Now, I might have made some mistakes, but I think you may have the wrong winner.

Didn't realize that the Euski votes were post-deadline, and missed the Lonish vote. Everything's fine.

They took out both of Eusk's votes - also you gave 10 from Arstakh to Izmedu when it should go to Adab

Edited: Izmedu is out and Euski is in, if his entry still counts. If not, it looks like Estogium will take it.

wait, I might have missed someone- checking now

Looks like I was wrong. Sorry guys, I missed the Lonish vote, which changed everything. Carry on.

Congrats, though, Polkopia! It was a very catchy song.

So is Euski banned next edition?

Congratulations on another WorldVision win Polk! :)

A very, very huge thank you to you all for voting me into 4th. This edition's been a bit nervewracking and stress-filled with me being muddled in school for most of it, but in the end I think it all came out okay. Let's see if I can extend this new momentum for WV49.

I'm really sad for Euski, and I hate to see such a great entry being struck down by late voting, but the rules are the rules...

WV49 post incoming soon.

literally a minute late, but he's known the deadline for a while now and should have voted earlier

I am satisfied with my result ^_^

It's amazing how we could've had a different winner if only someone voted on time...
Kalosia wrote:Btw I don't think I'll mind having them banned from the next contest as much as long as they aren't disqualified from the contest they failed to deliver a vote to... it doesn't make a difference in my opinion

"it doesn't make a difference" well now I know it does.

Also now that I think of it Polkopia's song (congrats!!!) reminds me of Matrosy by Viktoria Petryk (JESC 2008 Ukraine, 2nd place). And yes, the voting was very close, we would have the same user winning twice in a row if I was among those who did not vote on time.

Let's all agree...

To not edit posts after that 20.00 BST deadline.
To just post your song/votes at an earlier time. It doesn't really affect your chances of winning.

@Kalosia: That was a mistake. All I wanted to do was place higher than 7th.

Hi guys!!! I really appreciate the support from some of you, but I also understand the position of the others.

I wanted to vote on Sunday but my father and step mom surprised me with a welcome party in their house (which is away from the city, in the warm countryside). This, of course, messed up my plans because I was outside of the online world from Saturday morning until Monday; the place doesn't exactly have a good connection (I wasn't even able to watch the Colombia vs. USA soccer match; and that's a sin in my country). I tried to leave early on Monday for civilization (so I could vote and send some emails I needed to send to Spain) but we woke up very late.

I had already read half of the entries on Friday so I quickly read the others on the road. I tried to post my votes but the connection was too slow and it kept going down. I tried then connecting my iPhone and my iPod to my father's mobile network and it kinda worked, but I had few minutes left. I then thought of sending a TG to someone from the committee to explain my situation but the connexion time was so long that the page kept crashing.

In the end, and it was one of the most stressful minutes of my life, I was able to log in as Euskirribakondara on my iPhone; and as Artsakhestan on my iPod. I wrote my votes and tried posting them again for the nth time and it was 14:00 (local time, 20:00 in the UK), right before entering the tunnel of Icononzo (where I obviously lost the connection again). After we left the tunnel (which was a bit crowded) five or six minutes later I was able to check that the Euski votes had been posted before the entrance of the tunnel (at 14:01); and the Artsakhi votes after the exit (at 14:06). Bummer :/. What really pissed me was the Euski votes because it was a matter of seconds.

The important question now is... Will I be able to use the same songs in WV50? I know many people won't vote again for me, but I don't want these two songs (which I ended loving) to be left in history as just disqualified entries.

I apologize for not posting before but after arriving to Bogotá, I left again for another town (where the Internet connexion wasn't any better); and I just got here (and yes, it's 1:20 but I was curious about the results).

I did have a great time this weekend, so it doesn't feel as bad! :P

Congrats Polk!!!

(I see that the rule talks about missing an edition as a country.... Can I participate with another country, or should the rule say "user"?)

And no, you can't resuse the song. Especially as you won (ish) with it.
