I thought about adding another layer to this RP, which in my opinion would be both realistic and cool to try and RP at the same time as the war. The thing is - my government would be totally panicked about this war. It means destabilization of an area close to our borders (due to communists, no less), it means letting Thuzbek influence penetrate the heart of Gael, and it means putting Ostehaar between a rock and a hard place. Ideally, there wouldn't be a PLF.

But... there is a war. Naturally I'd be on the side opposing the communists, but I would want to the war to end as quickly as possible, giving me more time to prepare, develop assets for intelligence gathering, and prevent Thuzbekistan from developing his own infrastructure in south Orsandia. If dragging Orsandian delegates to the same table with the PLF would bring an end - Ostehaar would do it, especially if the PLF gains some victory on the ground.

So what I suggest is that alongside the actual war RP, we would RP some secret diplomatic efforts to end the war. Ostehaar wouldn't be able to do it on its own because it would be a party in the conflict. I think Ainslie, as a non-biased party, could initiate that and try to make it work. It would be hard and long, since obviously both sides wouldn't agree, at least at first. We can have one or two cease-fire agreements, which would be violated and the war would resume (think Geneva Conference on the Syrian issue back in 2010), or even actually end the war using diplomacy, after some long and bloody battles.

What say you?

Okay, i will explain briefly about the intelligence gathering operation that Oste could do, since Oste already has an informant in SAFI. Through the first phase of the war, you could get a glimpse at the PLF through me, with Thuzbekistan permission. Since there's a mutual distrust between Thuz and me, at first you can't get much info. But later as the war going on and it reached its peak, Thuzbekistan will have no other choice but to involve me in the planning since i nevertheless still have assets in Orsandia that could help the war effort. From this point on, you could get even more detailed intelligence about PLF.

Now that you had proper and convincing evidence of my involvement here, you could 'leak' it to the public and forced me out of the war effort since this is supposed to be a secret operation. None of the average citizens knows about its existence and none will approve it.

So, about Prowling Tiger, it will be an operation to track a shipment and confirm its origin before taking it down. After that, with intel that a larger shipment is incoming, the Bureau will jump the gun on a second raid to take it down, leaving the OSA and Vaalar behind due to their reluctance.

This second operation turns out to be a complete failure as the Thuzbeks sent in a decoy to trap whatever comes in and totally annihilates the unit, including the Joker's Deck Squad that was sent in. The result of this is that the Empress will be on the spotlight for doing so and at the complete mercy of the legal system of D&S, which will hold her fully accountable for both the Blacksites and this operation in particular, opening the door for some political shenanigans between President Dyson and some contenders on the appointment of a new Director.

So to sum up what I'm going to do in the next few days, post-wise -

The post is going to include the start of the operation on my side, meaning my folks starting the surveillance and setting things up for possible confirmation that indeed the shipment I'm tracking is a genuine arms shipment to the PLF. D&S and Ors raid teams will be on stand-by, waiting for this confirmation. I'll end the post with my folks nearly closing the intelligence loop, a few moments before giving the confirmation.

That would then allow D&S and Ors to post about their forces getting ready for the raid, getting the confirmation from me and doing it. Thuz would be the reacting side, in this case.

Thuz - could you either post about that shipment or TG me its details (size, route, number of people involved, their weapons, etc.)?

I have the capacity to run arms to anti-communist militias if they in fact exist. If not, I can raise them in Orsland. Unions can be left-leaning but not required to be communist. I can use my agent on the ground to quell rebellion in that sector and have a post where he's leaving a union meeting with the head of the union discussing policy and end with him being convinced either to:

A) Take up arms in favor of the government to actively resist communism,
or
B) Resist communism in the workplace and go about mostly as normal.

Oste, the plf camp is a lumber mill in the mountainous west of urching, closer to the coast than the north. A shipment would arrive in lihai in small ports to the west. Small shipments would be the size of just any fishing ships. Larger ones would be blue water fishing ships converted by samuderan smugglers into hidden cargo bays. A shipment would arrive in orsandia, then move to the northwest to the lumber mill. From here, they would be distributed to smaller supply points in urching. This would especially be active now as 20k men are being armed and readied.

I honestly have no clue how many people this would take. I imagine a couple hundred involved in security, loading/unloading, and transport. Given that ors has some pretty nice economic freedom, this would be easy to hide as regul at business traffic.
