Prime Minister Södergren sat in a chair, nervously watching the broadcast. His Social Democratic Party was projected to win the election, but that was no guarantee of being able to form a coalition. What if his coalition partners lost a significant amount of votes and he couldn’t form a government? He would either have to form a minority government with the King’s consent or he would be out of his job as Prime Minister. Even with a minority government, he would constantly have to worry about passing every little piece of legislation, and avoiding votes of no confidence.
However, all his worrying was for naught. The results came in from the Scandinavian Electoral Commission, showing a 27% plurality for the Social Democrats, as well as the ability to form a coalition government with the other three more left-wing parties. The rest of the people at the Social Democratic Party headquarters cheered at the news. Södergren went to his office at headquarters, obtained when he was elected party leader. He began drafting a coalition agreement to the Green Party, Progressive Alliance, and Left Party, similar to the one created four years ago between the 4 parties.
