You can use inspiration from all of the above. Thus a similar nation. But you cant say that your current PM or pres is the same as theirs or use names or refer to events happening in Japan now or in the recent history (generally seems that the acceptable cut off of mentioning events is 1992-1998)

Basically, you can pull from whatever source you want, but copy paste is not good.

Brief HIstory of your Country:

Zugakhan had founded the Kingdom of Xidomao in 1721, modelling its new government after other personal monarchies. Alaqakhanakbu had risen to power after a coup d'etat against Zugakhan III. As the forces in Nogorakabarineka started to collapse, the Xidomao Shahi dynasty began to see it's influence across the highlands begin to detiorate, while the Kaurava dynasty (a branch of the Shahi) launched a coup with the intent of modernizing Xidomao and expanding its borders. In 1856 the Shahis were overthrown. In 1857 - 8, in the outbreak of the Sepoy Muntinee, the Mahishmati (name was changed by the Kauravas) Empire invaded the areas in and around the semi-protectorate of Xen while also invading and assisting the British in the repression of the rebellion. For that, the Empire was given full control over Zugur and Marati-Kogseguabraghoka. In a series of maneuvers following the Higoan withdrawal from various parts of the subcontinent, the Xidomao Empire was able to secure parts of Kauravas an autonomous holding through its diplomatic prowess. The current state of the Empire is fragile and weak, with poverty being rampant in Zugur and Marati, and the need to centralise becoming ever more present. Aceh was unified in personal union between the Sultan of Aceh and the Khan Thaube Baruleteg

I would like to know why your government would work against its own interests? It is generally ill-advised to tank your own economy. It would be like shooting off your face to spite your nose. Instead, corrupt, oppressive nations usually try to boost their economy in a way that aids their government without regard for the citizenry. That's why you see insanely rich princes and politicians in countries that might even be in an economic depression.

1) A strong nation for trade, fishing, farming, etc.

2) Something interesting would be a dispute about water boundaries, fishing zones, maybe a ship goes hundreds of miles into someone elses territory, eventually causing sanctions, tensions, maybe a small war or something

3) Like an Italian republic but less focused around finance and renneissance cultural movements; with a strong navy and long government. Basically.

The north of the island is a little bit overcrowded, almost 90% of our population is located here. The south has a stunning nature with high mountains and beautiful bays.
