Our people used to be called Americans. We used to be from a great nation. But that nation was plagued with conflict. Too many political factions and religious sects froze our country from moving in any one direction, lest the nation upset a specific faction while pleasing another. Soon, the in-fighting became worse. Political factions wishing to "free the country" flocked to the cities where their elected officials were seated. Religious communities flocked to the largest worship centers in the country. Rights activists protested in every street of every large city in the United States. Seeing the indecisiveness, the corporations began pulling out of the economy and building small armies of mercenaries to defend themselves in case of struggle. The religious communities armed up, along with the activists and political followers. Soon, rioting and small wars were being waged. The federal military was called in, but was soon torn apart by the same bickering. All-out war erupted in the U.S. The fighting stretched to all areas of the country. No single faction was strong enough to win, only to fight and struggle on its way to destroying itself. Terrorists saw the right time to strike. Other countries saw it was time to start cutting up pieces of our once great country for themselves. No one really knows who started to drop the bombs. Everyone just knows that when the first one exploded and wiped out Washington D.C., that everyone blamed everyone else. At this point, when the factions could have reunited to save themselves or keep fighting, they chose the wrong option. Soon, everyone who had a nuclear bomb was throwing them at their enemies. Most major cities were decimated. Most rural peoples had already been gunned down and killed. It's been 11 years now since the day the last bomb erupted over Atlanta. And people have been flocking to this town, the slowly growing city. This city, where I was just happened to live. Where I have been doing my best to help the refugees. We're growing stronger with each passing day. We've been making pacts and alliances with nearby cities to join us. They all want me as their leader. I don't know why the people love me, they just do.
