This thread is an out-of-character hub for the discussion of TWI-related roleplays, ideas, backstories, and etc. Essentially, this is a "looking for game" except in an RP sense, where people can advertise an RP idea they have, gather interest, and then from there go off and make a separate thread or group telegram. This is also an area to introduce your nation if you're a new player and convey your nation's goals or ambitions.

Examples:

"I'm looking to create a massive imperialistic empire and want to know if anyone wants to join it to create a massive power bloc..."

"I'm new and really interested in making trade relations with a bunch of countries. Here are a few of my main exports..."

"I want to start a RP about a sea boundary dispute and have it escalate into a war..."

"I'm looking to set up foreign military bases. Any takers?..."

An in-character thread based in the I.D. can be found here.

Hello.

1. I've been looking for an enemy for a long time now, especially in my area of the map. I've planned on making Eutriston my enemy but he wanted to by friendly, and the same is true for Noronica. My current arch-enemy is New Aapelistan, but up to now we've only had a chance to operate against each other using proxies (he supported communist insurgencies in various nations and I supported the opposite side). It's very realistic and fits today's type of war, but I'm looking for something more intense.

2. I want my Minister of Defense to become an informant of an enemy intelligence agency. I want to RP this being a major failure of my intelligence community, which would result in the disclosure of many classified secrets of Ostehaar. For this, as mentioned, I need an enemy nation in the region. I asked New Aapelistan to do this, but he's not active enough recently.

I have a plan right now for the development of a large Empire/Power Bloc that will be the central driving force for some region-wide storylines. I expect the empire to eventually collapse, but that will depend on the storyline. I need members for it.

It will be organized as the Grand Atnaian Imperial Republic, or GAIR. States in the GAIR will be allowed to retain their central governments and a level of independence in local legislation, within the confines of what is legislated upon empire-wide, and rescinding their rights to foreign policy, which will be handled handled as a block. The member states would also be allowed to retain a certain amount of military indepedence for home defense, but the majority of the militaries will be banded together.

Nations in the GAIR will be organized centrally around the Imperial Senate. Each member state will have a certain number of senators (which can be elected or appointed locally, how you choose them is up to your nation), based on their population (I think 1 senator to 1 million population, or something similar). The Senate will automatically be headed by the Hegemon of Atnaia as supreme executive. The Senate will pass legislation affecting the entirety of the empire, such as trade accords and generalized civil stuff. The Hegemon will also nominate local governors for each member state to ensure their local governments abide by the Senate's legislation (and to quell dissent...)

So...any takers for what should be a big storyline with lots of wars, rebellions, politification...

I'll bite. In fact this is great worldbuilding material for me personally and it gets over some humps of filling in the blanks for Meshika.

I was thinking of adapting Meshika to japan's meiji restoration. Perhaps Meshika is somewhat modernized but still retains old systems of governance and has also isolated itself. The only source of foreign trade it would have is the canal, which would be heavily regulated by it's league. Meshika would essentially be a mix of old pre-modern technology and many people still living in an ancient sense. The country would be disorganized and there would be no concept of nation-state as it has been rejected.

Perhaps Atnaia, seeing the fortune in Meshika, forces it to open through whatever means for better accessibility to the canals. Ultimately, Meshika would be in the Empire and but also undergo foreign influence and modernization by the hands of Atnaia.

This all sounds great. How would you want to go about doing this functionally? Invasion? Willing annexation?

So, I am new to the region and therefore still gotta decide on map placement and several other things yet in essence this sounds good.

I was thinking the following, I hope it fits in what you're thinking. Soon I'll have a thread about the death of my emperor, resulting in a succession crisis which might grow out to become a civil war. When reading this I was thinking one of the claimants would be willing to make the nation a GAIR protectorate/member state in return for the throne. A war RP/coup RP would then decide whether he'd be succesful.

by Salish Peninsula
Hello and greetings. I plan to try and create a environmental and spiritual Utopia focusing on civil and political rights. To protect the planet and region from pollution and over industrialization.

The Salish Peninsula shall remain completely independent with its own policies however will seek council with other nations within the region.

I also wish to be open to interactions from other nations practically unrestricted however within reason to make diplomacy more interesting.

Facts About Salish Peninsula:

Industry/Exports: The Largest industry in the Salish Peninsula is it's tourism industry due to having a stunning environment being in the top 9% for weather across the world and top 15% in environmental beauty. The next largest industry is gambling. However the top two industries for export is the Fishing industry followed by furniture restoration.

Government: The Government is not lead by a single body but by a council of the most respected spiritual leaders charged with guiding the nation to a beautiful and prosperous future whilst still protecting the environment.

Culture: The Culture of the Salish Peninsula is very diverse however all citizens are pushed to repsect the environment due to their very deep belief that they are one with the earth. "We are as leaves to a tree, One being with earth" as is their motto. Everyone is also very tolerant of each others beliefs and the only time people resort to non-lethal violence is to protect themselves, never for personal gain.

Religion: Every citizen has their own brand of religion, like Buddhism it is more about self reflection and trying to find the right and noble path in the world. No two citizens beliefs are the same however they do share a Buddhist train of thought when it comes to religion. Every day Village Elders and the Council lead the nation in prayer and throughout the day people are encouraged to find spiritual enlightenment.

Hi, I was previously part of the Isles before my nation ceased to exist. Xerxa tends to be pretty isolationist, but it knows that to thrive, it'll need help. Xerxa wants to form alliances in order to acquire certain goods and services and its most important alliance will be to have a nation lend them a part of its miliarary, for Xerxa does not wish for its own citizens to have to fight.

Hello all. I'm posting to see if 3-4 nations would be interested in doing an low-intensity RP with Bhumidol. This RP would be a good fit for you and your nation if:

1) You don't have a lot of time and you'd like an RP that require little time, but has a huge regional impact
2) Your nation does/likely does trade with Bhumidol
3) Your nation is democracy with press freedoms
4) Not a requirement, but it would be a plus if your nation is also culturally different from Bhumidol

The Basic Plotline

Human trafficking is starting to become a major problem in Bhumidol, and with the recent unrest in Bhikkustan, Xrevaro, and New Oranistan, it is reaching a tipping point where international media has started to take notice. As international reporters point their cameras to mass graves, red rooms, brothels, and slave auctions taking place in the nation, countries around TWI move to politically condemn Bhumidol, and sanction key leaders of the National Peace & Progress Party and National Buddhist Sangha of Bhumidol.

Over a period of a month (maybe a little longer) a lengthy probe by the Supreme Court unearths sinister ties to the criminal underworld, and shadowy remenants from the recent, fascist past. Fearing financialy loss and lengthy prison sentences, the Bodhai Administration folds, and the elections that follow bring the liberal, Green Party of Bhumidol to power, with their astute and pragmatic MP, Rokhani Yagharu, as the new head of the nation.

What your Nation Has to Do
It's quite simple on your end. I need one nation to make the initial news post. I will give this nation most of the content needed for the post. I will need this aforementioned nation to then politically condemn my nation. I'll need the other two nations to follow suit and condemn my country's government. Following these condemnations, my government will deny the allegations of human rights abuses, soon after which the first nation will post more grit against my nation's human trafficking crisis. That's when I want all three of the nations to place sanctions on high ranking members of my government and clergy.

That's the minimum that I require from the three participating nations. You're free to flourish the RP more if you wish (e.g. protests at Bhumidol's embassy in your country).

Don't worry about forgetting to do something. I'll (gentley) prod you along the way if needed :)

Result for Bhumidol
After the NPPP is kicked out of power, Dr. Yagharu's Green Party will be instituting deep and vastly needed reforms for the country. The political system will be "Westernized" to make it more transparent to the outside world, the nation will officially end its policy of "State Buddhism" and extend freedom of religious worship and identification to minorities, and political freedoms of dissent and protest will become more stringently protected by reconstituting the role of the judicial branch of government.

Additionally, Bhumidol will be opening its doors to foreign immigration, become more active in regional politics, and reposition itself to defend its domestic sphere, and satisfy its relatively quaint regional ambitions.

Result for your Nation
Nations that participate in this RP will have the opportunity to establish friendlier relations with the incoming government, which is more dedicated to human rights, and regional peace than its predecessor. This includes nations that are currently hostile to Bhumidol and vice versa.

Polar and Ostehaar: I will also send the two of you some news articles to cover as well

Even though a lot of people are showing interest in this RP, I think I'm going to cap it up to the two of you.

Anyone else still interested can still react to the news posts and react politically to the news. Unfortunately thought, my time budget is not large enough for me to write up enough news material for more than the 5 of you!

Well hello, i'm new to the region too, still asking for a place on the map and trying to be more involved in the NS and even worse: i've never played any RPs... but i think this one is interesting. May i join you? Of course if it's inconvenient then just say no and i'll be a happy audience :D
But if you let me join in, i'd like to take small steps, maybe my emperor wants to ally with other empires or nations so that when he dies (which will soon be), he can guarantee his heir (not the heir's siblings...) may have the support of outsiders to inherit the throne...

Oh... after i read Zogkra's plan again, i realize mine is the same... but it would be very fun, i think...

I am currently looking for a nation with a dominant religion (aka Christianity or Islam preferred but others work as well) that has a history of (and still) persecuting minority religions (even if they have laws against that). I want SHOCK (an IS-style international terrorist organization except they are Nepali/Mongol/Turkic instead of predominately Sunni Muslims) to expand their claims of liberating "oppressed minorities".

They have plenty of elders (as in commanders) and strategists. One such strategist (dunno what to call them) will be an Aprosian-in-exile Chatrov originally from New Aapelistan and was until some time ago a citizen of Noronica's (annexed) Arvan. So an attack on a major religious place would be something Chatrov could have masterminded.
