YOUR VM2022 HOSTS REVEALED!

(Left to right) Xavier Benchek, Alyxhia Willis and Matt Evans will present all five Vha Mehlodhivestoile which begins on the 26th March in Boschke...

With 76 days separating us from Vha Mehlodhivestoile, it has been revealed that Xavier Benchek, Alyxhia Willis and Matt Evans will be presenting Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022. Unlike in previous editions, where hosts would change throughout the month, these three will be present in all five Vha Mehlodhivestoile live shows. During the Semi-Finals, two of them will be the main hosts while one of them will be in the Greenroom, with the Greenroom host switching every week. For the Battle Stage and Grand Final, all three hosts would rotate being in the Greenroom and being on the main stage. Below, you can find out more about each of the hosts and why they're perfect for Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022.

  • Xavier Benchek debuted at Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021 in Semi-Final 2. Xavier's song "Demons" was a hit and was an international jury favourite, with the song automatically qualifying to the final of the competition with 89 points in what was described to be the closest Semi-Final to date. Xavier finished 8th in the Grand Final, which for a debutant is quite a good result. Xavier was heavily rumoured to participate at Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022 and said that he was considering it. However, he was approached to host the competition to add a young and fresh edge to the national final and here he is!
  • Alyxhia Willis first burst onto the WV/WHF scene at the 67th WorldVision Song Contest when she sang the song "You've Wanted Me". She came 2nd in Darkmania before entering Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2019. There, she was the 2nd out of 25 to perform her song and won her Semi-Final by 15 points. She then went on to win the Grand Final by the slimmest of margins. She went to Estogium for the 73rd WorldVision Song Contest and managed to beat Izmedu - one of the pre-contest favourites - to win Britonisea's fifth WorldVision title. Alyxhia knows the ins and outs of Vha Mehlodhivestoile and will be able to provide some advice on how to be a winner!
  • Matt Evans is our final host, and while he isn't known in the same regard as Xavier and Alyxhia, Matt served as one of the hosts of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021. Matt is a director and a news presenter who is on morning television. Matt Evans is known particularly for being a content creator, with his total number of followers doubling since his stint on Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021. Matt is very capable and while he wasn't at the forefront last year, he is more than ready to entertain alongside Alyxhia and Xavier.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be revealing the three international battle stage jurors and also the closing of the international submissions.

VM2022 International Juries Revealed

Postby Britonisea » Fri Jan 21, 2022 1:11 pm

Image
YOUR VM2022 INTERNATIONAL JURIES REVEALED!

Image

On the 16th April 2022, we will return to Kyvivre for the Battle Stage. For the first time since 2019, there will only be three International Juries as they decide the final three acts who will qualify to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile!

History of Juries
2017 - Euskirribakondara
2018 - Antahbrantahstan, Togonistan, Izmedu
2019 - Todlichebujoku, Darkmania, Besen
2020 - Scotatrova, Polkopia, Mercedini, Achaean Republic, Estogium
2021 - Ertzei Kishim, Natanya, Beepee, Waisnor
2022 - Scotatrova, Axuva, South Batoko

The news is out that our three international juries are Scotatrova, Axuva and South Batoko - we cannot wait to work with them! Scotatrova is the first nation to appear twice as an International Jury nation, with the nation present at the 2020 edition of the competition. The nation is the most successful of the three, with the country recently winning the World Hit Festival and hosting the upcoming one! Scotatrova will be joined by Axuva - a nation that has been speculated by many Vha Mehlodhivestoile fans over the years. Axuva's broadcaster recently hosted the WorldVision Song Contest in Nakom, Yvesia, where Axuva placed a respectable 12th with 131 points. Last but not least in South Batoko who used to frequent the WV/WHF scene. South Batoko will be the regional support this edition, providing a bit of Novapax flair to the team.

We are moving closer and closer to the start of the Britfest, with the International Submissions closing in exactly 10 days. We will confirm the final list of participants in the coming weeks after the submissions close. In the meantime, you'll hear more about the staging and preparation for Vha Mehlodhivestoile. We will also reveal the final design for the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022 soon - you didn't think the above design was the final one, did you?!

New Design, Format Revealed & Line-Up COMPLETE!

OFFICIAL VM2022 FORMAT REVEALED

OOC Voting begins 19 March 2022

"The rules of the 7th Vha Mehlodhivestoile will go as follows. Vha Mehlodhivestoile will continue in its usual structure with there being three semi-finals, a battle stage and a grand final. The first semi-final will happen on the 26th March 2022 with the grand final on the 30th April 2022. Each semi-final will consist of eight (8) artists, with the Britonish votes accounting for 50% of the overall total. This year, there will be eight (8) voting areas per Semi-Final, including the usual six televoting areas (North, Central, East, City, Capital and Aloquirbe). The seventh group will be a demoscopic jury made of 620 people representing the 62 million people in Britonisea who will watch the show's rehearsal the day before along with the final group - The Professionals. A group of 10 music industry experts will be the final "voting area". We've decided to make these changes to give the average Briton more of a chance for their voice to be heard. A total of 8 nations maximum will be allowed to vote in a semi-final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile as we have found this to be the optimal number to gain enough information on how the international votes will go in the final. With 8 nations having voted in each semi-final in the past, we will also be able to directly compare each show. Nations will give out [12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 4, 2, 0] to give a total of 50 points. At the end of each show, the top two artists will qualify for the grand final in Doportedas (six overall) with third and fourth place qualifying to the battle stage which will take place in Kyvivre. The battles will be judged by Scotatrova, South Batoko and Axuva. There will be no international televote during the Semi-Finals.

"10 acts will make it to the Grand Final, similar to 2016, 2018 and 2019. For the Grand Final, international juries will vote in the Worldvision point system [12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1] and will be joined by a Britonish Jury. Around 33% of the final vote will be from the Britonish televote. Regardless of the number of international juries, the Britonish televote will be giving out no less than 348 points. A minute after the 10th song, voting lines will freeze. There will not be a voting sequence and we will find out our top 3 acts relatively soon after the voting lines freeze. The top three will then qualify to the Superfinal to decide their fate. Voting lines will reopen and the acts will perform again. A minute after the last song, voting lines will close. There will be a voting sequence made up of 100% televote (international included) which will give us the winner of the 7th Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022.

"The number of participants in Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be 25."

VM2022 LINE-UP COMPLETE

All International Submissions have been responded to and we have the 25 names that will participate in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022. This year, there will not be a 1-minute clip introducing each of the acts. Instead, on an unconfirmed date between Friday 25th February and Sunday 6th March, we will drop the names of the 25 participants alongside the names of their songs. Instead of the clips, there will be a press conference which will be streamed live on the Mehlodhivestoile YouTube page. There will be four quick rounds of conferences during the live stream, one for Semi-Final 1, Semi-Final 2, Semi-Final 3 and the Hosts, Producers and Directors. If the International Acts are not present in the country, they will be streamed in via Skype or Zoom. Furthermore, the songs of the 7th Vha Mehlodhivestoile will be revealed on 13th March 2022 at 20:00 GMT - exactly one month from now!

So, we will see you at the Press Conference in over two weeks time and then again at the First Semi-Final in Boschke - see you then!

ACTS OF VHA MEHLODHIVESTOILE 2022 REVEALED!

It's not long until you hear the beautiful orchestration of the VM2022 opening titles as the show is expected to hit our screens in just three weeks' time for the seventh edition. It's not long until we find the next Britonish star and we certainly have a star-studded line-up this year. A Press Conference was held earlier today, where we got to meet the hosts, automatic qualifier and the acts of each Semi-Final. Here is a round-up of those involved in VM2022 this year.

Image
Image
Automatic Qualifier & Hosts

Automatic Qualifier: Josh Morris

Josh Morris will return to Vha Mehlodhivestoile after qualifying directly to the final from Semi-Final 1, coming third in the final and winning the 59th World Hit Festival in Achaean Republic with his song, "Mine". During the Press Conference, Josh said that he was "super excited to be back after the best year of his life...despite the circumstances". Josh has a lot to be proud of, his song, "Mine" has continually stayed in the Britonish Top 150 for the past year. You will hear him perform his VM2022 contribution during the third Semi-Final in Junterapten. Host, Xavier Benchek will be on the other side of the fence this year, as he helps present the show alongside Alyxhia Willis - the winner of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2019 and Matt Evans - who presented last year. With Vha Mehlodhivestoile returning to normal capacity, they all look forward to a VM2022 and have teased that the songs this year are all fantastic.

Image
Semi Final 1 - Boschke
01 Claudia Ferrari 02 Rocco Verlice 03 TOULOUSE 04 Dr. Dan ft Fender 05 EVOLUTION 06 Mya Richardson 07 Jairo Allen 08 Charlotte's Party

During the Press Conference, we had a little section for the Semi-Final 1 artists. 36-year-old Claudia Ferrari will be opening the show in Boschke. Claudia is a newbie to Vha Mehlodhivestoile, but will be singing a big sing to welcome the audience to what is expected to be a highly competitive edition of Britonisea's favourite music entertainment show. Another debutant, Rocco Verlice will follow Claudia Ferrari. At 21, Rocco is the youngest singer in Semi-Final 1 but don't underestimate him, his song is set to get the crowd on their feet! TOULOUSE will be the third act performing at this year's Vha Mehlodhivestoile. You might remember them from last year. Their song, "Pointe-Ouiser" was a hit with the international juries, but that didn't translate with the Britonish, meaning they missed out on a qualifiers spot. TOULOUSE are Vha Mehlodhivestoile veterans, however. The three piece group sent "Secroussué" to VM2020 and came 5th in the final...will it be third time lucky for them? Following them are international submission ticketholders, Dr. Dan ft Fender. Dr. Dan, or Daniela Ramírez will be pairing up with Fender to see whether they can crack the Britonish market. Dr. Dan has some history at the WorldVision Song Contest, having been behind Elejamie's entry for the 79th WorldVision Song Contest - which came 7th. Alongside Fender, she will be hoping to better that placement at WorldVision if they win VM2022. Boy pop group, EVOLUTION will be vying to represent Britonisea at this year's contest. This year, they're the only boyband so they say that they are feeling a lot of pressure to do well. Mya Richardson will return to Vha Mehlodhivestoile for the 6th time with the hope of qualifying after last year's disappointment. Mya Richardson is hoping to "Return" to the WorldVision Song Contest after she provided Britonisea with a 5th place at the 38th WorldVision Song Contest, and then the nation's first win three editions later. Jairo Allen will perform 7th in Boschke. He's very new to the music scene, but he's hoping with his cheeky song and charming looks, he will go directly to the final. Finally, Charlotte's Party returns to Vha Mehlodhivestoile after three years. Charlotte's Party failed to impress the international jury in 2019 when they only received 2 points in one of the hardest Semi-Finals in the history of Vha Mehlodhivestoile. They are hoping for revenge in the first Semi-Final as they close the show.

Image
Semi Final 2 - Eaux City
01 Rigas Jengiz & Dimitris Aetos 02 Daniel Boyst 03 KAYLEY 04 Mehkl Maddox-Ajax 05 ELLA 06 e.s.t.i 07 Eli Klein 08 GVLD

After having a chat with the Semi-Final 1 artists, we moved on to those who will perform in Eaux City. Rigas Jengiz and Dimitris Aetos will open the show with a fiery number. Rigas Jengiz now places below the likes of Mya Richardson in the list of most participations, with Rigas returning for the fourth time. Rigas nearly won the 2016 edition of Vha Mehlodhivestoile but didn't do as well in 2017 and 2020. This will be the second track she is working in conjunction with someone at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Dimitris is a fairly popular singer outside of the VM/WV/WHF bubble but has been convinced by Rigas to cross that line and maybe represent Britonisea at an international song competition. They will be followed by Daniel Boyst - now, yes, he does look exactly like World Hit Festival 37 winner, Dean Boyst...that's because they're brothers! Daniel Boyst will be hoping to emulate his brother's success at Vha Mehlodhivestoile (he came third in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2017 before going on to win WHF37). 2017, 2018, 2020 and now 2022 - KAYLEY returns to Vha Mehlodhivestoile as she continues her hunt for the win! While 2017 saw the star finish last in Semi-Final 1, KAYLEY brought the fire the edition afterwards as she qualified directly to the final and won the international vote, but came 2nd overall. She went to the 38th World Hit Festival in Darkmania where she placed 6th. In 2020, KAYLEY won her Semi-Final and placed 4th in the final. She went on to represent Britonisea in WorldVision in Llalta and finished in the top 10. Mehkl Maddox-Ajax will become the first previous winner of Vha Mehlodhivestoile to return competitively. Mehkl is a national treasure in Britonisea, despite the initial hate Mehkl received after his WorldVision appearance. In 2017, Mehkl won over Britonisea and International Juries when he won VM. Since his win, Mehkl Maddox-Ajax has hosted the 49th World Hit Festival and 51st WorldVision Song Contest. Performing fifth is another returning artist, ELLA. ELLA was a fan-favourite last year with her french track, "Facile" and actually placed in the top 4 of both the International Juries and Britonish votes, but the maths was not on her side as she was 3 points away from qualification. Will she do better in Eaux? Hailing from Urvateršippai, Brito-Todlichebujoki, e.s.t.i is the second international act to win a spot in Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Currently living in Dungsland and Vermine, e.s.t.i is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jun-iči and Ekkehard (2019) and represent his favourite country in the multiverse, Britonisea! Eli Klein will perform 7th in the second Semi-Final. Eli is new to Vha Mehlodhivestoile but his song is quite engaging. Eli is 32 years old and is from the south of Britonisea. He's hoping to gain new fans not only in Britonisea but across borders and he certainly will after he performs his song. Closing the Semi-Final is GVLD. The pair are new to Vha Mehlodhivestoile also, but have had some past experience in the music industry. The pair is made up of William and Jared, from Jyske.

Image
Semi Final 3 - Junterapten
01 Ayden Robinson 02 Jakub Wozniak 03 Xorsha 04 TR3SANGULIS 05 Blue.N ft Aaron Banques 06 Tobias Noah 07 Melissa 08 Petre Lemetre

The final Semi-Final is set to take place in Junterapten and will host 8 great acts, starting with Ayden Robinson! Ayden is a 23-year-old man from the North of Britonisea and is hoping that his song resonates with people across the country. Following Ayden is Jakub Wozniak who at the tender age of 19 is the youngest participant in this year's Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Jakub has an online presence on Tiktok and is hoping that Gen Z are on his side this year. Xorsha will be the third singer of the night - another debutante! Xorsha is a 27 year old singer with a big song to sing. Xorsha is from the very North of Britonisea, but also has family from the coldest parts of Nightom too - she's hoping for that trans-ABENite support! TR3SANGULIS will return to Vha Mehlodhivestoile after finishing second last year. The trio wanted to go through the Semi-Final round first and offered themselves for the 63rd World Hit Festival in Scotatrova. Once they're finished there, they will get started on their performance in Junterapten. TR3SANGULIS will be hoping that this song can take them one step further to win Vha Mehlodhivestoile outright. They're then followed by international submission, Blue.N from Rhim Flavezztowland alongside brother of the past two winners of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, Aaron Banques. This unlikely duo was orchestrated by BVC officials who thought they would be the perfect match and ever since they met, they hit it off! They've been preparing a track perfect for Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Performing after them is Tobias Noah, one of the biggest names in Britonisea. Tobias Noah qualified from the 'death-slot' in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2020's second semi-final in first place, finishing third in the final. After declining to represent Britonisea without winning, Tobias performed at the 53rd World Hit Festival in Bovingdon. Tobias returned to Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021, where he finished 10th. Tobias is hoping to bring back some of that magic he had in 2020 with his song. Melissa is the penultimate act of Semi-Final 3. She's a relatively new performer after she recently won The Voice in Estogium. While Britonish, she does spend a lot of time in Darlington which is why she signed up there. Melissa's song is notably different from the other offerings this Semi-Final as she wants to create a moment on the stage. Finally, this man needs no introduction...Petre Lemetre will close Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022 as embarks on his sixth attempt at Vha Mehlodhivestoile glory. Unlike the aforementioned Mya Richardson, Petre has never even stepped foot on the international stage and hope his song will finally do it for him this year.

WHO IS GOING TO WIN?
All songs will be revealed in exactly two weeks time...

That wraps it up from VM2022 HQ. In exactly two weeks' time, you will know all the songs of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022...but now, it's time to speculate...who is going to win the 7th edition of Britonisea's biggest music show?

Battle Jurors

Image

This year, there will one international jury made up of nation from these three nations: Kalosia, Llalta and Aenglide. In similar fashion to last year, each nation will submit three of the best music professionals where they will pick their favourite song per battle. The song with the most number of votes will win and qualify to the Grand Final of VM2023 on the 6th May 2023. Kalosia was chosen based on the fact that the nation has an extensive history at the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival. Llalta was picked due to its close cultural ties with Britonisea, while Aenglide was picked as it is a relatively new nation in the WorldVision Song Contest, but still quite successful. Furthermore Aenglide will act as this year's regional partner.

Official Format of VM2023

OOC Voting begins 1st April 2023

Vha Mehlodhivestoile will continue in its usual structure with there being three semi-finals, a battle stage and a grand final. The first semi-final will happen on the 1st April 2023 with the grand final on the 6th May 2023. At the end of each show, the top two artists will qualify for the grand final in Burgendore (six overall) with third and fourth place qualifying for the battle stage which will take place in Zelmerlow. Aenglide, Kalosia and Llalta will judge the battles.

10 acts will make it to the Grand Final, similar to 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022 - 6 direct qualifiers, 3 from the battle stage and TOULOUSE - who received the right to come back after Charlotte's Party decided not to return to Vha Mehlodhivestoile. For the Grand Final, international juries will vote in the Worldvision point system [12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1] and will be joined by a Britonish Jury. Around 33% of the final vote will be from the Britonish televote. Regardless of the number of international juries, the Britonish televote will give no less than 348 points. A minute after the recap, voting lines will freeze with the results of the international jury being announced one by one. The lines will be reopened during an interval act and then closed again. Britonish nationals who vote via the app will be allowed to receive all their votes allocated to them again. The winner will be chosen using a combination of the International Jury and Britonish Televote.

The number of participants in Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2023 will be 25.

Alosable Convention Centre (7,600)

ALOSABLE, Aloquirbe - The Jury Show at the Alosable Convention Centre went ahead today with 7,600 Vha Mehlodhivestoile fans packing the arena to hear the songs for the first time. In a change to recent years, the songs will be released online on the night of the first rehearsal meaning that fans in the arena can share their memories with their friends and family online, without restriction. In the past, Show 1 (as it used to be called) was only for the press and fans, but it was decided to also include the international juries' results during this show too. The Britonish Jury - located in the arena - alongside the Britonish fans at home will vote on Saturday night. The Jury Show will mark the fifth time that they would've been on the stage with them rehearsing two times during the day meaning they will be more than ready for the not only The Jury Show but also the family show (during the day on Saturday) and the Live Show. At the end of today's show, a press poll was completed. It is also confirmed that World Hit Festival 69 Britonish representative, Alyssia Reiss will open the show with her song, "Supergirl" which placed second. Below you can find a link to all of the songs! Happy listening!

OOC: Voting for this Semi-Final begins 1st April 2023 - 22:00 BST (UTC+1)

At that time, you will be able to vote here - the link will become live: VOTE HERE

Votes close on Friday 7th April 2023 at 20:00 BST but voting spots usually go quite quickly so you can reserve a spot for 24-48 hours - please TG (or better, DM) me first!

The Press were asked "Based on the song and the performance, which two songs will make it directly to the Grand Final?". Thus, while there are 200 votes, only 100 members voted. Below are the results of the Press Poll are below:

It is important to note that this is only the Press Poll which takes into account the Press of ABEN members only. It won't accurately reflect how the Britonish vote and certainly not the International Jury vote (who make up 50% of the vote).

Novel Lennox kicks of the semi-final in Aronyk with their song "The Goold Old Days". The song is the longest one in the whole of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, lasting a total of five minutes. "The Good Old Days" is marginally different from the rest of the pact, with it's distinguishable sound that will have you remembering the good old days. The band is compromised of brothers Jacob and Reece Lennox (where the name comes from) alongside James Cavanaugh-Huges and Tion Bates - all of whom wrote the song together from their recording studio.

Image
02 | Axel Lindgren - Emptiness
Lyrics: Axel Lindgren
Music: Daniel Lindgren, Honoka Ashimoto
WV Record: 8th (WV101)

Axel Lindgren is best known for his entry “The Darkness” which placed eighth at the 101st WorldVision Song Contest, he wants to represent Britonisea at the WorldVision Song Contest but this time with his song, “Emptiness”. Similarly to his last song, “Emptiness” is a haunting sound, with Axel and his writing team - who are the same as his WorldVision entry - wanting to capture the meaning behind the title of his song through the melodies.

Image
03 | Ella Lockwood - Hypnotised
Lyrics: Viktor Nelson, Fiona Cambridge-Hollyoaks
Music: T:Rodden, James Embankment, Armas Partanen

Ella Lockwood, or simply known as ELLA (before another one won the World Hit Festival) is the only returning artist in this semi-final. ELLA participated in the second semi-final of VM2021 which was known to be the hardest semi-final to date with 8 points separating the top six entries - a first. ELLA returned in VM2022 where she qualified directly to the final from semifinal 2. This time, while she is drawn to perform in semifinal 2 again, she won’t performing 6th - it’s 3rd with her new song “Hypnotised”. Her writing team includes the renowned James Embankment, Viktor Nelson and T:Rodden alongside Todlichebujoki-Briton Armas Partanen and Bayisone writer Fiona Cambridge-Hollyoaks.

Image
04 | Martin Esposito - Evolve
Lyrics: Justina Fruss, Nicoletta Nice
Music: Jacob Fisher, Jayden Christopher, Jordan Otto

Martin Esposito debuts at Vha Mehlodhivestoile with his song “Evolve” - a powerful pop anthem with a thumping beat that is most definitely going to get you up on your feet. Martin brings Jayden Christopher back to Vha Mehlodhivestoile alongside a new group of songwriters including Justin Fruss, Nicoletta, Jacob Fisher and Jordan otto - all writers from ZQT.

Image
05 | Rose Halifax - Mind Games
Lyrics: Rose Halifax
Music: Jason Oyerson

Rose Halifax will be giving us the feels in her stripped back number, “Mind Games” which tells the story of a boy who isn’t giving his girl clear signs on what he wants. Rose Halifax wrote the lyrics herself about a real situation, with Jason Oyerson - the writer behind Melissa’s “Move On” entry during VM2021 composing the entry.

Image
06 | GIRL4CE - Yummy Yummy
Lyrics: Isabella Nixon, Olivia Hoxx, Charlotte Lister, Georgina Willis
Music: Isabella Nixon, Olivia Hoxx, Charlotte Lister, Polly Hammonds, Rita Williamson

”Yummy Yummy” is a fun upbeat group song by GIRL4CE which is made up of Isabella, Olivia and Charlotte - from the south of Britonisea, Araparta. They will be working with Georgina, Polly, Rita in an all-female lineup. The song is fast and fiery with “Yummy Yummy” telling the story about a man giving into his desire.

Image
07 | Raph & Nathan - Lost Control
Lyrics: Jamie Banks, Raph & Nathan
Music: Mark Walling, Christopher Gyçon, Martyn Luther

Raphael and Nathanael are twin brothers from Aronyk, the host city of Semi-Final 2. The Aronyki boys will be sending the song “Lost Control” written by starstudded writing team including Mark Walling known for his 3rd placed song “Never Forget Me” sung by Liam Narain. Christopher Gyçon and Martyn Luther are known for their previous Vha Mehlodhivestoile entries and they are hoping that with Raph and Nathan they can finally strike gold. Raph & Nathan are pretty well known within the Aronyk area, and there will certainly be a lot of people supporting them come Saturday night.

Image
08 | UPRISING - Eternal Sins
Lyrics: Abigail Kelley, William Blakely, Ziyad Reece, Soren Smith-Svenning
Music: Abigail Kelley, William Blakely, Ziyad Reece, Soren Smith-Svenning

The final song of the night will be the band UPRISING, a band of men fronted by a strong female character, Abigail Kelley. William, Ziyad and Soren, alongside Abigail have written themselves a song “Eternal Sins” which a powerful rock song unlike no other in Vha Mehlodhivestoile which tells the story about the plight of the people amongst the top 5% and bourgeoisies.

BVC | VM2023 | Semi-Final 3 - Artist Reveal

Postby Britonisea » Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:40 am

Image

Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2023's third Semi-Final will be going ahead this weekend. While Ella Lockwood participated in Semi-Final 2 last week, it is a rematch between some of the giants from Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2021's Semi-Final 2, with Zoe Wilkinson, Samuel Garrison and Xavier Benchek. While these three names are the returnees of this semi-final, do watch out for the five other debutants as they all have a trick up their sleeves to try and get themselves to the final that's taking place in Burgendore. First, we need to find the names of the eight competing artists.

Image
01 | Rhiannon Stephens - Someone New
Lyrics: Rhiannon Stephens, Georgie Stephens, Lisa Blake
Music: Dinah Rah, Sally Solomon, Diana Richardson-Hague

Rhiannon Stephens debuts at Vha Mehlodhivestoile with her song, "Someone New" - a pop song about her trying to get over someone by trying to get under someone else. This all-female writing team includes Dinah Rah, Sallyu Solomon, Georgie Stephens (her sister), Lisa Blake and Diana Richardson-Hague.

Image
02 | Reece and Jayden - Foras œ requoile [Back and forth]
Lyrics: Jason Reid, Reece Cotham, Jayden Cotham
Music: James Embankment, Evangelista Rocques, Reece Cotham, Jayden Cotham

Reece and Jayden are the other brother duo participating at this year's Vha Mehlodhivestoile who are just going by their names. Reece and Jayden will be sending Vha Mehlodhivestoile's second and final Britonish track - "Foras œ requoile" which essentially means "Back and forth". The song tells the story about the person they're speaking about giving them mixed signals. The track is an EDM pop track, perfect for the nightclub or a house rave and they'll certainly be bringing that energy to the stage. The duo have a fantastic line-up supporting them including James Embankment and Evangelista Rocques - who was behind Britonisea's WorldVision 96 track which won the Jury vote and came third overall.

Image
03 | Demi Blake - Zero to Hero
Lyrics: Kaela Hamilton, Ella Harriot
Music: RiShawn Daniels-Ashbourne, Tion Hammond, Simon Foster

Demi Blake, similarly to the two before is debuting with her song, "Zero to Hero" - it's a pop track with afrobeat influence with a lot of call and response. The songwriters behind the song are completely new to Vha Mehlodhivestoile, but that doesn't phase them - they believe that this song is good enough to win the whole thing! Demi herself is from one of the offshore Britonish territories, so "Zero to Hero" tells the story of Demi singing towards her brother who managed to break norms and belief on the island that people from there aren't able to mingle with those that live on the mainland.

Image
04 | Joel Romero - Torture
Lyrics: Joel Romero
Music: Joel Romero

Joel Romero will be sending the track "Torture" which he has written and composed completely on his own. Joel's song is a heartfelt ballad with only a piano in the background, with some percussion as we move further into the song. There are a lot of echoic masculine vocals providing added texture but the song makes you feel naked, with the lyrics really hitting deep. Joel is hoping to do a Taron Wood here by composing his own track, hoping that his voice and his piano playing skills is enough for him to become the eighth winner of Vha Mehlodhivestoile.

Image
05 | Zoe Wilkinson - Solution
Lyrics: Geraldine Foster, Helen Riddolf, Ryan Batterson
Music: Jake Apollo, Ryan Batterson, Geraldine Foster, Helen Riddolf

Zoe Wilkinson is taking a fourth attempt at representing Britonisea at the WorldVision Song Contest with her song, "Solution". Her song "Solution" is a pop song with a slight Halloween undertone and a pulsating beat. The song is vocally difficult to perform with a lot of vocal acrobatics involved. With Zoe winning the battle back in 2021 in Semi-Final 2 and 2019 in Semi-Final 3, she knows what it takes to qualify DTF. Her song is written by Ryan Batterson, Jake Apollo - who first appeared on the scene with Britonisea's WV82 3rd placing entry, "Prominence", Geraldine Foster who first popped up as a writer on Britonisea's seventh victory with "Let Me Down Gently" at WorldVision 87 and Helen Riddolf - who is behind Meghan Jorgensen's winning WHF50 track, "Waiting For You" - Phwoah!

Image
06 | Xavier Benchek - Inhibitions
Lyrics: Klara Fiona, Leon Christopher, Xavier Benchek
Music: Klara Fiona, Leon Christopher, Xavier Benchek

After hosting Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022, Xavier is back on the stage but this time as a performer! It won't be his first time, as he qualified DTF during the legendary semi-final 2 in 2021 which saw him qualify by a couple of points. Xavier is hoping for a more convincing qualification to the final with his song, "Inhibitions", written by Leon Christopher - who was on his last track and Klara Fiona - one of the songwriters of last year's winning entry, "Disillusioned" by Petre Lemetre. Similarly to his last Vha Mehlodhivestoile entry, Xavier's song is a dancey-vibey dark pop track that is bound to get you moving. Xavier will certainly be bringing the moves and excellent staging as he did last time, as well as pitch-perfect vocals.

Image
07 | Gabriella Bianchi - Little Miss Toxic
Lyrics: Gabriella Bianchi, Abigail Harrison-Hayes
Music: Gabriella Bianchi, Kayla Luccia, Lisa Sampson

Gabriella Bianchi is the final debutant of this year's Vha Mehlodhivestoile and she will be singing the song funnily named "Little Miss Toxic". The song is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but this can be heavily contrasted with the lyrics she sings beforehand. This is also shown through the orchestration of the song too - you're in for a real treat here. The song is an all-female team, written by Abigail Harrison-Hayes, Lisa Sampson and Kayla Luccia who was behind Amara Talin's "Found" - Britonisea's WV96 entry.

Image
08 | Samuel Garrison - Fight
Lyrics: Tasha Louise, Samuel Garrison, Jamie Banks
Music: James Embankment, T:Rodden, Viktor Nelson, Susanne Barker

Samuel Garrison returns to Vha Mehlodhivestoile after making it through to the Battle Stage last time. This year, he has been given the spot that Petre Lemetre performed in - the final semi-final song of VM2023. The title of the song is "Fight" which has been described as anthemic and powerful. On the team is James Embankment - multiple VM and WorldVision winner, T:Rodden, Viktor Nelson and Susanne Barker - a star-studded team for a song such as "Fight".

The reveal of our Vha Mehlodhivestoile automatic finalist and returnee will be tomorrow...and no...it isn't Charlotte's Party!

Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures recap...

Postby Britonisea » Sun Feb 11, 2024 2:41 pm

Image
Image

SUNDAY 11 FEBRUARY 2024

For the first time in a couple of years, Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures is returning - now for a fourth season. BVC decided to host the event to decide who will represent the country in the Coal Coast, StrayaRoos for the 10th Junior World Hit Festival. Similarly to past editions of the competition, the broadcaster decided to host the event in Arenakyvivre, a favourite space for the broadcaster and the same arena that hosted both the 27th and 47th World Hit Festivals. The arena was split in half to make a more intimate space for the children during the semi-finals, Lucie Dagenham is once again the host of the competition making herself the household name and face of the Junior competition. After all the performances, the top three were going to qualify. About an hour and 20 minutes into the show, after all the performances and an interval act, the top three acts were about to be revealed.

Lucie Dagenham: Wow! It's time to find out which songs will head to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures 2024! It's an exciting time but I just want to remind all of our young artists here that you have done a fabulous job and if it was for me, all of you would be heading to the final. I will be revealing the three qualifiers in random order so it's not clear who came first, second or third. The results from tonight came from 100% televote - power to the people! Right, let's get to business as I like to say. The first qualifier to the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures 2024 is...

Riko Loud (13)- "¡Vamanos!" [Let's Go]
Tune: Theoz - Som du vill

Lucie Dagenham: Congratulations to the first one of our young stars! I cannot wait to see you at the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures in a couple of weeks time! Should we move on to the next qualifier... The next young star that will qualify for the final is...

Louise Abrahams (16) - "Eistam i'estoile!" [I'm a star!]
Tune: Sofia Coll - Here To Stay

Lucie Dagenham: That was a popular song! Congratulations to you! There's only one more spot for the Grand Final and trust me, the kids look all very excited at the moment, I can see some nervous faces but just remember, you're all winners tonight and even if you don't make it through, we will still be seeing your beautiful faces at the Grand Final! Right, okay! Deep breath! Our final qualifier is...

Alexis Newman (15) - "I wish I didn't miss you"
Tune: Alexander Stewart - i wish you cheated

Lucie Dagenham: Congratulations! That concludes it, commiserations to those of you who didn't make it through to the Grand Final, but not to worry, we will definitely see you in a couple weeks time when you perform a new single - that will be exciting. Thank you everyone for watching this semi-final but before you go I have a special announcement!

Semi-Final 1
Riko Loud (13) with "¡Vámonos!" [Let's go/leave], sung in English, to the tune of Theoz - Som du vill
Louise Abrahams (16) with "Eistam i'estoile" [I'm A Star, sung in Britonish, to the tune of Sofia Coll - Here To Stay
Alexis Newman (15) with the song "I wish I didn't miss you", sung in English, to the tune of Alexis Stewart - I wish I didn't miss you"

Lucie Dagenham: I want to announce that...

"Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2024 will begin in April! And I will be returning as host!"

The announcement that Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2024 will be back made the whole arena erupt into applause. Britons were unsure whether BVC were going to put on the hit show as there had been complete silence on that front - this is the first time anything was mentioned about the national final. This year, however, VM would start much later than usual.

Lucie Dagenham: Anyway, thank you all so much for watching - see you next week!

International Song Submissions for VM2024

Postby Britonisea » Sun Feb 25, 2024 7:43 am

VHA MEHLODHIVESTOILE 2024
INTERNATIONAL SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!

BVC have decided for the 6th time in Vha Mehlodhivestoile history to open the floor to International Submissions. Artists from around the Multiverse will be able to submit entries for the next 28 days until the 24th March 2024, 20:00 UTC.

This year we are yet again opening the lines for international submissions. Vha Mehlodhivestoile has not always had their international submissions open but due to the success of some of them both at the WorldVision/World Hit Festival and on the charts in Britonisea, we believe that having international submissions is a great inclusion to Vha Mehlodhivestoile and adds much more hype. This year, a total of 24 songs will compete in Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Below, you can find the rules of the upcoming Vha Mehlodhivestoile.
"For the first time ever, there will be four semi-finals of Vha Mehlodhivestoile and a grand final. The first semi-final will happen on the 20th April 2024, while the grand final will be on the 26th May 2024. Each semi-final will consist of six (6) acts, a decrease of two acts from the eight previous editions of the competition. Voting will be different this year as well. Votes from the international votes will dictate the first automatic qualifier. The remaining five semi-finalists will be decided via 50% Britonish Televote and 50% International Juries. The top act from this will qualify automatically to the final. The third place act will head to the repechage. The repechage will take place at the end of the fourth semi-final, with the top act joining the directly qualified eight and the automatic qualifier, to make a final of ten. There will be six voting areas - North, Central, East, City, Capital and Aloquirbe. A maximum of six nations will be allowed to vote per national final.

10 acts will make it to the Grand Final, similar to 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023, 8 direct qualifiers and 2 from the repechage. For the Grand Final, international juries will vote in the traditional WorldVision point system. Britonisea’s six voting areas will vote and add to the total."

Please SEND this to Britonisea before 24th March 2024. A user is free to submit songs for the International Submission stage. Please read the terms and conditions before you submit this form.

Terms and Conditions
  • Brityunik Vefecosoin Ciarkovoin has the right to stop accepting international submissions prematurely or cancel the international submission period at any point.
  • Brityunik Vefecosoin Ciarkovoin is under no obligation to accept any international submissions. The decisions to accept international submissions will be made based on the current selection of the songs by the 24 Britonish acts who have been listed as The Britonish Selection.
  • The Britonish Selection will not have their place confirmed until after the closure of the International Submission Period. If BVC feel the International Submissions are better than some of The Britonish Selection, the International Submissions will simply replace them. The Returning Automatic Finalist has their place confirmed.
  • All artists will receive confirmation whether they have gotten through to the next stage or the process or not. BVC can reject an artist before the 24th March 2024 deadline. All artists will be contacted by the 31st March 2024.
  • Entries that are inflammatory, discriminatory, disrespectful, or put Vha Mehlodhivestoile into disrepute will be rejected and will not be seriously considered.
  • Entries must be between 2 minutes and 5 minutes to be considered. Entries that fall outside of this limit will be rejected.
  • A single nation is not limited to the number of entrants that they can send to participate in the submissions of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2024. A single artist can send up to two (2) songs, but both will not go through to the Live Shows.
  • Britonisea and BVC have the right to withdraw an Artist or song once it has been accepted if it breaks the Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2024 Terms and Conditions after the Artist has been accepted. This includes rejecting any Artist who decides to enter their song into another song contest or has other commitments during the Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2024 period.
  • Brityunik Vefecosoin Ciarkovoin will not consider songs that have been plagiarised. (OOC: songs already used at WorldVision/WHF will be rejected)
  • Artists who are banned from Britonisea will not be accepted.

Please don't rush to send a song, but if you have the intention to, do let me know on telegram or DM (but do send your applications to telegrams only so I can have all submissions in one place). If you sent a song, say, in December but found another song you want to send, while you can't replace the song, you can simply submit another song - there's not a limit.
