WITH THE KNOWLEDGE of impending nuclear warfare; and the capability that nuclear weaponry will be utilized daily in NationStates, the idea of a Nuclear Defence Committee has been drafted up by Rolhera. The clause outlines a mutually assured destruction policy as well as any peacekeeping and foreign aid possible in regional countries that have been hit by a nuclear payload.
Section 1.0
MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION
This section defines the terms “payload” and “mutually assured destruction”. Payload is defined as a nuclear missile, specifically after detonation (eg. a nuclear payload has hit New Cambria.) Mutually Assured Destruction is the policy that assures mutual destruction in self defence against anyone who attacks a member of the committee.
UNDER THE EVENT that a nation-state is to be hit with a nuclear payload, the other members of the NDC, with the victim nation included, will ensure mutual destruction by returning the fire with their own nuclear payload.
RECOGNIZING that this is a self-defensive measure, and to be used as a last resort in response to being targeted by nuclear weapons, not in the effort to attack other nations as a coordinated effort.
Note: The second section is purely for RP (unless humanitarian relief is added in with accordance to the nuclear warfare being enabled.)
Section 2.0
PEACEKEEPING AND FOREIGN AID
This section defines the terms “peacekeeping”, “foreign aid”, and “military aid”. Peacekeeping is defined as the act or mission of sending military troops to a target nation under the orders of keeping peace, not to participate in battles on any side of a war. Peacekeeping troopers may defend themselves from those who attack them, but their primary goal is saving lives and keeping peace in areas that have otherwise been decimated - economically, militarily, or otherwise. Foreign aid is defined as the act of sending any service towards a country that has been hit with a damaging event. Contributions can include medical services, monetary aid, humanitarian aid, environmental cleaning, and military aid if necessary. Military aid is defined as sending peacekeeping troops to help keep peace -- not to help fight wars.
UNDER THE EVENT that a nation-state is to be hit with a nuclear payload, or hit with a catastrophic or otherwise damaging event, that peacekeeping measures and foreign aid will be deployed by region members.
RECOGNIZING that this is at the discrepancy of those who are willing to send foreign aid, and that they are not under any obligation to help other nations that reside in the region
REALIZING that if foreign aid is requested by a target nation, all members of the NDC should not hesitate to assist them in any way possible -- be it any of the ways outlined above, or be it in a non-orthodox form of assistance.
The NDC is a defensive measure, not to be used offensively. If you wish to join the NDC, we are open for members. Simply post below and you will be added to the list of members. If you wish to put something in your spoiler, it would help spread awareness of the NDC and would warn potential aggressors.
