. Submissions will be subjected to one song per singer.

Format of the Show: Vha Mehlodhivestoile will continue in its usual structure with there being three semi-finals, a battle stage and a grand final. Unlike the 2021 season, all arenas will be at full capacity as they were during the first to the fifth season of the competition, with the lowest capacity over the course of the show being 20,000 people. The first semi-final will happen on the 26th March 2022 with the grand final on the 30th April 2022. Each semi-final will consist of eight (8) artists, with Britonisea having an equal proportion to voting as the nations that are voting in it, combined. 50% Britonish Votes (25% Jury, 25% Televote) and 50% International Votes (25% Jury, 25% Televote). A total of 8 nations maximum will be allowed to vote in a semi-final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile as we have found this to be the optimal number to gain enough information on how the international votes will go in the final. With 8 nations having voted in each semi-final in the past, we will also be able to directly compare each show. Nations will give out [12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 4, 2, 0] to give a total of 50 points. At the end of each show, the top two artists will qualify for the grand final in Doportedas (six overall) with third and fourth place qualifying to the battle stage which will take place in Kyvivre. Only a maximum of three international juries will be used at the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Currently, there are three options that are being explored for the battle stage and the chosen option will be confirmed at a later date. The number of participants in Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be announced at a later date, but the number will be no less than 24 and no more than 26. 10 acts will make it to the Grand Final, similar to the first four editions of the song contest. For the Grand Final, international juries may choose between a televote or a jury vote but it must be converted into the Worldvision point system [12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1]. International juries will only give out one set of scores. Around 40% of the final vote will be from the Britonish televote which will also be converted into WorldVision point system. This system was last used at the fifth edition of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, but there will be no less than six Britonish voting areas. The winner at the end of the grand final will go on to represent Britonisea at the WorldVision Song Contest while BVC will choose a selection of finalists to consider at the World Hit Festivals.

We are looking very much forward to the seventh edition of Vha Mehlodhivestoile and we will be in touch with more information soon...

VM2022 International submissions are open!

INTERNATIONAL SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!
Image

BVC have decided for the 5th time in Vha Mehlodhivestoile history to open the floor to International Submissions. Artists from around the Multiverse will be able to submit entries for the next 40 days until the 31st January 2022, 23:59 GMT.

This year we are yet again opening the lines for international submissions. Vha Mehlodhivestoile has not always had their international submissions open but due to the success of some of them both at the WorldVision/World Hit Festival and on the charts in Britonisea, we believe that having international submissions is a great inclusion to Vha Mehlodhivestoile and adds much more hype. This year, a total of 25 songs will compete in Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Below, you can find the rules of the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile.

"The rules of the 7th Vha Mehlodhivestoile will go as follows. Vha Mehlodhivestoile will continue in its usual structure with there being three semi-finals, a battle stage and a grand final. Currently, there are three options that are being explored for the battle stage and the chosen option will be confirmed at a later date. The number of participants in Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be 25 (subject to change). 10 acts will make it to the Grand Final, similar to the first four editions of the song contest. Please SEND this to Britonisea before 31st January 2022. A user is free to submit songs for the International Submission stage. Please read the terms and conditions before you submit this form.

Terms and Conditions
  • Britonisea and BVC have the right to stop accepting international submissions prematurely or cancel the international submissions period at any point.
  • Britonisea and BVC are under no obligation to accept any international submissions. The decisions to accept international submissions will be made based on the current selection of the songs by the 25 Britonish acts who have been listed as The Britonish Selection.
  • The Britonish Selection will not have their place confirmed until after the closure of the International Submission Period. If BVC feel the International Submissions are better than some of The Britonish Selection, the International Submissions will simply replace them. The Returning Automatic Finalist has their place confirmed.
  • All artists will receive confirmation whether they have gotten through to the next stage or the process or not. BVC can reject an artist before the 31st January 2022 deadline. All artists will be contacted by the 7th February 2022.
  • Entries that are inflammatory, discriminatory, disrespectful, or put Vha Mehlodhivestoile into disrepute will be rejected and will not be seriously considered.
  • There will only be one international artist per semi-final maximum.
  • Entries must be between 2 minutes and 6 minutes to be considered. Entries that fall outside of this limit will be rejected and will not be seriously considered.
  • A single nation is not limited to the number of entrants that they can send to participate in the submissions of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022. A single artist can send up to two (2) songs, but both will not go through to the Live Shows.
  • Britonisea and BVC have the right to withdraw an Artist or song once it has been accepted if it breaks the Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022 Terms and Conditions after the Artist has been accepted. This includes rejecting any Artist who decides to enter their song into another song contest or has other commitments during the Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022 period.
  • Britonisea and BVC will not consider songs that have been plagiarised. (ie songs already used at WorldVision/WHF will be rejected)
  • Artists who are banned from Britonisea will not be accepted.

Please don't rush to send a song, but if you have the intention to, do let me know on telegram or DM (but do send your applications to telegrams only so I can have all submissions in one place). If you sent a song, say, in December but found another song you want to send, while you can't replace the song, you can simply submit another song - there's not a limit.
