Basically, the Brukean monarchy gets its legitimacy from the Getachewan monarchy, which in turn gets its legitimacy through its connections with the Ethiopian monarchy. It's all one big house of cards. It only works because the Government and the Royal Family officially pretend like the ties are not weak at best. That's why the process to become monarch is so selective, they want to make sure that only the most "Ethiopian" person takes the throne.

Your monarch on the other hand, has ties to Ethiopia that are ancient. Like, before Bruke existed ancient. Basically, your monarch outranks mine, by our own standards.
