Not all religious people are nutjobs. Some people just use religion as an excuse to hate, and a lot of these people would probably be just as hateful without it.
I wouldn’t say there aren’t any deities, far from it. At the very least there are some supernatural or metaphysical forces, which I am proof of... er, not going to say why right now though.
I wish I had a fedora. It probably wouldn’t go well with my kimono, though...

Foreign Minister Na to run in place of Kasuga

Leading into the holidays, the news that Dirigeant Arata Kasuga would not be running again for re-election was both surprising and unsurprising. On one hand, you can easily see the signs as Kasuga is a young man who never really had career politician aspirations. He saw some issues with his home and sought to be in a position to rectify those things. From Kasuga's perspective, it's a job well done. Whether critiques at home or abroad may not agree on it being a job well done, the traditionalists in Kirishima have celebrated his efforts on increasing the role of the Korean language, protecting/restoring Kirishinan sexuality and promoting better social cohesion. The real surprise was the timing of it before the holiday, while it met the deadline the announcement came relatively last minute. Opposition parties were selecting their candidates who were preparing for Kasuga. It is unclear whether that was an intentional political tactic.

Nevertheless, a press conference at the Kokumin Ginkai last night saw Foreign Minister Na Sung-Gi announced as the Jeongtongdang Party candidate for the upcoming elections. After days of debating and battling it out, the party ultimately decided to go with Na who was confirmed at the conference to be Kasuga's pick. Now we were informed by party leaders that they wanted to be sure whoever was selected was up to task considering that in their first election following dissolving the Coalition Party, the ruling party lost seats in the legislative elections. While this may be a result of coalition members who did not fit the new party defecting or losing seats, the ruling party seems to be taking the matter seriously.

Dirigeant Kasuga remarked that he was thrilled that Minister Na was receptive to running for office. Kasuga felt that Na had what it take to continuing growing the party in his stead and leading the nation in a way that he could be proud of. Should the Jeontongdang Party end up winning in the national election, Minister Na would be the first Korean head of government since Emperor Yahalo/Yahata the Great (r.1712-1770). Na while having experience in diplomacy also fits the identity of the party Kasuga formed which at first glance can be reassuring for those supportive of the Dirigeant's social and cultural views.

The biggest reveal, however, was Na announcing that he already had a running mate in mind. The sole H.E.S.L Coalition representative to have come from Slavyansk, Alisa Dmitrievna Lissova. OPINION POLL: NATIONAL SALVATION MAINTAINS DECISIVE LEAD GOING INTO 2020

Madrigal, Carloso - Today's RTC/InfoReal opinion poll, the first of 2020, indicates that National Salvation maintains its huge lead over opposition parties. 55.3% of respondents, from a sample size of 5,000, said they would give their first preference vote to a National Salvation candidate. 20.4% said they would vote for the Conservative Party, followed by the Democratic Party at 11.1%, Socialist Republicans at 7.8%, Synarchist Union at 0.9% and Communist Party at 0.4%. As Green Alternative does not have any seats in the National Assembly, it does not meet the criteria to be included in the poll but is believed to make up a considerable chunk of people who expressed their preference for other parties and independents. The poll was conducted from 13 January to 17 January, with a proportional sample of eligible voters from every province. The question asked was, "A general election for the National Assembly of Carloso is scheduled for 11 November 2020. To which party, if any, do you plan to give your first preference vote to?"

Arata Kasuga-san will forever remain one of most skilled Kirishinan leaders in terms of his efficiency in foreign policy. He was directly responsible for deconfliction in Guadalan Region, signing the peace treaty between conflicting parties, as well as building the stable and friendly relationships between the Empire of Greater Nifon and the Republic of Kirishima.

As such, I would officially want to announce that it's my intention to visit Kirishima before the election, and visit Kasuga-san, as well as meet with the canditates. Hello, Setsuzoku! It has been some time since I last logged on here, but I see that not much has changed, and the reactionaries are still out in force. Well, I suppose it was inevitable really. Still, I can content myself with dissecting and debunking their dogmatism.

Firstly, @ronanmaherNS has made a few interesting statements. He has attacked 'international finance capitalism' and 'butcher Marxism', and while I suppose I could theoretically agree with him on the former, such terminology coming from a reactionary tends to be less about combating inequality and exploitation, and more about antisemitic dog-whistling. Of course, I cannot prove that the esteemed Mr. Maher is indeed an antisemite, but I think that the possibility should be kept in mind. The reference to 'butcher Marxism' is of course a typical fascist screed. His next statement, denouncing 'secularists', is indicative of the fundamentalist nature of his ideology, one that places unquestioning obedience to a fictional entity as the highest of virtues. His claim that there are 'no alternatives' is a smokescreen designed to delude people by convincing them that they already agree with him.

His next statement is more interesting, in the it begins with him actually making a correct statement about the abhorrent effects of wage-slavery, but then quickly spirals off into more deceit and delusion. His reference to the 'red fascist climate agenda' indicates that he has either fallen for corporate propaganda or is in fact a propaganda mouthpiece himself, and betrays a far more serious 'anti-human agenda' than the one he describes. His third and final reference in this sentence is to the 'destruction of national and cultural identity', a classic fascist stock phrase and one particularly favoured by the more modern incarnations. He fails to recognise that cultures are not static, they shift over time, and their identity naturally changes. You might as well try and hold back the tide. And of course, his last line praises Glorious Leader Tobón, the only man who can save Carloso from the international conspiracy arrayed against it. Perhaps NS stands less for National Salvation, and more for National Socialist.

Not to be outdone, @Suzumebachi of Nifon has shared with us his views on human nature. The underlying misanthropy associated with his claims that humanity is fundamentally evil is concerning in of itself, but thankfully he has elected to reveal the solution: follow the teachings of Jesus Christ! Of course, should we submit ourselves to the words of a two thousand year old book, we shall surely be able to defy our evil natures! We should follow the example of the Apostles in the Book of Acts and hold all things in common, and distribute our wealth to all, as any had need. Except, of course, that would communism, and we couldn't have that now could we? No, we must adhere to the correct teachings of Christ, the ones that advocate for nationalism, a dictatorial state, and an economy that favours profit, or perhaps nebulous concept of 'the nation' or 'race', over people. Jesus was famously an advocate of all these things, and Nifon has admirably executed his christofascist vision.

You know what, so is Marxism. What is the teaching of the Archenemy if not a modern day religion - to use the Archenemy's words "opium for the people"? It has it's own dogma, saints, soteriology and eschatology, which sadly has no connection to reality.

Furthermore, I am going to argue that as much as man's tendency to pervert religion is a given, human beings naturally need some system of control, otherwise everything would have fallen appart. If you want to see what happens when human beings have no control - look at Somalia. Existence of religion in public life, though never completely able to eliminate vice, is often a capable restraint for the tsumi that naturally exist in mankind.

@Suzumebachi I love watching people like you and @Shi Zhou and @RealBlueVictoria argue, because you're all so fucking arrogant, unwilling to entertain any ideas but your own.

For the record, as an aside, to my knowledge @AlbertPickman does not use any mind-altering kinds of substances, and even if he did he'd be fine. We treat addiction like a disease here, so it's honestly easy for a person who needs it to get help instead of just trying to hide it because they have to worry about being thrown in a prison cell.
