The best way to get involved in R/D is to look at the gameplay forums to see which groups do what then join one. Just starting with no knowledge is not going to get you far, joining an existing group allows you to the benefit of learning from people and organizations with years of experience at whatever they chose to do. Most major organizations have fairly active threads on the GP forum.

Well, that's dark. As for your question, it is extremely difficult to do so, and all known dual-organizations typically have an ulterior motive.

Last time I checked participating in a legal approved activity on this site wasn't considered griefing. Also I refer to previous arguments that the communities aren't destroyed it's only the name of the region that is at most. Most of the time the natives relocate to a new region they create with an active founder and as such the community still remains.

If I really wanted to I could point out how defenders try to protect them yet don't succeed. And how raiders do have more successes and fun since they are the ones that act first making the move so defending is purely reactionary and you won't know if there will be raiders on to try to stop once update starts.

Eh, it's difficult but possible. Most groups that claim to do both don't do much of one, groups tend to lean one way or the other. If you are looking for a raiding group, I can help find those, since I'm in the leadership of one

Doing both consistently is difficult, because most players don't *want* to do both, at the end of the day, and working with partners when you do both can be easier said than done, though not impossible, depending on the specific strictures of how you construct your rules on what you''ll raid and what you'll defend.

Invasion has not been griefing since they got rid of the griefing rules. Invasion is not griefing because a region isn't the community and no real harm is caused.

Depends who you ask. There are definitely orgs out there that do both.

However you will find that certain other orgs get very toxic towards people with ideas like yours. In general I would personally recommend an org like SPSF (not my org) if you want to get involved in a bit of both worlds.

If you wanna learn how to defend, and have a generally good time, I suggest The Order of the Grey Wardens but if you want to experience something a little bit more than just R/D, I suggest The Union of Democratic States

Invasion has not been griefing since they got rid of the griefing rules. Invasion is not griefing because a region isn't the community and no real harm is caused.

Okay, I should have been more clear - I'm not talking about the act of raiding per se, I'm talking about what was (and still, though less commonly, is) referred to as "griefing" (banjecting natives, passwording the region, turning it into a trophy), as opposed to just "crashing", even well after 2006. My quip about the acceptability was referring to that too - Macedon would be acceptable now, I think. And I don't know why.

lol Funny, but I don't think that was the reply Consular was looking for.

Well, if you want do both I suggest you look into some of these regions: TWP, Lily and TSP. The West Pacific and Lily do both defending and invading but lean on doing more invading, while TSP also does both but leans more on the defender aide of things. There might be a few other active regions that do both but I, a defender, don't really recall doing anything with them.

I am biased towards the SPSF, that'd mean having someone new around defending with us. I could also try to convince you to join the R/D army I am part of, but since they are strictly defender I don't think you would wnjoy.

More importantly, join somewhere with a fun community you enjoy being part of.

You can create a puppet and move to your desired region wihout having your main nation leaving your curentt region. In fact, creating puppets is a big part of R/D if you didn't already know.
