THE CITY

Telgrad city centre by night

Telgrad is the capital city and the beating heart of Arioslavia. Home to over 12 million people, the city is the cultural, economic and scientific centre of the Federation. Built in early Middle Ages, Telgrad saw the most important moments of Arioslavian history - from the chaos of the early Medieval wars to the siege of 1942, from the times of the first Tsars to the creation of the modern Arioslavian state.

After arriving to Telgrad via one of the three international airports (Dyedovo, Medvedevo and Kuropatkino) or one of the twelve rail stations, the visitors can explore Telgrad using its famous underground or the finest public transport service. Mind that our new trolleybuses are one of the most eco-friendly means of transport in the world!

So, why not spend some time sightseeing? After all, the WorldVision is only one of the reasons to stay in Telgrad! Visit Kremlin, the official seat of the President of the Federation of Arioslavia, see the giant Lenin Square, learn Arioslavian history in one of Telgrad's museums and when the evening comes, party at the picturesque Aralbat Street or taste the city night life at the main street of Telgrad - Olonskaya Street!

Telgrad - Metropolis of Arioslavia

Telgrad offers good accomodation in over 4000 hotels - the most prestigious being "Arioslavia", "Metropole", "Evropeyskaya Gostinitsa", "Ukralia" and "Kosmos", all located in the city centre. If you prefer something cheaper, try one of the hotels located in nearby districts - Taganka, Zaryeche or Stankino. Or rent a room - many Telgrad citizens are open to host you for a convenient price, which is a great opportunity to see the life in our country and make friends! Even if you decide for an accomodation in one of the districts located further from the city centre - like Putino, Ostapino or Zubrovka - you aren't going to miss a thing, as you can get into the city centre in max. 30 minutes by Telgrad underground.

ARENAS

Several arenas will be prepared to hold the WorldVision Song Contest and various events connected to it.

Dluzhniki National Stadium

The contest will be held at the Dluzhniki National Stadium, home to the Arioslavian football national team. Built in 1930, it was modernized many times and can host up to 125.000 spectators, being the biggest sport arena in the country. In 1980, it was a main arena of the Ultimaverse Olympic Games. The stadium hosts numerous events every year, which include football matches, athletic competitions, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, political rallies and international summits.

Leninskaya Exhibition Hall

Leninskaya Exhibition Hall is well-known to those who attended the 28th World Hit Festival in Telgrad, as the Hall hosted the main contest of the WHF. If Telgrad wins the right to host the WVSC, the Hall will serve as a main fan zone of the contest. Constructed in 1962 for the Great Socialist Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition, modernized in 1977, 1999 and 2010, the Hall, which can contain 40.000 people, is currently used as a main exhibition arena in Telgrad. Every year, it hosts the Arioslavian GameCon event, as well as numerous concerts.

CULTURE

Arioslavia is a giant country inhabited by tens of ethnic and cultural groups - from Slavs to Turkic, Iranian, Mongol and Ugro-Finnish peoples. Although majority of its 12 million population is Slavic, Telgrad is a home to people from all of Arioslavia.

So, it's a perfect opportunity to try our delicious cuisine! Meh! I hate vodka and caviar! - you say? Don't worry! We have a lot more to offer! Have you ever tried pyelmieni, bliny, shashlyki, rassolnik, shchi or cheburak, drank kvass, mors or zbiten' or had syrnik for dessert? No? Time to fix it!

After their best ever result on home turf, Emittente Nazionale di Mercedini (ENM) decided to renew SongSearch for another year with the show bigger and better than ever due to a large surge in popularity due to the contest held in Mercedini for the first time. ENM have already achieved their goal of a podium finish in the five years since WorldVision 50, which means the broadcaster are setting their sites higher and further than first thought possible. This year, another eight songs have been selected by a panel of ENM executives and WorldVision fans in the hope of sending a winning song to WV53. This year's theme is based on the 'Legacy of Mercedini' with songs coming far and wide from experienced performers and local start-ups in Mercedini to put the new nation firmly on the WorldVision map after the successful hosting last time around. Without further ado, here are the eight songs vying for your votes tonight:

BREAKING- Ekozian broadcaster, STE, today shockingly announced that the country would once again participate in the 53rd WorldVision Song Contest after previously announcing that the broadcaster planned to move away from international broadcasting to focus on the quality of national programming however it has been revealed that MelodieFestivålen winner Hafthor Viktorsson, 25, will represent the country with his winning single Where We Belong.

Ekoz previously fully participated in the 50th edition of the contest, finishing 11th, their second lowest placing since the country's debut in WorldVision 32. Media reactions to the STE's announcement differ from outlet to outlet, many describing the broadcasters erratic change of stance in regards to participation of the contest. Public opinion to the contest has dramatically declined in recent editions with a viewership of 51.2% (33,210,923) watching the 50th edition; WorldVision 40 received a viewership of 89.98% (57,230,123). A spokesperson for the WorldVision delegation at the STE stated...

The STE has taken on board the public attitude towards returning and feel it is precisely the right time to return, and the most recent winner of MelodieFestivålen, Hafthor, is a perfect representative for our country. After a 3 edition hiatus, Kishrael has announced its intention to participate in the upcoming 53rd edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. Once again the Kdam-WorldVision formula is being used, with eight artists advancing to the final round for the chance to represent Kishrael on the world's biggest music stage. For the first time ever in Kishrael, and to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Mizrachi History Month within Kishrael, all songs will include Arabic, and the lineup consists of a number of Mizrachi and ethnically Arab singers.
