Dr. Martin Lee, a neurosurgeon, won the mayoral elections in Aurora City against lawyer Freddie Marquez. Lee had 64.9% of the vote, the highest ever in Aurora City. Lee is 46 years old and works in Aurora City General Hospital. When former mayor Jess Fernandez committed suicide, Lee immediately entered his name in the elections. He promised the people that change will come if he was elected. Aurora City houses more than 200,000 Terudelians living in slums, almost half of the city's population. Lee told the people that they can look forward to better housing and better living standards.

He also promised a more affordable healthcare for the people in the city. He has no prior experience in politics and when asked whether or not he will be able to handle the pressure, he said, "Definitely, there is pressure. The people entrusted me with this position and I shall perform my duty to the best of my ability."

Premier Redrich congratulated Dr. Lee in a tweet earlier today. Redrich stated that he looks forward to seeing the 'progress that Aurora City will make under Dr. Lee's leadership'. Dr. Lee is keen in making Aurora City the medical city of Terudel, an idea that Premier Redrich is supportive of. Dr. Lee's term as mayor will last for 3 years and he will be able to run for another term at the end of the 3 years.

Liga Nacional
Image

Founded: 1937; 81 years ago
Country: Alexis
Confederation: AFC
Number of teams: 20 teams
Level on pyramid: 1

Domestic cup(s): Alexian National Cup & Shell Supercup
International cup(s): AFC Champion's League
Current champions: Unión de Nestograd (1 title;
last season was played in 1976)
Most championships: Colt-Armed Forces Sports Club
(6 titles; 1937, 1948, 1955, 1966, 1971, 1972)

TV Partners: Central Alexis Sports, Terudel Sports Broadcast
Website: liganacional.ax
The Liga Nacional (English: National League), known as Air Alexis Liga Nacional for sponsorship reasons with Air Alexis, is a professional assosiation football league in Alexis. The Liga Nacional is the primary football competition in Alexis. The league comprises 20 teams and operates on a fixed membership, which means no teams are promoted or relegated from the league. Most games are played on weekends, with few games played during the weekdays. Televised games are almost exclusively played on the weekends, with 30% of the income going to the home team.

Since its inception in 1937, all but four teams have won the Liga Nacional; those four teams are Atlético Trinidad, Real Santa Maria, Palacio Sucinto de Elks and Atlético Guadalajara. Colt-Armed Forces SC has won the Liga Nacional the most, winning 6 titles, including back-to-back championships in 1971 and 1972.

Following the start of the War of Liberation in 1976, the league was suspended and all teams and players dismissed by the Pan-Alexian Football Association. Its constituent governing bodies under Spanish and Dutch governments were promptly disbanded and all operations put to a halt indefinitely. Over 26,000 players and staff were left unemployed in the middle of the 1976-77 season.

In 2017, the Liga Nacional was reactivated by the newly established Alexian Football Association. Company sponsorship and public support meant that the Alexian football teams were becoming increasingly profitable.

Overview
The Liga Nacional runs games from August to March, due to concerns over warmer weather. The top 6 teams go into the Post-Season Playoffs and play against other teams in a best of 3. The winner of the playoffs becomes the champion of the Liga Nacional. The team that has the most points over the regular season is awarded the Alexian National Cup. During the regular season, the Shell Supercup competition is played between all Liga Nacional teams, as well as teams in the lower division of Alexian football, the Copa Alexis.

Teams that play in the Liga Nacional need to meet the standards set out by the Alexian Football Association: teams will have to operate on a profit, teams will have to attract sufficient supporters to stadiums, as well as other terms that would be announced by the ALFA before the start of the season. Should a team fail to meet the requirements stipulated by the ALFA, the team will be moved to the Copa Alexis.

In order to be promoted from the Copa Alexis to the Liga Nacional, a team will have to exceed the requirements set out by the ALFA as well as ensure positive growth of the football club financially. In the history of the Liga Nacional, no teams have been moved to the Copa Alexis; however, in 2018, one team has been promoted into the Liga Nacional: Oostzeestadt Jaguars FC, following its takeover by Redcats Offshore Drilling.

Aurora
Aurora (pronounced Aw-raw-ra) officially Ciudad Aurora, or Aurora City to locals, is a city in the Federal State of Terudel. Aurora City is the 5th most populous city in Terudel, behind Santa Rosa. Aurora City has a total population of 5, 167, 479 as of 2018.
Aurora City is located in the province of Aurora. The city is divided into 4 districts; Topo, Ribo, Fructo, and Primo. The City is surrounded by forests and is directly connected to other cities by the Terudel Xpress.

Aurora City has the 2nd highest Murder rate in Alexis, mainly due to the presence of mafias and rebels. The National Auroran District Police, NADP, have had a hard time wiping off these criminals from the face of the city. Aurora City also has the highest brith rate in Terudel as of 2017.

Aurora City has a noteworthy music history, with much of the traditional music preserved. The city also houses numerous recording studios as well as nearly 2 dozen jazz nightclubs. Some prominent Alexis singers from Aurora City includes Jimmy Deemy, Erica Sanchez and Minerva Van Dam.

History
Precolonial Era

Archaeological excavations suggest that Native Alexians have inhabited the Aurora area for nearly 500 years prior the Spanish invasion in 1692. By the time the Spanish arrived, the people occupied nearly 14 villages in the areas around the water. The first Spanish to set foot in Aurora City was Aurora Costa, who eventually established the name of Aurora City in 1698. The people in the village made a living by farming.

Spanish Era
In 1721, the people, known as the Magsaysayan Tribe, revolted against the Spanish government in the city. This led to a violent showdown, resulting in thousands of locals as well as Spanish officials dead. The Spanish arrested hundreds of locals suspected to be the masterminds of the revolt. A local, Joseph Sereno, pleaded guilty and was beheaded in front of a small crowd.

The Spanish brutally tortured the locals and starved them. In 1798, the Spanish and the French agreed to split the city in half. This agreement did not last for long, eventually leading to the French being ousted from the city in 1826. The locals who were under the French at that time were infuriated and began to stage protests against the Spaniards. The locals succeeded in assassinating the Spanish governor and a local, Diego Villa, proclaimed the independence of Aurora City. For 15 years, the Spanish did nothing. Finally in 1841, the Spanish murdered Villa and retook the city. They held the city for slightly more than a hundred years before the people revolted again.

Contemporary Period
Hundreds of thousands of protestors took to the streets of Aurora City in the 80s, calling for the independence of Terudel from Spain. Mayor John David ordered the police to open fire at the crowd, causing chaos. Revolutionists from other parts of Terudel armed the locals to fight against the Spaniards. In what is to be known as the August Annihilation of 1994, the locals succeeded in removing the Spanish from the city by force.

The Spanish retaliated during the civil war known as the War of Liberation and were eventually defeated.

Throughout the 2000s, the Spanish attempted to retake the city, but to no avail. In 2017, the independence of Alexis was announced, signalling the end of the war.

Aurora City today is known as the Medical City of Terudel. Numerous hospitals operate in the city with many of the best doctors in Terudel working in these hospitals. Slums are still visible in the city though the State Government has made it clear that all these slums will be removed by the end of 2018.

Tonight on the DAILY NEWS, former minister Jane Denise Lorenza dead after standoff between her and the authorities in Rio De La Plata. Thousands of rebels dead and hundreds are arrested as separatist forces surrenders. 65 government officials arrested on charges of corruption, embezzlement and treason

Good evening, my name is Jessica Gutierrez.
Former Minister Jane Denise Lorenza dead

Jane Denise Lorenza was shot in the head and authorities pronounced her dead earlier today at 10.43 am. The NATPOL tracked her down all the way to Rio De La Plata in Nestiland where she held her ground with 30 other rebels against the NATPOL. She was eventually killed together with the 30 other rebels. Lorenza escaped from prison about 2 weeks ago and was the mastermind to the separatist movement. Her rebellion had resulted in hundreds of innocent Alexians dead as well as millions of Baavs worth of infrastructure damaged. Among those 30 rebels killed were her secretary and the brother of former Aurora City mayor. The authorities have retrieved evidence showing that Philippine President Bartolomeo Mateo was working with Lorenza in an attempt to take control of Alexis. Up till now, Islas De Aguilas is still not liberated by Alexian forces although the government assures the people that the situation is well under control.

Separatist forces surrenders, ending the two-week long terror

The rebels have surrendered to Alexian forces following the death of their leader, Jane Denise Lorenza. Their forces were outnumbered as only about 560 of them were left. The rest of their forces were killed during their standoff with authorities. Among those arrested were Colonel Dominguez, First Lieutenant Quani Fonsi and Second Lieutenant Joseph Marcos. These 3 men were part of the Terudelian Special Forces Ops before defecting and joining the rebellion. Dominguez made a mistake by trusting former general Obersky Torres, leading to their demise. The government announced that rebuilding the affected cities will commence immediately. The rebels will face trial in the coming weeks.

Redrich at the press conference

Premier Redrich ordered the arrests of 65 government officials across the state and charged them with corruption, embezzlement and treason. Among those arrested were Chairperson of Gatayan City housing council, Gustaff Cavallero and Mayor of Terbugao City Fredrick Bautista.

Premier Redrich made it clear during a press conference earlier today that such behaviour will not be tolerated by his government. "Try to steal the state's money and your life will be taken away," Redrich said. All 65 officials will be given the death sentence. Lieutenant of Terudel Juan Villa said that the government will continue to monitor the activities of all officials in Terudel and warned them that the government will not hesitate to kill those who wish to break the law.

ARCHIPELAGO OF KINGS, FEDERAL STATE OF TERUDEL
0220 HOURS, 24°C, THUNDERSTORM
2nd of NOVEMBER, 2018
MIGUELITO LUIZ DE LA SANTOS II

It had been 6 months since it was announced that Miguelito and Zelha were found dead. What the public and the authorities didn't know was that Miguelito had used a decoy. Zelha volunteered to sacrifice her own life in order for Miguelito to escape. It was all planned that Zelha was to shoot the decoy's head 5 times until the face was unrecognisable. With the help of the Noche, who tricked the authorities into thinking that they were on their side, Miguelito was able to escape without anyone noticing. He went on a self-imposed exile to the Archipelago of Kings, near Isla De Magellan. He chose the uppermost island as that was a remote island. There were no people living there. Not a single person knew that he was alive except for Tersal Ainge, the leader of the Noche. After the escape, he changed his name to Carlos Juan Reyes and grew his hair and beard. Tersal had written a plan 2 months ago and asked the police to mail a letter to his mother. The letter stated:
Dear Mother,

If you are reading this, please fulfil my wish. I have one unfinished business. Our former leader, Miguelito Luiz De La Santos II, is still alive. He is hiding in the uppermost island in the Archipelago of Kings. He now goes by the name of Carlos Juan Reyes. Do not reveal this to anyone. I repeat, no one must know that he is alive. I want you to call this number +63 *** *** ****. Tell them that Miguelito is alive. One day, Miguelito will make his return with the help of the Philippines. Please do it for me, Mother.

Love,
Tersal Ainge

Miguelito had yet to receive any updates about the plan. He had patiently waited for months, but he knows that soon enough, he will return to take back his throne. "Ulrich, you son of a bitch," he thought. Ainge had made a crucial mistake and didn't kill Ulrich when he had the chance. Miguelito was not aware of that and Ainge told him that the man that his men caught was not Ulrich. He claimed that he didn't see the face as his men had covered it and that he trusted his men. Miguelito was furious when he found out but he couldn't do anything. It was too late. He thought of the time when he escaped.

MIGUELITO LUIZ DE LA SANTOS II

Miguelito was preparing to escape as he knew that he had no chance of defeating the Oostfalean forces. He had spoken to Zelha and she assured him that it was fine for her to die. She said that it would be more convincing if authorities saw her dead body. Ainge had already planned out the route for Miguelito's escape. The Oostfalean forces were aware that the Noche had 'decided' to defect and bring down Miguelito. Ainge showed Miguelito the escape route:
Image

Miguelito and Ainge will get in a black Mercedes, with Miguelito putting himself in a body bag. Ainge then placed the body bag in the trunk of the car. The CCTV was turned off by Zelha from the control room in the National House before the escape. Ainge then drove out of the capital to Terudel. There was one exit to Terudel where the Oostfalean forces left out, which will go through the town of Natividad. When they reached the town, Miguelito got out of the body bag and removed his oxygen mask. Apparently, there was an oxygen tank inside the trunk which kept Miguelito alive. They then drove till Aurora Point. There, they took a small motorboat all the way to the island at 1.23 am in the morning. There were no people there. The entire state was on a curfew and Zelha made sure there was no one patrolling in the route. Miguelito escaped quietly while Zelha killed the decoy and herself. Zelha mentally prepared herself and got into character before killing the decoy and herself. She convinced herself that the decoy was really Miguelito and that she hated him. Ainge returned to the capital after Miguelito had settled down in the island. He made it back to the capital just in time before the authorities could find out that the "Miguelito" was dead. He went into the President's room and immediately called the Oostfalean forces. He told them that the President and his wife were dead. He made sure that there was no evidence that could show that Miguelito was still alive. The autopsy was done by the Noche themselves and they concluded that Miguelito was really dead. With all the chaos going on, the new government did not focus much on the investigation and let it slip away. A crucial mistake on their part. Now the former ruthless, evil leader is still alive and well.

GATAYAN CITY, FEDERAL STATE OF TERUDEL
0926 HOURS, 28°C, CLEAR
3rd of NOVEMBER, 2018
FRANKLIN JOSÉ REDRICH

Redrich sat in his office, looking through some files. He realised that there was one file that had not been opened and looked at for about 2 months. He took it and read the papers inside. One caught his eye because of the unbelievable information written on it.
CLASSIFIED REPORT

NAME: MIGUELITO LUIZ DE LA SANTOS II
AGE: 42
DATE OF DEATH: 1 MAY 2018
CAUSE OF DEATH: 5 BULLETS TO THE HEAD

**DISCLAIMER** FALSE REPORT
ACTUAL LOCATION OF MIGUELITO: SEDA ISLAND, ARCHIPELAGO OF KINGS
ESCAPED WITH THE HELP OF TERSAL AINGE
AUTOPSY WAS TAMPERED WITH

Redrich immediately called Villa and Chou. When both arrived, Redrich gave them a frown and asked, "Who sent this?" Villa looked at the file and checked the back.

"It says Jeanie Ainge, Franklin," Villa continued, "I think we got it around 2 months ago but none of us read it." Redrich was furious. The possibility of the former dictator being alive was there. "Do you know what is written in this file? It says that Miguelito is alive and is in Seda Island. I want Jeanie Ainge in my office now!" Redrich took Chou's hand and stormed out of the room.

"Honey, wait," Chou said. Redrich stopped and assured her, "Everything will be fine. Just go home and take the day off. I'll handle this myself." Chou nodded and gave him a kiss. Villa, on the other hand, was scrambling for Jeanie Ainge's personal data. He had no idea where exactly to start searching. He knew that Redrich was not in a good mood, and that meant that he was not going to be patient. Villa finally found Jeanie's personal data and contacted her. "Hello, this is Juan Villa, Lieutenant of Terudel. Is this Ms Jeanie Ainge?"

A woman replied, "Yes, Mr Villa. This is Jeanie Ainge. How may I help you?"

"Ma'am, I would need to you to come to the government building right away. This is regarding the file that you sent us 2 months ago."

"Ahh...I see. The thing is, I also sent a duplicate of the file to the Philippines. Try to get to the island faster than they do. You won't get me alive." Ainge hanged up and Villa threw the phone at the sofa.

NATPOL agents crowd outside the Hotel Paradiso in Terudel City, where Jeanie Ainge is said to be hiding.

Terudel City, Federal State of Terudel
2146 HOURS, 23°C, SHOWERS
3rd of NOVEMBER, 2018
Inspector NATHAN KENNEDY VELACRUZ

Inspector Velacruz had been a NATPOL agent for the past year, first under La Santos, and now under Junker. He'd been supportive of the takeover by the General; he'd thought that La Santos was a fool for signing a humiliating treaty with the Philippines. It had been in early October, when a man in dark sunglasses lugging a briefcase approached Velacruz. He'd been selected for the secretive Special Operations Force 8 (SOF-8), General Junker's personal task force. Although reluctant at first, Velacruz agreed due to the increased pay and benefits promised.

"The NATPOL will now take over from the TERPOL and Terudel City PD, thank you...dispatch, this is Unit 24-3 we're currently outside the Hotel Paradiso. We're moving in, over."

The team moved up the main staircase of the four-storey Hotel Paradiso, an old colonial building that had just been renovated a year ago into a modern boutique hotel. The NATPOL had recieved a tip-off from the hotel clerk saying that Jeanie Ainge had checked in three hours ago. SOF-8 were deployed by helicopter from Ciudad de Alexis. The lights of the hotel were dim, and the 5 man team moved silently, guests and staff evacuated from the building beforehand. Jeanie Ainge's room was 322, on the third floor.

Velacruz panted as he reached the third floor, and room 322 was at the end of the corridor; a lone door. Velacruz pointed at the door, signaling to the others to stack up on the door. Corporal Alder placed a C-2 charge under the doorknob, while Velacruz knocked on the door.

"Mrs Ainge, under the order of the Supreme Court of Alexis, you are under arrest for colluding with the enemy and treason. Come out with your hands up!"

As Velacruz finished, Alder detonated the C-2, and the team cleared the living room. Velacruz and Alder moved into the bedroom while Johansson, Albo and Neves cleared the fire riser and kitchen. Alder put the barrel of his shotgun against the bedroom doorknob and pulled the trigger, splinters and sparks flying towards Velacruz. He kicked the door down, and saw the grey-haired Ainge standing on the balcony, one leg hanging out, seemingly ready to jump. Spotlights from the street below illuminated the woman.

"It's no use, Mdm Ainge, you can't run. Come with us,"

"Like I said, you'll never take me alive!"

As she straightened her body, ready to jump, the others ran into the room, rifles drawn. Velacruz froze for a second, "Shoot the bitch,"

Before she could jump she was riddled with bullets and buckshot. Velacruz counted at least 25 shots before her body keeled over the edge of the balcony and fell 20 metres down to the street below. Her body made a loud thud as she hit the pavement, her guts spilling onto the cement.

Velacruz looked over the balcony and saw her lifeless corpse in a heap, before Albo came up to him with an android phone in hand.

"Look sir, here the last text Tersal sent her last week. It says the Philippines will attempt to exfiltrate Miguelito and Tersal from Seda Island 'soon'. Son-of-a-bitch thinks he can run from us across an open ocean,"

"Bring me a phone and get me the President. Quickly."

GATAYAN CITY, FEDERAL STATE OF TERUDEL
1035 HOURS, 24°C, SHOWERS
4th of NOVEMBER, 2018
FRANKLIN JOSÉ REDRICH

Redrich was furious when he found out that Tersal Ainge was able to escape from prison. He had questioned the capability of the TERPOL in securing the criminals inside the prison. He had threatened to dissolve the TERPOL and establish a new police order before when the TERPOL allowed Jane Lorenza to escape. Now, he had to address the situation in front of the people. He knew that if he took a soft stand, the people's approval of him would dwindle. He had no other choice.

Chou entered his office, with a piece of paper in her hand. "Franklin, there is a letter for you. Says it's from a Chester Manfield," Chou handed the letter to Redrich. Redrich had no idea who was Chester Manfield. The name did not ring a bell in his head. The letter stated:
Dear Mr Redrich,

I am aware that Tersal Ainge had escaped from prison and is currently with the former President. I have also been informed that the NATPOL took over the operation. I know that you are upset about it. It hurts your pride. However, do not be discouraged. The NATPOL will fail this time. I am sure of it. I will make sure of it. And none of you will be able to stop that.

Chester Manfield

"Honey, call the NATPOL. Inform them about this mysterious letter. I will have to go and address the press now." Redrich made his way down to the press conference room while Chou contacted the NATPOL. Redrich walked up to the podium and spoke, "A very good morning. Last night, Jeanie Ainge, the mother of Tersal Ainge, was killed by NATPOL agents in Terudel City. She sent a letter to us about 2 months ago, claiming that former president MIguelito Luiz De La Santos II was alive and is in hiding in Seda Island. I am afraid that her claim was true. NATPOL agents have confirmed that he is alive." Redrich paused for a while.

"What is more upsetting is the fact that our very own TERPOL have allowed Tersal Ainge to escape from prison. It is said that he is now in Seda Island. We do not know exactly what is their plan but we are sure of one thing. Philippine President Mateo is aware of Miguelito being alive. There has been no sight of any Philippine ships making its way to Terudel. However, we are suspecting the involvement of Filipino nationals living in Terudel. This situation is already out of my control. The NATPOL has informed me that all operations regarding the extraction of Miguelito will be 100% under their control. I respect that decision. Instead, I have decided to take action to ensure that such situations do not happen again under my supervision. It had already been conspicuous to me that the TERPOL had been incapable of doing their job. Security of this state is of utmost importance and if our police are not able to perform their duty, the lives of every single Terudelian is at risk. Therefore, I have decided to relieve General Francisco Juan Reyes of his position as head of the TERPOL. The newly appointed head of the TERPOL will be former General Obersky Torres. The TERPOL, from now on, shall never fail us once again! I have given General Torres full authority over the TERPOL and he will not hesitate to take extreme measures to ensure that no one and I repeat no one, will ever dare to go against the authority. Long live the Federal State of Terudel!" Redrich walked off the podium as the media chased him, trying to get him to answer their questions. He ignored all of them and continued to walk out. His mind could not be changed. His decision was final. "If everyone wishes to take their chance and defy my authority, I will no longer hesitate to take harsh measures," he thought.

Pave-Low

After eating the last of his MREs, Sergeant David "Jun" Becker marked a squiggly line on a battle-scarred "Disney princess" notebook, that he found a few days ago, indicating the 12th day they were stranded behind enemy lines. Him and Corporal Thel "Whiskey" M'damma were lying in an untouched cavern underneath the dense vegetation. Twelve days ago Pave-Low squad was deployed to Islas De Aguilas to sabotage enemy JY-11 mobile radar arrays a few hours before the main landing forces arrive. Having spending some time on the island, the three men have gathered some intel about nearby infrastructures, assets deployed and timings and routines of the day-to-day activities of the enemy soldiers nearby. With supplies running low and having two of the squad members including the squad leader dead, the odds are against the remaining souls of Pave-Low.

Footsteps can be heard at the cavern entrance and it is getting closer. The two men covered the fireplace with a dark cloth and stood on a defensive position to prepare for what is coming.

"Woah Woah Woah Hold it! Hold it! Its me." Said Sergeant Dan "Noble" Ortez in a loud whispering voice.
"There's a patrol heli coming. Close the entrance and dim the fireplace."

Huge banana leaves were used to quickly cover the entrance of the cavern. As the patrol Huey passes, the three men stood their ground nervously and held their rifle and looked around as the Huey's loud iconic chopping sound comes in and its spotlight shines through the cracks of the cavern.

"Noble were you followed?" said Jun
"No"
"Then how the fuck do they know we are here?!" replied Jun in a harsh whispering voice
"They don't. But they know we are alive and kicking and can you please stop screaming." replied Noble
"I'm whispering!" said Jun
"Well technically you are quietly screaming" said Whiskey
"Shut up"

The three men kept quiet after enemy troops above can be heard yelling commands. It seems like there are boots on the ground too. Meanwhile, the cloth that was used to cover the fireplace partially caught fire. This caused a panic in the small damp room. Whiskey slammed the cloth against the wall repeatedly while Jun and Noble started to kick the fireplace to stop the fire.

"Did they see us?"
"No... I think they are leaving." replied Whiskey

As the chopping sound became softer and softer, Whiskey let out a sigh of relief.

"That was a close one. Weirdly it hovered 20 seconds longer than the usual 30 seconds. Seems like they changed their routine by a bit." said Whiskey
"So you counted about 50 seconds? It felt more like an eternity." said Jun

"While I was doing my scouting runs a while ago a saw a team salvaging the wreck of the truck that we were in 12 days ago. They got our radio and our comms. They probably know that we are alive since they found only two bodies." said Noble as he sits on his bed made of twigs and leaves stacked together on the ground.

"But...I found a freshwater stream just five clicks south of us. I think we will be fine."

As Jun and Whiskey lie on their makeshift beds, Noble opens a can containing what's left of the MREs for dinner. "Although they are classified MIA or presumed dead to some, their hopes of making it out alive slowly dies as each day passes. That should not deter a Special Ranger from completing his mission." thought Noble as he slowly eats his mashed potatoes.

Noble, still up and awake, bearing his rifle. He could not sleep as he thought that he needs to keep a constant look-out and should not let their guard down. Deep down, he just wants to avoid having nightmares again in his sleep. Nightmares of losing everything, things that have happened and things that have never happened. They started only days after Pac and Locke was gone. As he glanced to his left, he saw Whiskey fast asleep while Jun was twitching around and mumbling things. As the mumbling grew louder, Noble wakes Jun.

"I feel you bro." thought Noble in his head

"David wake up. David! You alright?" said Noble

Jun let out a sigh of relief as he found out it was only a dream.
"Yeah I'm Fine" replied Jun

"Bad dream?" asked Noble

"Its nothing.... Hey how about you get some rest while I take your place as lookout aight?" said Jun

"Fuck me. Fuck this." said Jun under his breath as he took his rifle, lit a cigarette and sat on a small wet stone.

From the outside, thunder and gunshots can be heard from a distance. Noble lied down on his makeshift bed getting some much needed rest but not wanting to close his eyes. He hoped everything will be over soon.

JUAN VILLA RELIEVED OF DUTY AS LIEUTENANT OF TERUDEL; CHOU TAKES OVER AS INTERIM LIEUTENANT
Villa was found guilty of bribing former head of TERPOL to let Tersal Ainge escape from prisonImage

5th November 2018

Juan Villa, Lieutenant of Terudel, was found guilty of bribing former TERPOL head, General Francisco Juan Reyes to let Tersal Ainge escape from prison. Villa allegedly paid Reyes 2 million Baavs to let Ainge escape from prison and safely transported to Seda Island. The 2 million Baavs was rumoured to be stolen from the state's budget.

Villa will face charges of treason and robbery and is expected to be given the death sentence. Reyes, on the other hand, is expected to receive a life sentence for collaborating with Villa. Villa was interrogated last night by the TERPOL and it was announced that Villa had been secretly an ally of Tersal Ainge. Premier of Terudel, Franklin Redrich, told the media this morning that there will be action taken against those who wish to side with Villa. For now, Chairwoman of the PPP, Chou Yutzu, will be the interim Lieutenant of Terudel.

Further interrogation revealed that 10 Philippine nationals who are employed by the Philippine Embassy in Terudel City, have made their way to Seda island together with Ainge. They have been given weapons by the former head of TERPOL. When asked about his opinion, Redrich said that the situation is not under his control and that the NATPOL will deal with it. The only thing he could do, according to Redrich, is to send the TERPOL to the Philippine Embassy and arrest those who are suspected of being involved in the escape.

Philippine President Bartolomeo Mateo proudly announced during his press conference in the Malacañang last night that the rightful leader of Alexis was alive. He made it clear that his nation will take immediate action against Alexis if they do not give Miguelito to the Philippines. As of now, the battle in Islas De Aguilas has reached a stalemate, though the Alexian government repeatedly assured the people that Alexis will claim victory soon.

TERUDELIAN GOVERNMENT UNVEILS NEW ROAD WIDENING PROJECT
Widening of all main roads in Terudel to begin by early December
Image
A tight road in Santa Rita

By: Wendy Wang
7th November 2018

The Terudelian Government has announced through a press conference last night that works to widen roads all over Terudel will commence by early December this year. This comes after frequent protests by the public, appealing for the government to do something about the roads. This project would cost the government approximately 1.2 million Baavs, according to Premier Redrich, who stated in his press conference that the project is "worth the investment".

Just in the past year alone, there have been over 710 road accidents in Terudel due to the lack of spacing in the roads. Terudel has seen an increasing trend of road accidents in the past 6 years, with the highest number of accidents recorded in 2016, with 1,234. Though many citizens are supportive of the new project, some are still unsure on whether this would salvage the problem.

A male citizen from Rey Alfonso City said in an interview, "Widening the roads will only encourage more people to purchase cars. Instead of trying to solve the problem, it would only make it worse. The traffic in Terudel would only increase and the number of road accidents that will occur will surely increase! What the government should do is to limit the number of cars in the road. That would be more cost-efficient and I believe that will be a good solution."

The traffic in Terudel has been addressed in the previous press conference that the Premier had, in which he assured the people that the government is doing their very best to find an effective solution. He did mention that the problem can only be solved, or at least minimised, if the people cooperate. Statistics show that road congestion cost the Terudelian government over 4 per cent of gross domestic product each year due to lost time and higher transport costs.

People also said that they lose production at work due to traffic congestion as the rate of people being late for work due to traffic is up to 30% in the recent year. It is the highest among the three states of Alexis, compared to 14% and 11% in Nestiland and Oostfalea respectively.

In 2017, the number of motor vehicles in Gatayan City hit 2.2 million, with that number likely to keep growing. Car sales this year has also hit an all-time high of 418,567 due to the opening of different car manufacturing plants. Premier Redrich has urged the people to turn to more economic alternatives such as ride-sharing and car-pooling services. He said that ride-sharing can remove as much as 900,000 private vehicles off the road, translating to 50 to 80 per cent reduction in congestion.

|7th of NOVEMBER, 2018|SATURDAY|25°C THUNDERSTORMS|7.30 p.m.LIVE FROM METRO ALEXIS
Tonight on News in the Evening, Three PLA Type-045A Frigates were spotted 25 kilometers north of Isla De Santa Maria. Casualties of Alexian troops has reached a new high in Islas De Aguilas. Former President, Miguelito Luiz De La Santos II, is confirmed to be alive and hiding. New typhoon has formed from the low-pressure area 200 kilometers North-East from the Alexis' area of responsibility. All this and more, on UVA-TNJ News in the Evening.

Good Evening, my name is Gaspar Westfield.

Chinese claims near Alexis' backyard

At 0845 Hours, this morning, a local fisherman living in Isla De Santa Maria spotted three naval ships and he said that were not of Alexis origin. So, he contacted the authorities to address the situation. The Republic of Alexis Air Force deployed two Cessna C-162 reconnaissance planes from San Bernardo Air force Base to intercept the group of foreign naval ships. The ships were later identified to be Type-045A Frigates from The People's Liberation Army Navy. The small group was thought to be patrolling the waters around the Chinese-claimed Soledad Island or "Wu Ting" islands referred to by the PLA, just 20 kilometers north of Isla De Santa Maria. The Chinese claimed the islands as Chinese ambassador to Alexis, Henry Wong, said that it was part of their region of influence according to a 13th century map. When they were contacted by one of the Alexian reconnaissance aircrafts, a radio transmission from one of the frigates warns the two reconnaissance aircrafts to stay away from the Chinese territory.
ImagePhotograph from the Alexian reconnaissance plane of one of the 3 Type-045A Frigates

[Alexian pilot]: "Attention. This is Hawkeye-02, You are nearing the sovereign waters of the Federal Republic of Alexis, divert your course to 045 degrees immediately."

[PLA Navy personnel]: "Attention, Hawkeye-02, You are entering the territories of The People's Republic of China. Please divert your course immediately or face necessary action."

After a few more hours confrontation and issuing of warnings between the PLA Navy frigates and the Alexian Air force recon aircrafts, the two Alexian Cessna C-162 aircrafts returned back to San Bernardo Air Force Base at 1105 hours as they were low on fuel. However, radars at the radio array facility in Isla De Santa Maria showed that the frigates continued patrolling the waters around Soledad Island until 0600 hours. Furthermore, this has been the 46th time the PLA and AFFRA has confronted each other around Soledad Island. Tensions between The Federal Republic of Alexis and The People's Republic of China has been increasing steadily ever since Alexis became independent last year. The claims on the Soledad Island is not the only reason fueling the tensions of the two countries. Earlier this year, Former President, Miguelito Luiz De La Santos II, signed a pact, which was recently declassified, with the People's Republic to aid the AFFRA in their campaign against the occupation of Isla De Aguilas. The former President agreed to allow the PLA to operate eight bases in mainland Alexis in exchange for arms and aiding the invasion of Islas De Aguilas and mainland Philippines scheduled on April. Which of course, did not happen that time and a peace treaty was signed with the Philippines shortly. However, the Chinese government is still disgruntled about the former president's and the Alexian government's broken promise.

Former President Miguelito Luiz De La Santos alive

Speaking of the former president, there have been confirmed reports of former president Miguelito Luiz De La Santos being alive was announced during a press hearing yesterday. Spokesperson Diego Himenez said during the press conference that a text message was found in Mdm. Jeanie Ainge's phone after she passed away. The message stated that Miguelito will be exfiltrated from one of the northern-most islands of Alexis, Seda Island, by a team of Philippine operatives. From the message, authorities concludes that Seda Island is where the former president is currently in hiding. However, Spokesperson Diego Himenez has also stated that the time and date the exfil is going to be carried out by the Philippine operatives is still unknown as it was vaguely stated in the text message. As of now the waters surrounding Seda Island is being constantly monitored by the AFFRA and the Alexian Coast Guard.

As of now, we have Karen Diaz and Head of the Alexian Coast Guard with her, Captain-at-sea Martin Riviera-Oranje reporting to us live aboard the Coast Guards' RAS Trinidad.

Thank you Westfield. Tonight, I am joined by Captain-at-sea Martin Riviera-Oranje, the person who oversees most of the monitoring operations by the Alexian Coast Guard around Seda Island. So, Captain-at-sea Riviera-Oranje, can you tell us what is the situation now?

So, for the Coast Guard's side, we have deployed five Coast Guard vessels at strategic points around the island so that we can have angle from all sides. We made sure that the ships are at least twenty kilomteres from Seda island so that the ships won't be seen visually from Seda island. Furthermore, this ship, the RAS Trinidad is currently stationed at the north-western part of the island to also scout on oncoming aircrafts or vessels that will probably exfiltrate the former president out of the country. The Alexian Coast Guard is currently working closely with the Navy and the Air Force in this operation.

So will there any further operations where the former president Miguelto will be captured or taken down?

There was a joint meeting by high ranking people from the different departments. We may have the support of the marines in the future. We do have planned to take the former president dead or alive but most of the details are classified.

Thank you so much Captain-at-sea Riviera-Oranje. We have also recieved information from the Republic of Alexis Airforce that there was a single heat signature detected by reconnaissance planes using thermal sensors. Back to you, Westfield.

Casualties of Alexian troops has reached a new high in Islas De Aguilas

Thank you Karen. In other news, the list of AFFRA personnel deployed at Islas De Aguilas has reached a hundred earlier this week. Spokesperson of the AFFRA, Lieutenant Colonel Remy Mark Janssen, told the media during the same press hearing yesterday, as previously mentioned, that the number of personnel classified as "KIA" is amounted to 92 while the number of wounded personnel was reported to be at least a thousand. Lieutenant Colonel Janssen has also stated the the opposing casualties are greater with about thrice as many classified as ''KIA" and wounded. The Lieutenant Colonel has also stated that in just slightly over two weeks, the AFFRA has controlled the majority of the East Eagle Island which is the island that is located on the eastern part of Islas De Aguilas. Joining us now is Luiz De Vries, who is currently reporting live from East Eagle Island in Islas De Aguilas, De Vries?

Thank you Westfield, as you can see situation right now is rather heated as I am equipped with Kevlar vest and helmet right now, hiding behind cover and the crew right now is temporarily attached to Echo Company, 4th Marine Regiment. We have been following Echo Company for three days now and we have advanced 30 km and now we are at the outskirts of Porto Alegre. Porto Alegre is one of the main towns in East Eagle Island is currently under Philippine control. The Marine Regiments along with the 13th Regiment of the 3rd Nestiland Infantry Division that is moving past us in trucks by the way, are going to attempt to take control of Porto Alegre in the following days ahead due to its strategic value. Earlier today, I have interviewed first Lieutenant Brandon Joseph of Echo Company and he has stated that the enemy has dug themselves in Porto Alegre and have established formidable fortifications thus, capturing the town would require a lot of manpower, wit and most importantly, luck. The first Lieutenant has also stated the he felt confident in capturing the town. You can probably hear bullets whizzing by enemy machine guns putting supressing fire on our soldiers to slow down our advance into the town. In the distance, you can hear gunshots made by the 8th Marine Regiment as they try to soften up the defenses. That is for the situation in this side of the island and back to you Westfield.

A new typhoon has formed 200 km north-east of the Alexis' area of responsibility

It seems like you might want to stay in cover at all times De Vries. Stay Safe out there. In another news, a new typhoon has formed from a tropical depression 200 km north-east from the Alexis' area of responsibility. The Alexis Meteorological Agency (AMA)
has named the typhoon; typhoon Ernesto when it has properly formed into a proper typhoon at 1800 UTC on November 6 after a period of rapid intensification from its low-pressure state. I will now pass the time to our weather reporter, Regine Del Rosario for more details of the typhoon. Regine, is the typhoon going to affect Alexis? If so, to what extent is the damage are expecting?

ImageSatellite image of Typhoon Ernesto

Thank you Westfield. I will get to that question later. Just a few hours ago at around 1600 hours, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC) assessed the system as a category 4 equivalent typhoon. Almost a super typhoon. The AMA has reported that Typhoon Ernesto's maximum ten-minute sustained winds is two hundred and fifteen kilometers per hour (215 km/h) or one hundred and thirty-four miles per hour (134 mph) with gusts of three hundred and sixty-five kilometers per hour (365 km/h) or two hundred and twenty-seven miles per hour (227 mph). Its lowest recorded pressure is 890 hPa. The AMA has predicted Typhoon Ernesto's path. The typhoon is going to move south from its current position and slowly making a left towards the Federal Republic.

Typhoon Ernesto would make its first landfall on Alexis on the tip of the uninhabited region of the Daring Archipelago in Terudel and head straight into Maverick Bay, hitting the areas in the Eastern Lowlands in Oostfalea and move across the entire length of Alexis. Typhoon Ernesto would then make its way towards Mindanao of the Philippine islands and the eye just missing Islas De Aguilas by twenty kilometers. The total damage caused by the typhoon is estimated to hit at least $3 Billion USD across the areas and countries it is about to hit. Typhoon Ernesto is expected to make landfall on Alexis on the 12th of November at around 1800 hours. So I urge all of you to prepare for this impending calamity.

Thank you Regine for all the necessary information about the incoming typhoon. So we will just take a short break for now and after the break there is more on UVA-TNJ News in the Evening.

DAILY NEWS

|8th of NOVEMBER, 2018|THURSDAY|27°C CLEAR|6.00 p.m.LIVE FROM GATAYAN CITY
Tonight on the DAILY NEWS, Governor of Toledo Emmanuel Victor Diego "Manu" Navarro assassinated earlier today during a press conference. Government finds out that former President La Santos II is a drug lord. Mayor of Gatayan City Mary-Torres Dimapindan missing; kidnapping suspected. All this and more , on La Télévision Terudélienne DAILY NEWS.

Good evening, my name is Jessica Gutierrez.

Governor Emmanuel Navarro fatally shot during a press conference

At 1035 earlier today during a press conference in Toledo, Governor Emmanuel Victor Diego Navarro, simply known as Manu, was shot in the head. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was pronounced as dead on arrival. Emmanuel Navarro was the patriarch of the well-known Alexian political family, the Navarro Family. He has held the Governorship of Toledo for the past 31 years. The Navarros is the 2nd richest family in Alexis, with an estimated net worth of B1.02 trillion. Although the perpetrator has not yet been identified, it is suspected that their rival family, the Siguancos, have something to do with it.

Image
Portrait of Emmanuel Victor Diego Navarro

The two families have been rivals for over 40 years, with the Navarros gaining the upper hand in 1987. The Navarros had remained the richer of the two but the Siguancos are not too far away. The Siguancos is the 4th richest family in Alexis, with an estimated net worth of B987.06 billion. There had been previous incidents where the two families had violent confrontations. The most recent was the Nestiland Health Group Building Shootout, which occurred in March earlier this year. The Nestilandian Police will be closely investigating this case and made it clear that the perpetrator will be dealt with harsh punishments.

Former President Miguelito Luiz De La Santos II secretly a drug lord?

Recent government reports reveal that former President Miguelito Luiz De La Santos II was secretly a drug lord during his time as President. It was found that he had been supplying 80% of the heroine in Alexis and had made billions of Baavs because of it. This would explain the fortune that Miguelito has amassed over the past 2 years. There currently has not been any information yet about his accomplices but the government is certain that there are close to 10 other people associated with Miguelito's drug cartel.
ImageImage
Former President La Santos II had been supplying heroine all over Alexis for the past 3 years

The government has yet to announce the actions that they will take on regarding the Miguelito fortune. The son of the former President, Miguelito III, who currently plays for the Gatayan City Freefox, has spoken about the situation. "All of this is my father's doing. It has nothing to do with his children, nor his other relatives. Whatever action the government will take, I just hope that it would not harm my siblings and me as well as my other relatives. The fact that they have confirmed that my father is alive, all punishments pending to be given should be for him," he said. The TERPOL has arrested over 145 people over the past 3 months due to drug trafficking. This is part of Premier Redrich's project to stop drug usage in Terudel.

Gatayan City Mayor Missing

Gatayan City Mayor Mary Torres-Dimapindan has been missing for close to 3 days. The TERPOL suspects that she might have been kidnapped by the mafia in Gatayan City. Mayor Dimapindan's father, Obersky Torres, had been battling the mafia for close to 6 years and had recently gotten 5 members arrested. Obersky Torres, who is the newly appointed head of the TERPOL, had taken immediate action on the Gatayan City mafia despite Premier Redrich's warning. Redrich was against the police involvement with the mafia as he felt that it would cause more trouble. As of now, there has been no word from the TERPOL regarding the situation.
Image
Mayor Mary Torres-Dimapindan (Taken 2 days before she went missing)

Premier Redrich during a recent government said that he will not rule out the involvement of the Special Ops if needed. He made it clear that his government will not tolerate the kidnapping of any government members. He hopes that the suspicion of the TERPOL is not true and that Mayor Dimapindan had not been kidnapped. However, he also mentioned the possibility of murder as well as the mayor running away. He emphasised that whatever it is, his government will do its best to find her quickly.

We will be taking a short commercial break. Stay tuned for more stories on the DAILY NEWS on La Télévision Terudélienne.

Highway 1, East Eagle Island, Islas de Águilas
0122 HOURS, 9th NOVEMBER 2018, 31°C DRIZZLING
Lance Corporal AUGUSTIJN PALBEN MALUBAY-MICHIELZOON
Image
Artillery battery in Firebase Ferocity on Hill 88. Several firebases were established
across the countryside, allowing for round-the-clock fire support missions to be called.

I kept my eyes trained on the highway in front of them. The road was filled with potholes, and every once in a while the convoy was harassed by distant sniper fire. The Marines kept their weapons in hand, readying themselves for more combat. I looked at my watch; we had been on the move for the past 18 hours, westwards towards Olite from Lorca. Our mission was to reconnoitre the area around Hill 219, a strategic location where a firebase was going to be set up. Our careful advance westward was marred by landmines and sniper fire. On the 5th mile out of Lorca, the convoy was pinned down by a Philippine machine gun nest. The advance was held up for 6 hours before artillery and air support dislodged the Philippine troops.

I looked to the left of the wheel, at the GPS. Hill 219 was just ahead. The dirt track tapered off as the convoy reached the gate of a village. Several brick houses lined the dirt track, children being ushered off the road by their wary mothers as the convoy pulled up to the village chief's home. Barangay Malobo, a village of no more than 100 inhabitants, was situated at the base of Hill 219. The village chief was an elder man, dressed in a polo shirt and shorts. The frail old man stood up from the chair on his patio, examining the motorcade of vehicles as if not knowing how to react to the sudden arrival of Alexian Marines.

Sgt. Maj. Montano hopped out of the UNIMOG, along with Spec. Micolob. The old man raised his hand in a sort of reluctant greeting as the two marines climbed the slight slope up to the chief's house. Joseph pointed the Mk19 grenade launcher at the chief's house; I could see his trigger finger twitching to let off a few 40mm grenades.

Montano shook the hand of the elder, turning to his translator Micolob, "Mico, ask the old man if he knows the disposition of any Philippine troops nearby,". At the same time, 1Lt. Romeo exited the second Humvee, marching up to the three men, "Specialist, tell this man to tell us the positions of the enemy, we're all sitting ducks here while waiting!"

"Meron bang malapit na pilipinong sundalo?" Micolob asked the man.

The old man showed a toothy grin and shook his head, "Wala po Sir, wala po kaming alam dyan, Sir."

"He says he doesn't know of any Philippine positions nearby, sir."

Sgt. Maj. Montano seemed satisfied with the answer, while 1Lt. Romeo was visibly unnerved. Montano signalled to the rest of 1st Platoon over the radio, "All Chuck Taylor 3-1, dismount victors, proceed on-foot to Rendezvous Point Mike-Sierra. Squad 3 will take point, Squad 1 will take the rear. Chuck-Taylor 3-2 will arrive shortly and remain in the village. Out."

I grabbed my assault rifle from under the dashboard. As we left the village, the 2nd Platoon arrived and formed a perimeter around the vehicles. After a brief discussion with 2nd Platoon's commander, Romeo led the platoon up the tiny trails through the dense brush and up the hill. At a certain point, roughly 400 metres from the village, the trails ended, and we assumed a firing line, carefully advancing up the hill. The hill was about half a kilometre in height, with a gradual incline, though the drizzle had caused the mud to turn into a liquid slurry.

Even with night vision, visibility was still an issue. The others who didn't have night vision resorted to holding their arms out in front of them and feeling their way up the slopes.

PFC. de Vries of squad 3 got his boots snagged on a tripwire, and set of several flares that illuminated the whole platoon. As the flares burned, I could hear the Philippine soldiers riled from their sleep, shouting and clattering around the top of the hill.

"Manga sundalo nang Alexis pumunta kayo sa harap! Barilin nyo lahat yang manga gagona yan!" one of the Philippine soldiers shouted.

Almost immediately tracers lit up our positions. Out the corner of my eye, roughly 20 metres away, de Vries, who had set off the flares, was killed by a fusillade of rifle grenades. More flares were fired by the Philippine troops, further exposing us.

"Fuck, my night vision is useless," screamed Manu, " I can't see jack shit!"

Tracers flew around my head as the Lieutenant crawled behind me towards Dalangin, "I'm gonna call in air support, everyone stay down!"

I tried to crawl up the slippery hill, using my hands like ice picks, attempting to gain any sort of footing to push myself up. I crawled into a crater, where Gonzalez was holed up. He glanced back to look at me, before returning to firing single shots back at the Philippine forces. Gonzalez tapped my helmet, directing my vision toward a Philippine bunker roughly 100 metres away, laying suppressing fire on squad 3.

"That son-of-a-bitch is gonna waste us if we don't put some fire on his ass," said Gonzalez.

I nodded, and readied my Carl Gustav, loading a HEAT round. Dialling my sights for the bunker, Gonzalez cleared the backblast area before tapping my helmet.

"On the way!"

The bunker blew up spectacularly, silencing the machinegun. At the same time I felt a hard thump on my chest, and I fell backwards in a heap. The wind was knocked out of me, and Gonzalez ripped the strike vest off my chest. There was no blood, just a bruise. I was lucky. The firefight continued for another hour; it was almost dawn.

I heard the roar of engines and rotor blades. Navy cobras stated firing on the hilltop, pummeling them with cannon rounds and Hydra rockets. The two cobras lingered overhead, like two dragons, spitting fire on the retreating soldiers. Following their lead, Sgt. Albrecht took the initiative and ran up the hill. We followed suit and claimed the hill. The position was barren; we were told that there were anti-aircraft installations and ammunition dumps. All we claimed were radio equipment and several burned out heavy machine guns and an infantry mortar.

We counted 18 dead Philippine soldiers on the hilltop.

SOMEWHERE IN THE DENSE RAINFORESTS OF EAGLE ISLAND,
ISLAS DE AGUILAS,
0345 HOURS, 21°C, OVERCAST,
20th NOVEMBER 2018,
Pave-Low

In the midst of the sounds made by rain drops and cicadas, Sergeant David "Jun" Becker and Corporal Thel "Whiskey" M'damma have traveled over five kilometers westwards from their camp. The rain and the light mist combined with the pitch-black darkness of the early morning, forced the two men to move ever so slowly at a snail pace to avoid unnecessary attention. At a certain point, the long silent tracking of their target seemed to have payed off as a big opportunity was offered to them. The two men stalked silently through the dense vegetation, hoping to score a decent breakfast. The best one this week, they thought. "Finally, this looks like a good shot" whispered Jun silently as he steadied his aim at the unknowing wild boar feeding on the carcass of a rodent. He proceeded to cock his suppressed rifle quietly to chamber a bullet while Whiskey sat at his side, anticipating. The gradual squeeze of the trigger resulted to a successful hunting trip according to the two men. While Whiskey was shoving the dead boar into a sack, a succession of fast whizzing sound could be heard further up ahead. The sudden whizzing startled the two men, causing them to instinctively duck for cover. They initially thought that they were done for. As they crawled up a few more metres to the edge of a small cliff, officers issuing orders and men running around could be seen. The thing that caught their eyes were the mobile batteries hooked onto trucks launching weapons that are capable at traversing long distances. Jun counted not more than twenty of them. A few moments later, Sergeant Dan "Noble" Ortez was startled while sitting in his makeshift seat back at their temporary shelter as he heard the whizzing sounds above him. He froze to the sight of numerous objects whizzing over his head. Noble stood and watched blankly at the objects speeding past above while trying suppress his fear. At the same time, thinking about his comrades and his family.

The True Paper
Long-range cruise missiles struck Firenze
Casualties has reached 1500
Image
The aftermath of the cruise missile attack on Hotel One-North, 6:45 a.m.

By: Johnson Leora Sanchez De Los Reyes Van Dam
Date: 20th November 2018, 8:31 a.m.

Last night, the city of Firenze came under fire by a barrage of long-range cruise missiles. Most of which were shot down by anti-air batteries stationed in the city. Several radar signatures were detected by the Alexian Airforce at about 4:20 a.m. entering the territorial waters of the Alexis travelling at speeds at about Mach 3. Residences of Firenze were awoken by the wailing of the air raid siren sounding off. Moments later, the the sky over Firenze erupted as Flaks and other anti-air assets started their tirade of fire at the incoming threat. About 15 explosions were reported in the skyline over Firenze according to several eye-witness accounts. Three of the cruise missiles were reported to have hit an office building, the School of Business and Management building in Firenze University and Hotel One-North. The first direct hit by one of the cruise missile was on the School of Business and Management building in Firenze University at 4:23 a.m. The second missile struck an office building in the business district, near Firenze University, at eaxactly 4:25 a.m. The last missile struck the 31st floor of Hotel One-North at 5:12 a.m. The 29th to 40th floor were engulfed in flames by 5:35 a.m. The Firenze Civil Defence have stated that casualties have amounted to over 1500 at 8 a.m. this morning. Over 600 people were killed from the incident and about 900 injured. Meanwhile, property damages have amounted to 80 million Baavs.

Mr. Daniel Roberts, a resident living 300m away from Hotel One-North, who is still shook from the incident, said that he was awoken by his kids during the attack. "I had no idea at first..I woke up in the middle of it all this morning. My eldest son told me to get everyone in the basement because there are explosions happening..and when I heard wailing sounds from a loud siren and saw some orange light outside the window, I realised something was wrong so I stepped out and into the balcony only to see Hotel One-North to get hit by a missile a few seconds later."

"Most of the missiles were like lost sheeps. I was stationed near Santa Ana Bay and I could see some of them started going in different directions once they came close to the coast. As if something was messing with their navigation systems or they were just defective. We could have suffered greater casualties if that was not the case."

SSGT Mike De Los Reyes of the Firenze Civil Defence thinks that people are still stranded on the highest floors of Hotel One-North. "FLIR imagery used by our helis suggested that there are civilians stuck on the 39th and 40th floors. Furthermore getting there will be a great challenge as the one and only stairwell in the Hotel has completely collapsed from the 35th floor onwards. We are planning on evacuating the remaining civilians by helis as the roof of the hotel still looks intact but we will still have to evaluate the integrity of the roof before we can land our helis."

The launch of the cruise missiles were believed to have originated from one of the islands in Islas De Aguilas as there were reports of missile launches from Alexian troops in the islands according to the Alexis Intelligence Agency (A.I.A.). The A.I.A. also believed that the cruise missiles are not of Philippine origin as a dull missile, that has crash landed on a rice field on the outskirts of Firenze city, were identified to be 3M-54E1 Kalibr. The missile originates from Russia and it has been exported to nearby countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. It has not been exported to Philippines. Families that are affected were given aid and were relocated to temporary homes on the outskirts of Firenze City by the federal government. The Premier of Nestiland, Premier Ernecito Johnson De Los Reyes has requested for some anti-air armaments and munitions on the west coast of Nestiland as it is deemed vulnerable.

UITZENDNETWERK VAN ALEXIS-TELEVISIóN NACIONAL DE JUNIO
NEWS IN THE EVENING
Image
|25th of DECEMBER, 2018|TUESDAY|28°C CLOUDY|7.30 p.m.LIVE FROM METRO ALEXIS
Tonight on News in the Evening, Alexian Marines have captured East Eagle Island from Philippine forces. Tensions escalate as Iranian forces capture Basrah, cutting off the critical port of Um Qasr from the rest of Iraq. ASEAN issues statement of solidarity with the Philippines as President Bartolomeo Mateo seeks international condemnation for Alexian 'aggression'. All this and more, on UVA-TNJ News in the Evening.

Good evening and Merry Christmas, my name is Gaspar Westfield.
Alexians control East Eagle Island
Early today, Commandant of the Alexian Marine Corps, Roberto Bautista reported in a press release that the last Philippine troops on East Eagle Island have either withdrew or surrendered. He reported that over 800 Philippine troops have died since the beginning of the conflict, compared to 331 Alexians. The Commandant assured that there has been minimal civilian casualties among the Aguilarians. This was what the Commandant had to say,

"At midnight, the last Philippine defenders in the strategic port of Olite had withdrawn in barges across the bay to West Eagle Island. Our brave troops have captured numerous arms depots and enemy equipment, including howitzers and vehicles. The navy has engaged Philippine aircraft over the past few days, and has successfully shot down a F8 Crusader and two F5 fighters. Although the liberation has taken longer than expected, we remain certain of victory in the Isles."

The assault on the heavily defended port of Olite began a week ago, with heavy shelling and airstrikes from aircraft based on the RAS Cuatro de Junio and Lorca Airport. Lt. Rodrigo Ben Spielberg was the first casualty, being shot in the leg after attempting to bravely silence a machinegun position firing on his position. Before being CASEVAC'd out, our field reporter managed to catch an the Lieutenant recieving emergency medical attention at the Forward Outpost,

"My men have utter confidence," he said as he received additional shots of morphine, "we have prepared well and the men's morale are high. I wish all the best for our troops,"

The final Philippine defenders held out at the local Burger Up restaurant. Only after armoured vehicles and marines surrounded the restaurant did they surrender. Hundreds of ships and sampans were seen in the harbour of Olite, evacuating Philippine troops and equipment. Under fire from our own patrol boats, the enemy managed to withdraw, leaving behind a small rear guard in the town. The civilians cheered as the Alexian tricolour and stars were raised over the town centre. With the capture of Olite, the Philippine presence on East Eagle Island is removed.

Basrah captured by Iranian troops
The military of Iraq is in disarray as Iranian armoured and mechanised divisions storm the city of Basrah in the south of Iraq. The Iraqi army and Sunni militias have been fighting a desperate rear guard against the numerically superior Iranian military. Shi'ite troops within Iraq itself have established pockets of resistance against the Iraqi army.

With this new development, Iraq is cut off from its only sea access in the port of Um Qasr. The city itself is currently under siege from the Iranian paramilitary organization the Basij. The UN has levelled accusations of crimes against humanity against the Basij, with videos surfacing of several fighters executing civilians fleeing from the fighting. Although the authenticity of the videos has been brought into question, many believe that behind the Iranian lines, Sunni men are being rounded up and forced to labour or be executed.

Ayatollah Khameini announced on Iranian national television that "the fall of the Western Puppet 'Republic of Iraq' is swift and sure. By Allah's will, we will prevail over the blasphemers."

Grand Mufti Al ash-Sheikh of Saudi Arabia retaliated by declaring a Jihad against the Iranians, citing the 'systematic destruction of Sunni neighborhoods and shrines' as an escalation of the sectarian nature of the conflict in the Middle East.

As a result of the instability of three of the largest crude oil producers in the world, the price of oil has increased to almost $170 per barrel. This is further amplified by the reports that the United States and Russia are stockpiling more oil for the foreseeable future.

ASEAN declares unity with Philippines over question of Islas de Aguilas
In a press conference attended by the ASEAN secretary-general Lim Jock Hoi, the Association of South East Asian Nations declared its support for the Philippines in the Islas de Aguilas crisis.

"ASEAN views the question of its member state's sovereignty seriously," said Secretary-General Lim, "the Philippine territory of Islas de Aguilas is valid, and we will pursue all avenues to ensure Alexis does not encroach on the territory of a treaty member."

Just last week, the city of Firenze in Nestiland was attacked with long-range cruise missiles which originated from Vietnam. These Vietnamese missiles, based on West Eagle Island, killed numerous civilians after their faulty guidance systems targeted the central city area. An ASEAN coalition of infantry and mechanized units have been deployed to Islas de Aguilas to reinforce Philippine positions, and supplies are being shipped to equip the soldiers.

Mere hours after the ASEAN declaration of hostilities, an Alexian submarine sank the Malaysian Navy frigate, the KD Hang Tuah 24 kilometres south-west of Islas de Aguilas. Her survivors were later rescued by helicopters and seaplanes. Alexian air superiority of the islands were challenged by Malaysian and Singaporean jets operating from Philippine bases in Mindanao 500 kilometres away, namely the SU-30MKM and F-15SG. Our pilots from the bases at Lorca and Olite, aswell as the carrier task force, bravely attempt to clear the skies of foreign aircraft.

Air Force pilot Cpt. Matthew Tómas showed great skill in the air as he became an ace-in-a-day last week, destroying two close air support aircraft, two bomber aircraft and a transport plane. He piloted Alexis's new fighter-bomber, the F-4 Peace Pacific.

President Junker tweeted, "Captain Tómas is one of many well-trained combatants Alexis possesses. With the valour that our troops possess, we shall be victorious in our liberation. Skill in combat shall not go unnoticed."

The RAS Terudel was attacked by attacker aircraft, 19 kilometres east of Islas de Aguilas. The cruiser received negligible damage after an anti-ship missile exploded in the water next to it. The Commandant of the Marine Corps assures us that the further liberation of the islands will be swift and decisive.

Next up will be sports, star striker of Liga Alexis side Firenze Diesel Punks Gustav Raul-Messerschmitt injured in the attacks on Firenze, and will be out for the remainder of the season. He has this to say, coming next.

Debris found in the South China Sea

By: Wendy Wang
25th December 2018

Alexian Airlines Flight 235 was shot down in the South China Sea a week ago, on 16th December 2018. The plane lost contact at about 3.45pm in the afternoon. A Chinese vessel claims that the plane was shot though it has not been confirmed by Alexian Airlines nor any other authority. 92 bodies were recovered, among them was Gatayan City Freefox Star Miguelito Luiz De La Santos III, the son of the former Alexian President.

Flight 235 was on its way to Taipei and it had been 2 hours into the flight when contact was lost. Taiwan has offered to help in the investigation of the cause of the crash. Terudelian Premier Franklin Redrich expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and has made a bold statement claiming that China was to blame for the incident. "It's definitely them who shot the plane down. Period."

A month ago, long-range cruise missiles struck Firenze, killing hundreds. This has resulted in heightened security in Terudel, with the Premier retreating to his underground office below the City Hall in Gatayan City. He urged everyone to stay alert and remain calm.

Flight 235 will go down as one of the deadliest aviation disasters in Alexian history. Parts of the Boeing 737 were found and authorities continue to search for more debris.

Seda Island,
Terudel,
Federal Republic of Alexis,
0210 HOURS, 19°C, OVERCAST,
1st January 2019,
Inspector NATHAN KENNEDY VELACRUZ

Inspector Velacruz was performing last checks on his M4-A1 carbine. Repeatedly checking whether his safety was off, checking whether his firearm is already loaded, making sure his red-dot sight was crystal clear and much more. To his commrades, he may seem paranoid but to Inspector Velacruz, it was more of a ritual. A ritual that he would perform before any mission. In early October of this year, he had been selected for General Junker's personal task force which is the secretive Special Operations Force 8 (SOF-8). The SOF-8's last mission was to bring down the high-profile criminal and traitor Mrs. Jeanie Ainge. This resulted in Ainge's death. Now, Inspector Velacruz along with Fireteam Chili Peppers of the SOF-8 are proning, keeping a low profile with their weapons aimed around their perimeters. Along with them, three more dinghies carrying three separate SOF-8 teams. There were also dozens of other dinghies carrying an array of other special forces such as 2 squads from the 1st Terudel Army Rangers, NATPOL Special Task Force and the NATPOL's K9 Unit. Additionally, there will be helicopter support from the NATPOL. The men are mostly armed with non-lethals such as tasers, tranquilizers and riot guns with non-lethal ammunition. Their main task was to take the former president Miguelito Luiz De La Santos alive to be court-martialled. The former president's mistakes and attrocities were too great for him to just die without facing trial. They men have also recieved word that a news helicopter will be arriving soon to televise the former president's capture in national TV.

(RADIO STATIC)"Baseplate, this is Amber Two-Niner, we have visual on target, ETA; sixty seconds." (RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"Solid Copy Two-Niner. All fireteams switch to secure channel."(RADIO STATIC)

As the small fleet of dinghies were about 20 metres away from shore, all the engines were cut and the squads rowed their boat for the remaining distance in order to maintain the element of surprise. Inspector Velacruz vaulted over the side of the dinghy and proceeded to provide cover, checking the perimeter, for the rest of his team to disembark. After the five-man team had completely disembarked, they paused for a moment and performed last minute checks on their equipments and weapons, especially the non-lethals.

"Safety Off, equipments, check. Security detail, None. We got the go ahead. Stay frosty."

"Rules of engagement sir?"

"Use of non-lethals only for target."

Inspector Velacruz's squad and the rest advanced towards the vegetation.

"Lets make our away to checkpoint Foxtrot-two to cover the Rangers' flank." said Velacruz

"Solid Copy." replied Corporal Alder

The five-man team made their way to their target location to cover the team of the 1st Terudel Army Rangers. Fireteam Chili Peppers tried to make minimal sounds as they moved ever so slowly towards their destination through the dense vegetation. The team are on high alert for any movements, focused at the task at hand amidst the sounds of cicadas and light rain drops. At 0219 Hours, Fireteam Chili Peppers arrived at checpoint Foxtrot-2, now awaiting for the Rangers to carry out the extraction.

Seda Island,
Terudel,
Federal Republic of Alexis,
0219 HOURS, 18°C, SHOWERS,
1st January 2019,
Inspector NATHAN KENNEDY VELACRUZ

(RADIO STATIC)"Baseplate, this is Chili Peppers, we're in position, standing by."(RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"Affirmative Chili Peppers, make sure to provide cover for Amber Two-Niner's extraction procedure, all teams are in position, your call Amber Two-Niner."(RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"Copy that baseplate, we are standing by outside the hut, ETA to extraction, one-five seconds."(RADIO STATIC)

Fireteam Amber Two-Niner of the 1st Terudel Army Rangers took out their tacticals and prepared for breach. Squad leader of the fireteam, Staff Sergeant William Villamor, signaled his men to stack up on the door while 2nd Sergeant Matthew Paras placed a C-2 charge under the makeshift doorknob. The rest of the teams are also in stand-by, looking out for possible hostile accomplices and to prevent any escape from the former president.

"President De La Santos, under the order of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Alexis, you are under arrest for mass murder and the desecration of the Alexis and its people. Come out with your hands up!" said Staff Sergeant Villamor after knocking on the wooden door of the hut.

As the Staff Sergeant finished, the C-2 charge was detonated which sent splinters and sparks flying in the air. Staff Sergeant Villamor kicked down the door and entered the small hut. Three men went inside, while the other two secured the only entrance. Staff Sergeant Villamor went in only to find the place empty. 2nd Sergeant Paras lifted a blanket on the makeshift bed only to find sand bags on the bed. Other than the stack of confidential files and old family picture, bottles of alcohol, about 10kg of heroin and LSD, thick stack of adult magazines and 7.62mm shells, there was no sign of the former president. Just as Staff Sergeant Villamor radioed to Baseplate that the hut was empty, a body came crashing down on the men, through the roof of the hut. The person, who was bare-naked, lunged on Staff Sergeant Villamor's back, stabbing him with a broken bottle in the abdomen repeatedly. 2nd Sergeant Paras and the other Corporal in the hut began shooting the mad man with their full-auto shotguns with non-lethal rounds. The mad man tried to lunge at Paras, ended up biting the 2nd Sergeant's forearm as Paras tried to defend himself. Paras grabbed his pepper-spray from his utility belt and sprayed it on the man's eyes. The rest of the squad came in and shot the mad man's back with tasers. The man flinched and with shear will, managed to rip off the taser probes off of his back. Voices can be heard in the radio, "what's the situation Amber Two-Niner?,..we're moving in to assist." The mad man burst through the wooden walls and made a run for it before Inspector Velacruz's squad came to assist.

"What happened? Where is he?" asked Velacruz

"We found Miguelito, he went North...to the jungle." said Staff Sergeant Villamor while he panted and tended to his wounds

(RADIO STATIC)"Baseplate this is Chili Peppers, we got two casualties, requesting medical support at location Tango-one over."(RADIO STATIC) said Velacruz

(RADIO STATIC)"Copy that Chili Peppers."(RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"This Eagle-One, I got visual on the naked De La Santos moving North, this guy is fast and hauling ass."(RADIO STATIC)
"This is just like Jurassic Park!" said the gunner on the side of the helicopter aiming his gun loaded with tranquilizers.
"Just shut-up and shoot the fucking animal!" replied the co-pilot

Although being mostly inaccurate, the gunner landed 2 shots on the former president's back but he pulled it out of his back moments later. Behind the former presidents, yelling, gunshots and barking of dogs can be heard, in pursuit of Miguelito. Under the influence of drugs, Miguelito ran as fast as he could, vaulting and ducking through obstacles like a professional parkourist and olympic sprinter combined. The helicopter was also recording the entire chase scene from the air. After being tazed, pepper-sprayed and shot by pellets and tranquilizers. Miguelito was still going strong until he tripped on a root. He was later mauled by a K9 unit while trying to get up. The former president punched the animal in the snout to free himself from the jaws of the dog. He continued northwards while being constantly under fire by pellets and tranquilizers. As the chase party arrived at the north-end of the island, the pursuing helicopter lost sight of Miguelito for a brief moment after he slid through a small hole in a fallen tree.

(RADIO STATIC)"This is Eagle-One, I have regained visual on the target lying face down on the sand, just metres away from a makeshift raft, over."(RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"Affirmative Eagle-One, this is Chili Peppers, moving in to secure the target."(RADIO STATIC) said Inspector Velacruz.

Velacruz and his team along with a squad of the NATPOL Special Task Force, approached Miguelito's naked body. His back and buttocks where riddled with blue-black spots, two taser marks and 5 tranquilizers sticking out on his back and bite marks on his arms. He was not moving while being bitten and subdued by two german shepherds. The dogs were gently moved aside and Velacruz took out all the tranquilizers before turning his body over with his face up. Inspector Velacruz could see that the former president was clearly sedated and temporarily paralyzed although he is still smiling through his cocaine-fueled delirium with bloodshot eyes. On his right hand, he tightly held a picture of his children and a pack of cocaine. He would be later brought back to Ciudad De Alexis where he will undergo thorough identification procedures before facing trail.

Besides Staff Sergeant Villamor and 2nd Sergeant Paras, the dog named "Cooper" sustained a broken tooth. All three received medical attention later.

(RADIO STATIC)"Chili Peppers to Baseplate, we have secured the target, we will now bring him back to the dinghies and RTB, over..just another day in the office."(RADIO STATIC)

(RADIO STATIC)"Hear you loud and clear, Chili Peppers. Splendid work boys."(RADIO STATIC)

Miguelito Central Boulevard, Ciudad de Alexis, National Federal District
1302 HOURS, 20th FEBRUARY 2019, 35°C CLEAR
MIGUELITO LUIZ DE LA SANTOS II

The convoy trundled down the boulevard leading towards the Supreme Court Building in downtown Ciudad de Alexis. Located two kilometres from the National House, the Supreme Court Building was first opened in 1901 by Spanish authorities after 17 years under construction. Now, although much of it remains intact, there have been several attempts at looting during the War of Liberation and the Five-Day War. Several old works, including a portrait of the First Spanish Viceroy of Alexis, were stolen and presumed to have been sold on the black market.
Image
The Supreme Court Building in downtown Ciudad de Alexis

Miguelito sat in his blacked-out SWAT van; windowless, cold and encased in a-quarter-inch bulletproof steel. To his front, left and right, men in balaclavas, black uniforms and sunglasses stared at him, fingers on the triggers of their weapons. Miguelito could make out several motorbikes and another similar vehicle in front of his. His hands bound behind him, his mouth gagged and a GPS tracker attached to his leg, all Miguelito could do was stare forward, trying to make something out of the reflection of his captor's sunglasses.

"Miguelito Boulevard," the driver quipped as they turned the corner, the final stretch towards the Supreme Court Building, "how ironic. I worshipped you, Sir, until I found out what a power-hungry freak you actually were..."

"Quit the talking, Indie," said the man who rode shotgun, slapping the driver on the shoulder.

The van halted, and blinding light entered the back of the van as the doors swung open. As Miguelito was pulled out of the van by several people, Military Police and Republican Marshals kept the crowds of journalists and the public away from Miguelito by brandishing their bayonets. Pointing their rifles at the throngs of people who wanted to get a look at the man who plunged the nation into chaos, they managed to keep the crowd at bay. As Miguelito climbed the steps into the Supreme Court Building, a clump of fertiliser hit him on the back of the head, prompting the Military Police and Republican Marshals to display their bayonets in the on-guard position, leading to several members of the public being hospitalized from stab wounds. As the crowd was increasingly agitated, Miguelito was rushed into the building and the doors sealed behind him.

Miguelito entered the courtroom, deadly gazes focused solely upon him from those in attendance. The prosecution sat to the left while his lawyer sat to the right. Miguelito sat, and the session continued. Presiding over the court was seasoned Judge Joshua Artemis Malagasy, flanked to his left by a man in an officer's uniform and a man in a business suit to the right. Miguelito thought to himself that they were the cronies of the bastard usurper Ulrich. As the day continued, the defence was asked to make a statement. His lawyer, one of the most experienced, and expensive, in Alexis, Niel Tan Zi Shang, stood up and read from a piece of paper he had readied weeks prior,

"Your honour, my honourable gentlemen and ladies in presence in this courtroom, we may be quick to suggest that my client is a warmonger, murderer and traitor to our glorious nation. However, we must view this in the lens of the circumstances that we faced when we were granted our independence. Miguelito has put into place the foundations that have built this nation, he had risked his life down fighting against the imperialists for years and this is how we treat him. His months of fighting for his life against his own countrymen, the death of his wife, of his son, as well as his time on Seda Island, has left him an empty shell of his former self. This man is clearly mentally unstable and is unfit to stand trial!"

"Liar! Traitor!" shouted several men from the back of the courtroom. More murmuring could be heard before Judge Malagasy smashed his fist onto the desk.

"Silence, another outburst like that and I'll have all of you leave the room at once,"

The hearing continued, and Miguelito was asked to sign a document confirming his understanding of the charges laid out against him;

  • Premeditated Murder of Bartolomeo Francesco Hernangomez Sanders, Emily Hernando Sanders (née Rodriguez), Salinas Sanders, Anne Sanders and Mary Sanders, Wessel Siegfried de Vries
  • Murder and unlawful killing of Alexians
  • Acts of Terrorism against the people of Alexis (during the Five-Day War)
  • Kidnapping of various government officials, the Sanders Family, Wessel Siegfried de Vries
  • Torture of various people
  • Compromising the sovereignty of Alexis by collaborating with foreign nations (the Philippines, the People's Republic of China)
Jose Dominguez y Don Luiz Umali Federal Prison, Santiago de Compostela, National Federal District
0600 HOURS, 19th DECEMBER 2019, 24°C THUNDERSTORM
MIGUELITO LUIZ DE LA SANTOS II

Miguelito's plea of insanity had fallen on deaf ears. Consigned to his fate, Miguelito had sat quietly in the back of a limousine while on the way from his holding cell in the Central Police Headquarters to Jose Dominguez y Don Luiz Umali Federal Prison on the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela. The convoy was surrounded by hordes of people, throwing stones, vegetables, eggs, waste and anything else that could be flung, at the convoy. People carried placards that said "Down with the despot", or "Crucify Miguelito". He had little time to worry about what they had to say though; he knew as soon as he reached the prison, he would be on his last legs already.

Even the best lawyer in Alexis couldn't save him from the executioner. The prosecution had brought up several people, from his own personal bodyguard, a Janitor at the National House, as well as the former head of Department Four, Tersal Ainge, to testify against Miguelito. When he saw Ainge speak against him during the hearing, Miguelito lost all hope. There was concrete evidence presented against him, and anyone who could testify for Miguelito was either dead or on the run. Ainge had been promised clemency for his crimes is he spoke up against his former master.

Next to him was the Bishop of Gatayan City, Rev. Tomas Fredrich. He had made a call to his family hours before, and he was assured by his lawyer that they would be under the safe care of the Social Service. Miguelito could see the imposing walls of the Federal Prison tower above the fields of rice that surrounded it. Miguelito was led out of the car and through several security checkpoints before making his way to a cell close to the yard, where his execution would take place. With the time ticking, the Bishop entered the cell before being promptly dismissed by Miguelito,

"I do not need any more comforting lies, Reverend."

The Bishop spoke in hushed tones, "Pray not that you are afraid, child. Confess to me your sins, and accept Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour, and in the afterlife, you shall receive greater blessings than those who would turn their backs upon faith. The Lord forgives, and you may rest assured that I will not divulge any information from our meeting."

"Thank you, Reverend, but I don't think I need to worry about anything else anymore, I die with a clean conscience."

"Very well, may the Lord accept you into his chosen few."

Miguelito placed his head onto the cover of the Bible grasped by the Bishop, as the Reverend Bishop muttered a few more words in prayer. Miguelito could only think of all the things he'd done leading up to this, whether it had all been worth it. All the people dead, Zelha and his son, as well as his own life, about to be taken away by a man in a mask. It all seemed arbitrary to him.

There was a knock on the door, and Miguelito was brought out by the Prison warden and the Bishop into the yard, where a large stage had been set up. Several hundred people, whom Miguelito had invited, sat on chairs in the rain, drenched from head to toe. He climbed the steps to the stage, noticing a block of wood, and a large, muscular man who wielded a sword in his sheath. Beheading had last occurred in Alexis in 1891; a form of capital punishment that was thought to befit a man of a wealthy or influential background. The usual form of capital punishment came in the form of hanging.

As his time approached, he made one last speech to the audience, "I die with a clean conscience today. I would like to send my regards to my children in Gatayan City, as well as the cook who prepared my last dinner yesterday, simply amazing. Get on with it, headman."

Miguelito put his head on the chopping block and heard the large two-handed sword being pulled out of its sheath. The executioner dipped the sword in a mixture of oils and floral scented perfumes before the Bishop made one last sermon to the crowd. The heavy rain drowned out his monologue. The warden checked the time, and once it was already 7 am, he signalled to the executioner to behead Miguelito. In one fell swoop, the executioner severed Miguelito's head from his body, followed by several people in the crowd screaming and fainting. The Bishop carried his head and placed it in a casket that was already prepared beforehand, and along with the rest of his body, was buried in the prison cemetery.

In an interview with a local newspaper later, the Bishop said that Miguelito's last words moments before decapitation was "Puta".
