We once again find ourselves questioning the effectiveness of authoritarian governance, given its repeated failure to provide the security upon which it stakes its claim to legitimacy. If authoritarian measures cannot protect the people as they claim to, what is the purpose of authoritarian control? The answer is simple: authoritarian governments serve the interests of a select group of elites at the expense of the people. Their measures are not to further the collective good, but rather to enrich themselves and preserve their positions of power. Such governments are illegitimate, acting in defiance of the collective will, and must be abolished, even if they claim to be of a socialist nature.|⇧ UPVOTE| |⇩ DOWNVOTE| |REPLY|
