Friday 21 September 2080 | Coti-Chiavari, Kalliste, Derita
The island of Kalliste saw the Duke of Alençon arrive via his family’s personal yacht, which he famously was noted for being an excellent captain of during the annual Royal Yacht Race in Port Victoria yesterday. Onboard the yacht was the Duke of Alençon, the Prince of Wied, the Queen and King of Scots, the Duke and Duchess of Mantova, Prince Philippe of Selesburge and Lady Nikolina Marchant. The trip to the paradise like island was made impromptu following Prince Adrian’s sudden return to Derita in Vierrgues where Alexandre was having a photo shoot with the soldiers there the day before. The group quickly, at the Duke of Alençon’s suggestion sailed west to the island.
Upon arriving at the seaside town of Coti-Chiavari, the group were see whilst aboard the yacht, with many taking notice of the famous ship of the Imperial Family and several tourists catching sight of the Duke of Alençon. Following his spectacular and much praised success at the Battle of Hai Bai, his campaign through Seidang during the Seidanese War, where he slew the villainous and tyrannical President Hoàng Minh Chiến who had foolishly tried to oppose the righteous Celestial Empire and the rightful monarch of that nation, Emperor Liang I of Seidang, Alençon has become the face of the Celestial Empire, receiving titles and nicknames such as Mnyama Ipanther and the Celestial Guardian. Alençon in less than a year has become the most photographed member of the Imperial Family, outpacing even his grandfather the King-Emperor.

With this in mind, it was not a surprise that following their arrival at Coti-Chiavari on Kalliste that Alençon was quickly recognized, with several young women and men guarding the yacht in hopes of having him sign one of the many posters, pins and shirts that his face adorns. The Duke of Alençon, in his ever kind personality happily agreed to sign several items, including a person’s forehead and agreeing to take pictures and selfies with several people. One observer that was able to restrain themselves following taking a picture with the Duke, noticed that nearby was also the Queen and King of Scots and famous boxer Don Carlos and his wife the former Wueen of Zidaria, who went relatively unnoticed.
Following this promptu meet and greet, which had to be broken up due to local police concerns that the pier would collapse from the unprecedented amount of people who had come out to see the Duke of Alençon, which for this he apologized, the group went onto a tour of the city. The group of royals, instead of guards, which they definitely don’t need with both Alençon and the Duchess of Mantova or cars, simply walked through the city almost as if they were normal people. Here people briefly noticed Alençon and the Prince of Wied holding hands as they went down the main road. The group first visited the Fortress of Lacapneru which sits several hundred feet above the sea and acted as watchguard for the border hundreds of years earlier. The tower was built in around 1600 under the waning reign of Alexandre I of Derita. It was one of a series of coastal defences constructed by the Celestial Empire between 1530 and 1620 to stem the attacks by barbaric pirates from the east.
The Duke of Alençon and the Prince of Wied then, following their leaving of the Fortress of Lacapneru went to several of the local boutiques that dot the beautiful little town of Coti-Chiavari along with the Queen and King of Scots. Meanwhile the Duke and Duchess of Mantova and Prince Philippe and Lady Marchant decided to go on a hike through the picturesque forests of Coti-Chiavari and visiting two more towers, fortress that were built alongside Lacapneru, climbing to the top of Areuon Tower and Enïase Tower. At the boutiques, the Prince of Wied buying and then wearing a t-shirt that displayed a map of the island of Kalliste while King Consort André notably bought a book of songs from the natives of the island. The Duke of Alençon then bought a plush dolphin, giving it to Prince of Wied. When a passerby dared raised an eyebrow at this, Alençon proceeded to try and buy several more such gifts, which the King Consort the Prince of Wied had to physically pull him out of the store least the shop owner be left with nothing in the store.
Prince Alexandre, Duke of Alençon
Alençon and Wied were thirty minutes later photographed by a passerby with Alençon with his arm around Wied and Wied holding the plush dolphin. The royals then meet up at the Jean-Astante Fountain at the Roi Place in the center of the town, which proudly displays a statue of its name sake. Here they twitched couples and Alençon, Wied and the Mantovas went hunting. Do to the nature of the island of Kalliste, the Duke of Alençon was notably disappointed with the limited animals there to hunt, but eventually settled on going on a wild boar hunt, which are native to the island and notoriously dangerous. The Duke of Alençon and Duchess of Mantova however were able to corner and successful kill a 190 pound make wild boar. The two were then pictures with the animal before they skinned it and had its meat sent to be prepared and given out.
Whilst they went boar hunting the others went to a wine tasting event where they tried and greatly admired the taste of the famous Kalliste Cocktail, served by the famously beautiful Kalliot Sirens, the intentionally well breed group of women who are descendants of the ancient natives of the island, trained in sing their their secretive old native songs. They then meet up with the others once again at the fountain, where here more fans of the Duke of Alençon waiting for them to get a chance to meet him. Alençon again happily gave in to the wants of the people, this time luckily the local police did not have to break up the crowd. Alençon did towards the end ask a young woman of the name of Zoé C. To take a picture of him and Wied in front of the fountain.
That night, the Duke of Alençon was invited by Amaury Piaget, owner of the local restaurant and had served during the Seidanese War, to eat at his restaurant free of charge along with the others. To this the Queen and King of Scots refused, instead offering to pay for their and everyone else dining there that night. The group originally were going to eat together but instead decided to have their meals separately with the two married couples eating together and the others eating with their partners, with Prince Philippe and Lady Marchant eating together and The Duke of Alençon and the Prince of Wied eating together. At the orders of Lt. Piaget certain people were made to leave and kept away from the windows in order to allow for his customers to enjoy some privacy, cameras not allowed in the restaurant for that night’s duration. Following this outing the eight royals returned to the yacht were they spent the night.
Prince Adrian of Wied and Atmora
This morning many residents of Coti-Chiavari were not too surprised to find people flying overhead, with hand gliding being a popular activity for the tourists to come to the island of Kalliste. They might have been shocked however to find that as the sun rose of the island of paradise island, the Duke of Alençon, Prince of Wied, Prince Philippe and Lady Marchant zipping over head. Alençon’s was easy to pick out as he flew across the island and its forests and beaches in a glider that was pitch black with a massive panther design on it. The four went almost perfectly in their flight, save when Prince Philippe had a mild malfunction and had to make an emergency landing in the water.
After the rest of them safely landed and Philippe swam back to shore, they decided to go to the beach, joining the others at the beach, where they mingled freely with other visitors on the beach. The Queen and King of Scots and the Duke and Duchess of Mantova had while the others were hang gliding gone to another local restaurant for breakfast, enjoying classic Hollande tea and coffee despite the tropic heat in classic regal fashion. Following this they decided to go visit the nature part on the other side of the island, where Queen Adelaide II and Duchess Frederica swam with the dolphins and the Duke of Normandy and Duke of Mantova went snorkeling, taking pictures of their adventures here. They then later left and went to beach to reunite with the others.
Here the royals posted several pictures of themselves enjoying the sun and the sand. When someone watching the Duke of Alençon taking a picture of the Prince of Wied while he lay on the sand noticed something shining on his finger and another on the Dutch-Atmoran prince’s , they braved themselves and walked over, before quiet asking what the rings meant. Prince Adrian began to explain the rings bashfully, his silver while Prince Alexandre’s was gold, until the Duke of Alençon wrapped his arm around him and plainly stated that they were engagement rings.
Queen Adelaide II and King Consort André of Scots
The Duke of Alençon didn’t seem to wish to give any further explanation, appearing proud in shutting them up and proud in the statement and soon shooed the passerby away before they could ask further questions. Naturally the story of their engagement has shot out, spreading across the island like wildfires and then leaping from the island of Kalliste onto the main land and burning across the Celestial Empire. This spread across social media as questions and theories. Finally, roughly a hour or so after this revelation, an announcement went out from the account of the Duke of Alençon saying, in classic Alençon bluntness and casual manner, “Getting Married. En passant.”
The announcement of the engagement only further sent people for a twist at the surprise. The most fevernt fans have shown overwhelming support towards the engagement, coining the name of Alexrian as a word for referencing the two as a couple. Meanwhile others have taken to pondering if this should be taken seriously, as the Duke of Alençon has made a reputation of answering saracastically and playing pranks on people before, though it is noted never on something like this. And a third set have taken a more silent approach, perhaps because of conservative values of either nationalism, or something else. Fontainebleau has yet to respond to the breaking story, with Crown Princess Marié Thérèsa being unable to commit on the matter due to an engagement with Princess Hélèna. Alexandria, where Adrian’s aunt Katherine II reigns over Atmora, too has yet to commit on the engagement as well.
Regardless of what may later be reported from Fontainebleau or Alexandria, it does seem that Alexandre and Adrian are indeed together and likely have been together for months quietly under all of our noses. There are of course many questions about the couple, such as if the marriage will be a political one between Derita and Atmora, what titles the two would have, and others, though the Duke of Alençon’s brother, the King Consort of Scotland has made it clear that he has no desire to see the press mob his brother and his friend over the issue. If they are happy, then this reporter says that hopefully there will be a big beautiful wedding in the near future.
