Oh my God, I can't do this. If that fool hadn't brought up how much he sucks with finding female compatriots, we could've avoided this. Sobbing didn't feel like the answer, but it came out anyway. If only Faye had just told me what I did wrong instead of just abandoning me!

There he stood for a few moments, sobbing, but the Selkie around him made wide bearths around him.
All - except one.
Brigadier Eitil approached with a worried expression, the eyes showing concern. "Hey, there - everything alright?" Dumb question., she admitted in her thoughts, before she continued, fumbling a tissue out of her pocket and offering it to the man. "Where're Faye and Kiah? And why are you crying?"

Kujanaero took the tissue, wiping his face slowly. "I don't know, ma'am. I don't know at all. I don't know what I said to Faye, but, something I said upset her and now she's gone off. God help me if she's out there by herself with all those creepy foreigners!"

A Selkie entered the ring from one side: Ilia Alhajin of the Tribe of Galway. A relatively tall fellow, white hair, well-trimmed beard, blue eyes and dark skin. Broad and massive shoulders, and a body to match. His armour was not a Selkie one, but one of his father's people, as Alhajin was a half-Kyrenaian. Lamellar armour above a mail-shirt, long sleeves and vambraces of steel, gloves to match, heavy leather boots and a wide belt of cloth, which also held a slimmer belt woven into it.
On it, his sword rested in its sheath, a scimitar of his people, nearly a metre in length, with a handle of ivory, finely carved, while the blade had a slight curve in it.
There were cheers for the nearly famous man, who was more known for his hobby then for his actual occupation.

Anni noticed some kind of scene being made in another part of the tournament field, but paid it no more than of few moments of her attention. Probably some other competitor making a show of their victory, or maybe taking their defeat a little roughly.

"Well, he looks big." said Oliver, raising his brows as he watched the new opponent enter the field. "Looks like that war hero, the Fremmedlegionen that fought off all those insurgents in Arabia or whatever. Hell of a story, that was." Anni nodded - she had heard of it. The government loved to saturate their media with stories of military valour, especially when it was a foreigner fighting for the Fascistisk cause. "That it was, Ollie. I wonder who he's fighting?"

Martyne listened carefully, "it's a good life, my sister works for a ferry company, a bit different from what my mum does, however I'm firmly planted on the ground", says Martyne before turning to Holly, "why not set up a small operation here?"

Holly thinks for a moment, "I could, it's something I'd have to look into, labour laws vehicle regulations, can I run doubles or not, team driving, working time directives etc, then there's acquiring the assets and staff. Running in Ganos Lao sanctuary was interesting though" Holly then reaches over and takes a titbit of food from. The hamper and smiles with approval before eating the snack

Tyran reached into one of his many pockets and pulled out a small business card.
"That's my Dad's.", he said, handing it out to Holly, "He always gives me one so that I have his office's phone number, but I know it by hard by now. He can help you a bit, if you want it, both with the legal aspects and with getting to know people." He leaned over to whisper to her in a conspiratory tone. Eitil nodded solemly.
"Then let's go.", she said with her mouth in a firm line, fumbling something out of her pocket, "About that unpleasant conversation partner, let's get Faye found first and see about that one later."
The device in her hand was a small smart phone, where she took a moment to get it to do, what she wanted it to do - clearly, she was used to cell phones with buttons. Or radios, but that was another question. She lifted the device to her ear, motioning Kujanaero to follow her with her other hand as she waited for the other end of the line to pick up.
Her expression brightened a bit as that indeed happened. "It's me, Leonard. Small thing, Kiah Bairnéad - you have her within reach? ... Good, keep her there. If her Mom shows up, tell her to wait for me. ... No, nothing too serious, I hope. Just... Thanks. See you in a bit."
The older woman hung up and stored her phone back in her pocket.
"Alright then...", she told the Krugeristani, "Let's go."

Holly took the card with a polite Smile and placed it in her wallet, "thanks" she says. "So what kind of ship you looking at joining, bunker, container ship, tanker?" She asks, pulling her small phone out of her pocket and havino tapped the screen a few times brings up an in cab video looking out of the windscreen of a truck on a very frozen road from a head mounted camera
"This is my country in the pre summer last year" says Holly as a glance at the temperature display says -24c "behind the truck were 2 trailers, it was interesting" says Holly

"I can imagine.", Tyran said with a firm nod, "I actually would love to captain a Pattern 2-5-3, they're dry bulk carriers, which can be used for a certain variety of jobs as well - wouldn't be the first vessel I work on."
He made a small pause, reaching for the picknick basket and taking out a sandwich with ham.
"I worked as a powder monkey on one of the Guild's escort vessels when I was eleven during the summer holidays.", he explained, "The Scéal, an old torpedo boat repurposed as an escort vessel against pirates. The crew was awesome, but it got very cold - we travelled to the Northern Islands. The whole boat was frozen over, nothing worked up there, so we were sent out with heavy hammers to smash the ice. The convoy we escorted was intended for Reoite, one of the most northern settlements of the Free Lands, which had been hit particularly hard by the winter that year and the Guild feared pirate attacks. Luckily, nothing happened except our fight against the ice, but... it was an experience. We took back a cargo of different ores like you wouldn't believe!"

"And it will be a good show. Colonel Alhajin fights completely different to how Selkie usually fight and seeing people react to that... it's always good. He's known for going to all SDF-soldiers participating and telling them, that they are free to fight to their fullest, because if they fear to fight him, they are useless - if he gets the feeling, that someone is holding back, he's noted down and kept an eye on." Holly nodded, "a couple of settlements we have can only be reached by road in winter as their cove is cut off during summer, as such we wait for the rivers to freeze and then drive on them. A thousand kilometers south and its quite temperate as. Further south around Rai'lal city and it's pleasant year round as well which is nice. Me and Isis are locals of the Burg, but ive been to Khayr Var which is a tropical island paradise"

Marty turned to face Holly, who was at this stage taking a snack out of the hamper and giving it to Bobby, "Jan Mayen is nice too very touristy" says Marty as Holly chipped in ", touristy apart from the deep geological store. Exactly how far under is that place?"

"He tried to be nice.", Eitil told him with a smile, "It's the thought, that matters. And Virgil is a hard-working man, blacksmith by occupation, so don't judge him that easily. Besides...", she added, "...from what I heard about Krugeristanis and their laws, I'd be working on the oil fields as well."

"Volcanoes, I take it?", Tyran asked and Gwen confirmed, "They're fun. Ever seen Mount Kilanda?" He grinned. "Not only an active volcano, but also a holy place to both us and the Lutetiians, where their Great Guardian lives and where for us Taom has his court, the Court of Wonders. The island has a small settlement, a few dozen people, scientists and religious people mostly, a few temples being tended to by the latter. Every year, the Lutetiians have a pilgramage to the volcano, to a certain cave at its foot, to be specific, where they bring offerings to appease the volcano, so that he may not destroy them as he did with Concavi - you would call it an Atlantis-lookalike, but thing is... Concavi exists... or rather existed, as the case may be."

The Selkie wrote:"I haven't had a go yet, but I'll fight...", Kayla explained and looked at her sheet, "Faye Donn of the Tribe of Wexford. Should be fun!" She grinned, as she, too sat down in the grass. "And it will be a good show. Colonel Alhajin fights completely different to how Selkie usually fight and seeing people react to that... it's always good. He's known for going to all SDF-soldiers participating and telling them, that they are free to fight to their fullest, because if they fear to fight him, they are useless - if he gets the feeling, that someone is holding back, he's noted down and kept an eye on." Kayla made a face. "He's very strict with his people, stricter then General Niochan."

"They sing songs of the best Field Marshals, heroes of the Kombihæren. I don't think I've ever heard of one that was noted for his easygoing nature in regards to men under their arms, though." Oliver gave a massive shrug. "I suppose you don't have a lot of lazy sods with no discipline in their body reaching that sort of rank. I think the only reason I reached Visekorporal was the mandatory service."

Anni laughed. "You think? I know. Oliver would never last in the military. He's got too much love for the finer things in life." With a grin still on her face, she turned to watch the General preparing in the ring again. "Faye Donn, eh? She any good?"

"Really?" Kujanaero was a little confused. Aside from Krugeristan's long-standing no-females-in-the-military, he didn't see any reason for Eitil to be working in oil fields. She was a nice enough person when they met . . .

Then again, he could be wrong.

"How come?" he asked.

"I'm divorced.", Eitil said with no remorse, pity or any negative emotion at all in her voice, "Twice actually, partly my fault in one case, in the other his fault - though he did not have a bit on the side. And neither did I." She sighed, making it clear, that she was not really willing to discuss it in much detail. "Add in, that I do enjoy the occassional glass of red wine with a good book and a good whiskey with pleasant company from time to time and I guess, that I'd be working the oil fields if I were a Krugeristani."

"I'm not an expert in law and punishment, but, working in the oil fields is least of what you'd have to worry about," Kujanaero said. "Some divorce cases can carry a less severe punishment of sterilization--however the methods of such can be quite barbaric and done so purposefully."

Eitil frowned.
"And I stand corrected.", she said in a dry tone, before she turned and asked while still walking to the petting zoo: "Tell me, though, what would net me such a punishment? Me being divorced?"

Marty chuckled, "no no no, not volcanoes, we have 3 of those in the country, Mount Sula'm'buru and Mount Halvaar in the north-east along with Mount Diablo which last erupted in biblical times but its summit crater has a hot lake in it which at sixty degrees its too hot to swim in, whether Dibby blows again is anyones guess as there has not been any activity there in two and a half thousand years other than the hot lake. The deep Geological store is where our nuclear industry stores its spent fuel that can not be reprocessed, its actually quite warm down there and the blast doors are to keep any fire and debris inside the store area and since its opening in the sixties there has been no incident that registers in the nuclear event scale, and yes its big, VERY big with a warren of tunnels under there" she says, "I can't say how many people work there or the amount of fuel and material stored there, and South Sands Energy won't tell you even if you asked them and the place is not signposted, its just an un named road off a highway that has a big heavy gate across it. Near it is the Jan Mayen power station but in Khayr Ad'Din there is the old RBMK power station which is being decomissioned, all the fuel from there went to the DGS as it can not be used in any other power station. After Chernobyl they had to modify the reactors but in twenty thirteen the decision was made to close the plant. Older gas cooled Magnox types are still running though"
