A beginner's guide...

Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest, aiming to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple rules and regulations that you'll need to follow.

 1. To start, you must sign up for the contest. Do so by using the form below and posting that you sign up in this thread. Make sure you sign up before the cutoff date. You won't be penalized if you sign up and don’t end up posting a song. You then post the song in the IC thread after a host vote (see previous contests to see what a "normal" post looks like).
 2. At the end of the host bidding period, all nations which have signed up at that point may vote for the nation that will host the contest. Instructions will be posted by this account, and all host votes should be telegrammed to this account as well. The winning bidding nation will then create the IC thread.
 3. The contest is based upon the Eurovision Song Contest: nations will "perform" their song. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used (usually linked via YouTube). At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations are not allowed. Nations are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative. English is not compulsory, and other languages are encouraged.
 4. Once the IC thread has been posted whenever the winning bidding nation chooses, nations will submit songs before the deadline. After the deadline nations may not edit or alter their song in any way, unless otherwise instructed by the Committee. Also, after the deadline and any interval act (wait for the signal from the host nation), nations vote, ranking their top ten songs in the following format: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in the IC thread. Nations may not vote for themselves. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote.

If you don't know how to sign up, use this form below; this should help. Not all of these fields have to be filled in, but it certainly helps.

Code: Select all
Nation Name: Your nation's name goes here.
Official Broadcaster: Your official broadcaster for WV goes here.
Song Title: The IC Song title goes here.
Artist(s) Name(s): The name of your act goes here.

Tune: The real life tune you're basing your song on goes here.

 1. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one edition in order to qualify to host a following edition. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic and fair result.
 2. At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations of real life songs will result in disqualification. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
 3. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
 4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation (that is another nation controlled by the same player); the master nation must confirm their puppet on the thread. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
 5. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the Committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification. A user controlling a master and puppet nation together can only award a third nation a total of 18 points.
 6. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If at any point, you feel you are a victim, or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.
 7. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process. Conspiring with fellow users to rig any of the votes is illegal and will result in sanctions.
 8. Users may "reserve" slots in the running order of the contest, but if you do so and don't finish your entry by the deadline, you will receive a one-contest ban. An entry is accepted if it has a complete set of lyrics, regardless of whether stage directions have been finalized or not.
 9. Users may not edit their entries or votes after the deadlines for any reason, including spelling or grammatical errors, unless otherwise instructed to by the Committee. If you'd like to edit something in after the deadline, please ask the Committee for permission first.

So basically, be original, try to be fair, don't be a jerk, and have fun. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to TG the Committee- it helps if you add the Committee's individual member names (Kalosia, Ethane, Todlichebujoku, Mister X, and Normandy and Picardy) in the "To:" box along with "WorldVision Committee" for a faster response.

Even if you've missed the deadline or aren't participating, feel free to discuss the contest in this thread or post commentary in the IC. You'll find that people greatly appreciate some good commentary.

With all that said, welcome to WorldVision!

In too, confirming possession of the wires above Lons' head.

Additionally, Goluta will hold a one-time-only type of National Final:

Golutian Superb Character Breaking National Final, Bane of Roleplay, for Indecisive Horror Music Extravaganza
(GSCBNFBORFIHME for short)

Because I'm indecisive, and the method behind the options is hard to ICly justify, an OoC national final for Goluta this edition. Your options will be:

A. All the Way - Steel Thrust https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ci-a2tbEdc
Pirate folk. Some innuendos I guess.
B. Win - Sajofi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVWfqOSdzs4
LT United meets polka.
C. Spread my wings - ALMANAC feat. Rillit School Children's Choir https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzo7SNVB_rI
This is what I'm sending to WHF if it does not win this NF - song was written as the next entry for Lons back in 2015. Oops.
D. Hopeful - Ziroc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw3d9KTYHIE
Electropop with a flashy show.
E. Forced to - Put this here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0wfUTU8d5A
Don't vote for this.

F. Pillagers of Vixov - Pillagers of Vixov https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f55CqLc6IR0
Pirate metal meets Golutian history lesson.
G. Forest's Growth - Maiden https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSTkFjfC1Cg
I just love ONUKA unghhh

Aight, send me a TG or Discord message in which you give 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 point(s) to any of the GSCBNFBORFIHME entries A, B, C, D, F and G. As I said, you'll definitely be seeing C soonish regardless of the result, but apart from that I have no clue what happens to the losers. They could just be recycled into the machine...

Also pre-confirming Saviera, perhaps not right away, but don't say we didn't tell you when the signup post comes.

After a brief two year absence from the Worldvision Song Contest, the PNB has decided to make a surprise return to the contest. Shortly after the 54th edition of Worldvision, the PNB was faced with a severe corruption allegation, and several of the broadcaster's chief editors and journalists were fined and arrested. Furthermore, it was revealed to the Worldvision Committee that the PNB had intentionally staged several interruptions while broadcasting the Britonish act, which was against the rules of the Worldvision Song Contest. Therefore, the PNB had no other choice but to withdraw from the contest, where the broadcaster was subsequently allocated additional government funds, which allowed it to rebuild itself into what it is today.

The Landa vy Polkopiya, which served as a National Final for the majority of Polkopia's participation in the Worldvision Song Contest, is also set to make a return. The PNB invites all participating international juries to visit the PNB's website and to vote. Unlike previous editions of the contest, the nations' votes will be released to the public. This is to ensure a fair and truthful result.

"Welcome to Izmepisma. 9 songs have been chosen out of a field of hundreds waiting for their shot at Izmedu's WorldVision baton, but only one song can remain standing"

Tying with Todlichebujoku in a finish that would end with in a 2nd place, Izmepisma's latest result sees Terezija Novak extending Izmepisma's run of top 5 results and also provides the fourth podium finish in the six editions that the national final has been used to determine Izmedu's entry, RTI headed into the 57th WorldVision Song Contest in high spirits. Izmepisma was truly the selection format that helped further shape the Izmeduan entry and the early investment into the national final format paid off. After a high, RTI renewed the format once again but decided to take things much more smoothly and differently for this edition's Izmepisma...

With "Rat" securing Izmedu's closest result to a second win, there was an uptick of songs in consideration following the massive hype from the near-win. About 2400 songs were received by RTI, with many echoing successful WorldVision entries. Additionally, there was an uptick in returnees from past contests, with many hoping that perhaps their second or third time would do the trick. After an intense televoting-only semi-final process, 9 songs now stand before you to comprise the grand final of this edition's Izmepisma.

THE OFFICIAL PLAYLIST FOR IZMEPISMA

Song #1

Song #8
Natallija Tomcic – Vratim

Tune: Severina - Kao

Song #9
Tamara K. - Don't Let This Moment Fade
Tune: Carly Rae Jepsen - Cut to the Feeling

International juries will vote by ranking their top 7 songs in the following format. 12 points to their favorite, 10 to their 2nd, 8 to their 3rd, then 6, 4, 2, and 1 points for 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively. Your least favorite 2 songs will not receive any votes. To vote, simply send a TG to Izmedu with the format (and if you have a national final, let me know and I will vote for yours in return).

The final result of Izmepisma will be determined through a 50/50 split of the international jury and public vote. The amount of points that the public will give out will be determined by how many international juries vote for the national final.

DEADLINE FOR VOTES: SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 9:00PM PDT

After returning to Worldvision, the Polkopian National Broadcaster (PNB) has allocated enough funds to host the contest. Through various partnerships with Polkopian catering companies, accommodation services, and the public transportation network, the PNB has ensured that everything will ready, in order to ensure a fabulous Worldvision experience for participants and tourists alike.

Welcome back to Peeto!

Welcome to the city of Peeto, the bustling and exciting capital city of the Allied States of Polkopia, ready to host the Worldvision Song Contest! Peeto is the second largest city in Polkopia, yet it has the greatest diversity out of anywhere else in the nation. With a population just over 3.5 million, there's no shortage of things to do! Whether you're visiting a museum, scaling the Granik Cliffs, or touring the Old City, you can be sure that, no matter your interest, the city of Peeto will have you covered!

Transportation:
Transportation to and from the city is as easy as ever! Peeto has two international airports, one of which having flight connections in over 300 cities! Aeroport Nobunovski (NKI) receives just under 1,200 flights per day, making it one of the busiest, yet efficient, airports in the nation! If air travel isn't your preferred way of traveling, not to worry! Polkoipia has recently extended their train network to the nation's neighbors, and the train just so happens to make a stop in Peeto!

Getting around the city is just as easy! With a fully-functional monorail, metro, and bus network, mass transit in Peeto couldn't be more efficient! Because of actions taken by the Polkopian government to reduce carbon emissions, cars are not as frequently seen as they were in the past, so taking a taxi may be difficult. That being said, most people within the city commute by bicycle, scooter, or some form of mass transit, so you need not to worry about dealing with inner-city traffic!

Accommodation:
As Peeto remains Polkopia's second-most visited city in the nation, the city has no shortages of hotels! With thousands of hotels for your nation's participants to choose from, they will have the option to reside in a comfortable inner-city loft, a sleek and contemporary villa in a family-friendly suburban area, or a robust cabin, hidden away within the dense forests on the outskirts of town! Of course, guests aren't limited to just these three options, but these are just prime examples of the endless options available to guests!

The proposed venue for the 57th Worldvision Song Contest is Coinoff Stadion, the same venue that hosts the annual Landa vy Polkopiya.

The Coinoff Stadium is a relatively new structure, built in the early 21st century, and is currently the venue of choice for the annual Landa vy Polkopiya, as well as both national and international artists who perform in Polkopia. This structure is one of only four venues in the entire country which hosts international artists on a frequent basis. Of course, for Worldvision, renovations will have to be underdone in order for the venue to be able to hold such a large audience, but plans are already underway to expand the seating capacity by 25,000, bringing the total seat capacity to 98,000, just in time for the contest! The venue's location is very convenient as well. Though not located in the immediate downtown area, or čentra grad te, in Polkopian, the venue is located off of the corner of 14th Avenue and 63rd Street, which is the stop for two metro lines, and a block away from the nearest monorail stop.

The stage is the same one that is used for the Landa vy Polkopiya. Though, by itself, it looks rather plain, there are no shortcomings to a stage like this! As you can see, there are five massive LED screens on the back, allowing for the broadcaster to be extremely creative when the big night comes. In addition, the floor also has it's own LED screen, as well as the sides of the stage, and even the stairs! Along each edge of the stage, there are five spaces to be left for pyrotechnics, water effects, confetti, or anything else that the broadcaster might deem necessary to deliver a breathtaking performance. Located at the center of the stage, is a double-platformed pedestal. These can be raised at heights of 30 feet high, so the artist will be able to stand above the crowd while singing his or heart out! Above the stage, there is an emission tank, which can release anything (within reason), allowing for great effects! Want to make a fog cloud to hang above the artist for the entire song? Sure! How about making it rain? Absolutely! The options are indeed endless here, when it comes to this stage.

Don't believe us when we tell you the capabilities of this stage? Martin Shakarov, designer of the stage, even recreated the winning performance for the 56th Worldvision Song Contest, set at the stage in Peeto, rather than Besini. The image he depicted would be shown during the highlight reel after all the acts have performed. The full image can be found below:

This year, the PNB had decided to keep it simple, yet interesting, in regards to the nations' postcards. An example of a standard postcard can be found below. The postcard is meant to represent a standard Polkopian act in Worldvision, with the artist and the song title kept anonymous.

Image

The postcards will feature a group of individuals participating in an activity, commonly practiced in the representing nation. Each nation's broadcaster must film the location themselves and hand it into the PNB for editing*. The resulting postcard will feature that clip, as well as the song title and artist(s) from that country, with the detailing in the nation's national colors.

*All you'd have to do is send Polkopia a TG with an activity.

Image

We hope that you will consider Peeto, Polkopia, as a viable choice to host the 57th Worldvision Song Contest.
Thank you.
