VIKTOR LOVASZ TO RETURN TO PRESIDENCY.
In a three-hour long livestreamed announcement between Granzerian President Viktor Lovász, Supreme Commander Josca Batori, Vice President Linda Pásztor and other government officials, a territorial defense scheme was announced, and the future of Granzery was agreed upon.
Viktor Lovász and Linda Pásztor, who have spent the last few days in Ultrecht, Rohst, returned to Csongrad today amongst much fanfare and speculation. In the Politburo Offices (now named as Parliament Building) of Csongrad, a several hour long stream was hosted over the course of which multiple announcements were made regarding the future of Granzery.
First on the agenda Josca Batori and Viktor Lovász announced that an agreement had been reached to allow Viktor Lovász to return to the office of President. The Office of the Granzerian President and Lower House would be democratically elected once every 4 years, while the Upper House would be formed with a representation of 25% military personnel, 25% elected officials, and 10% of permanent representatives of each of the 5 new parties. The first election is to take place on the 18th of August, 2018, which Viktor Lovász is expected to win.
A series of five political parties are to be founded, including:
- The Granzery Nationalists - The head of this party is Josca Batori, the party is founded on Granzerian Ultranationalism and anti-communism, it espouses protectionist, corporatist market economics and a hawkish foreign policy.
- The Conservative Party - The head of this party is Viktor Lovász, the party is founded with a moderate stance of foreign policy, semi-market economics, and Granzerian nationalism.
- The Liberal Party - The head of this party is Jákob Rácz, the party is founded on a platform of free market economics and a neutral, anti-war foreign policy.
- The Socialist Party - The head of this party is Gizella Lukács, the party is founded on an anti-capitalist and anti-nationalist sentiment. It supports a market socialist economic policy and a pivot towards anti-CSS policies.
- The Moderate Party - The head of this party is Józsi Szőke, it is founded on a moderate foreign policy, semi-free market economics and supports further democratization.
An election determining the representations for each party will be determined in the August Election, in a four-month transitional period prior to this election a coalition of National and Conservative Party members will form the lower house in equal representation.
Granzery's membership in the CSS would not be affected by the agreements, and Viktor Lovász announced he had every intention to further enhance CSS-Granzery relations.
A multitude of military-based announcements were made too. the Granzery Observer reports that Viktor Lovász and Josca Batori are both dissatisfied with the conditions of Granzery's military. Several statements made suggest the country may be enlarging its military.
“It is not good that Granzery is lagging at the end of the line,” Lovász told Katolikus Rádió in September. “We should shine light on the meaning of military service. That is why we will set up voluntary [territorial defense] units. This is a concept we are discussing, and decisions will be made soon,” Lovász further said.
Josca Batori annoucned a program in which voluntary military units would be set up around the country to essentially act as reserve forces. These programs, the government hopes, would encourage the notion of “patriotic commitment and willingness to make sacrifices.” In practice, the government would like to “offer more and more young people the opportunity to take part in volunteer military reserve services by emphasizing this within the framework of being a national issue.”
Batori has also expressed his desire to see military school-like programs to encourage young people to learn the basics of military training. According to the supreme commander, the goal here is not to train militants, but rather to offer young people a counter-culture that is rooted in a value system based on love of the homeland.
Lastly, the government issued a condemnation of the Prusein state, a fellow CSS member to its south, for the brutal, public executions of hundreds of military staff. Viktor Lovász said on the matter "The actions the Prusein State has taken not only serve to do nothing more than further destabilize the region, but evoke imagery of a barbaric time which belongs far in Asura's past."
