"...I'm Queen Rita, and that man over there is my husband, Ran. The three kids being scolded by the General over there in the nice uniforms are Luka, Olivia, and Ecrin. We're of the House of Alterz, which has held the crown of Letheny since 1743. Since the 1860s, our nation has been growing. This event is celebrating a milestone in our growth, and our prosperity." Rita said. "Anyways, I suppose you may help yourself to the food on the table over there, that's the 'free food' table."

"Ah well it is a true pleasure to make your acquaintance, Your Majesty." She gave a graceful bow and Izetta gave a very formal curtsy, lifting up the skirt of her long gown "As is it is for me." She replied. At the suggestion they help themselves to food, Fine replied "Yes, I'm sure you have so many more guests to greet and attend to. Thank you again, we'll help ourselves." She gave a nod and slight bow again.

"Your Majesty," Izetta began to inquire "I'm amazed you, The Grand Empress would bow to another monarch. I mean do all monarchs do that?"

"Well I don't know if everyone does. But I feel it's a strong way to show fellow members of the crows around the globe proper respect. It makes them warm up to us and friendly in exchange."

"So profound and wise of you." She blushed clutching on her arm ever tighter. Fine giggled a bit "Well, I do try. But no need to be so shy."

"But you are a proper lady, I'm just common."

"Only by birth. Anyway you are my guest and my guest will be treated with the same respect I am. I will uphold the traditions that come with my crown and title but I will not let a person I care about deeply, be disrespected in anyway." Fine glanced at the young children running about, "Hehe so much like my own family." With younger siblings at home she could relate. They found their way to the food table. Fine's eyes widened. "Ooh my is that...." It was one of her favorite deserts there on display. Always the sweet tooth with her. "Be-be careful , Your Majesty don't give yourself a stomach ache, so far from home."

Fine sliced a small piece and fed it directly to her girlfriend. "Mmm but it is good." Izetta said between bites.

"Now now, don't talk with your mouth full." She dabbed a napkin to remove the crumbs and chocolate smear while also reaching with one finger to grab a taste for herself. "Sweet as you."

Anne produced a small, but oranate switchblade and gave it to Ran. “A gesture of goodwill from the Republic of Christendom.”

Queen Jessica Tright of Synnaraka arrives to the palace and steps out of her vehicle. Her Chief of Staff, Thomas Sanders, accompanies her to the entrance. "Well, this is our official state visit of Letheny and I must say, I'm enjoying the lush country side." Jessica remarks, smiling at one of the guards escorting them in. "I'm looking forward to seeing some of your panthers before I leave, I hear they're quite remarkable."

King Ran would approach. "Greetings, and welcome to Letheny. I hope you enjoy your visit here." He would fold his arms behind his back. "If you wish, help yourself to the food available. We'll be having a banquet later, so it's just an appetizer I suppose."

Queen Tright smiles. "Thank you very much for your generous hospitality." Taking her leave, she and her aide make their way to the table to sample some of the cuisine put on display. "I'm simply starving. Missing lunch was a poor life choice." She joked, picking out some fresh fruit from the table.

Her Aide smirks. "I did warn you." He simply replies, choosing small pieces of meat himself. The two turn to the hall, taking stock of the various leaders that had arrived. Most were unfamiliar to them, which wasn't surprising giving Synnaraka's recent emergence into the international field.

Glancing over at another two guests grabbing food of their own, Queen Tright approaches them. "Good evening, Grand Empress Ortfiné Fredericka von Eylstadt, if I'm not mistaken." Tright said, doing her best to pronounce the name correctly. "When I was a girl I spent a week vacationing in the country side of Kuronami, it was quite beautiful. I hope to return some day. I am Queen Jessica Tright of Synnaraka, and it's a pleasure to meet you. How are you finding the banquet thus far?"

"Oh, and greetings to you as well." King Ran said, waving. "I like to think Letheny is beautiful all year, but I'm biased." He'd chuckle after saying that.

Princess Dschamila bint-Fadi, the Flower of Fenchu, as her late Father had titled her, smiled.
She loved to travel and despite her ongoing studies of Economy, she had plenty of time for it. That it prepared her for her duties, which she would have to attend to, when the time came, was an added bonus. Duties first, fun later... she travelled to Letheny to attend an event hosted by King Ran of Letheny, but she was not alone.
The Sultana, as Head of State, was excused, she had other duties to attend to, but Grand Vizier Mahmut Al-Zahir, an old and wise man being the Head of Government, accompanied her - or she accompanied him, as the case may be.
She was the very embodiement what Kyrenaians Girls of good families wanted to be, one of the two (the other being her fellow Princess Fara bint-Dardan), relatively tall, well curved to say the least, not only due to her being an active sportswoman (mounted sports being her favourite), her long blonde hair, in colour closer to silver then to actual blonde, open and well combed, but not styled. Her eyes, of a blue that came closer to silver-blue, sparkled as she beheld Von Alterz Palace, a palace of splendour... she wouldn't say, that it was too much beauty, but the cleaning ladies might say so. Regardless of that, she moved with grace and poise, but a bit slower to account for the older gentleman by her side. Her dress only emphasized that and her beauty, her ebony skin, her form clad in a long black silk dress, form fitting, but relatively conservative, hinting to many things, but showing nothing.
On the other hand, the Grand Vizier, arm linked with her, wore a classic suit and tie, as white tie was the order for the evening. That, however, did not prevent him from having his long, white beard well styled and combed, going down to his chest. A mark of his age and wisdom, for Kyrenaians, at least, which was well deserved and very apparent when looking in his dark eyes.
After being screened relatively often, one could never be secure enough, their guard and them finally arrived at the ballroom's entrance, the old Grand Vizier of the Sultana rightening himself with a small smile as he looked to Dschamila, who smiled back.
"How many men of my age can rightfully say, that they were escorted by such a beautiful woman to such an event?", he asked with humour in his voice, "Come... let's go and greet our gracious host, shall we?"
"Of course, Grand Vizier.", Dschamila said and bowed her head lightly, spotting the man known from a short briefing, as he conversed with someone else. She smiled and led/was led by the old man towards him, her every move speaking of a natural born grace and poise.
They were not the first ones to arrive, but as her Mother said: All things in due time, one thing after the other.

Recognizing the woman before them as their hostess, Queen Rita, was relatively easy, as they had gotten a briefing by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which had also introduced them to several pictures of the Queen.
It was the Grand Vizier, who spoke for the two of them initially, the voice coming out of his greyed beard not only formal and full of etiquette, but also betraying a certain spark of youth-in-mind: "Ah, Queen Rita! What a pleasure to be welcomed by you in Beautiful Letheny. To introduce myself..." He bowed his head in a graceful gesture. "Dschamila bint-Nesrin, Princess of the Ilkhanate of Fenchu, Your Highness.", she said in a soft voice, wiping a loose strand of hair out of her face as she raised herself again. She did not mention, that she was called the Flower of Fenchu. "It is a great pleasure both to meet you and to be here. May the winds carry Bel's Blessings, a cool breeze and water, to these lands."

"That we will, Your Highness.", he said with a small smile and a glint of amusement in his eyes, "I hope, that we can continue this talk later this evening, but for now... I'm afraid, that I'm not as able to stand for long periods of time then I used to." He let a beat pass. "Until then."
And, after Dschamila gave a small bow as well, the two Kyrenaians made their way to the appetizer table, the Grand Vizier leaning against a nearby wall, while the younger Princess collected a few nibbles, that looked nice and joined him again.
They looked available for conversation and, as far as Dschamila was concerned, dancing... especially when her company whispered to her: "You don't have to stay with me all night, Dschamila."
Princessly waiting until she had chewed and swallowed, she whispered back: "I know."

Quilljoy notices the Zelldynian Leaders and comes over. "'Ello, good evening isn't it?"

"Good Evening, Your Majesty. I'm Queen Claire The Queen Mother and this is Prime Minister Rachel Evans and her husband David. I'm sorry that my daughter couldn't be here. She's on a cruise around Krainin on the 110-year-old flagship of the Royal Navy, the HRMS Dreadnought. Her and her partner, Katie, Duchess of Seplan, are sad that they're unable to come. Anyway, thanks for inviting us to this lovely event. How long have you two been King and Queen?"

"Oh, er." Queen Rita would turn to them. "For about 10 years, Ran and I. Welcome to Letheny.

"Sorry about being a bit forward. I've never been good with introductions." The Queen Mother steps back as the Prime Minister steps forward.

Having left their personal bodyguards at a local hotel, enjoying a rare free evening, drinking and flirting with the barmaids, Prince Zanuel & Princess Shona Xarn disembarked. Princess Shona at 3' 8" stands an inch taller than her brother. He is blond haired and pale, she is dark haired and dark eyed. They both wear national dress of loose fitting shirt (blouse for the Princess ) of green and pale cream trousers, and a thick leather belt interwoven with gold chain and emeralds. Out of respect to their hosts they left the pouches of chemicals and tools back at the hotel.
They take a moment to admire the architecture and to enjoy the night air, coming from a subterranean nation an evening breeze was a rarity indeed.
They walk up the steps ans into the palace snaffling a glass of wine on the way, prepared from any of the odd behaviour normally displayed by up-worlders.

They both wander over to the appetiser table and sample the small cakes ( a favourite with Shona) the prawns, stuffed mushrooms, spring rolls and their particular favourite cheese and pineapple on a stock, and the posh cheese,pineapple and small pickled onion on a stick. after a few minutes of sampling they look around the room.
Prince Zanuel decides that he will converse with President Rae of Zelldynia and walks over to them he gives a small bow "I am Prince Zanuel of Xiaxal Xarn, though most people just call me Zan. I must say, so far the evening is interesting so may I ask how you are this evening?"
Princess Shona return to talk to Queen Rita of Letheny "If I may ask your Majesty if later we may discuss what if anything our two nations may find beneficial. As or first visit outside of our nation, our nation being subterranean it is a wonder to see open sky, eighteen miles below the earth it is always dark and though we carve and pattern the rock it cannot compare. When I return we will design a night sky for the roofs of the caverns. Though some levels are not yet carved, would you have a suggestion of animals or deigns we could add?"

With their nibbles finished, the old Grand Vizier linked arms with the far younger Princess, letting her lead him to a group of seats. He was well into his sixties, an old man, who had gotten little in the ways of favours by time and work, so it was only natural, that he wanted to have a seat.
Relaxing old muscles once he was seated, he nodded to the Princess, Dschamila smiling at that - and off she was, leaving the old man to look available for conversation with an old man. Granted, considering the beautiful and elegant Princesses and Princes, officers of high renown and other such things, the old politician was not exactly the most thrilling of companies, at first glance, but he did have things going for him.
Amongst others, he was great with children, his nephew could attest to that!

Dschamila, meanwhile, took off to find someone to converse with, something she did with gusto.
Conversations were the lifeblood of such events, if one asked her, because nothing revealed more about a person then conversation - one might think, that actions spoke louder then words and while actions certainly had a certain volume to them, it was conversation, that revealed most about a person. Upbringing, opinions, views, likes and dislikes, that was the way to know a person.
She realized with a small smile, that her steps had taken her closer to the dessert part of the buffet, where she saw a young woman...

"Ah well it is a true pleasure to make your acquaintance, Your Majesty." She gave a graceful bow and Izetta gave a very formal curtsy, lifting up the skirt of her long gown "As is it is for me." She replied. At the suggestion they help themselves to food, Fine replied "Yes, I'm sure you have so many more guests to greet and attend to. Thank you again, we'll help ourselves." She gave a nod and slight bow again.

"Your Majesty," Izetta began to inquire "I'm amazed you, The Grand Empress would bow to another monarch. I mean do all monarchs do that?"

"Well I don't know if everyone does. But I feel it's a strong way to show fellow members of the crows around the globe proper respect. It makes them warm up to us and friendly in exchange."

"So profound and wise of you." She blushed clutching on her arm ever tighter. Fine giggled a bit "Well, I do try. But no need to be so shy."

"But you are a proper lady, I'm just common."

"Only by birth. Anyway you are my guest and my guest will be treated with the same respect I am. I will uphold the traditions that come with my crown and title but I will not let a person I care about deeply, be disrespected in anyway." Fine glanced at the young children running about, "Hehe so much like my own family." With younger siblings at home she could relate. They found their way to the food table. Fine's eyes widened. "Ooh my is that...." It was one of her favorite deserts there on display. Always the sweet tooth with her. "Be-be careful , Your Majesty don't give yourself a stomach ache, so far from home."

Fine sliced a small piece and fed it directly to her girlfriend. "Mmm but it is good." Izetta said between bites.

"Now now, don't talk with your mouth full." She dabbed a napkin to remove the crumbs and chocolate smear while also reaching with one finger to grab a taste for herself. "Sweet as you."

Now, Dschamila was the first to admit, that she had a sweet tooth, too, and sometimes forgot proper behaviour when it came to it, but at this scene, she had to smile. It spoke of trust, deep friendship... and maybe even more then that.
She stepped close to them, looking at the desserts on display, the one the two had been taking from looking excellent, but like it would murderize her figure. Still, she listed it for later and smiled at the selection, before turning to Empress Fine (although she had no idea, that the woman was, indeed, Empress Fine, thinking her to be another Princess like herself), addressing her and her companion: "Good evening. If I may ask, with that much of a selection, do you have a recommendation?"
