Blackstarr to represent Zeganas at WV 55

After what has been a very controversial entry from last year, comes another, most likely less controversial entry. Derrick Starr, mostly known as Blackstarr, has won his bid to compete at the 55th World Vision song contest. He's 19 years old and comes from the Republic of Megan. He has made music in recent years that have had many mixed reviews but had a big following that has increased recently, and now with his second studio album about to come out, his bid to the WorldVision song contest may boost his notoriety.

He will be the first openly gay Zeganasian to participate in an international song festival, but has said that he has no intentions of expressing his feelings of love, but instead his feelings of sorrow, and what coping mechanisms are used to "hold onto hope". It will be quite the show this year, and we look forward to seeing the other entries of WorldVision.

The Powers of Todlichebujoku, Kalosia, and Izmedu are combined to give you...
Image
BONDING TOGETHER IN DREÏCHIBU-U-MOUSIKI

Following a night of three broadcasters sharing way too many drinks, and finding out that there was indeed a place in Izmedu where the three nations were interlocked together, the combined powers of TOBUK, RTVK, and RTI have decided to bond together and present to you their joint bid to host the 55th WorldVision Song Contest. With three powerhouses behind the curtain, it is certain that a lot of ah, energy is being built behind this bid, and with such a strong bond, you're bound to get some explosive results. So, let's get started, with a picture of the island itself!
Image

Doesn't it just look gorgeous!? I wonder what that pointy thing on the left is...

Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki: A Brief History

Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki is an island of 69,969 people that sits just right within the maritime borders of Izmedu, relatively nearby its namesake city of Mousiki but just far enough that it was able to develop its own unique identity. The island (like most Izmeduan entries) has had quite the tortured history in its small existence. It was an island originally occupied by Izmeduans and was founded as a small, but auxiliary trading port for the city of Mousiki. In its early history, the little island was connected to the larger city of Mousiki, but was eventually independent from it after relations became a little bit frosty. However, you'll notice the name Dreïchibu; the island was colonized by Todlichebujoku after it was decided that the island of Mousiki proved to be rather valuable, causing the island to be injected with Todlichebujoki culture and consequently, a name change too. That certainly wasn't the end though; what role does Kalosia have to play in the city? Well, when civil war broke out in Kalosia, Kalosians fled to the island and consequently, became the majority population in the island. So, you got three nationalities mixed in one little island, what happens there?

Aside from ah, some excitement and a bit of a historical ménage à trois, this little island eventually stabilized itself due to quite the clerical error with one of the leases. The whole ownership situation involved the Izmeduan government leasing the island to Todlichebujoku when it was colonized and turned into the trading post that it still is today. Decolonization happened eventually, but the island became very valuable to Todlichebujoku, so it still remained as a trading post. However, that lease expired to much to the shock of the local government since much of the details of decolonization had conveniently forgotten about that lease. So, what to do? Since it became a valuable trading port for Todlichebujoku, and with the Izmeduan government wanting the least painful option, it was quickly decided that the island was now co-owned by both nations, hence why the name is now Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki. Quite the bond, ain't it? Now, the island happily exists as a jointly owned Izmeduan and Todlichebujoki land, with a vast Kalosian majority existing inside it.

Think of all the potential three ways...

Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki: Things to do, places to go

With the island being the metaphorical triangle of Todlichebujoki, Kalosian, and Izmeduan cultures all mixed in one lovely ménage, there's bound to be something for you to enjoy here. So, we'll pick out one of the defining things about Dreichibu-u-Mousiki, its infamously lit party scene. That's right, step foot into this little island and stay a night, and you'll find there's literally a party happening waiting to happen in the generous array of nightclubs, bars, and even the occasional rave or two. Take a walk down the corner, there's a 33% chance that either a Todlichebujoki, Kalosian, Izmeduan, or anyone inbetween will drag you into some shady nightclub and say, 'you. On the dancefloor. Now.' Unlike the stuffy older sister of Mousiki, the island knows how to actually have fun. Want a place to have fun? Take a look at a picture of one of our nightclubs down below and imagine yourself there.

Image
Doesn't it look beautiful? Pay up, you're gonna need a premium to walk in this nightclub

Want a more 'natural' place to hang out in? Well, check out 'The Great Bulge,' that big pointy rock thing that serves as the cornerstone and center of Dreichibu-u-Mousiki. The bulge is a natural rock formation that does not simply happen to look pointy on purpose, the bonds that create the land simply shaped it to be that way. However, it still fills out quite nicely, doesn't it? Known as La izbočina or Mahtava nustatymaa in Izmeduan and Todlichebujoki Suomi respectively, the great bulge is a fantastic place for visitors to experience the natural pleasures of nature, all the while admiring just how landscapes can form such majestic sculptures of beauty. Fun fact, the bulge is known locally as 'the mighty erection' to Todlichebujokis that live here. Want to know why it's called that? Well, there's one important part to 'the great bulge,' that hasn't been mentioned yet, which will be done so by this footnote.*

*Footnote: 'The Great Bulge' is actually the site of an active volcano that occasionally spurts out lava, so it's not quite as accessible of a hangout place as we make it seem out to be. But, specialized tour guides are available for visitors that want to visit the great bulge and congregate near the base. However, for those who are truly daring and want to see the lava up close in action should request for a specialized tour guide to help accommodate your travel up to the great bulge. However, when you successfully get up to the very top of the great bulge, you will find an excellent example of our theme in action. Look at the lava down below, how it swirls in magma.

Well, that footnote was also unnecessary, because 'the great bulge' itself actually no longer a volcano. It's an urban myth that it actually spurts out lava, but here's the thing. There's some history behind that myth. Did you know that Todlichebujoki thaumaturges once saved the island from literally being burned alive when that volcano was being all active and spurting out lava all over the place. While it didn't happen that often, this obviously caused much panic to the residents at Dreichibu-u-Mousiki. So, what do you do with an island with an active volcano? Well, you need a little bit of Todlichebujoki magic to fix things.

The reason why there was a volcano? There was a demon in there causing all of those nasty eruptions and for 'the great bulge' to keep erupting when it didn't need to. Thus, those Todlichebujoki thaumaturges? After a bit of spell-casting, surveying the scene, and what can be described 'as perhaps the closest Dreichibu-u-Mousiki has ever gotten to being an actual real life movie scene,' that demon was purged, but the urban myth of 'the great bulge' remained.

Image
Look at just how majestic this looks... Don't you just want to take a hike on it?

One of the most attractive things about Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki is also its weather, it's one of the reasons why people want to keep coming around, of course. The island itself is home to a very attractive climate pattern. Want a visit during the summer? Well, we got some good news for you. Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki is home to a hot and humid summer. However, for those worrying about it being too hot, the atmosphere's got you covered. Summer weather is usually generally sunny but there are always those light layers of atmospheric clouds to save the day, just so you won't be roasted by the sun. This means, for those packing light, walking around in scantily clad clothing is very much fine in terms of weather, as you'll never have to fear getting those nasty sunburns. If you need numbers, summer weather ranges from 69 to 96 degrees Fahrenheit, which is rather hot in both regards.

Let's say that WorldVision ended up in the winter or something. Well, not to worry, even we have that covered too! Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki's winter climate is more mild, best suited for cozy and comfortable clothing and activity, dry, and with the occasional thunderstorm to boot to help remind you that you're gonna have a banging time in the island. With those thunderstorms come rain, but unfortunately for those living at the base sea level, you don't get much. However, set your sights on the bulge when it rains though, especially at the higher levels. You do not want to miss that beautiful trickle down that just streams downwards into sea level. Ooh! Doesn't it look just positively titillating!

With this weather, Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki packs a mean punch with its vegetation, and it doesn't disappoint. Remember that trickle down effect I mentioned earlier? Well, you don't get much vegetation on 'the great bulge' because the mountain itself is rather steep. However, when all of the water just gently trickles down on the great bulge, it has to land somewhere, right? There's a lot of fertile bottomlands that surround the great bulge, and when that water lands on there, you know some bonding is happening. What does that bonding and fusion of water and soil lead to? You got some wild forests that pop up out of the ground. Of course, a lot of that results in beautiful flora for you to ogle at, such as flowering ash, strawberry tree, bay laurel... If you're a fun of Mediterranean flora, take a visit.

That's not all that Dreichibu-u-Mousiki has in store for you, but for now, we gotta keep everything on the down low, cause it's time to focus on what makes the show, the show.

The Theme: Bonding Together!

One of the major themes behind this bit is the concept of fusion. Dreïchibu-u-Mousiki is itself a fabulous fusion of three cultures of Todlichebujoki, Kalosian, and Izmeduan cultures. Of course, the whole concept behind our bid is the natural concept of fusing together to create one beautiful entity, and how does one fuse together? Well, you have to bond together in order for that fusion to happen. The happy co-existence of three cultures wasn't just random, it happened with a lot of love inbetween a lot of love of people. You gotta have a ménage à trois before you can dedicate yourself into a true bond. Thus, that's why our theme is fusion. However, that's not the only aspect to our bid as well that's special.

You'll see that the primary motif of our bid revolves around those fantastic drums. Drums are an integral part to any music scene, without the drums, there is no musical backing, no oomph for someone to push through the last minute of any song. They roll along the sound and give the meat to our ears to satisfy your ears. So, not only are we going to emphasize bonding together during the show, but we're also going to emphasize all of those banging drums throughout the show.

IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE IN THE DrUMs!

The Venue

You'll noticed that we haven't introduced the venue with a special picture.... Well, that's because we've already mentioned the venue in the bid itself! The venue for this bid is indeed The Great Bulge (aka the mountain on the first picture of the island that has been shown). We don't quite know yet how many people can be held, but what we can reveal to you that the actual venue itself is a cave that is held deep within The Great Bulge. Mindblowing stuff, eh? If you're worried about safety, it may seem deep, but it's just deep enough where you can truly feel the great forces of bonding and fusion.

When you venture deep within the great bulge, you'll find that the heat and pressure from within are going to be just a touch bit stronger than the outside world. Things may even get a little bit sweaty and you'll certainly be feeling the heat of another person more intensely than you ever would before. However, this is only natural, and it's a good thing you're experiencing this as you traverse the beautiful, modified caverns of The Great Bulge. We want you to get the sense of the power of fusion that is at work at The Great Bulge, whether it's the fact that it's probably going to be very dark when you first come in, or that it'll feel both cramped and wide at the same time. The Great Bulge is the place where you feel the forces of bonding literally push your body, and you will feel the unstoppable power of bonding together.

The Stage
Image
Oh my god... Why does it look so clean!?

Despite being in a dark cave, you're gonna notice that the stage is ungodly clean. Well, that's just a rendering of the stage we're showing you, but look at how clean it looks! This stage, with Todlichebujoki masterminds behind the magic, is a sensitively, softly crafted, and clean stage that looks elegant, stylish, and ready for whatever bangers that you want to inflict on it. The stage contains all of the regular elements you could ever ask for in any particular stage. You want fireworks? Check. You want shower curtains? Check. So rest assured, if you ever pick us, this stage will have everything you ever need, and more, in one tight and secure package.

However, that is certainly not the most defining part of the stage. Do you see those really, really pointy things that uh, literally jut out towards the audience and look quite sharp? They're not diamonds, they are crystals that the Todlichebujoki designers have lovingly put on the stage for your staging needs. Not only can you do some gentle things with those crystal shafts, such as have them change colors, act as screens, what have you. That sounds very blasé, you certainly want more excitement, do you? Well, those crystal shafts can be removed for your dancing needs, heck, you can even ride on them! Oh, let's not forget that they're also rather pleasurable to the touch.

The Postcards
Image
Here's a sample one using a very awesome nation!!!

The postcard consists of the logo modified to fit the national colors of the performing nation and the basic entry information that comes along with it. It's a simple, but effective design that emphasizes the importance of bonding together and most especially, the drums that are integral to our show. The colors of our logo emblazoned with your national colors symbolizes the bonding of your nation to our drums, and during the show, we're gonna pound the drums hard to make sure that we make some beautiful and resonating sounds with them. Even better, with your national colors on the drums, it truly shows that your nation has bonded with us. After the show, you'll truly understand the meaning of fusion ;)

That concludes this special joint host bid from Todlichebujoku, Kalosia, and Izmedu. We hope you'll vote for us ;)

Feeling the hype? Click this for the pre-show playlist of your dreams.

Ok, yes, this is real, this is indeed a joint host bid from me, Kal, and Tobu, though probably not in the way you'd expect hehe. For the committee, since I am the one posting the bid and since the host location is physically nearest to me, you're free to just put in Driechibu-u-Mousiki, Izmedu. However, this is very much indeed a joint bid between us three. Tobu was the idea mastermind and stage creator, Kal did the postcard plus the logo, and I wrote the bid.

Tonight, 9 songs and 9 artists performed in their bid to represent Izmedu in WorldVision 55. Similar to last edition's Izmepisma, 8 international juries voted for this national final and perhaps astoundingly, the points record was indeed broken once again this edition. As such, we are proud to reveal to you that the winner of the 5th edition of Izmepisma is...

Grupa TRI-DIVA - Abas!

With an Izmepisma best of 142 points (59 jury + 83 televote), Grupa TRI-DIVA are now Izmedu's official WorldVision 55 representatives and are also the first girl group to represent the country since Nebaizva in WorldVision 46. Besting VIR's final total by 1 point, they go to WorldVision with the song "Abas!," which roughly translates to an interjection of "Get Down." Grupa TRI-DIVA's "Abas" is the only song to have received points from every international jury, receiving key top points (particularly, three sets of 12, and five juries overall ranking the song in their top threes) in its path to victory. Additionally, "Abas" also posted a historic televote along with the runner-up, Gordan Glavas' "Dignitet," with both songs being the first in Izmepisma history to earn over ~200,000 televotes each and a record-breaking 83 televote points. Thus, massive expectations are now on Grupa TRI-DIVA as they enter immediate rehearsals in preparation for WorldVision 55.

RTI deeply thanks every international jury that voted in Izmepisma.

After the six Candelarian hopefuls performed, the voting system was explained by the host, Angélica Muñoz. 400 points are about to be distributed: 195 coming from the televote (distributed according to the percentages of the televote that go to each song), 10 points from the Candelarian Jury (each of the five juries awards two points, one point for each of its two favorites), and 195 coming from the International Jury (from Besini, Britonisea, Izmedu, Normandy and Picardy and Polkopia). Then televote began: for fifteen minutes, the Candelarian audience was able to vote for their favorites.

The interval act was Sofía Vizcaíno performing her WV54 entry ("Por Siempre"), and Grupa TRI-DIVA from Izmedu, performing their WV55 entry ("Abas!").

After the televote was closed [IC Time: 21:30 (UTC-6), Thursday March 30th], a long ad break of eight minutes was shown. Then, Angélica Muñoz was shown standing in the center of the stage, ready to give out the results. In case of a tie, a second televote round will determine the winner!

19 points go to "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar" (9.7% of the televote)

49 points go to "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" (25.3% of the televote)

-1° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 49 puntos

The crowd was excited at the RNPC Studios, Botón Lila was clearly the nation's favorite. However, 195 points were still left to be decided; so the spokespersons from the five foreign juries were called. With a typical Candelarian English accent (OOC: Like Modern Family's Gloria), Angélica Muñoz asked for the points from the international juries. They would read each of them out loud, but pausing before announcing the 12 points because two songs could get them: and in the end, one would get the twelve, and the other one would be left without points.

3 points go to "Es la Guitarra de Lolo"
6 points go to "El Jardín"

:NiÉl & NiElla cannot believe they got another set of twelve points:

-1° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 62 puntos
2° Pacho, Julio y Mister Brown - "No Puedo Morir" - 53 puntos
3° Carolina Ramírez - "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" - 51 puntos
4° NiÉl, NiElla - "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar" - 43 puntos

:in a split screen we are able to see the Orquesta de Jose Mario Anzoátegui and NiÉl & NiElla:
12 points go to "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar"
:The Orquesta looks disappointed but they congratulate NiÉl & NiElla:

-1° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 68 puntos
2° Carolina Ramírez - "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" - 59 puntos

:in a split screen we are able to see Botón Lila and NiÉl & NiElla:
:the crowd is clearly rooting for Botón Lila:
12 points go to "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar"
:a loud booing is heard, the lead vocalist of Botón Lila goes to hug NiElla who looks rather sad at the public's reaction:
:NiÉl bows to the camera saying 'Hvala Izmedu':

-1° Carolina Ramírez - "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" - 69 puntos
2° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 68 puntos
3° NiÉl, NiElla - "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar" - 67 puntos
4° Pacho, Julio y Mister Brown - "No Puedo Morir" - 64 puntos
5° Marcapasos - "El Jardín" - 48 puntos
6° Orquesta de Jose Mario Anzoátegui - "Llamada de Medianoche" - 45 puntos

In order to distract the attention from the public's reaction to these twelve points, Angélica was instructed to go to the green room and interview Carolina Ramírez, the current leader of the scoreboard. After a quick interview in which Carolina thanked everyone for her points (she was 3rd in the televote, the favorite of the Candelarian jury, and so far the 3rd for the international jury), Angélica went back to the stage, asking for respect for the upcoming results. She reminded everyone that these were the last points to be given out, so there'd be a dramatic pause before announcing the 12 points from Polkopia...

3 points go to "El Jardín"
6 points go to "No Puedo Morir"
8 points go to "Llamada de Medianoche"
:the crowd applauds the second set of international points for the Orquesta:
10 points go to "¿Y Cómo el Amor?"
:the crowd is completely silent.... shocked by the current scoreboard:
:in the green room, everyone is doing the math, there is no apparent winner yet:

-1° Carolina Ramírez - "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" - 79 puntos
2° Pacho, Julio y Mister Brown - "No Puedo Morir" - 70 puntos
3° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 68 puntos
4° NiÉl, NiElla - "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar" - 67 puntos
5° Orquesta de Jose Mario Anzoátegui - "Llamada de Medianoche" - 53 puntos
6° Marcapasos - "El Jardín" - 51 puntos

Angélica explained "okay, ladies and gentlemen, right now only 12 points are left to be awarded to one of two acts: Botón Lila and NiÉl, NiElla. If they are awarded to the former, Botón Lila will be our entrants for WorldVision 55. Whereas, if they are awarded to NiÉl, NiElla, we would have a two-way tie at 79 points, in which case we would have to move on to a second voting round where just the televote will decide. This is the best time to tell you too, that the runner-up of Jóvenes Talentos will be an act in Jóvenes Talentos 2, for WorldVision 56. Are you ready?"

:the split screen shows the three possible winners: Carolina Ramírez, Botón Lila & NiÉl, NiElla:
12 points go to..... NiÉl, NiElla!
:NiÉl, NiElla jump around euphorically:
:Botón Lila hug NiElla and shake hands with NiÉl, accepting defeat:
:Carolina Ramírez looks confused, she is chatting with the people around her about what's next:
:the crowd start booing again, and a sizable bloc of people exit the studio shouting "Fiasco! Fiasco!":

-1° Carolina Ramírez - "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" - 79 puntos
1° NiÉl, NiElla - "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar" - 79 puntos
3° Pacho, Julio y Mister Brown - "No Puedo Morir" - 70 puntos
4° Botón Lila - "Es la Guitarra de Lolo" - 68 puntos
5° Orquesta de Jose Mario Anzoátegui - "Llamada de Medianoche" - 53 puntos
6° Marcapasos - "El Jardín" - 51 puntos

Angélica Muñoz tries to calm down the audience, but there are several awkward seconds in which the sound of the crowd is louder than Angélica's voice. When she is finally able to speak, she says "okay people, these are the results so far and we still have no winning song. It's time for a second round of voting after the two acts that still stand in the race perform again. Let's go first to a commercial break". The commercial break begins, and even though on TV the tension's gone, in the studio, security has been called to protect the stage and calm down some angry Candelarians who just saw the televote's favorite be eliminated. Twitter is ON FIRE as all the fans wonder who will win in the end, and whether they should trust the International Juries or the local music market.

The Candelarian entry can either be "¿Y Cómo El Amor?" or "Hay Cosas En La Vida Que No Se Pueden Cambiar".
