Huswyae got deleted, and I made Vescus which failed, so I made this nation but forgot about the LMTU. The old thread is gone, and although I announced the dissolvement of the LMTU, it brings me great joy to announce we are re-opening for business. In terms of RP, Huswyae is the largest state in the Huterric Union, and will not be forgotten. All previous members are allowed back in without needing to apply unless they wish to step down or have CTE'd.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

As of 2nd January 2018, the LMTU are no longer discriminating against wing, and left wing libertarian nations may join the LMTU. We require you be a libertarian nation, but the decision to allow left wing libertarian nations has been made to show the LMTU values the idea of liberty more than it does left or right wing views.

The Libertarian Military and Trade Union (LMTU) seek to create an alliance between like-minded nations. This started when Huterrica started to get a few allies and wanted them to all be friendly with each other. Therefore, here is the LMTU, ready for new members. The LMTU's HQ is at the Slatterwood Tower, next to the Laclan International Stock Exchange in the borough of Trenton in Laclan. The committee as a result meet here. In the event Laclan is not suitable for use as a base, our branches will split, and our alliance eill have the following HQs: Ecklin, Huterric Union (LMTU Legislation); .

Joining Criteria

1. Your nation must allow same sex marriage and same sex adoption.
2. Your nation must have total freedom of speech, thought, and religion.
3. Your nation MUST be capitalist
4. Your nation must have free trials held for its criminals.
5. PMT or early FT.
6. Your nation must have privacy and personal freedom.
7. Your nation cannot be totalitarian!

Political Stance: Right now: a lawless democracy. The acting president wishes to provide stable government influence with a revamped police force and military, but growth is hard. We're fighting to become a Constitutional Indirect Democracy.

How much does the government fund the military? Right now, an attempt to revamp the military is underway. Warfare of the past has citizens worried about voting in potential war mongers in congress. So unfortunately, 0%.
Is the military used often? Not at all. Once we get enough citizen support to get pro military politicians in office, we can vote in some reform. Right now the most influential voices in favor of a publicly owned military view the military as a tool to defend and provide relevant and necessary retaliation. With prudence it can attack expanding bureaucratic terror. It is not a tool for social justice. Is is not a dictatorship wrecking ball. It is not a seed for future democracies.

As of now, miltaristically speaking, all I could offer is a peace treaty. Once our military is up and running, I wouldn't mind negotiating a bigger role in protecting member nations. Although mostly it would revolve around providing a dependable navy to help defend trade, and only immediately after a nation has been attacked, not as general policy.
