@Annabell Lang: Congratulations, lassie! You look good in that costume, if I may say so - rather Sherlock Homes-y. ; )
If I may ask, which play is it?
And I am glad, that you liked my literature recommendation. Matsu really wrote a wonderful book, although I personally preferred the scene of Songo and Toto first meeting, the hurricane being a close second. Songo very much reminds me of my own little sister.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

@Finnegan Scríbhneoir of the Tribe of Cork

Oh yes the first meeting of Songo and Toto was so sweet!

& thank you so much for the compliment! Our play is adapting The Vineyard Mystery which is book 12. The Athena Nibley series is very inspired by the Sherlock Holmes stories, no surprise considering the timing of Holmes in 1887 and Athena Nibley in 1890. Lady Brinoy Mead was so inspired by the works of Doyle that she wanted to write her own series of mystery novels. The series still continues today. I love reading them which is why I suggested we do a play from one of the many books. This one in particular is my favorite.

@Annabell Lang: I'll give it a read, then, starting with number one in the series. I must admit, that I am not too big on writing mystery novels myself, preferring the great, blue sea as a backdrop, but I love to read them.
But how can I miss out on those with such a nice recommendation backing them up?

The Liberal-Democratic government has started a new reorganization initiative of the executive branch. Recently they devolved the responsibility for cultural affairs to the local governments and packaged the remaining federal cultural to the Cultural Heritage Administration. The CHA shall function as an independent agency and not a port of any existing department.

This decision lead to a shrinking of the Ministry of Culture and the Environment. The government wants to use this newly created space in the federal bureaucracy to move the energetical agencies from the Ministry of Bussiness, Energy and Innovation here. This would lead to a creation of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The reason for this might be political. This move is going to transfer some influence the powerful and LibDems-controlled MoBEI to the Republican-controlled environmental department. Strengthening the ties in the centre-right coalition, while the left-wing coalition crumbles due to a different position on the topic of homosexuality among the member parties.

On behalf of Piffle Publishing Co. I want to thank you both for enjoying our published works. It was a great pleasure for us to publish Taming Maiden and I for one really enjoyed editing it. So you know, we'll be hosting the book's author up here in a few weeks and we're planning a meet-and-greet. Miss Lang I know you're probably a bit west but I hope you'll be able to come out to see her. And Mr. Scríbhneoir, sounds like you're a maritime efficiento? Might I recommend The Case of the Chrysanthemum from the Athena Nibley series. It's the fourth published work and is set aboard a Steamer out to sea. Classic bottleneck story if I may say so. And if non-fiction may suit you, try out Crosswinds of Trade it outlines some early history of maritime trade between our fine nations. I recall it even details about Spring Festival of 1718.

@Elma Fujiama: Thank you for the recommendations, Miss Fujima, I'll be sure to give especially Crosswinds of Trade a good look. My family is from Leuda and although I doubt, that my ancestors made it into a published scientific work, it's always interesting to read about the times they lived in... and to get kissed by Abhcan, inspired to a new work. I hope, that I can convince my publisher to talk to your employer, maybe something can be arranged?
The Case of the Chrysanthemum sounds fun as well - and indeed, I spent of my life studying and writing about the great blue oceans and those, who lived there.
Either way, I will also try to come to that meet-and-greet. I always wanted to travel to Kuronami and with Abhcan's Little Daggers set sail with my editor, I have the time for a small vacation with my family.

The World Assembly, by continuing with the wide approval of the Traditional Medicine resolution currently at vote, is forcing a law onto us that violates previous free religion and free choice precedents set by the Supreme Court, as well as just generally passing a badly written resolution. All citizens should be able to choose their own healthcare, and the "traditional medicine" definition is so nebulous that it could be said to include chicken noodle soup for a cold. Not looking good on the WA--the Liberal Party is currently considering leaving organization. No promises, but let it be known that we are displeased with the current course.

It never fails to amuse me how statists would proclaim anarchy a state of perpetual violence and fear, all while blithely ignoring the extensively institutionalized paranoia in the form of surveillance and propaganda, and the ceaseless state-sponsored wars with death counts in the millions.

If anything, it is the presence of ever more extensive and powerful governments which causes violence and needless destruction of human lives.

For the good of all peoples everywhere, we must adopt more anarchist principles in society and in government. Only then will we truly be safe, free, living our lives as we choose, and not as the self-promoting elites of the world choose.

@Max_Inoue You just seriously don't know how to do anything but spout propaganda, do you? My husband is in excellent health, like I could happily tell you from personal experience.

From my very personal experience. ;)

The prevalence of STD issues among homosexuals was due to a number of factors. Namely...

1. Certain sex acts spread illness more readily, but for many years, this was not known, and so it was (falsely) believed you did not require barriers or protection during these acts.

2. There are fewer homosexual people in any given society than there are heterosexual people. This is simple reality. Thus if a homosexual individual seeks a sexual encounter, even if the number of local homosexuals with STDs is identical to the number of heterosexuals who are infected, the smaller pool of available partners makes encountering one with a disease more likely.

The first issue is dealt with by spreading knowledge and information. Use protection, always. The second is handled by simply being aware of your own health, and that of those individuals you intend to potentially have sex with, which is honestly good advice for anybody, sexual orientation aside.

In other news, it seems Khataiy is falling further and further apart. No surprises there. I'll keep an eye on that one.
Donald J. Trump was an exceptionally good POTUS, and I do not care if this opinion hurts your feelings.

In my experience, ultra-realists in RP tend to be the sort of people who see an RP as a contest to be won, rather than a story to be told, but because they lack honestly any story-writing ability, they seek to lawyer their way to a victory by drowning everybody in statistics and demanding everything run strictly by a laundry list of statistics and figures they dig out of obscure field manuals and tech magazines.

Hello, world!
To introduce myself, I am Shirin, by profession and occupation a handmaiden, or alkhadima, at the Court of the Ilkhan of Sarepta, on loan to the Court of the Ilkhana of Utica as handmaiden to Prince Mahmut ibn-Idris during his stay with his Uncle, and I finally came around making an account here and using it. My hobbies are playing and teaching music (I play E-Bass) and cooking (people say my Luqaimat is to die for).
I'll try to post every now and then about the life of a handmaiden, about things going on, about backgrounds pertaining Kyrenaia, maybe even about my own opinions about matters (with a corresponding note, of course), we'll see.
So... Hi, again!

I work for the Daidouji family of Amaterasu here in the Empire. Well to be more specific, I work for Daidouji Himiko officially but I've come across her elder sister, who is the Lady of this Domain and her twin sister, Daidouji Tomoyo-sama because I reside and work on the grounds. You mentioned you were on loan to a noble family in your nation?

@Yuki Yuna: Actually on loan from one Court to another Court. I originally belong to (or rather am employed at) the Court of the Ilkhan of Sarepta, Idris ibn-Amir, but I was loaned to the Court of the Ilkhana of Utica, Razia Sultana Umm Albilad, to act as handmaiden for Prince Mahmut ibn-Idris, Idris-Ilkhan's oldest son and on an educational stay with his Uncle, the Grand Vizier.
I still, officially, belong to the Household of the Ilkhan of Sarepta, though.
