A few moments had passed with only the sounds of the pounding rain, crashing thunder and howling wind when the hut door opened again in came Pacifica in one hand a lantern for light and the other her daughter, Valora. "Ah we're wet but we're back. Valora say hello to our guest, Ida. She's here to help me."

"Hi" Valora was a cute little girl but looked nothing like her mom, no one would guess they're parent and child. She had very messy and long black hair. "Hello" Valora quietly replied holding to her mother. "Easy sweet, it's okay now."

Welcome to the thread, you can ignore the RP around it and endorse any candidate you like or do nothing at all otherwise please TG me if you have questions rather than just dropping a single OOC line.

Ida smiled and bowed her head slightly. "Hi.", she greeted, "I'm Ida. And that..." She pointed to where her canine was. "...is Lapa."
Although, more appropriately, where her canine had been.
He had gone ahead and slowly, carefully, and non-threateningly approached the little girl, tail swaying lightly back and forth, the head lightly cocked. He looked cute, at least to Ida.
"If you want, offer him your hand to smell.", she recommended, "He wants to get to know you!"

"Go on, sweet." Pacifica said

And Valora gingerly offered up her hand to let him get her scent. "Nice and gentle now and he'll probably warm up to you."

"Hi Mr. Lapa." Valora said with her hand outreached

The large canine let out a small, silent sound of approval, before he reached forwards with his snout and sniffed...
...once...
...then for a second time...
He thought only a moment, before he gave the hand a little lick, a small smile on his muzzle and his eyes shining with happiness. Ida smiled, too. "He likes you.", she explained as he sat down on his haunches and offered his head for petting. "Careful, though, his fur is wet!"

"Well we're all a little wet" Pacifica joked. Over against the wall there was a large wood tub built right in "Come sweet it's bath time now."

"Thanks for helping my mama. Mama has lots of good ideas and she's really smart too" Valora told to Ida.

"That she really is, searrach.", Ida said with a small smile, "Have fun!"
And with that, she sent her off with her mother. At the notable differences between the two, Ida asked herself, if the girl was adopted - of course, she would never ask such a thing outright and it honestly wasn't her matter to begin with, but curiosity was in a Selkie's blood.
As the girl went to get bathed, Lapa returned to his Mistress' side and licked her hand.
Ida smiled and nodded.

"All right, come along dear. Please Ida, make yourself to home all right?" Pacifica took care of Valora, she knew Valora was being genuine and honest in thanking their guest but chuckled a little to herself wondering if Ida felt maybe Pacifica put her up to it. It didn't matter, other matters on her mind. A quick wash later she got Valora settled in for bed and returned to her guest "I won't keep us up too late, but I thought you might like to just take a glance over the papers that you'll need to sign. It goes over all conditions of our arrangements and the extent of your help for me."

Business-Ida was back and she was so in full effect, the Ida who petted Lapa having the backseat now. This would be important, knowing what she signed and why she signed it, including her own obligations to the whole matter and the ones of the Merchant Guild - she would do this properly, legally and officially, like the MGoL wanted her to, like she wanted to.
Sleeping arrangements could wait for later.

His Majesty King Adit Ryan want's to visit AHSCA and meet with all the election candidates and the AHSCAn administration to further strenghten both countries' relationships with each other.

He will then visit the new Bengali Embassy complex in AHSCA and will give his approval to begin all embassy services and VISA distribution to AHSCAn and Bengalis over there...

Your Majesty,

I have taken the time to write you personally myself, hence the absence of our usual Foreign Office Header, atop our usual correspondence. It would be our greatest pleasure to have you visit our humble little country and meet with our candidates in the process of an election. You may even endorse one if you so chose but that is to your discretion. It'll also be a great honor to show you your embassy in operation and begin strengthening ties between our countries. Please make your visit at your soonest convenience, we look forward to meeting with you.

Ida nodded.
"That sounds like a plan, Madame.", she said with a nod, rising, Lapa stepping to her side. He gave a look towards where the girl slept, a small canine smile on his lips, before he looked back up to his mistress, who just motioned for Pacifica to lead the way. "After you."
Her hand went to one of the pouches on her belt, taking a plain, but elegant fountain pen out with a small smile.

"Terrific. And oh yes please follow me." It wasn't much but there was a humble nook set aside of the occasional guest Pacifica was prone to having, she did still have comrades she had in her time in the militia. "Right here is where you can stay. If you need anything do not hesitate for a moment to ask me. Even if you weren't giving me money, you're still a guest of mine!" She winked and chuckled at her half-attempt at a joke.

Ida nodded, before smiling slightly.
"A small similarity, then, in all the differences.", she said, "If you are a Selkie's Guest, you are his guest, unless you break his or her sacred hospitality. And believe me, that's quite hard to achieve." Lapa took interest in the nook, sniffing around. "You'd be welcome in my home or any other Selkie's home, no matter how this turns out. Same for your daughter... a beautiful child, if I may say."
She sat down and smiled at Pacifica.
"Besides a blanket, I think, that I'll be good.", she said and blushed slightly. "One small thing, though... what do you know about sleeping habits amongst my people?"

"Ah thank you so much, Valora is very beautiful indeed!" Pacifica pulled a folded blanket from a small trunk then lit up another lamp for Ida to use if needed. "Afraid I don't know anything to be honest. Can't imagine it's anything too strange though."

Upon him being mentioned, the canine raised his head. "...are rather rare in the UIS. I would like to prevent anything by stating, that he'll sleep with me in bedding, as it is usual amongst the Selkie."
She paused for a moment.
"That sounded weird.", she stated, before she turned back to Pacifica. "Well... to certain ears. But I hope, that you know what I mean?"

Ida smiled softly.
They had tried to take him away from her once, in a far foreign place, he had been howling the whole night until she went to him, led by guards, who just wanted the howling to stop... since then, she had never let him sleep anywhere else then in her bed.
"Thank you, Madame. He, and I, wouldn't want to have it any other way.", Ida said and smiled as he put his head into her lap. Softly petting him, she yawned, holding her hand in front of her face and blushing. A beat passed. "Well, I believe, that it's time for us to head to bed, too. It had been an exciting day."

"Quite, and tomorrow will be just as busy of a day. Sleep tight the both of you." She pulled shut a curtain of bamboo leaving the two of them be. For Pacifica and Valora it was a pleasant night's sleep for them, she'd hope her guest would have the same peaceful slumber with her loyal companion at her side. The early morning the heavy rain and wind by the squall was broken up by a cool damp mist in the early pre-dawn light, Pacifica was up and about with Valora. Making sure she was fed and well groomed before being sent off to her school for the morning. "I really can't spend the day with you?" She asked her mother, wide eyed "Nothing would make me happier, baby but it'd be very boring for you. You'll be much happier with your friends today than with us."

Ida nodded. "Good night to you, Madame. Good dreams.", she said and smiled, as she was left alone.
She breathed out, closing her eyes and summarizing the day. The UIS was definately a very interesting country... in the positive sense of the word.
Her small meditation, if one wanted to embellish it a bit, done, Ida began to make herself ready for sleep, mostly consisting of undoing her hair and brushing it before undressing and slipping under her covers, where a warm, furred body already expected her. With a small smile, she snuggled close to her companion, burying her face in his fur, her body pressing against his.
He let her do.
Her sleep was dreamless, restful, and not plagued by nightmares.
Come next morning, and the cold mist breaking up the squall, Ida woke up to the sound of voices, a childish one she remembered as Madame Pacifica's daughter's voice, the other belonging to the woman in question. She had to smile.
"Indeed.", she said more to herself then to the two, still wrapped into her blanket and snuggled close to her companion, bare as the day she was born. "It'll be boring documents to be filled out, waiting for people to put stamps onto them and other such things. And Lapa won't be able to play with you... "

"Good morning Ida." Pacifica greeted her

"Okay." Valora sullenly replied with confirmation that her mother would have to busy all day.

"Don't worry, as soon as it's over, it'll be a few months before I take office and I'll be ready to be with you with all the time in the world. For now you'll have much more fun being with Amika, Carma and Ciela."

Valora's mood picked up at the mention she'd be with her friends again today "Yeah!"

"Go on then, off to school for you, I'll see you tonight." She hugged and gave her girl a parting kiss. "Bye mama, by lady Ida!"

Valora grabbing her little satchel darted on out the door. "If you're hungry please eat." It was a simple breakfast of white rice and fresh fruits. "The storm did a number on some of the fruit trees around here last night, saved me a trip of having to buy them from the merchants."

Ida smiled as she got up, sitting on her bed, her blanket wrapped around her.
"Thank you, Madame.", she said with a light laugh because of the poor merchants, now sitting on their fruit. "I'll be with you in a moment... just need to get dressed."
And with that, she went to work on exactly that, Lapa watching her before he jumped off the bed and trotted out of the little room set aside for them. He yawned as he trotted out, showing many, rather large and sharp canines, well cared for.
It was lucky, that Valora was not there to see that... it would frighten the poor child.
