Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Spring is near and as such, the time for the Spring Festivals is coming up, too – we, that means the Selkie, celebrate a festival known as Grian an Earraigh, roughly translating to 'The Spring Sun', celebrating the equinox and, with it, the beginning of spring, the time of blooming, seeding, renewal and rebirth.
Traditionally, it's also seen as the collective birthday celebration of the Selkie, as we count our age by the springs we had seen – I, for example, am of vintage 1962, turning 55 Springs on that day. That, however, is another matter.
As it is, I happen to host a Spring Festival with several friends of mine, combining it with the celebrations of the Greyfox Cup, a competition of Marcach, and with a fundraiser for the Cabhair Group, who collect money for the education of children in warzones – as children in these areas are the future of these areas and this future must be nourished. Half of the proceeds of that day from all shops and peddlers will be donated to the Cabhair Group's funds.
This Spring Festival happens on the 20th of March 2017 in the City of Cuan at the southern edge of the Mór Land.
In the appendix, you will find travelling information to Cuan, information about the city and the inns in the city, the visa application (including the address to send them to, don't be frightened by the form) and the timetable, including the tournament plan for the Greyfox Cup.

Cuan is a small city, approximately six thousand people living there. The city is where the Mór-River and the Cuas-River meet to form the Imeall-River.
As a premier location as a harbour for all the rivermen coming down from Ferrydock or Lake Mór, or going up there from the Great Sea, the town enjoys a certain wealth, coming in major parts from its harbour, which is in use to today, with wooden barges and some of steel. Bád Industries Limited has its main facilities and headquarters in Cuan, which makes the city a bit famous in some circles.
Cuan is also famous for its archers and the High Bridges, seven large bridges spanning the three rivers along major streets, hence its reputation as one of the strategically most important cities in the Free Lands. Fought over several times in the past, Cuan knew many different lords and ladies, while the earliest settlements were dated back to 7,500 B.C. by archaeologists. Current Lord, or rather mayor, is Finnegan Méara of the Tribe of Louth.
Tourist hotspots are Láir Square, a square of roughly four hectare in the centre of the city, with the Lodan Lir Temple of Cuan and the accompanying school, the Historic City Hall and the Ropaire Inn, one of the most renown inns in the Free Lands. Thanks to a grassy centre, where on market day livestock is traded, the Láir Square is usable as a tournament field and was used as such before (and most likely will be used as such in the future).
Another tourist hotspot is the Old City Wall and the three Bastions, which secured the city from attacks from the north, although the Bastions were converted to museums nowadays, displaying a varying amount of topics. One of the most visited permanent exhibitions is about the Crusade of 1299, which was stopped at the Battle of Cuan in 1300, originals from back then are on display.
The Old University is another tourist hotspot, especially with the Old Library.
Several other smaller tourist hotspots exist as well.
Most of the roads are cobbled, but several side-roads and courtyards have wooden paving. Besides the harbour and several highways leading to and from the city, there is also a small regional airport, including one for floatplanes, which can easily be accessed.
Cuan has a relatively large regional hospital, a major police station and is garrison town of the I. Squadron, 5th Dragan-Regiment.

Getting there
There are several major options of how to get to Cuan:

The easiest one would be to travel to Silverport International Airport and take either a small hopper from there to the Cuan Regional Airport or a train from Silverport Main to Cuan Main.
The most scenic would either be said train or the ferry from Silverport to Wembury and taking another one from along the coast to Béal, where the Imeall-River meets the sea. From there, another ferry to Cuan.
Another option would be from Silverport International to Fortham Regional Airport and the river-ferry down the Mór-River and to Cuan.
If you have the time and the spirit of adventure in you, you could also land in Silverport and make the trip to Cuan along the Feadhain Road, the old road connecting the cities of Olann, Cuan, Coill, Creetown, Bodmin and with it Lake Iasc, to which a ferry is always coming. That can be done either by foot, horse or cart.
If you book a flight to Traverse International, you'll have to take a small hopper to Cuan directly.
Of course, those are only the most easiest options and most fun ways to come to Cuan, the possibilities in and of itself are nearly limitless.

Inns
The Ropaire Inn is, sadly, already completely booked, but their garden and courtyard would be happy to cater to you. Their food is worth it.
The Ceol Inn, one of the oldest inns in Cuan, is an old and venerable house – very good food, very good beds, nice staff and a spot in the city centre, at the Ceol Square. From the front-rooms, you have a perfect view onto the Main Music Stages and the dancefloor. That comes at a high price.
The Striapach Inn, one of the most wretched hives of scum and villainy in the Mór Land, catering to the less reputable, but still decent and legal audience in the City. It is cheap, but don't expect anything too lavish. To many kinds of foreigners, the staff will be professional, but not breaking a leg with friendliness, more likely being a bit gruff. The food's good, though, they say.
The Laoch Inn, one of the regular haunts of the local SDF-Garrison, is a good and decent house, with a good band and good brews, as well as good food. The beds aren't too comfortable, though.
The Ceannaí Inn is the inn, that might as well be a museum, as inn remembers the time of Cuan, where it was not a hub and junction of trade on the Mainland, but the hub and junction on the Mainland. It regularly housed more wealthy merchants on their stays in the City, which shows much in the building itself, lavishly decorated and with only the finest and softest of beds. It is very expensive and has a good, professional staff with exceptional food.
The Sruth Inn is a small inn down by the river's harbour, usually used by the rivermen, when they need some rest after long days. Decent food, but very good beds, it caters also to the more active tourists, who eat outside.
The Longchlós Inn is an inn by the facilities of Bád Industries, regular haunt of their workers and more frequent guests. Overall good, it offers its services at decent prices. It is the newest amongst the inns in Cuan with state of the art facilities and is still build of timber.

Welcome to another Spring Festival hosted by me, a chance to meet ordinary people from other countries in the setting of a Spring Festival of the Selkie. This is the OOC, the IC will be up on the 20th of March (hopefully, no promises).
Please keep in mind, that this is not a diplomatic event. Instead, you will play an ordinary person, or several ordinary persons, depending on your liking, who visits the festival, has fun (hopefully), meets people, maybe even has a little adventure along the way (I have a few little somethings planned...), but sadly, due to past experiences, the Tournament will be Selkie Only. However, if you want to have a stall or want to give your musicians a spin, I'd be happy to hear your ideas. Your options for the enjoyment of this festival and RP are nearly limitless.
The RP itself will start on the 20th of March (hopefully) and will always be open for new/late arrivals.

A maximum of one bodyguard per person is permitted, but please keep it reasonable. If you wish for more, then say so in the notes-section and I know to provide you with a bodyguard of the SDF.

The maximum number of characters is only limited by yourself, but please nothing to excessive.

About the application:

I'm going to stretch the part about the “valid passport photo” far beyond the ones accepted by the offices, you just need to supply a picture of your character (be it a photo, a picture, anime-artwork works, too). However, please keep it within 350x350 px maximum or hotlink to it in a sensible way.
Please answer the question about having read and understood the rules with “Noperoni, Pepperoni!” (as awkward as it seems). No exceptions. This phrase may change in the future, though.
