Lablanck responds to AA Flight 117In a statement made at lunchtime today, President and Director for Energy, Environment, Transport and Communications Natalja Lablanck called the disappearance of AA Flight 117 a "national tragedy", saying that "the entire Crylantian nation, from Nokia, Viikmaa to Nymor, Vanir Islands" stood with the families of those affected by the crash.
The flight, carrying 211 people from Rodonya in Alforja to Sønderburg International, is thought to have disappeared in the early hours of the morning. 89 of its passengers were Crylantian nationals according to a statement by Alforja Airlines. The families of all 89 passengers are believed to have been contacted.
Lablanck's sentiments were echoed by Vice President and Director for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Jenný Anadottir, who stated that she would be working with the Alforjan government in an international rescue attempt, also adding that her prayers would be with those affected by the crash.
There were emotional scenes this morning at Sonderburg International Airport among the families of those waiting for those at the arrivals department of Terminal 4. Videos emerged online of Tarja Lehtonen of Isomuuri, Särmäki, distraught after learning of the disappearance of her 17-year-old son, Armas Lehtonen.
Further echoes of support for Lablanck and Anadottir's comments have come from figures across the nation in political, cultural and business spheres over the afternoon.
