I'm thinking of some sort of (mainly naval) conflict over a sort of island country. My proposed pretext would be that a Carlosian billionaire who has fled Carloso and has since been suspected of electoral interference has sought asylum in this island country. When the Carlosian government demands he be handed over, the country refuses and the Carlosian Navy is deployed in response to blockade the country, which in turn seeks assistance from the IFC

The blockaded country could be an NPC or maybe even an IFC member

Well, as was said before, the days of massive alliances is sort of over, however that has given away to the alternative of smaller RP groups that can produce higher quality storylines that are more consistent.
