Flohental is a de jure monarchy, but a de facto military dictatorship. The Dictator, Minister-President Schönhaus is aging, giving hope that his death or retirement will lead to reform. These hopes are not shared by everyone, especially those within the ruling party, the LMP. Various groups domestic and foreign will attempt to influence events favorable to themselves.

Characters:
Minister-President Schönhaus, dictator who wields emergency powers and holds several high offices. Essentially an autocrat.

Security Chief Haase, a member of the LMP and head of the security services (Sicherheitsdienst). Responsible for maintaining security and oversees law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

King Conrad X, the current monarch who allied with Schönhaus during the civil war, and while still grateful is resentful of Schönhaus's power and control. Sees maintaining the monarchy as most important.A value he has departed to his three sons.

Uwe and Thusnelda last names unknown, members of the Democratic Front, one of many underground resistance groups.

How to sign up. Just post a bit about your nation and characters. Questions welcome.

Pacificora is a former colony of the Poliscravan Empire that declared independence with the help of the rivaling Ampian empire. Pacificora only recently left a massive population and technological boom that has made it a huge investment oppurtunity. The recently adopted centre-leftist party has been trying to spread Pacificora's regions of influence as the huge expansion of power comes to an end.

Pacifican politicians have never liked being near Flohental due to political tensions between the two. The leftist politician Juan Yugul has recently become a popular candidate for the upcoming election with an extreme dislike of the Flohental regime and has been quoted saying "If I'm elected, I'll make sure someone in Flohental can."

Characters:
Siavush Nelinho Matheus Gomes: sitting president of Pacificora. Centre leftist, and rather isolationist in his policies. This has lead to a general dissatisfaction with his presidency, and calls for massive change in all foreign policies has been popular.

Juan Guhyad Xacria Yugal: The most popular candidate for the presidential election in two months. Another centre leftist, but, unlike Siavush, he is very pro Pacifican influence in the region. Has voiced major criticism of the Flohental regime and, to say the least, is not a popular figure in the eyes of Flohental politicians. Has been very pro Democratic Front.

Mehrdad Jahangir Olegário Hagopian: nicknamed Mehra, and also 'the Pacifican terror of the skies', he is a commander in Pacifivento, the Pacifican Air Force, and is known for his amazing feats in conflicts with Pacificora's neighbours. Commands a fleet called 'the Nightmares', and is a popular figure in Pacificora, especially in the capital, Pala.

I'm out. Not going to get into why, but the lack of momentum should make it obvious. If anyone is interested in doing something similar, TG me or go here. Thanks.

Some more background:

During the reign of King Siegfried Heinrich II the Republican movement gained strength, and the sympathetic parties obtained a majority in the Landtag. His Majesty resisted their influence, and refused to a point a premier said to be republican. An uneasy compromise was made, and the King successfully played the factions off of one another. However, after his death, a coup was launched, first attempting to replace the new king, Conrad V, with a junior cadet. This fell apart, and a second coup declared a republic.

The Republic was originally successful, having seized the King and his immediate family. However, it faced both an external threat in the Royalist army, and internal division. The republican election resulted in a victory for the religious distributionist party, the CCP. This disappointed the more far left leaders of the revolution.

As the republicans failed to govern, a civil war broke out. The King was killed in a botched rescue attempt. The Royalists were thrown into chaos, and both sides splintered. Conrad VI and his two brothers became guerillas, and were eventually caught by Communists. As they were executed in order of birth, the younger Princes were counted as Kings.

The new King was Conrad IX, a distant cousin of the Conrad V. He ordered his Generals to fight a defensive war. The Royalists got their big break, when General Schönhaus, a rising star in the republic ranks, defected with his regiments. Schönhaus had previously fought with various factions, as they had splintered. Vowing to make peace within a year, he launched a successful recruitment campaign.

It took three years instead of one, but after the victory at the battle of Mühlgrab, General Schönhaus formed the Mühlgrab League. An alliance of royalist, fascist, and centrist forces. Promoted to Field Marshal, Schönhaus now lead the largest fighting force. He began to siege the last remaining strongholds.

Conrad IX called the Landtag, all the representatives agreed to the emergency powers act, which gave Schönhaus the power he needed to restore peace.

Following the peace, Schönhaus became Minister-President, and turned the Mühlgrab League into a political party, by formally merging it with the Liberal party.

As the years went by, Schönhaus became more entrenched in power. He has the broad support of the military, which he uses to control the country. Remembrance of the civil war and his heroism give him popular support as well. However, there is growing discontent with LMP rule.

The current King Conrad X had hoped to rule himself, feeling almost a prisoner in his palaces. Underground groups such as the Democratic Front are small but active. They were formed at the end of the war by the defeated rebels. The Democratic Front was stared with the aim of recruiting disaffected Communists to liberal democracy.

This is not going to happen, per TG from the OP. I'm going to give it a whirl over HERE.
