"Diplomacy through Unity"
The International State Parliament was founded to give an equilateral voice to nations far and wide looking to make a difference in the global community. Centered around economic, social, and diplomatic policy; the ISP is governed by a Central Parliament made up of one Delegate Member from each nation who chooses to join this body. Overseen by a five member Board of Governors elected from the Central Parliament, and led by a popularly elected Secretary-General, the International State Parliament looks to stand as a pillar of cooperation, civility, and productivity for all nation's wishing to espouse these same noble principles.
Economic Policy
The ISP encourages all Member Nations to adopt the Parliament's free trade policy, in order to simultaneously boost Member economies and improve lives. The Parliament also provides the option for Member Nations to adopt a secondary currency sponsored and insured by the International Parliamentary Bank. This currency, which is provided in addition to, and not instead of, a Member's domestic currency, is transferable and exchangeable in all currencies and assets publicly available.
Domestic Policy
The Parliament believes in the applicability of jurisdictional sovereignty, and thus applies this to all of its policy. Nowhere is this more relevant than in the case of Domestic Policy. Covering many areas nation's hold dear, our domestic legislation is optional, and carries with it benefits for those who choose to adopt it like; decreases in membership dues, preferential lending, and more. Created in an aim to improve the lives of those that call our Member Nations home, our Domestic Policy is a corner stone of our organization.
The Board of Governors
The Parliament's Board of Governors is appointed by the Secretary-General of the organization and is confirmed via majority vote of the Central Parliament. The Board, which consists of five members, oversee the various executive aspects of the organization. Members of the Board, and the Secretary General, serve for two months (two terms). All members are eligible for reappointment by succeeding administrations; the Secretary General however, must run for re-election should they wish to reclaim their seat.
Member Nations
Member Nations are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications are publicly available and may be found below the roster provided for here. Member Nations are automatically granted a place in the Central Parliament, are eligible to serve in leadership positions within the body (i.e President of the Assembly, Majority Whip, Minority Whip, Secretary of the Parliament, etc.), can be nominated by a sitting Secretary-General to become a Board Governor, and may run for Secretary-General themselves. Please note that applications for membership may only be processed and accepted by the Secretary-General or the Board Governor for Internal Affairs.
The International Parliamentary Bank
The International Parliamentary Bank (IPB) serves as an exclusive lender, financier, and guardian of Members, their governments, government-sponsored private sector initiatives, and stored currencies. Overseen by the Board Governor for the I.P.B, the institution is made solvent by Member donations, investments, and dues and is not authorized to invest on behalf of the Parliament or the bank's clients unless specifically authorized by that client to do so. The total net liquidity of the bank is used to finance the Parliament's initiatives. The total liquidity of the bank versus the current needed liquidity based on Parliament spending is listed below at all times, and is adjusted as new budgets are made. Budgets are created by the Board Governor for the I.P.B on a monthly basis via input from the President of the Assembly on the needs of the Central Parliament. Commendments and Condemnations
Nations which are in violation of the core principles of the Parliament, have perpetrated egregious acts on Member Nations, or have otherwise shown themselves to be poor members of the International Community, may be subject to condemnation by this body. Condemnations are issued only by a majority vote of the Central Parliament, and do not require the signature of the Secretary General. Condemnations require that all Member Nations cease trade and diplomatic associations with the nation in question. Member Nations found in violation of this, are subject to expulsion via majority vote of the Parliament, and condemnation themselves. Nominees for the sanction may be submitted by any Member on the Floor of the Parliament.
Nations which have exemplified incredible progress, aide, stewardship, or otherwise have shown themselves to be pillars of leadership and governance, may be subject to Commendation by this body. Commendations are issued only by a majority vote of the Board of Governors and require a majority vote of the Central Parliament to confirm.
