FCN Future Tech roleplay [App, FT]

Postby Gagium » Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:50 pm

In a galaxy far far away, various interstellar empires and nations are struggling for dominance over the galaxy. Will you use diplomacy to secure your dominance and reign over the galaxy, or will you defeat your enemies with military strength and enslave the survivors, or will you keep a low profile like a republican living in San Francisco to avoid the wrath of the largest empires?

RULES:
I. Each capital system is only capable of supporting 100 capital ships and 750 other medium vessels, and 1,000 frigates. Other systems are capable of supporting 50 capital ships, 400 other medium vessels, and 750 frigates.
II. Each capital system is home to two habitable planets, and every non-capital system is home to one habitable planets. You may name them, come up with their climate, etc.
III. Each planet may contain no more than 50 billion people (Even at 25 billion on a planet, you're bound to have overpopulation issues at that point).
IV. No planet destroying technology.
V. Shields can only maintain getting hit so many times before getting deactivated. Be realistic with shields.
VI. Laser weaponry, plasma weaponry, and other FT weaponry is allowed, except for faster-than-light weapons, and other weapons your opponent has no way whatsoever to react to.

RULES ON EXPANDING/COLONIZATION:
I. It takes time for a colonized planets population to increase, to set up an outpost, etc. Large colonization ships can probably carry 10,000-20,000 people (These count as capital ships).
II. For a colonized planet to be acknowledged, you will need to, in detail, explain HOW it was colonized and the details, such as roleplaying the fleet's journey to the planet, landing on it, setting up, the climate/details of the planet, etc. etc. This isn't some 1-post roleplay.
III. You should include a link to which planet/system you're colonizing.

RULES ON WAR:
I. Allow your opponent to respond to attacks, and don't dictate casualties for them. If they're unrealistic about casualties (I.E. invincibility,
godmodding) then telegram them to try and get them to fix it. If it doesn't work, telegram me.
II. If you and your opponent both agreed that you took their capital planet, you officially own them unless you both make a treaty still giving them sovereignty. You'll still need to annex their other systems.
III. The fastest warp drives can travel a lightyear in 2 hours.

TO JOIN: Telegram me ALL of the following information:
Nation name:
Capital system name:
Capital planet name:
Which systems claimed (NOTE: YOU MAY ONLY CLAIM ONE CAPITAL SYSTEM, REPRESENTED BY A LARGE DOT, AND TWO OTHER SYSTEMS WITHIN 15 LIGHTYEARS OF IT, REPRESENTED BY SMALLER DOTS):
Color on map:
Population of nation:
Population of capital planet:

The Ullanor, Tempestus, and Sol systems unite in the Imperium of Man. Long bound by a shared language, an extensive history of good relationships and alliances, and with a shared faith in the "God Emperor of Mankind" who is destined to one day appear and lead humanity into a glorious age of prosperity-and genocide of non-humans(aka "xenos").

Fleet Command HQ, Illnacht orbit, Gagium System
Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass watched from the window of his office as the colonization ship Walenstätten began docking maneuvers to dock with the massive Fleet Command station, about 2,000 miles above the surface of Illnacht. The Walenstättenwas a massive vessel, over 3 kilometers long and packed with 9 shipbays and a single massive shipbay that could hold several light cruisers. After the Walenstätten docked with the station, the station loudspeaker announced, "T-60 minutes until colonization ship Walenstätten departure. All crew are requested to report on deck A-5 of the ship to your superiors." Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass, being the designated captain of the ship, slowly sat up, and gave his office a farewell as he left it.

The metallic hallways of the station were abuzz with activity as hundreds of crewmen and officers scrambled the main airlocks. Rüdiger Hass walked among the masses heading towards the ship, admiring the sleek uniforms of the Gagium navy. He reached the airlocks after several minutes of walking throughout the massive station, approximately 15 feet x 15 feet in size. Turning back to admire the station's interior once more, he stepped into the Walenstätten, and continued following the masses up the entrance steps of the colonization ship to deck A-5, which would soon be crowded with thousands of settlers and soldiers.

After several more minutes of walking up the massive staircase, he arrived at the large, empty room that was home to deck A-5, near the top of the vessel. He walked past the thousands of settlers, crewmen, and soldiers to the large podium, where several of the ship's officers were located. After a short 30-minute ceremony in which several soldiers who fought in combat recieved awards for their service was completed, the massive engines of the Walenstätten powered up, and the ship began its journey to the Hamförde System, which has been named in honor of Emperor Wilhelm Hamförde, who lived several centuries ago and started the Gagium Expansion age. Rüdiger Hass reported to the bridge to oversee the ship's maiden journey, and to admire the thousands of stars in the night sky.

Long ago, the Lethen people were proud, industrious, and strong. But after a while, Letheny began to stagnate as the world around it advanced. Letheny's global empire was surpassed by non-colonialist peoples, such as the Americans, the Russians, and the Chinese. From there, as the superpowers began to clash, Lethens felt constricted and endangered. They had to escape, and the only escape from the nuclear superpowers was upwards, into the cosmos. Letheny began a mass campaign, to head to the stars! Finally, Letheny had reached the stars, and sprawled out across multiple systems. The Lethen ideals of industriousness and hardwork came back, as the Lethen people gave their planets grand skylines, and lights so glorious, at night, the planet lit up!

Today, Letheny sprawls out further across the stars. 250,000 people, some poor, some rich, some in between, load into a titanic ship called the HMS Pacifica, and set sail to a planet near Letheny's capital. The humongous ship undocked from the spaceport and moved into orbit. It pointed at its destination, and activated its boosters. Just 30 minutes of flight later, the ship's FTL drive hummed to life. The ship bolted out of the solar system far faster than light. With confirmation that the ship's ETA was just around 13 hours and 50-60 minutes, the soon-to-be colonists made themselves at home on the ship.

The flight plan. It's a roughly 6.95 lightyear trip.

Imperial Navy Docks, in orbit around Holy Terra...

An Emperor class Battleship, 2 Imperator-class Battlecruiser, and 4 Sabre-class Rapid strike Vessels loaded up with colonists/Imperial Guardsmen- about 1.2 million Guardsmen and 400,000 colonists. The Genesis Crusade was being called to conquer a nearby star cluster. Although they actually had no idea what the hell awaited them, they trusted the Emperor that he would deliver the world into their hands.
After about 2 weeks, the ships launched for the cluster.

Planet of Armil, Waldens System

Tsalna Watie peered over the edge of the massive open pit mine. Spiraling down into the earth, hundreds of feet below large pieces of heavy equipment dug the precious Luxium mineral out of the ground. Crucial in the FTL technology on Waldensian spacecraft, this mineral was exclusively mined on Armil, a small and frigid planet in the Waldens System.

With a population of around 400 million, Armil was the least populated Waldensian planet. Most of the population was involved in either the direct mining industry or in the refining of luxium. Much of the planet was virtually uninhabitable outside of the equatorial region due to the cold, except for specialized enclosed cities that regulated the temperature to a bearable range.

Tsalna pulled his coat hood a little tighter. The high today was forecast to be about -20 degrees, a relative warm front compared to last week, when it didn't get above -50. Back to work. Two more hours and his shift would be over.

Walenstätten, Gagium Space
Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass sighed. Approximately 1 day and 14 hours until the Walenstätten, at warp speed, would reach the Hamförde System. He leaned back in the comfy chair and pulled up his touchpad. Out of boredom, he browsed through the latest articles published by the Gagium Imperial Times, finally landing upon an article about new life-extension technology that's been developed recently.

He read a few more articles for a couple minutes, then set down his touchpad, pondering the hidden secrets of the Hamförde System. There's been hundreds upon hundreds of prior exploration missions, and there's already a few stations set in orbit of the planet, ready to service the future population of the planet. He knew the wealthy traders that set up the stations were smart, but he also knew that it might be decades until they're even needed, as the colonization ship has all the supplies needed for initial colonization. After a month, the ship will go on to the next system, leaving a window of 2 weeks until the next supply shipment to the new colony...

Rüdiger Hass woke up, briefly confused until he realized he'd fallen asleep in his thoughts. He quickly scrambled for his touchpad to check the ETA. The screen read in large white letters, 23 hours 54 minutes 59 seconds. He was amused that he'd been asleep so long, chuckling some before pulling up an advanced wargame on his touchpad. This time, he set the scenario to a Gagium invasion of the Imperium of Man, known for their exemplary dislike of non-humans. The wargame randomly generated the scenario & fleets, with Gagium getting a fleet approximately 3 times smaller than the Imperium fleet in this scenario.

He first made his fleet spread out in an attempt to encircle the enemy. The Imperium AI, however, adapted to this strategy, spreading out as well to meet the Gagium ships. Laser weapon fire was ongoing between both fleets, with the Gagium fleet taking some casualties. In return, Rüdiger commanded his ships to head towards the enemy, in between the enemy ships at extremely close range. The plan was to engage the enemy fleet in close-range combat, while causing them to fire more or less at the ships in between them, with a chance of their ships hitting their allies on the other side. This, while leaving Gagium ships exposed on both sides, would do the same to Imperium ships, and would allow the supercarriers to unleash their thousands of fighters to engage the enemy's capital ships individually and take them out. The simulated Imperium ships were taking more casualties now, but the Gagium ships were too.

After several minutes of combat, both fleets had their numbers diminished, with Gagium gaining an advantage from their strategy of bringing the Imperium of Man fleet into close range strategy. However, most of the Gagium ships were damaged, while the remaining Imperium ships were unscathed. In a final push, Rüdiger commanded his fighters to target all remaining Imperium vessels. This was in vain, however, as the AI fleet destroyed his own soon enough.

Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass looked out the window, at the several thousand stars visible. Despite moving at several times the speed of light, the stars were still visible, with some dimmer ones becoming nonvisible.

He wasn't tired, so he spent the remainder of the time at warp speed playing more wargames, launching simulated campaigns against Letheny, Waldensia, the Auretian Technocracy, and several other interstellar empires. In the midst of another try at defeating Christendom, he looked up, noticing the fleet was out of warp. He rushed to the window of his cabin, and saw the planet that would someday be called home by billions of people.

Admiral Johan Spire stared at his dataslate, before he nodded off to sleep.

ETA:1.5 hours

He awoke suddenly and rushed to the drop pods, grabbing his carapace armor, his boltpistol, and his sabre.
Across the fleet, millions of men and women grabbed their equipment-from heavy bolters to light tanks to even laspistols-and made their way to the hangers and loading docks.
He looked out a nearby window at their home. Temperate climate, not unlike Hagia, and relatively rich in resources.
He checked his dataslate again for the results of the scan.

The Lethen colony ship touched down on the only habitable planet of the system. The people on board were ordered to head to the lobby. About 10 minutes later, the colony ship began a complex transformation, which took 20 minutes and turned the colony ship into a gigantic complex. The ship cabins essentially became small apartments, the ship's food court converted into a giant lunch room, and the ship projected out a half-kilometer radius forcefield. Many of the colonists poured out of the ship and began building defenses, small lodges for their families, an administration building, and various storage buildings. 25,000 citizens were designated as militiamen and acquired rifles from the complex.

The colony was christened as "New Pacifica", after a Lethen city in Australia from long ago.

At this point the first wave of infantry began to descend in drop pods. Each drop pod could hold 10 troops, or 5 troops with heavy equipment, or a single "Conqueror" light tank. After disgorging their very pissed off payloads, they returned upwards for more troops.
The natives never stood a chance. Caught with their pants down, and then caught with lasbolt fire/chainswords up their ass, the majority fled or were cut down. The few that surrendered were either bayoneted or taken away for dissection.

Walenstätten, Hamförde System
The colonization ship Walenstätten was now in orbit around 300 miles above the surface of the planet Erika, a name voted on by the majority of the colonists and soldiers on the ship. Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass was on the bridge to witness the first frigates being launched towards the surface of the ship. Several tons of supplies were being loaded onto them, and the colonization ship was scanning the surface of the planet in depth. According to the scan, Erika is a cold planet, with an average temperature of 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer (along the equator) The planet had short days of 14.5 hours, and years of 400 stellar days (1 stellar day is 27 hours, or how long a day is on the planet Illnacht)

The massive hangar bay opened, and the engines of the 20 lined-up frigates powered up. With a thunderous roar, they flew out of the hanger, towards Erika. As they got closer to the planet, the eager colonists stared at the frozen landscape of the planet. After several minutes of descent, the frigates touched down at the first colony site, a large plain spanning several miles around a lake near the equator. The colonists first noticed the light gravity of the planet, around 80% of that of Illnacht (Which has 98% of Earth's gravity). The landing team of 1,000 colonists and 100 soldiers began setting up camp, transforming the frigates into habitation modules that could house 150 colonists each, more than needed.

After advanced ground scans came in, it was reported that the planet had an atmosphere of 23% oxygen (Earth has 21% oxygen), and from the Walenstätten, it was estimated about 74% of the planet was covered in water, mostly frozen. The oceans consisted of freshwater. The colonists set up a large landing pad for future supply shipments to come in, and facilities like a health module, water treatment plant, cafeteria module, etc. To cope with the short days, energy pills were required for all colonists to make up for the lost sleep.

At the end of the day, the Gagium flag was raised over the colony, and the planet was claimed for Gagium. The next day, Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass visited the surface on a convoy of 40 frigates that quickly boosted the colony's population to 8,000 colonists and 1,000 soldiers. The colony ship had 52,000 people on it remaining, in which 31,000 would stay aboard for the second colonization mission in the Arkvan system.

Eigenblick, Denkhart System

Lord Admiral Salignac Cross began to nod off... "My Lord, Fabricator Consul Ivan Arrssal has given you the initiative to proceed with the planetary assault." voiced First Officer Jona Emory
"Reply that the Brotherhood is already proceeding with the invasion of Dankhart, Officer." replied Cross

Cross glanced down upon the surface of Denkhart, dry, desert, polluted, covered in hive cities, reminded him of Aureus, although not as intoxicated.
Battalions of Brotherhood sentinels armed with bolters, lite infantry sporting lasguns, to arcals (tanks) were snuggled aboard droppods, and fired down onto Denkhart's inhospitable surface.
As Cross watched the beginning phases assault, he thought to himself within the silent confines of his mind "and we survived Horus..."

It should be noted that the Imperium and the Technocracy use similar military technology.
A direct successor to the old United States; NS stats are not acknowledged here

Zokolo
The Last of the young race that had inhabited the planets the swarm now took were dying. The Final bastions of the brave, but doomed defenders were breaking. Swarms of rapid reproducing zerglings, birthed as twins for each larvae, swarmed into a bunker.
Laser fire rang out as the race, its name to be unknown for eternity, fought. The Tall, slender, almost insectoid like race, fought. Some of its bravest warriors used blades of titanium to slash as the zerglings died upon them. Though, the zerglings returned the favor. Slashing with bloodied bones that extruded through its forearms, a quarter of the 12 foot long terrors body.
Over head flocks of large flying beasts, spat out bile, that was corrosive to anything not encased in zerg flesh.
A diverse species, adaptable. In the early years of the war, as the soon to be dead species wrote about its reapers, explained how it started off as a curious space creature. It moved around its home planet with seemingly innocent curiosity. At first just looking. Then it started shedding limbs. These limbs in actuality were primitive creatures that had a single goal of infecting. As it infected and grew, it would learn and adopt. It selected local wildlife. It took a liking to particular beasts. Raptor like creatures that would be infected, mutated and turned into beasts. At first the beast would act in feral groups. But as the spore limb grew, so did the group work of the feral groups. They would seek out new hosts. The larger serpent strains being taken. These were not infected, but rather the corpse of hunted snakes brought to the limbs, now in alarmingly large land of pinkish flesh. The Corpse would be left to rot, its DNA seeping into the flesh of the infection. From there a rapid evolution process occurred. The newly infected born snakes emerged.
This was the first inclination of a problem. Rather a force to fight the infection. A larger group of the snakes attacked a small research outpost. Taking the bodies of the dead, the too were added to the infection.
A reaction force from the local nations of the world arrived. Set up to fight a infection with flame throwers, they burned the pink flesh that grew over the ground. It burned, smoldering as it died.
It died. It chruned in pain. Then, the zerglings attacked. Ripping the invaders to ribbions. But at the same time, it learned. Many of the zerglings died that day.
A new strain evolved. Of the Zerglings and Hydralisks. They now had armored carpacies. Protecing the soft under skin. No matter, for the Nations would send bombers to scorch the infection. Again, it learned.
The Snakes, named hydralisks by the nations, evolved to have spikes that could be fired from its tail, with a rapid regrowth rate of the spikes. They were in fact bones, spiked at the tip, that the tail whipped out with force to fly, as well as glands that contracted to break the bones so they could fly.
It was now that the infection attacked. Not just from the ground, but with larger groups of infected of the Nations races. They shambled out from the night, nightmarish abominations that looked straight from hell. Bodies contorted, heads split open with mouths full of teeth. Limbs that broke at new joints, with bones protruding as blades.
15 years of hellish war. 15 Years for the swarm to learn and adopt. Its not knowing where they came from. Perhaps had they not found this garden world, the swarms would have died out.
But today, 15 years ago, the start of a hellish nightmare that would spread soon, would complete its first culling.
A detachment of Gebetian Marines.
Or Zerg, depending on the rp.

Interstellar Space, outside the Waldens System on a major trade route

The Hydrosian Pirates have been a scourge to Waldensian traders for months, so the Waldensian Red Fleet has deployed to deal with the issue. Some six lightyears away from Waldens, they made contact with the main Hydrosian fleet.

Admiral Gilder ordered the fleet to battle stations. The Waldens fleet featured 2 supercarrier capital ships, accompanied or carrying 3 destroyers, 5 light cruisers, 15 frigates, 8 squadrons of 20 Y-Wing bombers (160), 10 squadrons of 20 X-Wing fighters (200), 4 squadrons of X-Wing+ fighters (80); a total of 465 combat ships and 448,750 crew members.

Opposing them were an assortment of 2 destroyers, 6 cruisers, 36 frigates, 20 B-Wing bombers, 50 Y-Wing bombers, 170 T-Wing fighters, and 150 A-Wing fighters; a total of 434 combat ships and 158,150 pirate crew members, in addition to another 30 freighters and captured vessels, mostly lightly armed, with another 33,000 crew.

Once sighted, the pirates began taking up battle positions, appearing to know that they couldn't outrun the Waldensian fleet. The Waldensian carriers opened up their cargo bays, and combat vessels poured out to meet the Hydrosians.

Leading the starfighter contingent was ace pilot Ricky Ardro. At the head of the Red [X-Wing] Squadron, he screamed out to meet the advancing pirate starfighters, followed closely by his 9 other pilots. 3 squadrons of X-Wings and one of the two-man X-Wing+ stayed behind to guard the larger ships from incoming fighters, while the remainder of the X-Wings began dogfighting. Long range fire from the big ships (destroyers, cruisers) started as the starfighters collided in a dizzying flash of laser cannon-fire.

Approaching range, Ricky picked a target and went after it. Hydrosian fighters were swarming, as they had sent almost their entire contingent out in hopes of taking the Waldensian X-Wings out early. What the Waldensians had in quality the Hydrosians hoped to make up for in quantity. He swerved to avoid crashing into a wayward Hydrosian T-Wing, pouring fire into his targeted A-Wing. Not as maneuverable as his vessel, the enemy fighter didn't have a chance.

He turned up, seeking out new prey, dancing around to miss the wreckage of another Hydrosian fighter. His X-Wing rocked, shields blunting a hit. Evasive maneuvers followed. "Got your back, Red Leader!" came over the radio, as one of his men took out the enemy. He plunged back down into the fray, firing off dozens of rounds into a mass of Hydrosian A-Wings.

Having taken heavy casualties, the Hydrosian fighters were beginning to break. Sensing this, he called his squadron on the radio. "Red Squadron, Green, Squadron, follow me. All others, keep pressing the Hydrosian fighters. Gold Leader, take over." Also calling the X-Wing+ squadrons, he led a group of 5 squadrons with nearly 90 fighters directly at the larger Hydrosian ships. By now, the Waldensian heavies were trading blows, destroying one of the Hydrosian cruisers. Ardro's improv squad went in one the closest frigate.

With most of the fighters already engaged, the larger Hydrosian ships had little protection other than their own defensive array and shields. The smallest of the Hydrosian capital ships, the frigates had some vulnerabilities that unhindered starfighters could exploit. On close approach, the X-Wing attack group scattered widely to spread the defending fire and confuse enemy gunners. Ricky, along with two of the heavier X-Wing+ fighters, darted in to attack a weak spot on the frigate's engine compartment. In coordination with the attack, one of the Waldensian destroyers unleashed a broadside on the frigate, crippling its shields as the X-Wings fired torpedoes into the vulnerable belly. A massive explosion told that the fire had been accurate, and Ricky led his fighters to the next one as the frigate began disintegrating.

Waldensian destroyers were now in close proximity to the largest Hydrosian vessels. Two Waldensian destroyers were sandwiching a Hydrosian, exposing it to brutal fire from both side, while Y-Wing bombers and frigates pounded the belly. With 60% of their fleet destroyed or crippled, the remaining Hydrosians turned to flee.

However, the Waldensian cruisers had taken up a position to intercept a general retreat, and moved in to prevent such an action. Captured merchant ships and freighters were being boarded by Waldensian troopers, mostly without incident, although one freighter self-destructed after being boarded.

Ricky and his attack group joined in on the destruction of the last Hydrosian cruiser, personally barging into an open cargo bay and unleashing a devastating barrage on the interior control tower, zipping out as the vessel began to explode.

Only about 30 of the 434 Hydrosian vessels escaped the Waldensian noose, and most of the captured merchants were freed, although several had taken fire or been destroyed by the Hydrosians. Dealt a heavy blow, the Hydrosian pirates would not be troubling trade in these parts any time soon.

The planet was now under Imperial control. The colonists began moving into the homes of the now nearly-extinct aliens, while the military mopped up the token resistance left and set up bases. The system was christened Segmentum Sophia, with the capital planet being christened as Terranis.

I would like to extend an offer for diplomatic relations between our two empires. Clearly the enemy without-Xenos and the like-cannot be faced alone. A ingle rod is easily broken but a bundle can break bones. In any case, please consider our offer for an alliance:
-A military and economic pact
-An Open borders agreement
-An Embassy and Schola exchange program

May the Emperor guide you in all things;

PS:Please reply within 3 weeks. Otherwise we'll have to send a ship to do it, that that's pretty expensive.

I can do better.
What do you say to 50% less tax on Aurturian corporations, as well as exclusive Rouge Trader Permits for Aurturian businessmen, granting them the exclusive right to trade with a tariff of practically nothing-provided that they can fill out the paperwork and don't trade in anything illegal.

Furthermore, I invite you to a joint military exercise about two months from now.

DIVINE PALACE, BIJDEMAAS PLANET, BIJDEMAAS SYSTEM

His Divine and Imperial Majesty, Eryfens has been approached by a young scientist who has seen potential in the many dragons in Thersersia.

Scientist: "Your Divine Majesty, I have a plan for our glorious Imperium's dragons." He proceeds to put a tablet on the Imperator's desk about his idea.
It details the Advanced Researchs Facility's plan to tame and use dragons as military mounts on the Capital's surface and in the skies.
Imperator Eryfens signs the document with his fingerprint and dismisses the scientists.

2 MONTHS LATER

The Facility has successfully tamed a dragon and a habitat was created for the dragon's combat training.

Erika, Hamförde System
The sprawling colony now held 25,000 colonists and 6,000 garrisoned soldiers, with most of the infrastructure set in place. While the children of the colonists played in the snow, enjoying the cold weather, the adults loathed working, hauling parts to and from the freighters to assemble their future homes. Fleet Admiral Rüdiger Hass was smiling, watching his children build a snowman in front of the colonization process HQ, when an ensign ran up to him, handing him a folded piece of paper. The ensign then quickly ran off without a word, leaving Rüdiger Hass puzzled. He slowly folded open the letter, loathing the contents as he read:
ORDER: Depart on the next freighter to colony ship Walenstätten, and rendezvous with fleet 2-1-2. Assume command of fleet 2-1-2 for assault on Imperium of Man (Species: Human), planet designated "Terranis". Objective: Expel Imperium Forces and liberate the planet, securing whatever natives are left and re-accommodating them.

As he concluded reading the order, he saw a freighter, the last one to leave the planet for another week, fire up its engines for refueling with the Walenstätten. Running, he shouted, "Stop! Stop"! The engines died down at the sound of his cries, and he quickly boarded the ship. His wife would understand.

Fleet 1-2-1, in warp to Erika
The fleet, consisting of 15 super-carriers, 50 battleships, 150 destroyers, and 300 frigates, was in warp to rendezvous with the Walenstätten. The fleet had been launched just hours before, and the 1.5 million crewman and soldiers of the fleet were excited to embark on what they thought to be an "adventure", yet most of them would stay confined in their vessels, not participating in the landings. And those that did participate would be horrified at what they saw. But for now, the crewmen were joyous, eagerly chatting with their family members via holopad in their compartments, or participating in 0-g space combat in the vessel's battle rooms, massive cubic structures 400 meters in every direction designed to simulate combat in space. A good amount of pilots were also practicing maneuvers in the ship's VR fighter simulators.

Admiral Denise Wahl, commander of the super-carrier Stockbirn, sighed as she finished reading a novel about one of the Imperium of Man's many genocides throughout history. Sitting up, she walked over to the large holopad on her desk, activating it and pulling up a map of the region, exploring some of the planets to be colonized and some of the ones already colonized by some foreign power or another. She had an interest in geography, specifically planetary geography, and originally enlisted in the Gagium navy to explore the galaxy. Rising through the ranks, she quickly became one of the highest ranking admirals, and a great tactician.

Shutting down the holo-pad, she looked out the window, watching the stars and galaxies she was so familiar with rematerialize as the carrier's warp drive shut down, allowing for the fleet to appear at it's destination. Looming in the distance was the Walenstätten, one of the only colonization ships of the Gagium navy.

Some office on Illnacht, Gagium System
The diplomat, at an age of 164 years old, had expected to die long ago. But he survived, day by day, year by year. The government of the Gagium Confederacy provided the most advanced medical technology and treatments in all of the Confederacy, under the condition that he continue providing his services as a diplomat. And so, every day, he went to work in the same office, unchanged for nearly a century. However, he was surprised to see a request for an embassy from the Lethen Empire. Very rarely do requests like this come anymore, all diplomatic relations having been present for decades, and few diplomatic moves being made anymore.

He sighed, quickly typing up a response to the sender:
Your request for an embassy has been accepted by the government of the Gagium Confederacy. Your embassy will be located in 323 Berlen Tower, Illnacht city, Illnacht. Coordinates and landing procedures , as well as keys to get past the planetary shields for your diplomatic staff,
have been provided via the encrypted link. Per Gagium law, your embassy may only accomodate up to 8 security staff, and 30 other personnel.

"Yeah, that should do" he said to himself, pressing the button on his holopad to send the message back to the Lethen Empire.
