Phase Two Announced
Air Campaign Strategy Change
After the continued success of the Sagitean led air campaign over Johka, Air Marshal Richard Spence has initiated what is being called 'Phase Two', heralding in several changes in the overall tactics being employed against Johkan forces. This is expected to bring about further strategic successes and hopefully mitigate the coalition losses suffered so far. The Air Marshal called the operations up to this point, now referred to as Phase One, as a rousing success and a point of national pride, but has been rigorous in insisting that the strategy must evolve in order to continue to be effective. So far the strategy has been to target key military installations which support Johkan forces in the field, including radar and communications centres; this developed into a strategy of targeting the repair crews as they attempted to restore the functionality of damaged and destroyed infrastructure.
Phase Two will involve the withdrawal of manned recon flights, with the exception of extreme altitude craft, from areas near known Johkan anti-air forces. However this change will come coupled with a change in the way targets are selected and how attacks are undertaken. Most notably Sagitean aircraft will begin targeting supporting infrastructure such as factories, warehouses, power stations, and container ports in an effort to cripple both the Johkan military ability and the ability of their economy to sustain the military campaign against coalition forces. In addition tank hunter drones and aircraft will now be employed in direct support of coalition forces in the north.
