the possible idea is since Gael Finance is a corporate umbrella company owned by both ministry of finance and ministry of commerce in Aruia. Gael Finance would do the hostile take over and pull the strings to finalize the take over.
This leading to complete control over one of the prime banks in Ainslie.

Ostehaar, since during your war period Gael Finance established and started owning banks across Gael. It was this mediator body the Aruian government used to hand a loan to Ostehaar to fund their either war or recovery from war. Which the crash could lead to a complete derail.

The end game here is that its discoered that the minister of finance who is also the minister of commerce, a labor party member had his hands involved in this mishap. Because liquidizing Gael Finance and Bank Gaels assests would lead to a copmlete economical chaos it became an international body with the pressure of the affected nations, reparations would be given to several countries, Aruia would be shut down its offices and with the eye of Gael Finance open the Aruian Commerce and Trade center instead which is a body used by the government but owned by Gael Finance. Aruias bank is solely used to print and maintain its currency soveireiginity and that is it.
Through this whole process Aruia starts from the end of the 80s to the end of the 90s liberalization process led by Valerio Del'falco.
The Aruian public feels humilated by the action of its government lose faith in its current government who was mainly left wing, become very hostile to socialist idealogy which strengh the liberal and center parties. Leading Aruia to being a very center liberal country.

After the First Hyacinth Cry in Roendavar, the country strengthened its welfare policies. This resulted in an increase of government spending, which in turn, made the Roendavarian government heavily reliant on a stable economy. An increased economic security by Roendavarians allowed them to invest on several institutions and companies around Gael. By the start of the 1980s, the High Council, without the consent of the King, have begun to take out loans from the Bank of Gael and more and more investments began pouring in. however, due to economic mismanagement and bad luck, the Bank of Gael suffered from a sudden crash. The Gaelitic currency dropped in value and no money flowed into Roendavar.

The Roendavarian investors lost big time. Businesses began to collapse in Roendavar in the span of a year. The poor handling of the Roendavarian government resulted in a slow response to the crash, with economic measures only being put into place when the damage was already irreversible. The government ran out of money, forcing the High Council to declare austerity measures and to immediately halt government assistance. Public services were privatised, from healthcare, education, transportation, and many more. Meanwhile, several big companies, such as Verafen and Ilren Furniture, avoided the crash by pulling their money out and moving them to other banks across TWI.

Because of this, Roendavarian society collapsed and the country grinded to a halt. Many were left unemployed and prices for necessities skrocketed. Economic inequality worsened, with the rich surviving from the crash. Even the Royal Family was not spared as much of their investments suffered from the economic crash, this including the Eire Royal Caviar company.

The poor living conditions and perceived societal inequality helped build unrest in the country. On November 2, 1989, around 2 million Roendavarians marched to Dociara. The four presidents, along with the rest of the High Council, was removed from position. Headquarters of big companies in New Dociara City were ransacked and vandalised. King Vladimir IV called upon the Roendavarians to stop the hostilities and welcomed a delegation of the revolutionaries into the palace. He also summoned the country's top experts in economics.

The Gael Economic Crisis almost pushed the country into socialism. However, with the guidance of King Vladimir IV, the country switched into a modified form of capitalism. Roendavar strengthened its taxation policies and heavily regulated the government. Corporate tax was heavily raised and big businesses were forced to split their companies into several smaller ones. Public spending was strengthened, solving the unemployment crisis. The period after the Gael Economic Crisis saw the revival of Roendavar's economy as it bounced back from the troubles around the early 1990s.

During the 80s, I was a pretty isolationist communist federation concerned more about the exact definition of border with San Montagna than anything. So, direct involvement I dunno.

One way I see me getting involved here is Magarati companies profiting by selling items in cheap when the price of everything has been skyrocketing in countries affected by the financial crisis. You guys could gradually force these companies to pay heavy taxes and so on in the name of regulation.

Roendavar that is good, the Gaeltic Currencies dropped in value critically.
i think Roendavar while recovering could press Ainslie to back them up to demand Aruia to investigate, Roendavar could be the main voice to demand that the Aruian government investigate the whole thing.

AM - it is possible, that since countries looked for cheap services to allow work in the country the Bank of Gael introduced your countries companies to the region which were cheap at the time. The Athari government assumes they receive profit but in the end the real profit was brought into Gael Finance that own the Bank of Gael and a third party bank in your nation (I don't know any Athara Magarat proper name for a bank). Meaning what the businesses see is their worth and theoretical monatary gain but not their actual monatary gain. Then at the starting point of the market recovery Athara Magarat companies pull out of Gael only to realise they hardly profited and there is little to none explenation to this which only is revelead after discovering the minister of Finance and Commerce involvement.

Thought it’d be better to write here where we can more freely converse than in telegram - might as well revive this thread too after three years given the recent activity in Gael.

So - GaelRail, the culmination of quite a few telegrams and discord pms. My thoughts, at least for the Ainslie side, is much of this will be constructed in the 80s and 90s as a high speed rail network. This would represent a major subregional fiscal stimulus measure which would aid in the recovery of the economies of Gael and further connect their industries. Based on the conversations I’ve had with all of you, here is the map:
Image

Whilst this is currently in my history canon, I will be working over the next few weeks hopefully to further integrate gaelrail into my canon. I was thinking that in the meantime in this thread we could talk about how our respective rail lines were created. Also, if you’ve got any suggestions or changes you’d like made to the map let me know here and we’ll see what we can do.

As for me, the Renderra-Blacken line that runs along the east coast of Gael would be fairly recent - likely created during the Stratten Government in the mid 2000s as a way to connect Port Blacken to the smaller Pulantara nations like Karrin, Venatu and Suvurnia by ferry through Renderra. Now to the original line - the Ahnslen main line that runs Port Blacken to Arnton through Anertah to Arborai and beyond. This would be the main part of the GaelRail project and would be created as a part of the post gael crash stimulus implemented by Prime Minister Archer Condor. Essentially, it’d just be a simple duplication of the original Ahnslen standard heavy rail line. Nothing overly complex, just some casual fiscal stimulation after an economic crisis we half caused.

Also it’d be cool to hear about the respective stops on each of your lines if you’ve got info about them - and/or how GaelRail influenced their development.

historically a continent rail project should start by a super power during the victorian or industrial era.
we should have the historical railroad passage and the modern era one.
