Battle For Dysterian Day 56
Recap (So I can speed this along a little and get back to the LFN
Citys had fallen. But they were still hard pressed to continue well into the winter. Fighting a war against what was left of the army and that of the gorrilas in the citys trying to kill the Sevevillian enemy. There is a total of 15,000 Sevevillian soldiers in the fledgeling nation. The Sevillian soldiers have rudimentary supply lines set up and have almost broken through to the Former USC line that has proved difficult to move. Although the lines had been completely broken through they could not get over the old Sevevill defences that had been upgraded in the war. Although now Sevevill held air superiority.
Pvt. James Wilkonshire. 99th Infantry 22nd Army. Position Alfa. Convoy Checkpoint three. Route 66
He stood at his post along with the twenty other Seveillian soldiers who manned the checkpoint. The goal was to provide a save space that was somewhat fortified to refuel and repair. Route 66 was one of the most dangerous with completely dirt roads and lots of mud. Marines had turned trucks into death machines fitting 50. Cals and armored plates to the large trucks. They had started making them into tanks instead of supply trucks. They still used canvas topped trucks just now there were men in those with large mounted guns. The forested pass made it a big spot for ambush. The outposts and continues patrols before and after the large convoys moved through helped but not alot. Trucks still came up to the checkpoints tatterd and barely running. They tried to fix most here but they had a small truck graveyard. It was cold as winter was setting in. Workers had started to swap their small coats and armor for larger ones. underneath their equipment.
"Sir Convoy 5 is approaching. They have a truckload of wounded." Another soldier said to a superior. The twenty of them moved to their battle stations and armored up as the convoy of 8 approached. Three Trucks, two Humvees, and three canvas top trucks were approaching the checkpoint.
"Open the gates" Someone yelled and the trucks entered. It dident look as if anyone had escaped unfazed by the combat. Somehow two or three gunners had managed to take all the bullets to armor and just got scratched. The solid metal gates closed as soldiers moved the bodies and injured form the trucks.
"We need medivac to Position Alfa. Route 66. ASAP multiple injured." Was yelled over the radio. A helicopter pad was installed in each of the outposts built to medivac soldiers if needed.
"Get on the radio and say that convoy 5 is down due to lack of crew. Not many of these men will be able to move on" Yelled the Sargent who was running around yelling at people. The bodies and injured were removed form the truck. The stations medic was working hard to patch all of them up for transport. Body bags were being placed down and bodies were being moved to them. Climbing up the side of one of the canvas tops to shut it off as it was the only truck still running. He opend the door and found the cloth seats covered in blood. Bullet holes were all over the cab. A empty rifle sat on the floor bullet casings all over the floor. He turned the keys and the engine stoped before he dropped to the ground. The sound of a helicopter could be heard overhead as it ca me down and softly landed on the helipad with two more following. This would be a long cleanup op. The canvas tops would have to be unloaded and the pickups would need to go to the maintenance. But death was in the air. Five man pickups were lucky to have one man alive. The canvas top drivers had barely made it down the steps of their trucks. Gunners from pickups and hummves had bullets lodged in their armor and had used up most of their 50. cal ammo. The enemy had figured out how to stop the Sevevill movements by cutting them off. But cargo was still making it through the main militaries as the soldiers advanced. It was the gorillas that the people had to worry about.
Officer. Jon Perici. 17th Precinct Seve City.
He got in his police cruiser. A 2017 Dodge Charger with the simple dark blue stripe down the side and Seve City Police written along the side. He checked his car over. A police issue Semi Auto M4a2 rifle was in the trunk along with his rain gear. cones. Dog food and some spare ammunition. He also had some random misc stuff in the trunk like a box filled with paperwork and some gloves and baggies for evidence. He also had a industrial sized jack and a spare set of handcuffs. He locked the truck and got in the cruiser. Starting the engine he checked his lights and camera equipment. Sevevill police officers had been required to wear body cameras since 2004 when a police officer was involved in a shootout between two Connarian Citizens who had brought rifles over the border. The Military police had been wearing them longer. He flicked the cars dashcam on and pulled out of the police station. It was about seven at night. The sun was long set but people were still out. He was in Jamestown. A area outside the airport known as a party area. Lots of drunks and clubbers out at this time at night. He waved at another officer form his precinct.
"Disturbance. 494 NW Angle Street . Possible 10-16. Officer required immediately." Came over the radio.
"10-4 on my way now." He said into the radio
He turned on his lights and sped around cars. He arrived on a nice street. Lower income housing in Sevevill just tended to be high density or smaller homes. Yelling could be heard form the street. "Officer 103 10-23. I am going in to investigate now" He turned the lights off and drove his car up to the house. Flipping his body cam on and got out of the car. He walked up to the house. He knocked. "Police Please open the door." Nothing. "Police Please open the door sir" One time more no responce. "Officer 103 I would like to request more units to the scene." The door opened. A lady. Not much older than 40 opened the door."
"Hello officer. How may I help you tonight?" She asked kindly.
"I was called to check on a disturbance reported to us. Is anything going on between you and your husband? Or other family members?"
"No... No of course not. Please please come in if you want to check."
"Officer 103. Entering premises, yes I would like to take a look around and talk to your husband if thats ok."
"Of cource officer. Hes in the kitchen cleaning the dishes. Ill show you." He walked up to the kitchen. The lady let him in first. The sound of police sirens could be heard approaching the house. The lady started to twitch a little bit. She lit a cigarette quickly. "Sorry if the smoke bothers you officer" He dident awnser. He saw something the woman did not appear to have noticed yet. Or she knew and wanted him to see it. The man was dead on the floor. Bullet wound though the head. Solid crisp bullet hole through the sink window.
"Officer 103 10-79, Mam please sit in your living room while I question your husband." She turned and left. "We need a medical team"
