Welcome to the annual elections for the Grand Council of Blorbs! This vote will last for 48 hours, any votes cast afterwards will not be counted. Within the month following this poll, the Grand Chairman will also be voted on.
In case you may not be fully aware, the Grand Council is the unitary upper level house in Blorbs. It creates bills which are then voted into law by the population, and also handles military matters and all other things that the upper levels of a nation's government deals with.
Candidates:
NOTE: The terms Right/Left as used here are referring to capitalist and socialist schools of thought, though pertaining solely to economy, and Libertarian/Authoritarian referring solely to personal rights and freedoms.
Klag-Nzag - Center-Left Libertarian
Klag-Nzag is a party that was created in order to unify the many independent councilors who valued as many personal freedoms as possible while also being much more moderate as far as economic beleifs. Thus far they have maintained themselves as the second largest party in Blorbs since almost their first years, and are a very popular choice of the more moderate Blorbians.
Lilgin - Left Libertarian
Lilgin is the oldest living party in Blorbs, first founded in the 1902 peaceful revolution and installed with 100% of the seats for the first year of the Grand Council until the first election was to be held. They have proven themselves as great leaders of Blorbs and maintain status of largest party in all of Blorbs. The majority of Blorbs' current policy comes from this party as it is seen as the best choice by most of Blorbs' citizens. They maintain strong striving for personal freedoms but also beleive that a socialist economy is best for keeping all members of society equal, happy, healthy and wealthy.
KPY - Far-Left Authoritarian
KPY has for a long time been viewed as a controversial choice, however in recent years it has been gaining traction by conservatives and hard communists alike. Recent claims that people are 'too free' have led to this party keeping civil freedoms at a more moderate, perhaps more sensible level, whilst also hardening in a stronger socialist economy.
Kilznya - Center-Right Authoritarian
Kilznya is usually considered the Orbs party, as it is based strongly on the economy and laws of Blorbs' long time cold war rival, Orbs. Despite common hatred, this party has had a small amount of success in gaining some seats, and wishes to convert the economy entirely capitalist and sooth international relations. They are also strongly conservative and wish for a more moralistic society.
LNNB - Right Libertarian
Called by some as the only 'true libertarians', this party is wishing for the deregulation of near everything, whether that be personal or economic law, they wish for a strong, right libertarian society with a small government and little involvement from the government in its people and economy, in order to maintain a true freedom they claim is unavailable anywhere else. The newest party to have gained any attention, it seems to be growing fast but faces large opposition.
Ballot!
To fill out your ballot, simply put all of the parties in a numbered list ordered from most preferential to least preferential. If you would like to vote for an independent counciler, you may also list that and their ideology. If you would only like to vote for some of the parties, and beyond that have no preference, you are allowed to. You must vote for at least one party.
Due to nationstates not accurately representing Blorbs' voter demographic, the parties will receive a vote multiplier in order to more accurately represent Blorbs:
Lilgin, KPY and Klag-Nzag will have a 1x multiplier
Kilznya, LNNB and all independent votes will have a 0.5x multiplier
