Didactian Council Elections (OPEN)

Postby Cybus1 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 6:04 pm

The Didactian Council, the Imperial legislative body, is currently undergoing Empire-wide elections. Each Didact represents a universe under Cybusian rule, and there currently 1,000 Didacts. All parties are currently accepting foreign support of any kind.

The Imperialist Party:
A party of militarists, nationalists. Enjoys broad support, especially from older Evolved who've lived through chaotic things like the Rebellion, expansionary conflicts, and Drakul infestations. Supports Alex, Mercerism (they claim to support all religions, but their Mercerist leanings are fairly obvious), foreign military intervention, expanding military budgets, and expanding the authority of Torchwood and Alex. Supports increased colonization. Supports advanced scientific research, especially where it applies to military applications.
Candidate for Head Didact: Thomas Volcrix, a former Imperial Navy captain of the CCS Deltus, an Avenger Class Destroyer, an Evolved
Notable Supporters: Dana Mercer, Mercer Industries, Nathan Koenig, John Forge.

The Reformation Party:
Founded after the Rebellion, the Reformation Party is a quite liberal party. Their support base tends to be younger and idealistic. They support a government healthcare system, the Followers of the Apocalypse, increased checks on Alex's power, more economic regulation as opposed to a laissiez-faire approach, increased Council oversight of Torchwood activities, multiculturalism, and expanding ties with foreign powers, as well as all peaceful/medical research.
Candidate for Head Didact: Dr. Scarlett Winters, a former Followers doctor, a Banshee.
Notable Supporters: The Followers of The Apocalypse, Thomas Eichhorst, Vaun Eichhorst, Stoneheart Industries.

The Objectivist Party:
Founded by some rather unusual people, this party is highly libertarian. They oppose any form of government regulation on the economy or private life(barring laws against, say, rape, murder, assault, the bare minimum to ensure safety), closely monitoring Torchwood activities, criminalizing the use of the Mesmer, and they support any and every form of technological advancement.
Candidate for Head Didact: Andrew Ryan, governor of the city of Rapture and owner of Ryan Industries, a Human (albeit with an extended lifespan due to Imperial medical tech)
Notable Supporters: Ryan Industries, Robert House, RobCo, Colossus Defense Engineering.
