Greetings,
I am SDC (Stoacian Democratic Council) member Rynden Boyer. I come to you as a simple family-person from a small but clean, honest, and happy republic by the name of Stoacia. We are a strong, smart but quiet people that strives every day for the balance of Individual Freedoms, and Government Regulation. I come before this prestigious group of human beings (et al) with a proposal: If the elected member FAILS or REFUSES to conduct the STATED will of his/her constituency, then that member is to be put on a 60 day probation. If, at the conclusion of this time, the Official has NOT satisfactorily corrected their political actions, then they are to be IMMEDIATELY suspended from duty pending investigation, and a hastily, but Democratically, elected alternate is to be put in their place. The Proposal stands as follows:
1) The elected official receives FIVE CALENDAR MONTHS from the day of their elections to carry out the will of his/her constituency. The "will" being simply defined as "The documented voting majority of the legally area-bounded persons".
2) If at this time, the polled constituency shows a LESS THAN a 50% approval rating, that candidate is put an IMMEDIATE 60 day probation where the approval of ALL of his/her decisions MUST be reviewed by the SDC BEFORE any yay or nay ballot is placed.
3) At the conclusion of the 60 day probation, the PEOPLE (by use of HEAVILY-regulated polling) will determine is stated candidate should of should nor remain in power.
4) A majority vote of "YEA" will allow said candidate to carry out the remainder of his or her term.
5) A majority vote of "NAY" will result the immediate dismissal of said candidate , pending investigation of any possible broken laws.
OK, so all the blah-blah-blah aside...here are some thoughts and feelings behind this law:
As a People, We are done with career politicians who are only seen back in their states to tell their horrifically ill-informed constituencies just enough of they want to hear to get re-elected....and do the goddam EXACT OPPOSITE (or damn near) the will of his/her people because they are paid off by Special Interest Groups who just want their specific agendas written into OUR laws. It MUST come to an end....NOW.
