If anybody here is interested in something RP-related that is very brief, the Lilac Coronation RP between Visty and me is at an interesting little stage where leaders and dignitaries both within and outside the universe (Alt-Vistoraverse is multiversal) can meet with the Aphroarch-to-be for a few posts. It is just a little something fun to do.

The true purpose, initially, was to give other Alt-Vistoraverse nations a chance to jump in without having to commit, but we decided to open the invitation to everyone, at least for a short while.

Though your writing shouldn't be opinionated unless you're writing from the first-person perspective: the third-person narrator should be impartial, only expressing opinion to add effect.

Just describe the setting in explicit detail. Talk about how the texture of the wall was smooth under her hands as she walked slowly down the dimly lit corridor. She hesitated slightly before turning, left, corners had always frightened her, perhaps it was the blindness, the lack of knowledge as to what lurks around the bend.

I actually do this all the time (see RoG), along with line breaks for dialogue. It is a great tactic to do; usually making my posts ~6,000 words and seeming much longer than one compounded 6,000 word posts would be.
