@ThePredDoc I've done my own research regarding "Flatworm Theory" and "Bad Genes" - and I've come up with none. You seem to be forwarding theories of the evolutionary paradox as to why homosexuality exists in mankind even if such a trait does not produce any viable offspring - and those theories just don't have much evidence backing them up. It's already been widely observed and researched among non-human animals, and you may as well want to look at the gay uncle hypothesis which rests on the kin selection hypothesis (and such a hypothesis has gained its first piece of evidence). There goes both your theories shot down like mosquitoes in a coastal monsoon - two birds, one stone, so to say.

Second: social pressures? Your claim is not supported by the fact that males who have gay friends are still straighter than your dick will ever be. It's like saying you will become an EEEEVULLLL ZIONIST when you make (close) friends with Jews, or Jehovah's Witnesses saying that you will be corrupted with the world if you form friendships with non-JWs (and both have been proven to be false from time to time).

TL;DR No evidence supports the underlying claim that "sodomy" must be criminalized and the LGBT+ community must be rounded up, imprisoned, and subjected to conversion therapy.

@Suzumebachi: Reason and logic trump tradition. Remember that.

PS: I am surprised that @patriciarouco hasn't yet been imprisoned by the Carlosian government for their actions. Wow, bud... I can't even describe how badly you misread my post - whether or not this was intentional is up to the discretion of the reader.

First, let me point out that the Flatworm Theory is not part of the Darwinian Paradox, its literally saying homosexuality evolved for a reason. Just because that reason might make you uncomfortable doesn't change the nature of the theory.

Second, anecdotal evidence and strawmen don't refute the social pressures argument. The most notable human social pressure is child abuse, wherein children who are abused are more likely to be gay or bisexual; but the specific pressure I was referring to was alpha male apes excessively dominating and pushing weaker males in the social order down to the point where they never mate with females and only engage in intercourse (re:prison rules) with more dominant males.

Third, nothing in the article that you cited contradicts any claim that I made; the only new point is the claimed "bisexual advantage", which has more to do with alpha male animals dominating weaker males being considered "homosexual" and increased fertility as a natural survival adaptation to the presence of a so-called "gay gene".

Lastly, in order to continue this argument, I need to ask you a few questions so we can frame the parameters of this debate:
1) Do you believe homosexuality is or can be a choice?
2) Do you believe that homosexuality is or can be caused in part by social pressures (& events)?
3) Do you believe in the existence of a "gay gene"?

So the Senate's just passed a law preventing restaurants from providing plastic straws to customers unless they ask for one. Of course, I think it's totally unnecessary, as the whole anti straw thing is silly and ridiculous, and has been from the start.

That said, I've been seeing a few of my conservative mutuals flip out over this, and, eh, I just can't get all that worked up about it. Especially when you compare it to the outrageous laws passed by other countries and cities like Geransel and Ore Bai. It's much better then having to use those ineffective paper straws, yet another Cael danged tax, or an outright ban. I knew something like this was inevitable with the politicians we're stuck with now, so at least we ended up with something that's actually a pretty common sense way of catering to the bleeding hearts and saving the whales, or whatever. I mean think about it, we can still have a proper straw if we want one, all we gotta do is remember to ask for it. Just be sure to vote conservative in the 2020 elections y'all, cause, frankly, we got really lucky that this ended up being as sensible as it was.

I still probably won't ask for one when I go out, tbh. I never remember really needing a straw. Besides, unless you're a little kid, I think sipping away on a straw makes you look a bit effeminate.
