Gavin: Hello, I am your host, Gavin Marone and this is Live From WorldVision 52! The show is going to be a bit different than the WorldVision 50 and 51 editions. In those editions we just let you watch all the performances and announced the winning votes from Kannap. This edition, we have commentary for you to listen to as the performances go on. Let me introduce you to our two guests. First, we have Cindy Clengin. She is the president of the Federation for International Representation of Kannapian Culture. Welcome, Cindy!

Cindy: Hello Gavin, thanks for having me. It is truly an honor to be here.

Gavin: Next, we have Jackson Cullowee. He was one of the Kannapian representatives for WorldVision 51! He performed a duet with Brett Valdrell and the two placed 13th in the competition. Welcome, Jackson!

Jackson: Thanks for having me, Gavin, it's interesting being on this side of things. Not being on the stage, that is.

Gavin: Yes, it is very interesting indeed. We were informed, until just a few days ago, that you would be performing in this edition of WorldVision. However, you came to use about being a guest on the show and Joyelle Cadencia will be on the stage tonight. How did that happen?

Jackson: Well, Gavin, I thought I had the song all planned out for WorldVision 52, but I determined that the song I had been practicing was not right for this edition. I will be releasing the song in Kannap and Ultimaverse soon and will write a new song for WorldVision 53, where I will be taking Joyelle Cadencia's originally planned spot.

Gavin: Interesting, well I am sure she will wow the audience tonight. Cindy, how did the 52-53 compromise come about and how is the committee taking the sudden last-minute change?

Cindy: Firstly, we fully support our representatives in these competitions. So when Jackson Cullowee came to us a few days ago and told us he was not right for this competition and would wait until the next WorldVision, we supported him entirely. He also recommended that we let Joyelle Cadencia take the stage in this WorldVision and we told her and she was up for it. She was ready even when we thought she wouldn't be, I think she's had a song in the works for a few weeks now. She probably didn't intend to debut it at WorldVision 52, but all the better to do so. We're going to be proud of her tonight.

Gavin: Great! Well, without further ado, let's view some performances!

Cindy: Well, that was certainly ... interesting.

Gavin: Yeah, it definitely wasn't the best song choice. I am sure we'll see some better songs tonight.

Jackson: I kind of liked it, it felt different. I know that it can only get better tonight from here!

Cindy: Jackson, I thought you said it was only going to get better from here. This was just purely annoying, it was horrendous.

Jackson: Yeah, that was quite annoying. Looks like my prediction was a fluke, but lets hope that after this we can only improve through the night.

Cindy: Oh my, that was horrid! I absolutely hated the use of curse words throughout, can't we keep it clean people?

Jackson: Agreed Cindy, music can be entertaining enough with entirely clean lyrics.

Cindy: Outstanding! Beautiful! I love the music, the sound, the lyrics, all of it! Amazing!

Jackson: This was definitely a good one, I think Cosneolta really put a good performer forward and she delivered! Absolutely brilliant all around.

Gavin: Hey, this wasn't nearly as bad as the songs before hers. I think she did an excellent performance. Can we hear her perform again? Encore!

Cindy: Another beautiful performance, simply beautiful. Though a different kind of beautiful, if you know what I mean. I enjoyed slowing down for this one.

Jackson: Most people try to go for fast and upbeat nowadays, it felt good to slow down the pace a bit. I greatly enjoyed this one.

Gavin: Two good songs in a row? Looks like we're on that positive incline you predicted Jackson, maybe it really can only get better from here. Starting to see some good performances that could win high on the Kannapian rankings

Cindy: I heard the name of the nation and got my hopes up, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. This was horrible in my opinion.

Jackson: It was kind of okay, I guess, I just wasn't feeling it that much.

Cindy: From the very opening, this was not for me. I was not feeling this in the slightest. Next!

Jackson: I would agree with you Cindy, except I can't. I mean, I agree that I wasn't feeling it in the beginning. However, it hit the chorus and it did it for me, I fell in love. Definitely not the best song of the night, but I expect it will get some points from Kannap in the voting.

Cindy: Was this supposed to be a song or a preview for the newest film in theaters in Tomikosan? I lost interest very early into the "song"

Jackson: I agree entirely, I was hoping for a song but it just seemed very commercial-ly to me.

Cindy: Definitely not the best song of the night, but I still greatly enjoyed it. This song can expect to win some points from Kannap.

Jackson: Definitely, I enjoyed it. However, as you said, not the best one of the night.

Cindy: I enjoy the sound of this one. The words and the music go so very well together, I am impressed. I definitely believe that this song will be scoring high in the Kannapian vote.

Jackson: Absolutely, this song has a beauty about it that I just cannot place my finger on. I just want to lay down in an open meadow and listen to this song on repeat for a few hours. Stare at the clouds while I do that, this song seems perfect for that level of relaxation.

Cindy: That was entirely disappointing. I don't know why we trusted putting her in charge of representing Kannap this WorldVision.

Jackson: I could have done a better job if I just got on stage and slept for an hour

Gavin: This was definitely a disappointing decision to put forth Joyelle as our singer

Cindy: As many times as they repeated that Ardoki is awesome, I am not quite swayed. I don't think I'll be visiting the nation anytime soon. Especially if they need to aggressively market themselves as awesome this way.

Jackson: I visited Ardoki once, they had some... interesting food. I was definitely happy to return to Kannap afterwards. As for this song, I refrain from commenting on the alleged awesome quality of Ardoki, but they can believe whatever they wish to believe.

Cindy: This one is just too slow for me, but I kinda like the words I guess.

Jackson: I really didn't feel this in the slow opening, but as the song went on I came to understanding with the fact that it was going to remain a slow and steady song. I did enjoy the lyrics, especially friends, love, joy, and smile. Those are important things.

Cindy: Estogium! That's a name I love to hear, I frequently visit and love the place. I've been considering buying a vacation home there. About the song, I absolutely loved it. I love the music that Estogium offers. This is a song that I will definitely be adding to my playlist.

Jackson: Well Cindy, I've never been to Estogium, but this was indeed a pretty good song. It will definitely find a place in the points awarded by Kannap, though it is tough to say where it will fall in exactly. The performer was kinda attractive though, hopefully that isn't the reason people vote for him. He's got lots of talent.

<<Mitoland>>
Cindy:Is the world being divided? Maybe not, but I certainly believed it for a few moments during this song. Electrum really came up with a good song for this WorldVision.

Gavin: Yes, this song was definitely a good one. Where did Jackson go?

Cindy:Ah, yes, the host nation? This was a good song. Not nearly as good as their opening song, perhaps they should have made that their actual entry.

Gavin: I kinda liked this music, I think it will find a good place in the Kannapian vote, if I know anything about how the people of our fine nation vote.

Cindy: I have no idea what they were talking about or what they were trying to say to anybody. The music was also pretty atrocious, in my opinion. All in all, I don't think EDO will see any points earned from Kannapian voting.

Gavin: Jackson's back from his mysterious disappearance.

Jackson: I certainly agree Cindy, and yes, I've returned. Sorry, I had to track down the singer from Estogium and personally tell him that he performed wonderfully,

Cindy: Wonderful! Beautiful! It was so motivating, I want to go run a marathon now. Is Mercedini having any marathons soon? The Kannapolis Marathon isn't until April.

Jackson: Well done indeed, I believe that they'll definitely score high in the Kannapian vote. I feel so motivated now too Cindy.

Cindy: Compared to the other songs that we've heard tonight, this is definitely different and I think that on that respect alone it will score on the Kannapian chart when votes begin to come in. People get tired of hearing similar songs after a while and start to look for uniqueness.

Jackson: I honestly think this song is just as repetitive and entertaining as any of the other songs that we've listened to tonight. That being said, it was still a good song and I think that it will score well in the Kannapian vote, like you said.

Cindy:That was absolutely beautiful! I loved it! I loved it so much! Definitely my favorite song of tonight. I think that the citizens of Kannap, mostly members of the Church of Kannap, will love this song too.

Jackson: Especially with December Day coming up on the 25th and Christmas coming soon after on the 7th of January, I do believe people will love this Christmassy song. It is a beautiful song indeed.

18 MISTER X

Filius Deorum - "I'm Flying Higher".
Tune: Justin Timberlake - "Can't Stop The Feeling.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, and try again. FIlius Deorum has lost count of the amount of times he has represented Mister X at the WorldVision Song Contest, but his consistent record of achieving good if unspectacular results meant that MRX Television, in desperate need of a good result, having not secured a top ten finish since WorldVision 44, are forced to turn back to the man who delivers more reliably than your average midwife. His new song, "I'm Flying Higher", was, in the words of Deorum, "something less cheesy in the lyrics than what I've had before. It won't be about love or anything soft and fluffy, it will be about the fact that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. Mister X is, after all, an aspiration nation".

Consequently, social media went into overdrive with #AspirationNation appearing almost everywhere in Mister X in an attempt to finally win the WorldVision Song Contest. After missing out on hosting the 52nd WorldVision Song Contest, no expense was spared. Mister Xian choreographers were brought in by the truckload, and there was the most thorough process of lyric-writing ever produced.

As Filius Deorum took to the stage, he felt as though the whole of Mister X was waiting on his shoulders. As the intro began, he geed the crowd up by slow hand clapping above his head in time to the beat, and the crowd joined in. Behind Filius, who was wearing a suit with a black tie and a white shirt, the stage was in natural light with a hint of blue. At the moment, nobody else was on the stage, although one got the sense that it was not going to remain that way. As he sang the first verse, Filius owned the stage. It was just him, and he made his presence felt, walking around the stage, almost as though he was marking out his territory.

I got a reason to tell you all
To why you shouldn't give up on your greatest goal
All through your life, body and soul,
You've got to do it, baby, 'cause I know you can't

In the next portion of the song, female dancers came onto the stage wearing clothing that was neither suggestive, nor conservative, but somewhere in between: they were wearing tight-fitting dark grey T-shirts with black trousers and high heels. They all had long brunette hair and all were wearing makeup. They came onto the stage and lined up in formation behind FIlius, in three rows of five.

Give up, it's capable within you,
I know you can do it right,
Feeling down or low or deflated,
And mood drops? (No!)
If you put your own mind to it, anything is possible
And if you know what you're doing, just don't stop

The lighting changes to a spotlight on Filius, and the ladies go into half-light and start making weird shapes with their bodies. As the pre-chorus continues, the ladies speed up when doing their shaping.

And under the lights, soak up the pressure,
Although you stress out, I know it's your goal,
So just move on and just take it slow,
And just remember, just remember, just remember...

As the beat drops, all of the lights come on in naturalistic light. The ladies take four steps forward in time to the music, and then when Filius sings "chance", they cut a shape every time he sings it, therefore creating three shapes in the space of under a second. In the next line, they repeat this process, but rather taking four steps back rather than forwards. Then then repeat this process twice more, changing direction every time.

That it's not always a game of chance, chance, chance, yeah,
You just, you just, gotta take your chance, chance, chance, yeah,
All those things you wanna do, your chance, chance, chance, yeah,
And it's your life, just do it right, and look what happened to me:

The ladies stop doing this, and when the next line comes in, on the chord immediately after "I'm flying higher", the ladies all punch the air unison. They then stay still for a tiny bit, then repeat the shapes they were making when Filius sung "chance".

I'm flying higher,
Ain't no chance, chance, chance,
I'm flying higher,
Ain't no chance, chance, chance, come on!

The ladies quickly sprint off the stage, and Filius addresses particular members of the audience, as if to say that anyone can do this. Anyone can fulfil their dreams, their ideas, as long as they make the effort and put their mind to it. It's a message of positivity and light, and that positive attitude is seen in Filius's facial expressions. It could be you next to represent your country.

Ooh, it's always up to you,
You know you gotta focus now on what you do,
If you need a reason, have any doubts,
Then ask yourself what you really wanna do,

As before, the female dancers came onto the stage and lined up in formation behind FIlius, in three rows of five.

'Cause I know it's capable within you,
I know you can do it right,
Feeling down or low or deflated,
And mood drops? (No!)
If you put your own mind to it, anything is possible
And if you know what you're doing, just don't stop

The lighting, once more, changes to a spotlight on Filius, and the ladies go into half-light and start making weird shapes with their bodies. As the pre-chorus continues, the ladies speed up when doing their shaping.

And under the lights, soak up the pressure,
Although you stress out, I know it's your goal,
So just move on and just take it slow,
And just remember, just remember, just remember...

Take your chance, come on!

Filis then joins in with the ladies in dancing. During the instrumental break, Filius dances with two or three ladies at once before moving onto the next two or three ladies. They dance for a very short time with Filius, and when they're not dancing, they gee up the audience, clapping their hands above their heads in time to the music, causing the audience to join in once more, and whilst this is going on, the backing dancers occasionally sing.

(I'm flying)
(I'm flying)
(I'm flying, I'm flying)

Filius then comes back, having finished dancing with the ladies, returns to the front of the stage to continue the song. As before with the chorus, the ladies take four steps forward in time to the music, and then when Filius sings "chance", they cut a shape every time he sings it, therefore creating three shapes in the space of under a second. In the next line, they repeat this process, but rather taking four steps back rather than forwards. Then then repeat this process twice more, changing direction every time. The chorus, this time, is punctuated with occasional bursts from the backing dancers.

I'm flying higher!
That it's not always a game of chance, chance, chance, yeah,
(I'm flying higher!)
You just, you just, gotta take your chance, chance, chance, yeah, (I'm flying higher!)
All those things you wanna do, your chance, chance, chance, yeah, (I'm flying higher!)
And it's your life, just do it right, and look what happened to me: everybody:

Now, the backing dancers stop doing so, and move towards the front of the stage, where, along with Filius, they continue to gee up the crowd as the song reaches its climax.

I'm flying higher! (You gotta do what you wanna!)
I'm flying higher! (You gotta do what you wanna!)
I'm flying higher! (You gotta do what you wanna!)
I'm flying higher! (You gotta do what you wanna!)
You gotta do what you wanna! (I'm flying higher!)
You gotta do what you wanna! (Oooooooooh...)

"Thank you", says Filius, "and remember, you can do anything that you wanna do! Hashtag: aspiration nation!"

Electrumite Worldvision Commentary - Network ENN (Electrum National Network)

Image
Is this even what they wear in Mercedini?

Sonya: Good evening, good evening, good evening we are here in Langtree, Mercedini!
Max: Ah, finally we're at a new nation!
Sonya: We're back with even more funding than before and luckily the government is shut down this time.
Max: Excellent. I love the smell of new clothes, it's just so good looking so stylish, yet ethnic looking. Anyways, I don't even know if this is the national dress of Mercedini.
Sonya: Oh well. Let's just get started.

0. Opening
Max: Cute song really.
Sonya: Yeah I quite liked it. It had the potential to be bad but it wasn't. It also sounded musicall-ly.
Max: You mean like the website?
Sonya: No...
Max: You mean like it's like music?
Sonya: I mean to say that it sounds like it came from a musical.
Max: Oh. Well that's one of the better openings we've seen.

1. Darkmania
Max: What a genuinely hilarious song!
Sonya: I really can't stop giggling. We've heard this music before, but man it's a great twist.
Max: Though the lyrics don't really make much sense. If they put a bit more effort into those lyrics it would have been perfect.
Sonya: One of a few joke entries today, and speaking of joke entries, the next nation is...

2. Missus X
Max: What an awful, repulsive song. Shame on Rick Leg!
Sonya: It's par the course as what we expected, but I like his unabashed nature. It shows that he's willing to experiment with shock value.
Max: Well I didn't appreciate looking at a tent being pitched, alright!

3. Cosneolta
Sonya: Well come on. They could've chosen something else than coffee in the beginning of the song.
Max: Otherwise I actually quite liked this song.
Sonya: Yeah I did. Rachel's voice is divine. Simply divine.
Max: I didn't mind the DJ parts too. It was a good combination to me.

4. Polkopia
Max: This was quite good.
Sonya: I thought it was very good.
Max: It just got more and more intense which was just great.
Sonya: I liked the Parisian style singing with the fewer instruments at the beginning more than the latter parts to be honest

5. Krytenia
Sonya: This one smashed it out of the park for me. Exquisite, excellent, unbelievable!
Max: I really want to take to the dancefloor.
Sonya: You guys at home should see Max dancing right now, it's hilarious!
Max: I can't help it, it's an awesome song.

6. Todlichebujoku
Sonya: Well I didn't like the song, but I didn't hate it too.
Max: It had its good and bad points didn't it.
Sonya: Yeah, I mean the lyrics were just great as always. They were so good. But I think they were let down by the music.
Max: For me I think the flamethrower, the whirlwind, just everything was just too much. Far far too much. But unlike you I quite like the music. I thought it was alright.
Sonya: It didn't resonate with me, sorry.

7. Tomikosan
Max: This is the song either you hate or you love. I thought it was just far too repetitive repeating the same chords over and over. Boring.
Sonya: I quite liked the beat, it's quite addictive. Just one question? What do they mean by rolling?
Max: I mean, you know, roll on the floor? I don't quite understand. Anyways, next song.

8. Kalosia
Sonya: This song is just excellent. Are we on to another winner?
Max: This definitely has potential to be a winning song alright. It does everything very well, but then again it's an all-girl band.
Sonya: This song was a thousand times more addicting than the previous song. It's just well made and put together.
Max: As we expected from Kalosia.

9. Normandy and Picardy
Max: There's an excellent vocal quality you don't get anywhere else. It's a welcome respite amidst all of the poppy songs we've had today.
Sonya: Really stands out, doesn't it?
Max: Yeah. It really is a beautiful song. It's charming. I'm enamoured.

10. Kannap
Sonya: I quite like this one. It's a great pick-me-up.
Max: Definitely. Joyelle's got that sweet voice, it's not too saccharine, it's got a good balance.
Sonya: I'm quite impressed.

11. Ardoki
Sonya: Yikes. They've sent the same politician again, Alistair Killian Moriarty.
Max: The name just sounds evil enough already, and now you tell me he's a politician? Anyways.
Sonya: Yes anyways, it's just them blowing their own trumpet really.
Max: Desperately trying to be awesome but not.

12. Adab
Sonya: And we've got another repeat and it's... Kinan al-Salaman... This had better be a good one after what happened last time.
Max: I don't quite know why they're still sending the same person who's caused protests in that country. You'd think after all those alleged lies they'd just be done with it and off'd his head.
Sonya: The performance took too long to start, I forgot that the song already started with the slow music. It's beset with the same problems as usual.
Max: I quite liked the use of old-timey music, but at nearly six minutes and at the pace it was, and the slow beginning where everyone was still for like 20 seconds, it's just too much.

13. Estogium
Max: Is that really his promotional picture? Just one of him holding his foot? I mean really!
Sonya: I don't quite understand what this song is getting at. This has to be one of the weirdest songs I have ever seen.
Max: So many questions. Why'd they take the bible out?
Sonya: No wait, it's an exorcism! That's so cool! They're getting rid of the demons. Wow, what a treat!
Max: I think it's about a break-off or an excommunication. Whatever it is, I can't figure it out.
Sonya: Well I liked the church imagery. Fit well with the song and this song really is memorable. I actually love this song to bits.

14. Mitoland

15. Electrum
Sonya: I didn't like the voicing, but I really like the electronic music. It's brilliant.
Max: I just loved the scenery and the lyrics, it really jelled well for me. Network ENN chose well I think.
Sonya: Oh well, we can disagree.

16. Mercedini
Max: It's a definitely invigorating song, gets your heart pumping
Sonya: For me it was just lacking a bit in the X-Factor. I mean I just felt like it wasn't memorable. Sorry. I don't know.
Max: Well that's your opinion but I love this song.

17. Electrum Diplomatic Offices
Max: What a thoroughly annoying song.
Sonya: And it's about something that's been debunked. We're not in some 'simulation' or whatever. This is real life!
Max: Yeah, she's crazy. The more time she competes the more senile she becomes I'm afraid.
Sonya: I did like the quirky music though. It's hilarious.

18. Mister X
Max: A good, wholesome song. I think this is the best crack Filius Deorum has made.
Sonya: I just love Filius. He's such a babe, and he's a great singer to boot as well.
Max: It's definitely a great song and it's up there. And I'll go as far as to say it's got a look-in to winning the contest.
Sonya: It's that good. Well done.

19. Zeganas
Max: To me this just feels like another generic pop song
Sonya: Max, that's what all of these songs are really. I don't think that's really a fair criticism.
Max: Sorry that's a no from me.

20. Ethane
Sonya: The beginning took far too long. Way too long actually.
Max: Well when we got there it was brilliant really. I actually didn't mind the violin. You know what I'm like, the more violin, the better.
Sonya: It's a Christmassy song celebrating the birth of a baby boy. I don't know... it just doesn't really fit for me.

21. Izmedu
Max: I usually like the Izmedu songs but I really can't get past that voice. It's just too weird and annoying for me. Sorry.
Sonya: Yeah, I didn't like the whistling parts in the background as well. Although I like the tune as a whole, it just really bugs me.
Max: They should get back to internal selection like we've always done, to be honest!

Max: Say Sonya, I had the strangest memory.
Sonya: Yeah?
Max: I think I might be crazy but I have a feeling at one point or another we were hosting for Darkmania?
Sonya: Don't be ridiculous! You've been hosting with me so many times now. We're practically WorldVision celebrities
Max: Gee, you think so?
Sonya: Yup.
Max: But I tweeted it before and so many people agreed with me!
Sonya: Oh Max, it's what they call the Mandela Effect. It didn't happen. Promise.
Max: If you say so...

Interval
Max: Gertrude is not going to like being namechecked like that!
Sonya: It's all in good fun, and this was a great, bubbly interval song. Excellent.

WorldVision 52 Coverage with Jean Beauvoir

Hello everyone, I'm Jean Beauvoir and welcome to WorldVision 52, live from Langtree, Mercedini. Unforetunately, Susanna couldn't be here tonight, so I'm here in her place. Yes, ten contests after we last hosted it, and a contest after we won (I still can't get over it) here we are for another round of pop, ballads and everything inbetween; God I Love WorldVision! The message of tonights message is Together Stronger, so if we all get behind Florence, who is our act for tonight, then we can perhaps do well again! There are some major contenders this contest from what I've read, and listened to, but it's not up to me, but to you. So, take it away Mercedini. The shows about to begin...

0 - Opening Act
Jesus Christ that dragged on; I thought it would never end! At first I was rather enjoying it, and I felt rather pumped up and ready for the show. But once they started getting into politics and their SongSearch or whatever it's called (at least they can keep up an NF!), it all rather sank very, very deep. Our hosts seem nice enought, especially Miles... Anyway, that joke from Petra was funny; it's not often you get a funny host (she certainly know her audience!). Let's get running!

1 - Darkmania
Why do I like this? Why do I like this? Why do I like this? There's something like a woman in a big sparkly suit singing a song in mangled English to half-dated ethno-pop which boggles the senses. I love it, okay?!? I mean, it could be better, and I swear I have heard this before, but whatever. As the first act of the night, this was pleasantly enjoyable.

2 - Missus X
What...What...What was that? I now know there is no God, because if there were one he would have been merciful enough to stop this from ever being created. The lyrics are absolutely atrocious and deserve to be srubbed from the collective memory of everyone here and at home. The music was strangely enjoyable in a way that is hard to describe; it is awful, but I would dance to this on a night out. Still, let's move swiftly on...

3 - Cosneolta
Well this was unexpected; this was really god, by far the best so far, although I suppose that isn't saying much. I guess it felt a little hollow at times, but this does have the potential to do very well, and it is very 'now' if you catch my meaning. The lyrics are average, but it is the tune that carries this; I would certainly consider voting for this, not that I am telling you how to vote, and I can't vote either.

4 - Polkopia
And Polkopia win again... what a surprise. I really love the suave feel to it, how it builds up, and Silvija's voice is divine. This is all really put together really well, and if this doesn't end up in the Top 3 of our vote, yet alone the final result, I will be very, very surprised; I can't think why this wouldn't end up their. This song is simply beautiful, beautiful I tell you.

5 - Krytenia
I love a good bit of funk, so this is perfect for me. You go, girl! I mean, I wouldn't say this is the best song tonight, but this is something I will probably listen to on repeat for a week after the contest is over, so well done their. What a return this is for Krytenia; top 10 perhaps?

6 - Todlichebujoku
So these lot have returned (don't think I'm saying that name), and sadly I didn't like this much. The spoken word at the begin was really weird and unsettled me, whether that's intentional or not, but then the music sounded like dated noughties pop. I fell asleep in the chorus sadly, so I didn't catch any of it. I'm sorry, but this song didn't do anything for me, but no doubt it will do well.

7 - Tomikosan
Yes yes yes! This isn't the best song of the night, but I must say I really enjoyed it. Perhaps it got a bit repetitive, but by god is it addictive and a little bit of fun! I wouldn't feel guilty for voting for this and you shouldn't too! Oh, I joke, but I hope this doesn't do too badly.

8 - Kalosia
You slay! I think we have a competition on our hands, people! I still prefer Polkopia, but this will slay it's way to the top of the leaderboard. It has a bit of a throwback feel to it, but it's still modern, and although it isn't my usual fare I still really enjoyed it. Expect this to be in with a shot of the top spot.

9 - Normandy and Picardy
Bless Florence, well done! This is such a sweet song, perhaps a bit drawn out but very sweet and I can feel the emotion welling up inside me. The use of French here really adds something to the song, and considering the other songs so far this really has the potential to stand out and do well. Come on Florence, we believe in you!

10 - Kannap

11 - Ardoki
Music - yes. I love a 90s inspired club/disco banger, and songs like this are my guily pleasure. Lyrics - no. That's where this really let's itself down; we don't care if Ardoki is awesome or not, I'm not becoming Ardokian soon Alistair Moriarty, so you might as well give up now. See ya! Anyway, let's carry on with the show...

12 - Adab
Oh, it's this guy. My notes from Suzanne tell me to say 'Oh not, it's not this guy again. There must be no one else in Adab...' To be fair, I didn't notice until I woke up when the song was over. I lasted for about 30 seconds, but then I just gave up and so I let sleep take over for a while. After something like Ardoki's super fast-paced song, this feels, well, boring. Sorry Adab, I just didn't like this one.

13 - Estogium
Ooh, hello there... Sorry, what? Israael - yes. The song - no. The song does nothing for me; the weird bit with the chorus sounds like someone is melting and trying desprately to scream for help as some sort of horror movie monster gets closer and closer. Also, I really don't appreciate the whole bible spiel.

14 - Mitoland

15 - Electrum
Well, this is now my favourite. I just love the overall sound of it, the feel of it, there's something about it that sucks you in and hooks you to it; this will probably be stuck in my head for the rest of the night, and surely that's a good thing. Also, the staging was really clever, and I applaud ENN for their creativity. Well done Electrum; this is my winner so far.

16 - Mercedini

17 - Electrum Diplomatic Offices
Bloody hell, is that old hag... sorry, is Gertrude really back? I don't actually know what I was actually just subject to, but I imagine it is now being used as a mode of torture across the multiverse. This is what happens when you're on drugs, apparently, and is a walking advertisement against them.

18 - Mister X
Well, Filius can sing this to me whenever he wants, and that's not just because of... well, the song is so, so, so catchy and addictive. This is the best song so far, without a doubt. They've really pulled it out of the bag with this one, and the only way is up, up, up to the top of the leaderboard. We may well have just listened to our winner folks. Give them the trophy or whatever it is now.

Viktor: "Welcome back to the Polkopian coverage of the Worldvision Song Contest in Langtree, Mercedini!"

Anna: "So far we've seen 10 acts perform, but don't worry, there are several more to go! If you're just joining us now, stay tuned. When all the acts have finished performing, there will be a recap of all of the entries, so you'll still be able to see some of what you've missed."

Viktor: "And moving on. Before we start to ramble on now, we have Ardoki up next."

Viktor: "Gotta love what nationalism combined with a low budget brings to the stage, eh?"

Anna: "I'm not entirely sure what that was, if I'm to be totally honest. I don't think they understood what was going on. Seems to me like they put a song together backstage just 5 minutes before going on stage."

Viktor: "I don't think it's the worst of the night though. At least it was a bit humorous, yeah?."

Anna: "Yeah, I guess so. Still, I can't see this one receiving much points in the end."

Commentary on MRX ONE with Robert Baxter and Sam Smith.

Sam: Welcome back. I'm live in the audience. Let's dive in. Here's a lady - do you speak English or Latin? No, she clearly doesn't! Oh, I've got the wrong aftershave on. Excuse me, madam, do you speak English or Latin? No! Nobody speaks English or Latin! I'll try a man next. Excuse me, sir, do you speak English or Latin? No, he doesn't either. Back to you in the box, Robert. We're not trying this again.

Robert: Let's dive in. Next, it's Estogium.

13 Estogium

Robert: I really didn't like that.
Sam: Yeah... I didn't, either. I'm afraid Estogium won't be doing well this time around. I think it's either super-soft or soft, I'll go for jam.

14 Mitoland

15 Electrum

Robert: I really enjoyed that.
Sam: I'm not sure whether it's medium or hard, but I also really enjoyed that.
Robert: Winner?
Sam: Quite possibly. In any case, I've decided, it's bread.

16 Mercedini

Robert: I was just waiting for that drop to occur. And then, when it did, I felt rather underwhelmed.
Sam: Yeah, same thing. I wasn't the world's biggest fan of that, I'm afraid.
Robert: Never mind. You have to accept that they've put resources into hosting.
Sam: Indeed. That is also bread.
Robert: Next - oh lord - it's Electrum Diplomatic Offices...

17 Electrum Diplomatic Offices

Sam: That was a very sharp mango, wasn't it? Knife. Robert's speechless.
Robert: No, I'm talking to myself, it's the only way I can be sure of intelligent conversation whenever EDO are on. No offence, Sam, that doesn't include you.
Sam: It's OK, I think I've lost my mental capacity too.
Robert: Well, you'd better reclaim it quickly, because here comes Filius Deorum, and "I'm Flying Higher"!

18 Mister X

Sam: Bwoah!
Robert: Please, let's win this time.
Sam: It's a knife.

Oyoka Project
Eternal Love

Tune: Groove Coverage - Poison

(singing in bold)

A silhouette figure appears in front of the bright screen behind. Lit up on each side are drummers, the lead singer of Oyoka Project, Janice Sakato, is the dark figure. The song builds up while a few lights light her up front, revealing her wearing a black and purple dress.

When earth.. ceases
world in.. pieces
A thing.. I feel
could it.. be reallll

Then the stage goes from mostly backlit to being lit up by different spotlights overhead. The stage visual effects showing black and purple hearts against a rainy looking backdrop.

I can't believe what I am feeling right now
It picks me up whenever I am feeling down I just wanna express what I'm feeling and how
Well let me tell what I'm feeling is eternal love
eternal love it guides my way
erernal...
forever I feel this love

Then things go back to a more dark feeling, with fog machines going now. The stage's visual screens now showing a thunderstorm with lightning in the clouds.

because.. of you
our love.. it's true
crazy... I know
but now.. we goooooo

And then back to things getting more energetic with the overhead spotlights turning back on and the background morphing from thunderstorms to outer space, with vivid colors of aqua and hot pink clouds in space.

into infinity and we are one
it never dies and I will hope and pray that our love will keep us going cuz the battle is won

Well let me tell what I'm feeling is eternal love
eternal love it guides my way
erernal...
forever I feel this love[/b]

Things go very dark with only one spotlight on the main singer.

all because I am with you
we have this love.. it's true
A thing.. I feel
could it.. be reallll

Things go energetic again with the background now depicting a giant light in the center which focuses around the main singer.

I can't believe what I am feeling right now
It picks me up whenever I am feeling down I just wanna express what I'm feeling and how
Well let me tell what I'm feeling is eternal love
eternal love it guides my way
erernal...
forever I feel this love

eternal love...

And strobe lights are flashing, pyrotechnics flaring when the final chorus starts up, throughout the chorus the background shows fire erupting everywhere.

I can't believe what I am feeling right now
It picks me up whenever I am feeling down I just wanna express what I'm feeling and how
Well let me tell what I'm feeling is eternal love
eternal love it guides my way
erernal...
forever I feel this love

eternal love...

And the spotlights turn off and regular lighting comes back onto the stage, Janice Sakato smiling and yelling out enthusiastically "THANK YOU LONGTREE! THANK YOU WORLDVISION! THANK YOU NATIONSTATES!".

William Baker

Ethane - The Star
The Tune

William is stood centre stage (looks like this: http://c8.alamy.com/comp/FD372W/young-m ... W.jpg&#41&#41). He is stood in an upright position, bow poised in his left hand and violin in his outstretched right arm. The stage is dark, apart from the screen at the back, which shows a starry sky with the moon shining bright, which makes the artist look like a silhouette. He moves the bow along the strings as he plays the tune, the beautiful sounds reverberating around the arena.
As the music cruscendos, 2 dancers begin to rise up off the floor. 1 minute into the clip when this dies down again, the artist is playing the violin quietly while two dancers rise up off the floor, who were not visible previously. They begin to move around the violinist in surreal, wavy patterns. They have white neon lights strung up on them, creating a magnificent effect as they move around the dark stage.
As the song begins to build up agains from about the 1 minute 28 mark, the dancers become slightly more fast paced, and more stars appear on the screen at the back.
From 1 minute 54, firefly like things (as seen in the video of the song) fly around the stage in a wavy formation, moving around relatively fast, but not too fast. A few circle around the dancers as they continue to circle around the violinist, who remains practically motionless in centre stage like a silhouette, quietly playing the violin in the apparent distance.
At 2 minutes 20, the dancers seem to 'sink' back into the floor again and disappear, although this is an illusion as they just fall to the floor either side of the violinist and a little forward, but the stage is too dark for them to really be seen apart from a faint black outline.
At 2 minutes 26, the violinist steps forward into a slightly brighter area of the stage The 'firefly' like things move in closer to the singer, circling around him with some of them doing spirals right in front of him.
From 3 minutes 6, as the song begins to move towards the cruescendo, the firefly like things begin to move around in more of a swarm-like pattern, and begin to move away from the singer, circling the stage, flying around like a swarm of wasps, just more smooth in their movements. The two dancers begin to rise again, the lights on them turning on again. They are quite close to the singer as the lights fade on slowly, them slowly becoming noticeable until the cruescendo when they are fully noticeable.

I saw the star shining high above that shed,
The light beaming directly down upon that makeshift bed.
The cattle were lowing, their noises filled the night,
The skies full of angels, singing in exalted delight.

As the song enters the chorus-like section of the song, the firefly like things split off into two groups flying around the stage. The moon on the screen behind slowly begins to move off the screen as it seems to pan across some land, although the stars remain, albeit changing a little. The screen behind shows the camera passing multiple people walking along with donkeys amongst other things, as well as passing some warm-looking houses and inns. The singer takes another step forward, almost reaching the front of the stage, and a spotlight is shone down on him. The dancers once again circle the singer just outside the spotlight, their lights shining out.

The baby boy was born,
The end, a crown of thorns.
Born in that manger still,
It was all in God’s will,
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh,
Gathered the Wise Men were,
Lay down in the hay,
baby boy, the only way.

The screen continues to pan across with the stars in the sky remaining, until the end of the chorus-like section, where the camera reaches a dirty, cold looking barn, but which has a bright star shining above it beaming down onto it, a number of people inside including some fancily dressed, and a load of angels singing, lighting up the sky behind it. The single spotlight remains on the singer, with the firefly-like things and the dancers the only other sources of light.

And on that cold dark night,
The skies were oh so bright,
As the angels up there sing,
For the coming of Christ the King,
The shepherds came to see,
because they believe,
And they all shouted with joy,
For the saviour, baby boy.

From 4:12-4:18, the dancers, back in their original positions again go to the floor, their lights turned off so they are mostly invisible. The firefly-like things fall to the floor slowly, almost as if they are landing, before going off and providing no light from 4:18.
At 4:17, the spotlight turns off, and all the commotion on the back screen disappears, leaving only a stable with a star above it, everything else dark. The singer cannot be seen as he sings the final words, leaving just the star on the back screen beaming down on the shed below, and a baby boy sleeping.

The cattle were lowing, their noises filled the night,
The skies full of angels, singing in exalted delight.

From 4:40 to the end of the song, the back screen pans up to the sky, revealing a sky full of stars. On the stage, where the singer and the rest of the performance crew from Ethane have already left the stage and gone just off-stage, waiting for it to end so they can say thanks, these are released from the groundin various places around the arena dotted around the audience, which then float up to the ceiling.

William Baker returns to the stage. 'Thank you all, thank you Mercedini. This was amazing. I hope you loved this as much as I did!' He then left the stage, so that they may prepare for the next act.
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.

21. IZMEDU
Karin Volaric - Redemption

Capping off what had already been a successful string of the results at the dusk of WorldVision 40s came off to a rousing start at the 50s when Ziva Lipovac had brought home Izmedu's first podium result in WorldVision since WV44, and arguably the closest the country has gotten to winning the contest since then. Off the back of Ziva's success, many Izmeduan WV fans and critics believed that Izmepisma was the strike of lightning that could catapult the country to further, long-term success. It had brought in fresh new faces to the Izmeduan entry, revitalized what had thought to be a slowly stagnating country, and brought a slightly more renewed optimism to WorldVision business. Of course, RTI didn't hesitate to renew the national final format for a second season, but things ended up a little bit more differently this time around...

It was a dead heat result like last time, but Karin Volaric counted her lucky stars as she and her song “Redemption” won the second iteration of Izmepisma by a slim margin of 3 points. As a singer who had in a sense been considered an outlier for a majority of her career, the Izmepisma win was both surreal and gratifying, and the chance to go to WorldVision even moreso. Karin, unlike most singers who find their careers in Izmeduan pop, was a singer who started gathering fame as a singer rather late in her career. She spent most of her 20s deliberately playing music gigs and holding out in the 'underground' scene for as long as she could, becoming a quasi-permanent fixture in Vodiznad bars where she sang her heart out to patrons that wanted a taste of music that Izmeduan pop couldn't satisfy. Karin, largely developing her music identity in nightly jam sessions in the deep recesses of the Vodiznad city center, became known as a pop artist who wasn't really a pop artist at the same time, and she took this contradiction rather proudly to the WorldVision contest.

Hailing from Vodiznad, Karin was the child of two buskers who were romantically involved in their quest to find musical fame, doing much the same things that Karin was doing in her adult life (except in much more unstable circumstances). This caused Karin's childhood to be both one of constant chaos and perpetual excitement, of which Karin was the only one to feel the latter. Even though her family was rooted in the city, where Karin lived within often changed from day to day (the details of which Karin deliberately withholds). One day, she could be in the Adviant Palace having to patiently wait for her family to finish the rounds to scrape by enough money to make the next day. Despite the tough circumstances of her childhood, Karin was introduced to the art of making music for as long as she remembered and as soon as she was able to handle an instrument. Her Father (Gabrijel Volaric, now a day-to-day session musician) discovered something else on top of her abilities in guitar, which was the ability to sing.

Both of Karin's parents worked overtime in order to allow their daughter a shot at the music industry. Working overtime as buskers, the Dad taking a day job on the side, while Karin's Mom (Elesija Volaric) negotiated with the smallest of record labels that she know that allowed Karin to demonstrate her vocal abilities. It wasn't until Karin was 19 years old, also working a day job, that she managed to secure a minor record deal. From there on, Karin worked in the shadow of the music industry primarily as a songwriter for other artists as well as a session artist, with her voice resonating in the background for many pop songs throughout her decade-long career. She recorded scant few albums as personal projects, but the income granted from being primarily a songwriter (the record label she signed wasn't enamored with her recorded music, but her submitted portfolio of lyrics was what allowed the deal to fall through) allowed Karin to provide for her family for the first time. It was the miracle deal, and it was what allowed Karin to subsist within the music industry until Karin entered her early 30s...

With many song credits to her name, Karin began to ponder her future in Izmeduan pop, and the record label she was signed to (ZvizdeZapis) was expressing rather palpable frustration with Karin's albums not quite going anywhere. Even Karin herself began to feel rather listless, with many of her more recent material being filed under 'a potential album' as well as an increased desire to attach her own name to her own lyrics, utilizing that voice that for a better part of a decade, had been hidden from the public. One song, “Redemption,” had continuously haunted her through the career crossroads process. It was a song laced with difficulty, a mishmash of feelings from her childhood that she has long repressed, to feeling ashamed of her roots, and overcoming the almost insurmountable challenges that the her label initially wrought upon her in her early years. The song was a revelation, a chance of healing in her life.

Karin did not know what compelled her to send the song to RTI and Izmepisma, but it was a decision that seemed to be rather well-judged. Now the Izmeduan entrant to WorldVision 52, Karin was put in a strange quandary as an artist who would be in late-stage pop career in her age. Her WorldVision entry was technically her debut single as a solo singer, the first time the name “Karin Volaric” would be eligible to chart that wasn't attached to an auxiliary as a songwriting or arrangement credit. She had been marked as the oldest Izmeduan contestant since Anthony Bernardini, all the way back from the debut. There was both an uncertainty and confidence surrounding the song, as well as the tried and true attention placed on Karin, which caused her to recede throughout the media blitz after her close win in Izmepisma.

There were days where she couldn't handle the pressure, and that pressure couldn't have been more greater than the moment before the performance. She never professed herself to be a stage performer, but WorldVision, to her, seemed like an entirely different beast of performance entirely. Karin took a few deep breaths before relaxing.

It's time... Make them proud, make Mom and Dad proud, they've waited to see this long to see their girl on stage, this is my chance, Karin thought, a sliver of a smile on her stage as she stepped on the stage.

Stage lights billowed down to the center stage of the Ignavi Auditorium, with Karin stationed at the smaller circular satellite stage. There was quite the deafening roar from the Izmeduan contingent, bolstered by Izmedu's recent success in the international stage (a podium finish last edition and now hosting the World Hit Festival). This cheer quieted down as the arena speakers began to play the first strains of the song, a haunting sound effect that can be described as some sort of otherworldly cry reverberated through the arena twice in the instrumental introduction. The camera made a slow survey through the Ignavi Auditorium's circular stage, with outlines of lights on the screens making a fake city skyline with red and white lights simulating traffic at the bottom. The camera faded to a close up view of Karin from the torso up, her looking down at the camera and revealing her to be wearing this outfit ensemble. With microphone to mouth, she began to pace towards the central circular stage with steps timed to the song's beat.

Found myself drowning, wading, losing
Sliding down to the pits, the chambers of regret

Her vocals were almost 'spoken,' each syllable timed to the beat as she walked towards the central stage, with the camera pulling backwards as a similar pace to her walking. The screens on the stage seemed to reflect the lyrics she was singing, with the lights blurring into images of a blank, ornate chamber that stood still, before fading back into the city background. The circular stage design only accentuated the emptiness of the initial lines, with Karin reaching the center stage by the end of the first verse's first half. The camera then pulled away and slowly spun around her for the first verse...

Running away from my failure
But even nothingness won't take humiliation
Guess I can't hide

The light palette in the Ignavi Auditorium for the rest of the first verse remained a sparse yellow to match the background screens, which began to form into a much more detailed city skyline consisting of impossibly tall skyscrapers, with lights flashing out random that represented the hourly nature of the virtual city. Karin began to take rhythmic, but unmoving steps as she was in her center position, her expression showing a complex countenance of a devil may care yet vulnerable suave, which was most apparent as the camera closed up on her face as she sung 'guess I can't hide.'

They say that failure is only a fleeting pain
We're all fated for disaster
There was a verity in those words that lingered
It is time to move on...

The spiral that was the centerpiece of the stage began to light up in a gradual white, before fading into lights that mirrored what was on the screens. During this hook, the camera focused briefly on the top of the spiral during the second line, displaying 'we're all fated for disaster' in a font that resembled a typewriter's typography, before fading to Karin for the rest of it. Karin began to step back as she belted out the last line, staring at the direction but not directly at the camera as it maintained a semi-distant angle from her. At each word of 'it is time to move on,' one spotlight (up to six of them) lit up individually at each sung syllable, before fading at the hook's very end...

Cause I'll fight for my redemption, oh
To reclaim my dignity, oh
Knowing that it's out of reach, oh
But I won't give in to cowardice
Or concede to loss

At the chorus' start, the Ignavi Auditorium was bathed in a dark blue hue of light as Karin began to groove to the new beats that were presented by the chorus. The blue atmosphere caused the urban background presented in the screens to become more detailed, with outlines of lights turning into photos that 'matched' each point of light. With the camera maintaining an angle that imposed the image of a lonely Karin in a big city, she passionately belted out the chorus' lyrics, almost to the point where her eyes were closed at some parts. She looked directly at the camera for the last two lines of the chorus' first half, as if saying to the audience the lyrics she wrote.

Oh
It might be in vain
Oh
I'll fight for my redemption
As my final deed

Karin unleashed a passionate vocalization of 'ohs' as the camera focused on a rather unique angle of her, catching a view of her singing up to the spiral (which was projecting a cloudy night sky), wordlessly pleading to the metaphorical heavens of her plight in redemption. At the end of the vocalizations, Karin looked down in contemplation as the camera rotated to view that look, maintaining a close angle as Karin sung the rest of the chorus with a similar conviction from before. At the end of the first chorus, the instrumentation softened as the Ignavi Auditorium's blue hue faded into a sparse white.

If I knew that pride would be my fall
Wisdom would've guided my heart from imbroglio
Now I'm just like those listless vagabonds
And the world traps me in this endless quagmire of hate
It's time to change...

The city background began the process of fading to black as the lights switched off one by one to the rhythmic beats within the second verse. The screens on the floor then began to present an image of a faded sidewalk, and thus Karin began to walk around the stage throughout this verse. The camera maintained a close angle of her throughout, placed at the center as she walked towards the screen that caused the camera to move backwards, looking up at the fading city skyline with an uncertain expression. She then sang to the closely fading screen for the rest of that verse, with Karin's expression turning grim at the fourth line of the verse, with the screens going completely blank. At the final line, traces of the line, 'it's time to change,' appeared at the spiral for only for a few seconds before vanishing. As if a perfect cue, Karin turned around to the audience, walking back with the total darkness (sans a few sparse white lights and a spotlight) surrounding her.

They say that failure is only a fleeting pain
We're all fated for disaster
There was a verity in those words that lingered
It is time to move on...

Despite the melancholy of the earlier verse, Karin ramped up her vocals in preparation of the chorus. She walked towards the audience with steps that matched the rhythm of the beat during the hook, before beginning to crouch down in contemplation. Her hand touched the floor screen as she looked down, the camera rotating around her head as she looked down during 'it is time to move on,' with her vocals piercing through the Ignavi Auditorium. Orange and blue lights, timed to two big beats in preparation of the chorus, beat down on the center of the stage...

Cause I'll fight for my redemption, oh
To reclaim my dignity, oh
Knowing that it's out of reach, oh
But I won't give in to cowardice
Or concede to loss
Oh
It might be in vain
Oh
I'll fight for my redemption
As my final deed

The city background appeared again during this chorus as the instrumentation roared ot life, this time against the backdrop of an early dawn. The skyline was framed with a dark blue sky with tinges of yellow radiating throughout the buildingd. Karin, now standing up, began to take much more active movements around the stage as shr to passionately mfr body motions at each 'oh,' moving from stage left to stage right at opportune moments. This allowed Karin to mirror the screen behind her, as the pivotal backdrop of the performance was moving alongside her, with skyscrapers moving like conveyor belts. The camera maintained a mix of close up and pan shots, with a moment of Karin unleashing a big vocalization of 'ohs' that involved the camera fading to a rather large view of the stage, emphasizing the scale of Karin's loneliness against the urban backdrop as she belted out her notes. The camera faded to a close up of Karin, a beleaguered but determined expression on her face as she sang 'I'll fight for my redemption' with a quiet conviction.

For the wordless bridge, the camera simply did a slow survey of the whole stage, focusing first on wide stage angles before moving into the stage. Karin began to move freely to the vibe of the song as the city skyline still moved throughout the screen. The camera made a rotation around Karin as her arms were spread out, before she put the microphone to her mouth in preparation for the final reprise...

Truth is: this shame won't fade
Cause I'll fight for my redemption, oh
To reclaim my dignity, oh
Knowing that it's out of reach, oh
But I won't give in to cowardice

The Ignavi Auditorium was now illuminated in an inchoate mixture of blue and white lights as the background was instantly removed in the snap of a second at the chorus' start, replaced with a gray background with very faint outlines of the skylines. The city was in pure darkness as the only light sources that were emanating from the Auditorium is the lone spotlight on Karin and the spiral displaying these lyrics as they are sung... Karin launched herself into the chorus with intense fervor, passionately belting out her fight for redemption through eye contact with the camera and singing directly to the audience.

If I don't relent
Can I be redeemed?...

Karin stopped moving at the start of the penultimate line, as the camera remained static and faded to a view of her face. She sang 'can I be redeemed' with a lost expression, asking the question to the viewer at home as a parting vocal as the instrumentation calmed to a haunting chamber vocal-like sound. As that dominated the soundscape, one of the spotlights on Karin faded as all one could see is an outline of her face... The mournful sound continued on even after the vocal was over, as the camera remained static, showing only Karin bowing her head. At the sound's conclusion, the Ignavi Auditorium was consumed in total darkness...

There was a huge crowd cheer as the Ignavi Auditorium was now in normal light configuration after a few seconds. Karin looked up to a mouth small wow, surprise clearly visible in her expression.

“Thank... Thank you Langtree!” Karin said, walking backstage as she waved to the crowd.

Miles: Thank You to the Karin Volaric from Izmedu, tonight's 21st and final song!

Petra: So, ladies and gentleman, those are tonight's performances and now we hand the baton to you at home. After the voting is finished, which will take about seven days, we will find ourselves a new winner of the WorldVision Song Contest.

Miles: So, without any further ado, the lines are now...open!

*RECAP*

Petra: There we go! You can vote for your favourite nation using the number onscreen now or by using the WorldVision App. You can vote up to twenty time but you cannot vote for your own nation, it's that simple.

Miles: Thank You Petra. Now, if you cast your mind back to WorldVision 50, what do you remember? a Polkopian victory? a 33-song marathon? the best non-interval interval song in WorldVision history? Well, if you said the last one then you'd be correct.

Petra: That's right! Here he is performing his hit song here on the WorldVision stage, it's the one, the only Mr Danny DingDong!!

*audience applause*

Interval Act
Danny DingDong & The Bikini Babes - Are You Ready For The Voting?
Tune: X-Factor - Proud Mary

Danny DingDong stands in the middle of the stage in blackness with only him being illuminated on the stage. While singing, he spots a couple of his fans and chooses to wave at them, causing him to stop singing (because he can't multitask). He restarts at the end of the verse.

I wrote a good song for WorldVision.
(Langtree)
Working very hard every night and day
And I put a load of blood, sweat and tears.
That meant I achieved... the big 21st place.

Some scantily clad bikini babes walk onto the stage and accompany him. He begins to sway his hips as he sings the lyrics. The bikini babes sway their hips as they add their vocals to the performances. The babes sing the last line before everything starts to get crazy.

Normandy's table-toppin'
And Darkmania keeps on floppin'
Are you ready? (ooo) ready? (ooo) ready for the voting?
THE VOTING!

The beat kicks in and all of the performers on stage begin to dance, with plenty of spinning and pelvic thrusts occurring, sparks fly from the stage as the screen shows past moments of previous WVs. Danny goes behind the curtain and comes out wearing a sloppy remake of Mini Surrey-North's afro, while the bikini babes bring out different coloured trumpets (an homage to Polkopia's 'Not Me'). Danny moves to the front of the stage to sing the second verse.

Some of these votes are suspicious
In the end the best songs always wins
I bet that we give 5 points to Mercedini
And then we'll get 5 points in return!

Danny begins to march on the spot while the bikini baes throw their trumpets to one side and join him. The camera shows a group of Cosneoltan fans, who are going ballistic, crying and fanning their faces all at the same time. The screen begins to show moment from more recent WVs, as Danny waves to the audience to keep get up of their arses and boogie.

Gertrude keeps on 'singing'
Rick Leg, he's entertaining.
Ready? (ready) Ready? (ready) Ready for the voting?
Ready? (ready) Ready? (ready) Ready for the voting?

As they sing the 'toots' the run across the stage with high-knees in time with the lyrics, Danny takes his afro off and tosses it into the crowd, then he does the can-can. The camera zooms from the back of the stage to the front to show the fans waving their flags frantically in time with the beat.

Do-Do-Toot-Toot-Toot
Toot-Toot-Toot-Toot
Toot-Toot-Toot-Toot

One of the bikini babes step forward to sing her big note. Before retreating back into the crowd of performers who are still high-knees-ing their way across the stage.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

The performers then form a conga line around the stage with Danny at the front, who is doing the train action to the camera as they zip round the stage. The camera goes back to the Cosneoltan fans and it shows that half of them have already fainted, the rest have drenched faces from all of the tears they are shedding. The camera moves back on stage to follow the conga line, Danny sings his lyrics as he sings into the camera.

I've seen a lot of things in WorldVision
Like Vera Slapiski, who should be on a Christmas tree
Kinan al-Salmaan is still singing for Adab
Does that guy even know when to quit?

Danny breaks the conga line and then moves to the front of the stage, the bikini babes move parallel with him at the front and independently dance and clap to the beat of the song. Danny begins to pelvic thrust while pointing into the camera (obviously causing several piles of vomit to appear on floors across the multi-verse).

Newbies make it greater
Will their points make a new winner?
You ready? Ready? You Ready for the voting?
Are you ready? You ready? Ready for the voting?

The group of performers begin to 'high-knees' their way across the stage once again. The screen now begins to show all of the flags that have participated in WorldVision in the past 52 editions. Danny stands in the centre of the stage while the bikini babes circle him (which is perfectly caught by the overhead camera).

Do-Do-Toot-Toot-Toot
Toot-Toot-Toot-Toot
Toot-Toot-Toot-Toot

Danny gives the opportunity to some of the bikini babes to sing, as the each take turns to stand as the front of the stage and sing their part of the song. Strobing begins from the stage, with a curtain of sparks beginning from the back of the stage. Some of the bikini babes that aren't singing have let off a bunch of flairs and are waving them. More pelvic thrusting occurs before the final note of the song.

Ready, Ready, Ready for the voting?
I said Are you ready? (ready) Ready? (ready) Ready for the voting?
Yeah, WOO!

As all of the performers sing the final note together. Fireworks, sparks and fire all fly from the stage with the lights strobing so much that they would give a normal person epilepsy.

Yeah!!!

The screen at the back shows the WorldVision logo. Danny roots in his pocket and tosses a handful of gold confetti and lets it fall on him, then larger cannon shoot even more confetti into the audience. The performers hug each other 'Thanks Mercedini, Are You Ready For The Voting!!!!!'. The camera shoots to the group of Cosneoltan fans, who are all being treated by paramedics after they all fainted at the sight of them seeing their favourite Cosneoltan singer. The group of performers walk off stage before transitioning to the next singer

The camera cuts to Miles & Petra who are standing behind a podium bearing the WorldVision logo

Miles: Thank You Danny DingDong, fighting to stay relevant after all this time...

Petra: Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, it's decision time. People from across the multiverse have voted and now it's time to see who you have chosen as your next champion. Remember, every participating nation will be giving their points to their Top-10 favourite songs.

Miles: Each nation will give 12 points to their favourite song, then 10 points to their second favourite, 8 to their third favourite and 7 down to 1 for 4th to 10th. It's simple WorldVision tradition!!

Petra: Spokespeople. Are You Ready?!

*every spokesperson appears on the screen and waves*

Petra: Audience. Are You Ready?!

*audience cheers*

Petra: Okay then, Here we go! We won't have to travel far as our first nation is Mercedini!. Hello Sam, may we have your points, please?...

Commentary on MRX ONE with Robert Baxter and Sam Smith.

Robert: Welcome back. Not long to go now. But the interval act will probably drag on until the middle of next week, as usual.

19 Zeganas

Robert: Well, it's not bad, I guess.
Sam: I got bored of that after a minute or so.
Robert: Well, with so few entries tonight, that's not the worst we've heard, so it's probably going to get some points.
Sam: Yes, but if that beats us I will be... well, not very happy, to put it mildly. Anyway, it's a knife if you couldn't tell.

20 Ethane

Robert: Oh my sweet lord and Thatcher. I thought that was never going to start!
Sam: The violin just went on and on and on and on and on and on and--
Robert: Yeah, OK, we get the point. You're now going on ad infinitum. The viewers just had to sit through one round of tediousness. Don't make them do that again.
Sam: I only have four letters. D, U, double L: dull. Plum.

21 Izmedu

Sam: Well, I'm afraid I'm going to have to turn my microphone off, because [bleep] Izmedu are going to stop us from [bleep] winning yet a-[bleep]ing-gain.
Robert: Izmedu, Polkopia, and Kalosia. Some things never change. If one of those wins again we should just give up. No point competing against this lot.
Sam: What's worse is I didn't even like the song but I know others will. Izmedu always enter jam and they end up in the top 10. Honestly.

Robert: And here's a quick recap of all 20 songs and their softness ratings:

01 Darkmania
02 Missus X

03 Cosneolta
04 Polkopia
05 Krytenia
06 Todlichebujoku
07 Tomikosan
08 Kalosia

09 Normandy and Picardy
10 Kannap
11 Ardoki
12 Adab
13 Estogium

14 Mitoland
15 Electrum
16 Mercedini

17 Electrum Diplomatic Offices
18 Mister X
19 Zeganas

20 Ethane
21 Izmedu

Sam: That is:

2 plums,
3 jams,
2 butters,
3 breads,
10 knives
.

This is The Doctor. President-elect of the High Council of Time Lords. Keeper of the legacy of Rassilon. Defender of the laws of time. Protector of Gallifrey. I call upon you to surrender the Hand of Omega, and return to your customary time and place!

I rather thought of entering this contest myself, you know! With the old spoons! Ace is rolling her eyes at me.

Time's champion, and a few other things, so let's not delay. Absence makes the nose grow longer. Time and tide melts the snowman!

Here comes a list of numbers and nations, which probably mean something to someone but certainly nothing to me.

1 - Missus X. Yes, well, Rick Leg's choices are certainly. But every action has a reaction. A consequence. Could you live with the sort of decisions he makes?

2 - Electrum Diplomatic Offices. Something tells me the Mister Xian public aren't taking this seriously.

3 - Adab. Ah, that seems to be more like it. Nice of the happiness patrol to leave us alone for a minute or two, eh?

4 - Cosneolta. Well, you see, I would have got more points with the spoon solo, but Ace wouldn't let us go there, and after the escapades with the psychic circus, I can't seem to persuade her to go anywhere she doesn't want to these days. Oh well.

5 - Mercedini. You've been very welcoming. Shame about the food. And the song. And everything else. But we're polite customers, aren't we, Ace? Delicious, sir/madam/non-binary gender, delicious!

6 - Zeganas. Well, Ace, often these things have a habit of looking out for themselves.

7 - Tomikosan. Time has flowed by, and other songs have been left behind.

8 - Todlichebujoku. The song was a bit of a bull in a barber shop, but they seemed to like it.

10 - Kalosia. Wicked.

12 - Electrum. Ace, TARDIS key... you can always wait for me there if you don't like it...

Nope, apparently Ace has a telecast of her own to make. I'll see you in the future. Or is that the past?

RVC Commentary

Commentary with Amedeo Arjan!

Hello, and welcome to the 52nd Worldvision Song Contest; 19 editions since we debut at the contest under the name North Britonisea - but of course now, we are Estogium! The contest has moved away from Kasin, from Kyvivre, and now we head to Langtree - who totally messes up any of the charms we had going on! Arioslavia could've hosted, Normandy and Picardy blah blah...

Opening Act
Right, I am not sure whether I enjoyed that or not. I know that this opening song is quite jolly and happy, but I don't really think that this contest is going through happy times - I think the Opening Act should be about subjects like "Welcome to" because you can just get the hosts to say "Welcome," Nevertheless, the singing and the staging is awesome; like many of their entries. I didn't expect to go to Mercedini, you know. I thought Mister X would've hosted, it's been 19 editions since they last hosted, and that is quite a long time! Good to a new nation hosting for once, though. Oh and to the host, the "homo" joke is way too old, let's remember that everyone is welcome to go! Up first we have Darkmania...great...

01. Darkmania
Can Darkmania just sing in another language, I'm sure Afrikaans would sound quite good. I just think this is quite a silly performance, and for a nation who has been in the contest for quite some time, they should really get serious about starting to move themselves up the leaderboard and not harbouring the bottom spot from Missus X. Darkmania, please send a good song to the World Hit Festival at least, which our region is dominating by the way - the last three wins were ours! Anyway, speaking of the devil, let's go Missus X!

02. Missus X
What a bad start to the contest so far, outdated "happy" songs. I did enjoy the song beat, but I did not enjoy the staging and the amount of swearing - and I think Darkmania will not be getting last place, and this is reserved for this nation. Why did Mercedini allow this performance to happen so early in the competition? OFCOM is going to be lit up by the amount of complaints they receive tonight! Right, up next we have... Cosneolta!

03. Cosneolta
Okay, this is where the competition starts - but certainly not how it ends, or how it should end. What does the line, "My coffee's cold, in my cup" have to do with anything? Like, okay! Your coffee is cold, go and make yourself a new one! Other than that, the staging is great - the singing is good, and compared to the other two songs that we heard, this definitely is better than both of them, by a long shot. Next up is Polkopia; who totally dissed the 51st WorldVision Song Contest in Kyvivre for economic issues...sure.

04. Polkopia
Well, Polkopia always sends entries which have the potential to be in the top 10...Now, I am not sure about this song. I quite like it, but it doesn't give me anything. It doesn't really capture me. I don't like the middle part of the song with the drums, but I guess that's personal opinion. Other than that, a more explorative entry from the Polkopian delegation this edition! It's Krytenia up next!

05. Krytenia
I like it, Krytenia. My favourite of the night so far. Like song 1 and 2, this song is quite fun - but this is fun in a good way, and that is all you want in a competition. The stage directions could have been a bit more...interesting...but the singing was alright, but the song...the song was great! I loved every moment of it. The audience screaming. Krytenia is an odd nation as they come in and out all the time, so I don't really have the time to analyse their tactics/antics. Good performance, Krytenia. Next up we have Todlichebujoku; another nation who mysteriously didn't come to WV51.

06. Todlichebujoku
Sounds like a song that Arioslavia would send, and this song is not my favourite tonight. I think the song ruins it, it's too much for my dainty little ears to take, I don;t really like it - I am sorry. Staging is good as usual, and the lyrics are top-notch, so that's not something to moan about - it's just the song which ruins it for me. This song is not for me, at all. However, I do think that Todlichebujoku will get some points - just because they are Todlichebujoku.

I think that so far, the average level of the entries so far is...average. Apart from Krytenia, there is nothing here that captures me by the neck, strangles me and demands me to vote for it. If I had to pick three nations to vote from this nations who just performed, it would be probably Krytenia, Polkopia and Cosneolta. Some new nation, Tomikosan, is going to sing next...Song number 7.

07. Tomikosan
This a difficult song to judge because, because, the tune is just not good. The singing is just not singing. But, I really enjoy what is happening on stage. Tomikosan, for a debut entry, this was good; certainly better than Estogium's first entry, Dotty Rag Girl - who was very bad...very bad. I see them getting some points from Estogium's jury. Estogium may like this song, but then again, they like more modern entries - and modern this is not. Kalosia, come on, give us something good.

08. Kalosia
Okay, this will probably get some points from Estogium; the entry is quite good. The staging is a bit sparse in comparison to their other entries - which is a bit sad, but Kalosia will hopefully do better next edition. EVE could do very well in Langtree, so I wish them bonne chance in the voting; I see some points going their way! Well done! Next up, Normandy and Picardy.

09. Normandy & Picardy
Those in Normandy and Picardy were not the only ones to wonder how Normandy and Picardy won last edition. I honestly think the host or Izmedu should've nudged the win. The song was quite popular in Britonisea, so that's probably just me. This song...if they win this time, LOL. I love, love, love, their staging and their language. I love both of it very much - but the song is just...boring. I actually felt a bit tired, and it's the 9th performance. Lovely, moving performance - but like Todlichebujoku - it is not for me.

10. Kannap
This song is nice, I like this song - it was sweet! Beautiful woman singing this song. It kinda reminds me of Electrum's entry a few editions back; that was a quite sweet, and this reminds me of it. Similar to the other songs, the staging is pretty basic - and maybe that is because of what Mercedini is offering, but it seems as though all of these entries are just putting something together - just for the sake of performing; and hoping you will win. Kannap, that was alright. Next is Ardoki.

11. Ardoki
No. No. No. We are tired of hearing how awesome Ardoki is! It really isn't. Jesus, let's just move on... Don't know I decided to commentate this edition to be honest, extra pay, maybe?

12. Adab
ADAB JUST NEEDS TO WIN, OKAY! When I participated in the contest as apart of Britonisea, I got to meet with this guy; he is so nice! The lyrics are golden, and the song is actually not bad, unlike the techno-rubbish songs that have once featured in the contest, but seems to be making a comeback. THIS SONG IS GREAT! So, calm, and nice. And it is a great build up to Estogium's entry!

13. Estogium
I am sorry, but this is one of the best tonight - and far exceed some of the bland entries that we have had tonight. This was full of energy, and there were some messages that were not supposed to gotten right at the start, this is for you to think about them - and blah blah blah. I don't see the OBL at the end agreeing with anyone - but what is the problem with expressing our own language! This song has been doing fairly well in the Nyx Charts; let's hope that this translates in to the voting, however, sources tell me that Estogium has something good coming up for their 20th anniversary - so let's not get too disappointed if this song scores badly. Overall, it's a different song, something more unique - and it's something that we needed. Next up is Mito- wait? They were disqualified? Oh well, let's go to Electrum!
