Multi-National Military Exercises In Bavra, Astronea to join Kruppstadt Pact

Continuing in its recent trend of large scale training manuevers, the Astronean Armed Forces has today finished its first week of joint military exercises with neighbouring Zerinfrium and its close ally, Chazicaria. With another week of exercises left on the field, and yet longer exercises of diplomacy to take place behind closed doors, the move for warmer relations may hint to some kind of closer military cooperation in the future.

Astronean military officials have long made clear their intentions to strengthen advanced command and control infrastructure as well as integrate such technologies with small unit tactics. Elements of the 76th Mountain Division in the form of the 2nd Light Infantry Sotabanda and the 115th Marcra Brigade from the 1st Cavalry regiment join with mechanized, armoured and airborne brigades from the Kruppstadt Pact in a series of joint scenarios designed to improve cohesion between forces and their command infrastructure. In the face of growing tensions to the east, it seems now, more than ever, Astronea seeks partners in the defence of the Republic.

In recent hours, Defence Minister Eireen Portvar has confirmed Astronea's intention to join the Kruppstadt Pact with Zerinfrium and Chazicaria. This decision comes as the Astronean government seeks to embolden its security doctrine and strengthen the south eastern border with Stasnov. Details on just how this new alliance will affect military and foreign affairs are still unclear, but one thing is certain, that military capability, and spending, is set to greatly increase between partner nations.

A new set of missions were announced earlier today as an expansion to the principles of mutual defense laid out by the Kruppstadt Pact. While these new goals were formulated by defense officials and senior military leaders within the Imperial Republic, they've been discussed with Astronean and Zerinite counterparts for months.

Today marks a new milestone for the alliance, however, as these new goals have been officially adopted by the three member states of the KP. Jointly announced in simultaneous press conferences, each nation has iterated their commitment. The Foreign Affairs Council made the following statement in Kruppstadt:

"Working alongside our northeastern allies thee last few months has been unbelievably productive. Between join exercises in integrating our armed forces for the collective defense of our nations, and developing new defensive methods to counter potential threats around the world and in our own backyard, the benefits have been limitless. It's our pleasure to announce the following goals of the KP, in cooperation with the governments of Zerinfrium and Astronea:

1. The future containment of Communist and Fascist powers and movements both inside our own nations and around the world, for the sake of peace and human dignity.

2. The defense of Joint-Base Kattegat, a key installation in the KP Zentrum Sea strategy. This will come alongside increased military cooperation not just on Kattegat, but around the world.

3. Sharing intelligence and assisting each other's own intelligence agencies in fighting against threats, both foreign and domestic, to Chazicarian, Astronean, and Zerinite sovereignty.

These new goals should be considered as equally as serious as the original defensive nature of the Kruppstadt Pact, and will be pursued to the same degree. Already, months of work has put into place the beginnings of an undersea surveillance system within the Zentrum Sea that can be used to monitor both illegal activity, and hostile foreign work.

We look forward with great enthusiasm to this new age of cooperation."

Only minutes later, the Zerinite Federation put forth a short, yet pointed statement confirming their participation:

"After several rounds of discussion and debate in the senate, and approval by the Primir, the Zerinite Federation has decided to commit to the three new missions laid out by the Imperial Republic in its recent discussions within the KP.

"In order to maintain the security and liberty of our sovereign nations, we've elected to commit to the enhanced defense of our fellow member states. We shall be the wall between Communism, Fascism, and the Free World. A bulwark of free Chazicaria, Astronean, and Zerinite people, standing firm against authoritarianism." Stated Primir Valentingr on the subject prior to signing the commitment.

And alongside their new allies, the Astronean government released a highly detailed statement.

The Astronean National Assembly today has for the past seven hours been in talks among various ministers regarding the Astronean Republic Security Doctrine. First drafted in 1997, the ARSD lays out the framework for the defence and security of the Republic and its interests both domestic and abroad.

With Astronea joining of the Kruppstadt Pact, government officials have been in talks with its partner nations regarding the ARSD, and realigning its aims with the overall goals of the KP. The talks, chaired by speak of the house Marius Lorral, resulted in a drafting of additional key features of the ARSD.

External Affairs minister Eireen Portven presented the new draft, handed down from the Defence Ministry, to Prime Minister O'Rease just one hour ago. We are just now learning that President Detrom has signed his approval of the redraft.

In the new addition of the Astronean Republic Security Doctrine, several clauses now commit Astronea to join aims within the KP:

1.) The containment of both communist and fascist powers and movements.

2.) The reinforcement and participation in defence of the Joint Air and Naval Base Kattegat, and express cooperation of the Astronean Armed Forces with KP member nations for defence and containment.

3.) Sharing of intelligence regarding possible communist and fascist threats, both domestic and foreign.

Prime Minister O'Rease published a statement upon the draft's release, saying
"We are proud to sign into effect this latest redraft of our security doctrine. In doing so, we align ourselves with the commitment of our brothers and sisters in the Kruppstadt Pact to defend not only our interests, but the sovereignty of free nations throughout the world against growing fascist and communist imperialism."

It's expected that foreign states within the inferred Fascist and Communist threats of GESA and the VP respectively, will respond negatively to the enhanced defensive doctrine being adopted here, especially considering the already contentious region of the Zentrum.

"Unity-2019" exercises begin in Kossaria

Sudden Vastava Pact exercises have began in Kossaria; Over 15,000 Stasnovan troops to take part; Ordia to participate; Meralan observers expected.

With only little warning, it has been officially announced by the press office of the Vastava Council that multinational military exercises dubbed "Unitiy-2019" have begun in the Kossarian Socialist Workers' Republic. The announcement states that all member nations will take part in the exercises, with the Stasnovan Union dispatching over 15,000 troops, mostly of the Airborne Forces, to participate. Specifically, the 10th Air Assault Brigade, the 2nd Guards Airborne Division, the 15th Airborne Division, and elements of the 2nd Guards "Moskvingrad" Motor Rifle Division. The Union of Proletarian Republics of Gorbatov as well as Kossaria itself have not yet announced the total number of their troops that will be participating. Notably, the Republic of Ordia, a long-time observer state of the Vastava Pact will also be taking part in the exercises, and the Ordian Armed Forces have dispatched an undisclosed number of troops to Kossaria. It was also announced that officers from the People's Republic of of Merala will be present, to observe the exercises.

The Unity-2019 Exercises are taking place in the region of Leśniczówka, in western Kossaria. The currently underway initial stages of the exercises involve mechanised and armoured maneuvers by various formations, with specific objectives to secure. Numerous other types of missions will follow in the next days, such as airborne landings, construction of defensive positions, infiltration and live fire exercises. Additionally, mock dogfights will also take place between the participants, as well as air-to-ground strikes against designated targets. A large scale combat simulation will also occur in the later parts of the exercises, where the Gorbatovic and Kossarian "teams" will be taking the role of BLUFOR "defenders", while their Stasnovan and Ordian counterparts try to invade the exercise area from the west as the OPFOR "attackers".

Major General Vladimir Andreyevich Valenko, commanding officer of the 2nd Guards Airborne Division and overall commander of the Stasnovan forces in Unity-2019, made the following statement regarding the meaning of the exercises: "Unity-2019 has been the largest joint Vastava Pact exercise for this year as of yet, and its sudden yet smooth start goes to show the readiness of our combined militaries. These exercises serve as an example, an example of how fast the Pact can mobilise to defend the territories of its members and allies. The Kossarian, Gorbatovic, Stasnovan as well as Ordian armed forces have demonstrated their skill, professionalism and their ability to react to any threat, be that of capitalist exploiters and fascist oppressors."

As announced by the press office of the Vastava Pact, its largest military exercise to date, dubbed "Unity-2019" has begun in Kossaria, with troops coming from Gorbatov, Stasnov, Kossaria, and Ordia, coming to participate in large-scale wargames that will span several days. In accordance, it is detailed that Gorbatovic and Kossarian troops are to be part of the BLUFOR, with their objective to defend the exercise area; whilst Stasnovan and Ordian troops play the role as the OPFOR, with their objective to invade the exercise area.

It is noted that over 20,000 troops from Gorbatov are to take part in these exercises, mostly from the (placeholder) Combined Arms Army, and aircraft from the (placeholder) Air Army; it is also detailed an undisclosed number of Vympel GSO operatives are to take part in the exercises as well.

Premier Voroshilov has sent the Minister of Defence, Yuri Sannikov, to observe the large-scale exercises, and made the following statement regarding the exercises:
"It is great to see the continued solidarity of Vastava Pact troops with this large-scale exercise. It is quite commendable to see the readiness and eagerness of the combined militaries of the Vastava Pact, showing that we are truly capable to answer any threat that wishes to go against the will of the proletariat."

People's Revolutionary Army officers in Kossaria

Over 35,000 troops from all the member states of the Treaty of Cooperation and Mutual Assistance have come together for exercise Unity-2019, which is now the biggest and most ambitious VP exercise in more than a decade.

VP has said that the intent of this large-scale exercise will be to demonstrate how fast the organisation can mobilise to defend the territories of its members and allies. It will also demonstrate the skills, professionalism and the ability of member states to react to any capitalist or fascist threat.

Various divisions of the armies of Stasnov, Gorbatov Kossaria and Ordia have made themselves present for the exercise, ready to participate in large-scale combat simulation on the ground as well the air.

Three separate Meralan inspections team arrived in Kossaria, each being provided with briefings about Unity-2019, and have inspected military activities being carried out as part of this exercise.

It's another big day for the Kruppstadt Pact.

While traditionally the KP has been exclusively the foundation of ACCORD, the military alliance currently comprising Chazicarian, Zerinfrium, Astronea, and Chionium, it's long been a goal of Imperial Republican diplomats to form the Pact into as much of an economic bond as it a defensive one. Today is the culmination of that work, as all current member states of the KP have agreed to terms recently proposed by an elite team of economists, diplomats, and politicians.

The new organization, known officially as the Vesperian Community, is a customs and trade union open to, according to its charter, "all free Vesperian nations willing to share in the bountiful wealth of modernity, including those not affiliated with the Kruppstadt Pact or ACCORD." Analysts have pointed out the "free" comment as being a targeted exclusion of VSO and the Vastava Pact and its members.

While the organization's current focus is going to be bringing member-states up to snuff on regulations and customs, inquiries to their new Press Office have confirmed that they will be sending delegations to any and all eligible nations to discuss membership.

GRANZERIAN MILITARY PRESENCE IN VOLGARIA AND TENBURG INCREASED DRAMATICALLY.
Amid a difficult situation unfolding in Tenburg and Chazicaria, Vezér István Árpád has announced that Granzerian troops will be deployed in much greater numbers in Tenburg, while Reservists are called into active service.

"Should the Chazicarians threaten war over interference, war there will be, for if the VSO are to disrespect their associate nations by looking idly by as foreign powers orchestrate hostile takeovers of their homelands, the VSO will be worthy of neither respect, nor loyalty," were the words that rang across the globe yesterday, as Granzerian troops who had already been transported to Tenburg were officially acknowledged, some 7,500+ troops of the Royal Guard, highly decorated and highly trained shock troops traditionally deployed in rotation on the Stasnovan and Gorbatovic borders. In addition to these troops deployed to Tenburg, another two Armoured regiments, as well as four Mechanized regiments of the 3. Páncélosztály and 6. Gyaloghadosztály were deployed to Volgaria to boost the defences of the VSO signatory, as well as provide rapid deployment to Tenburg should more troops be required.

When asked whether these troops being pulled from the Stasnovan and Gorbatovic borders would undermine the defence of the VSO, Vezér Árpád assured the public that reservists would be mobilized over the coming months in order to boost Granzery's domestic military capacities to its typical level, however to avoid confrontation with the VP, Vezér Árpád also said that these troops would not be deployed on any VP member states border unless such an action was called for.

The speech and following actions has aroused a legitimate fear of looming war with the Kruppstadt Pact, although the Senate has said that they do not seek a military confrontation with the KP, but stress that it is "entirely necessary for an international defensive pact such as the VSO to come to the military defence of its allies, regardless of the risk taken to do so."

The operations of the Royal Guard in Tenburg are highly classified, as are the locations of their deployments, the only information that has been provided publicly is that half of the Royal Guard Division, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Royal Granzerian Regiments, have already mostly arrived in Tenburg, after being secretly deployed over the course of the last few days, and are likely to be fully deployed within the following week.

After a special session of voting in the General Assembly, a new Secretary-General has been finally decided, with 40% of the vote going for the Jarl of Dylfin, Aoife Brighteye, and with runner-up, Ken Jeong, renowned Acronian diplomat, taking the position of Deputy Secretary-General of the OCN. Furthermore, that Jarl Brighteye has set a new record in the OCN, as she is the youngest person elected into the position of Secretary-General to date, at the age of 35. As per with Secretary-General obligations, Jarl Brighteye, will be required to leave her post with the Brytisc government, in order to fulfill her new job as the Secretary-General.

Report: Chazicarians backing FTLA with Money, Weapons, Training

PORT PIERCE: In a press conference earlier this morning, Prime Minister Mara Byrne announced the success of a daring raid by crack Tennish commandos against a large FTLA Company moving to take the town of Dungiven, in the southeast of Tenburg. The compound was raided by a combined force of Army Rangers and an unnamed special forces unit with aerial aid by a CJ32M gunship. The group neutralized the majority of the company, destroyed two tanks, and obtained a wealth of information on FTLA troop movements and upcoming operations.

Chief among the information obtained was a series of communiques between FTLA officers and Chazicarian military officials, confirming the Chazicaria is both supplying and training FTLA guerrillas.

"The confirmation that our eastern neighbors are the spectre behind the FTLA and its cohorts is both saddening and infuriating," Byrne said. "I will offer them a single warning: cease this backing, or face the consequences of a full-scale war."

Multiple Tennish Army units are converging on the unstable city of Crosskeys as of this morning, signalling possible large operations in the future.

Byrne also acknowledged the subway bombing in Kadarvaros, Eszteria. "Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the attack. We have contacted Granzerian authorities and assured them that we are more than ready and willing to help in any way we can."

ROYAL INQUEST INTO REPUBLICAN MODERATE PARTY.
After a series of corruption allegations including the Republican Moderates taking bribes in excess of billions of dollars in exchange for clout in the senate from both foreign nations and companies, the Senate has passed a bill to begin a Royal Inquest into the party to uncover and root out corruption and potential treason.

A week ago, a minor news story broke of the Governor of Sejpedek, Ábrahám Pesty, a member of the Republican Moderate Party, who was arrested on charges of bribery and corruption. The Granzerian Royal Police arrested Pesty after a lengthy investigation that involved placing a wiretap on Pesty's phone, which uncovered that Pesty had over the course of his three year Governorship taken over $3 billion dollars in bribes from international companies and even the Chazicarian government.

After this controversy the Vezekabinet drafted a bill to launch an official Royal Inquest into the party to root out rampant corruption, allegations of which have been rife for years. The Inquest is expected to continue indefinitely until a final decision can be made on what actions are to be taken to reprimand the party and their politicians, Vezér Árpád has refused to comment on the Inquest but the MInister-Regent has said that all steps will be taken to root out corruption in the Granzerian government and ensure that the Granzerian people's interests are always put before personal political or monetary gain.

The Head of the Republican Moderate Party, Elias Antal, has disavowed Governor Pesty and said that his actions were reprehensible and not indicative of the Republican Moderates Party, while he added the Royal Inquest was nothing more than a political stunt to drum up support for the Granzery Renaissance Party and attack the character of the Republicans.

Tenburg Reactivates Carriers from Overhaul, Takes Delivery of Massive Granzerian Arms Shipment

JOINT BASE HAULBOWLINE: The Tennish Joint Base Haulbowline, home to Army, Navy, and Airforce personnel and equipment, has to make room for a number of new tenants this morning, as the Fórsaí Armtha took delivery of a number of military vehicles from her VSO ally, Granzery. This included 50 H-98 'Toad' helis and 70 H-99K 'Super Toads'. Produced by Pék Rotorcraft in Véragyőr, the H-98 and 99K are two of the manufacturer's most successful helicopters, with over 1,000 examples built, and can be configured for many different roles, from transport to close air support.

At the naval base at Portrush, delivery was taken of the first of six Zsolt Pal-class destroyers. The destoyer, intended to be a suppliment to the aging Manann-class destroyers, can carry nearly three times the missile capacity of her Tennish step-sister. She can reach a top speed of 30 knots, and along with an impressive array of weapons and countermeasures, can house a pair of helicopters--likely to be a pair of Toads or Super Toads. TenBet.com is already taking prop bets on the names of the new ships.

Zsolt Pal destroyer, as-of-yet unnamed, sits in dock at Portrush during preliminary inspection.

As signs point to a major clash looming in Crosskeys, this equipment, the helicopters in particular, should be a significant help to the efforts of the tArm Náisiúnta.

The Navy is also getting back its two Morrigna-class carriers, Morrigna and Brighid, from their final scheduled Major Overhaul. While the two carriers have now entered the last stage of their service cycle, they have proven to be reliable in service and more than capable of handling combat duties.

With Valentingr confirmed to be not going for a 3rd term; announced late last year that she will take a 5 year hiatus from public office. The race for the Primirship has been in full swing, with candidates from several parties vying for support across the nation. Thus far it seemed as if this would be a plurality victory for any of the candidates involved, a change of pace from the last 2 elections where incumbent Valentingr took over 50% of the vote both contests. However all of that has changed as recent polling has showed more and more support for Senator Banurik Takarik. This is entirely despite his relation to his father Blakurik Takarik, the infamous diktator who ruled our nation for a entire decade. He has shown to be much different from his father in many aspects. From as major as his down and dirty politics on the debate stage all the way to his facial hair.

Many call his form of debate and politics unbecoming of someone's status as a Senator of the Federation, but others love it describing it as like the verbal dances Valentingr did on the election trail but with much more slurs, and also finding a way to not only answer a question about the economy, but bring up one of his opponent's affairs while doing it. All things aside his campaign has shown to be found on several principles. Largely considered a moderate despite his affiliation with the Black Rose Party, he is in favor of increased gun rights, reworking the welfare system to promote persons getting jobs to "stimulate the economy", as well as pushing for more "workers rights". Despite this he is not in favor of lowering the military budget when asked about this he had this to say

"We live in a very dangerous time. Its not only dangerous, but unpredictable. We do not know what these coming days have in store for us. Our military has done one thing over our entire history, and thats hold the line. No matter what we have held that line drawn in the sand, and under my watch we will continue to hold that line, and not only hold that line, but give no a single inch without making it painful for anyone who dares cross it. I want world peace, but I'm not just going to stand aside and be directly or indirectly supporting countries that wish us to be wiped off the face of the planet."

Most controversially when asked about if he would attempt to talk to Premier Kartsev of Stasnov he stated "...If he is willing to sit down at the table, I would be as well. There is much I'd like to discuss with him."

If this is to be our next Primir. Interesting times are surely ahead for our nation. Especially with hints to the next debate's questions including discussion about the Kruppstadt Pact, in light of Senator Takarik's recent statement about the Stasnovan Primir, we can expect a interesting debate. From showing compassion one minute, and the next berating his opponent's hypocrisy on the stage, can he win it? We will see.

Top Communist Leader Maazullah Keshtmand Killed By Missile In Assassination. Already Tense Situation Grows Worse As Achekzai Government Denies Involvement.

At around 3:17am local time the city of Barakzayi was put on high alert after reports of a loud crashing sound at the Grand Red Hero Tala Warsaji Hotel located in the Central District of the city. Civilian Journalists in the area reported early on that what appeared to be a rocket struck the 26th floor of the hotel in the early morning hours. Members of the Internal Protection and Security Unit were dispatched to the area to investigate the area at roughly 3:25am. Within the hour two critical pieces of information were put out. Firstly the Politburo that had stayed loyal to the Keshtmand government held an emergency session in Darazarb, they did not comment on why they chose to hold an emergency meeting but according to a source named Khalid it had convened to discuss "Leadership Issues." Secondly the Special Security Directorate had issued a statement saying it believed a possible High Value Target was the victim of the attack. It also said it believed the source of the attack to be from a misfired missile on the behalf of Conservative forces.

However nearly 2 hours later with reports of the the Emergency Session of the Communist Party of Zuljikistan coming to a close, photos and reports of Maazullah Keshtmand being killed in the attack circulated on messaging apps. Eventually These photos were confirmed by a team associated with the United Defense Group using forensics techniques to confirm the identity of Maazullah Keshtmand. Nearly an hour later Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party Sayed Sediq Jabarkhyl announced that Maazullah Keshtmand had been killed in a “Cowardly assassination.”

A source going simply by Abdullah described areas of the Capital held by the Internal troops as “Very tense, The soldiers Were on every street corner with guns in hand. The shops were all closed because of the soldiers. No one can really move around, I tried to go to the shop and buy some produce, but I was forced to go home and I’ve stayed inside since.”

Photos continued to pour out of the area, many of them from Internal Troops themselves. However one picture was capable of showing both the weapon used and the impact sight. The picture, provided by a Grama user, shows a large white missile laying across the beds of a hotel room with glass and debris strewn all over the room. Former Temischois Technical Sergeant Gerard Ploust worked on identifying the missile. He Told me in an interview “It's a pretty hard ID, First the missile was mangled and twisted. But usually you’re IDing missiles based of unvaporized shrapnel so it was pretty quick work. So there are some distinctive features of the missile we can see from some of the photos. We can see based on references in the room that its roughly 400cm long, you can see what look like cruciform canards and fins. To me everything points to a KH-25 but there are some anomalies with it. First off we can see that the nose cone is really small for this model of missile, Just based on the outer appearance it looks like we just have the TV guidance system for a Kh-25MT veriant without a warhead. It looks to me this was intentional to try and avoid any collateral damage.”

Political Analyst for Northern Front, Maxim Voclain spoke to me about the context behind this event. “ So we know who did it, Why the Interim government under Achekzai has denied any involvement and has gone into a pretty lengthy disinformation campaign regarding the origin of the incident, saying it could have been a test missile misfire to in internal conflict within the parts of the communist party loyal to Keshtmand. But anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of the current political situation in Zuljikistan could tell you it was the Interim government. They’re the only ones currently able to even platform the missile, the Loyalist government doesn’t have anything of sufficient quantity or flyable condition to launch this weapons platform. The current conflict between the two.. What are effectively parallel governments have been on the brink of breaking. You’ve street fighting between Army and Internal Troop but the two sides have usually been able to disengage before things would escalate, however this is an escalation i don’t see anyone coming back from, The Achekzai government simply doesn’t have the ability to capitalize on this event in a meaningful way. So we have a major development in this conflict and no way to physically end the conflict based on this. I don’t see things going well in the county. I personally don’t even think any forign power would want to get involved here. It just looks like a mess that’ll bog down any foreign fighting force. So I think we'll just have to keep an eye on what goes on here and see if some sort of political solution can be made.”

A political solution seems to be farther and farther from grasp as events on the ground unfold. The morning after several shootouts occured. One in the contested neighborhood of Shabz Asaib where Army forces were able to repel and then counter attack Internal Troops and evict them from the neighborhood. However Internal Troops were able to evict Army soldiers from the strategic towns of Afyad, Khadir, and Tarnulzayi while in the initial chaos members of the United Nazarali Opposition Forces liberated the village of Gorbek without firing a shot. However a shootout in Bishshabz a village in Mizaqalat province lead to the death of 5 Army soldiers and 7 Internal Troops before the Internal Troops took the village over. Interim President Achekzai has called the early morning violence "a Despicable use of tragedy for political gain." His government still denies any involvement in the incident. After the early morning fighting had calmed down the Ministry of Foreign Affairs staged a press conference with official media presence for the first time since the start of the Coup nearly 9 months ago. In this nearly 7 hour presser Minister of Foreign Affairs Qajeer Gul Zohaibi denied any official involvement of the Interim Government and proposed possible alternatives as to who may have done the attack, even stating that it was possibly a misfire by Conservative military forces attempting to mount the weapon system on a noncompliant aircraft, as suggested by the interim government initially, or that it was the result of a coup within the pro-Keshtmand party to prevent possible negotiations from going forward.

Freelance Military Analyst Matthau Kissic is however sceptical. "It is pretty clear this press conference was diversionary from its inception. The only aircraft the Internal troops are known to have are about 12 VeK-23's, 4 LU-17's, and 2 RA-28's. It has the ability to launch these sort of weapon systems. The issue is that you had all air-to-surface missiles concentrated in the 3rd, 4th, and 8th air wings which all sides with the Interim Government. You also have verified reports of an LU-25 taking off from Mav-e-Panj Air Base and entered Conservative territory before heading back to the air as only moments before the initial strike. To me to even try and deny it is a practice in futility."

The people of Zuljikistan wait with held breaths as the political fallout of this action. Hopes of a political solution are few and far between now that this gordian knot has been cut. Local relief agencies both in Temischa and abroad have announced shifts in priorities to help deal with what could possibly become a major migrant crisis. The north sits in wait as its experiment in autonomy comes into question, Achekzai waits to see if his plan works as intended, and the Conservatives struggle to fill in the leadership gap they are left with.

ROYAL INQUEST UNCOVERS RAMPANT CORRUPTION AMONG REPUBLICAN MODERATE AND GRANZERIAN NATIONALIST PARTIES, BOTH DISBANDED.
What began with the arrest of Republican Governer Ábrahám Pesty has resulted in the arrest of a vast swathe of members of the Republican Moderate Party, and also implicated members of the Granzerian Nationalist Party in a litany of corruption charges.

About six months after the initial arrest of Ábrahám Pesty, another 203 Republican and Nationalist Senators, Governors and other minor politicians have been embroiled in a tense legal battle with the Granzerian State, on charges as simple as tax evasion to charges as severe as treason. One of those arrested includes Republican Moderate Opposition leader Éliás Antal, who was arrested on charges of treason and corruption, after Federal Police uncovered evidence of correspondence between Mr. Antal and the shadowy Vazandian intelligence agency IRIS.

The contents of the correspondence is mostly classified, but Federal Police Chief Katinka Gál has stated 'The Evidence is nigh-insurmountable, Mr. Antal was found to be in regular communication with secretive Vazandian Intelligence services who have been accused of election tampering, psychological warfare and espionage in Granzery, among other VSO states.'

In the light of the new accusations the Nationalist and Moderate parties have both been disbanded, and members of those parties who are either found innocent or those that were not arrested will continue their terms as independent Senators until the next scheduled elections. However, due to the void of viable parties apart from the Granzery Renaissance Party, Vezér István Árpád has stated that the Granzerian government will be exploring the addition of a new party to fill the void created by the Moderate and Nationalist parties. Vezér Árpád said in a press interview where he announced the disbanding of the two parties: 'We will endeavour to open the political spectrum to parties with integrity that will best represent the Granzerian people and Granzerian nation.'

When asked how the Granzerian government intended to avoid these situations happening in the future, the Vezér stated 'We must remain vigilant, if we can detect and isolate corruption, be it foreign involvement or corporate lobbying, we can continue to stamp it out.'

The Ins and Outs and What You Need To Know

Since January of last year the country of Zuljikistan has been in a tumultuous state of affairs. To many in the western world this crisis has mostly gone off the radar. However with recent developments on the ground It’s more important than ever to establish a timeline of events detailing how a peaceful, yet authoritarian state became the latest battlefield in this global conflict. A series of events cascading into a chaotic political maelstrom formed by miscalculation and foreign intervention.

June 23rd was the day that sparked what we see today. The Subcommittee of Ecology and Agriculture announced it would demand an increase in wheat production by 35% to compensate for a lack of funds for foreign food imports that fiscal year. Subcommittee Chairman Darab Reshteen Ayubi issued this decree to the various farmers of the country in the communities of the Pashband Valley in the central province of Ghoristan.

This was not received well by locals. Several issues affected the farming communities in the valley. The irrigation system in the valley was built by Stasnovan engineers in the aftermath of the Second Great War. An attempt to Increase the economic viability of their new communist ally. The Ghoristani Irrigation System was opened in 1951 and transitioned to the Zuljikistani Communist Party's Central Committee of Peasantry in 1957. Since the transition to Zuljikistani control the Irrigation system suffered from immense disrepair. Since 1957 the total Field Water Efficiency of the values irrigation system fell by 68% from 1957 to 2019 and as a result crop yields shrunk progressively in that same time frame. To combat the yield issues a policy by the Subcommittee of Ecology and Agriculture was to use commercial fertilizer, in 1987 a policy called "Muttasilii Ziroat" was also Instituted. The policy dictated that different communal farms would be responsible for single crop farms, the goal being to create a diversified yearly crop yield with regular and predictable quantities.

However by the time the Subcommittee issued these production increases serious issues with these decades long policies came to light. A local farmer using the pseudonym Waliullah explained the situation. "The soil is dead, it is dry and it's acrid. The soil can not support anything. We farm wheat here on this farm. We haven't had a successful wheat season in four years. Last year almost none of the crop sprouted. The government told us to spray more herbicides but it's killing the soil, I can’t grow anything here anymore.”

The Zuljikistani agricultural policy had failed to create a prosperous agricultural sector and propel the country towards becoming a major food exporter. Rather the policies undertaken by the Communist Party destroyed much of the viable agricultural land in the country, forcing it to become a net food importer. This was the flashpoint for the Farmers Protest.

July 5th saw an organized strike occure through much of the Valley. The farmers and their families joined them as they marched the 76km from the valley to the capital city. The mark was monitored by security forces, however no intervention occurred. The group of nearly 450 people arrived at the Capitol and made a temporary camp in the middle of Korgaroni Kahkramon Square. These protests were the most intense seen by the state since the Students Revolution in 1988. However it would eventually grow to surpass its 1988 counterpart.

The protest became a catalyst for others to express their displeasure with the system as it stands. From July 7th to July 10th the numbers grew from the original 450 to well over 5,000. In the course of the month the numbers surged to 75,000 in the square itself. In several cities solidarity protests gathered hundreds of thousands of protestors. These protestors were a broad front, lack of democracy, authoritarianism, and state atheism were the biggest of the complaints leveled against the government. As the crowds grew in size the number of police also grew, so much so that local police from other provinces needed to be taken and sent to the Capitol in order to maintain a relatively normal police presence in the rest of the city. By August 4th the General Secritary of the Zuljikistani Communist Party Maazullah Keshtmand declared a State of Emergency in the city and Deployed the Internal Troops to police the situation.

Minister of the Interior and Undersecretary of the Ziljikistani Communist Party Zuhur Gul Khilidzai issued orders on August 7th to use force to disperse protestors for the Square, their numbers ballooning to nearly 100,000 in a city of 1.7 million. Internal Troops using rubber bullets and Riot Police with shields and batons engaged the protestors from multiple sides. The brotestors fought back. Some were able to take the shields and batons from riot police, others used the poles from street signs to break up the old brick roads to throw at police. The first clash was repelled. Several more clashes occurred throughout the day. By August 14th the Keshtmand Government and the Ministry of the Interior had grown frustrated. According to sources in the government at the time Keshtmand met with the Senior Commander of the Armed Forces Hamid Ali Yousefzai on the 15th of August. Reportedly Keshtmand asked Yousefzai if he would be able to conduct operations against protestors in order to return things to normal. Yousefzai reportedly refused, Saying the military's mandate did not cover its use in domestic political disputes.

Hours later the first life round was fired at protestors by an Internal Troop Sniper located on the Museum of Cultural and Revolutionary History which overlooked the western flank of the square. Reporter, Activist, and Writer Gholam Seyyed Ahangarani was at the protests when the first shots rang out. “We had noticed since the morning that there were men on the roofs of the buildings that were located on the square. Dressed mostly in plain clothes, We thought they were police providing overlook. Then we heard the shot, After the first shot he had the police fire on the crowd with a mix of live and rubber rounds. We knew the name of the boy who was shot, his name was Ghatool Tabanzai."

Ghatool Tabanzai would become a galvanizing figure in the movement. A 13 year old boy who had originally entered the square as part of the original 450 farmers was shot during the protest after he had been involved in front line activity of the protest. He was then rushed to General Rasheed Daoud Hospital. A preliminary report obtained by local journalist showed the entrance trajectory of the bullet came from a high angle. The bullet lodged in between his heart and left lung. He was scheduled for emergency surgery as soon as a bed opened up. Before one could become available Internal Troops entered his room and refused to allow nurses or doctors see the young man. The Ministry of the Interior sent a letter saying the young man had property belong to the Ministry. It was later explained said property was in fact the bullet still left inside his body. Ghatool died 2 days later from complications from his gunshot wound.

His story however was firmly documented on the Social Media platform Grama, an encrypted instant messaging freeware. Several groups documented the various stages of the incident and spread the information in Zuljik language chats before being translated and spread further. Signs commemorating Ghatool sprung up in numerous protests across the country. "Remember Ghatool" or "Ghatoolro va jod ored" became a rallying cry for many anti-government protesters.

On August 20th major clashes in the square turned deadly. Internal troops used live ammunition to disperse the crowd. An estimated 197 people were killed and over 590 were injured in the event. These clashes continued as Internal Troops attempted to clear out the Square, after three days of clashes with protestors nearly 700 protestors lay dead in the streets and several thousand injured, 7,000 were detained of which nearly 1,000 remain missing and unaccounted for.

Protestors in the square continued to grow even after this attempt to flush out the square. Clashes between riot police and protestors continued. The most violent response to the August Incident was in the northern city of Anourdab where armed civilians fought with and eventually kicked out the local Internal Troop garrison with the help of local police. In the neighborhood of Talat-kush local residents formed a "Community Police Force" and were able to evict the police from the neighbourhood. Police in the Square were being forced out by mass protests.

At 7:38am on September 3rd with the help of local police forces President of the Democratic People's Republic of Zuljikistan Ahmed Rasoul Achekzai and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Azim Taj Jawad Mered staged what they called a "Corrective Action". Led by the two men local police forces were led into the State Building when the General Secretary resided. An arrest order was issued for General Secretary Keshtmand and a group of twelve officers entered his living quarters. A group of Internal Troops were present and attempted to stop the arrest. Eventually a small fire fight broke out, one internal troop and three policemen died as a result and Keshtmand escaped.

Achekzai and Mered quickly established firm control over the government as the situation deteriorated. In the Chaps another attack on civilian protesters took place leading to 109 more deaths. The Minister of the Interior Khilidzai fled alongside Keshtmand as did the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Rural Affairs. The Presidium and Congress, be set by the possibility of total collapse elected to support Achekzai's claim as both president and General Secretary. Later that evening the military was called in to help alleviate the situation in the Square. A minor standoff between the Army and Internal Troops was ended when internal troops retreated and the army was greeted with applause from the crowd.

On September 8th after whirling negotiations within the government Achekzai introduced the Dissolution Order. It established the dissolution of the current state in favor of the creation of a new government through the election of a constitutional assembly. The formation of an interim government was also set up in the order. It was passed unanimously. The various factions within the government had hopes of forming a new communist government in order to maintain the current state, a hope of reforms to hopefully dash the possibilities of a total collapse. After negotiations allies of Keshtmand who stayed in the capitol agreed to back the creation of the Constitutional assembly with the caveat of a future amnesty bill. Ali Hussain Tabasi took up the mantle of leading the pro-Keshtmandi faction of the Communist Party. Achekzai announced elections for November 31st. The country held its breath as criticism mounted towards Achekzai’s reform policies.

The country's north was seized early by the post coup turmoil. The north of the country had always been the wild frontier to communist officials. After the consolidation of the Communist after the Stasnovan invasion the North maintained much of the old social systems that the communist wished to end. While the south and central regions of the country saw extreme poverty and socio-economic oppression during the imperial period the north maintained itself as a economic and cultural powerhouse, the Northern Zuljiki tribes made up much of the ruling class, the House of Mustaghni, a Northern Zuljiki family had ruled as Emirs since the mid 1700’s. The North has been the center of religious life in the country as well and has remained so until today. In 1962 after an increased call for secularization by the Communist Party a general uprising occurred. While much of the rebellions through much of the country were suppressed the rebellions in the north grew and became an insurgency. Groups like Tanzim al-Tawhid wal-Muharib al-Muqaddasi, Jaysh al-Malaki al-Jadid, and Jabhat Tahrir Odamonistan have since the 60’s have engaged in an insurgency in one part or another. While the Communist authorities maintained nominal control of the North the area still sees common practices like Tribal customs, a more ardent adherence to religious tradition, and the continuation of tribal traditions.

The radical grip on the north has been only tangential, their greatest contribution was the degradation of communist authority in its area of operation. Allowing for a conservative island in one of the most radical socialist states existing today. As the situation in Darazarb simmered with the political machinations of the post coup political ecosystem a coalition was being built in the north. Umar Taj Mustaghni, head of the Zhobzai tribe began work in the north. The crafting of a political force outside of the radical opposition. The formation of the Zuljik National Coalition for Democratic Reform helped to bring verious anti-communist, pro-democracy elements in the country under a unified movement. A fragile coalition of religious conservatives and social democrats. The coalition was also made up several tribal amalgamations predominantly from the north.

As the nationwide elections started to come closer, said elections integrity came into question. Elements of the country still under the control of the Internal Troops and the elements of the Communist Party loyal to Keshtmand announced they would not hold elections. They cited a lack of good faith between Keshtmand and Achekzai. They also cited a lack of oversight in the electoral process. Several days later a spokesperson for Keshtmand announced that areas administered by loyalist forces would hold elections on the same day as those administered by the Interim Government. These elections were to help elect a new Emergency Committee to be headed by Keshtmand and the new Emergency Praesidium.

The day of the election happened as scheduled, a day of hope was dashed by irregularities and questionable conduct. The short time from announcement to occurrence meant that many municipalities and rural areas did not have official ballots for the election. Some municipalities formed impromptu Vohkurshahra to help elect officials for the Constitutional Assembly. Other communities used weighted boxes with small stones to determine a victor in their elections. Results trickled in slowly over the course of the month. Results from the cities came first, after the last of the rural results came in the Electoral Committee public announced the results. Nearly 75% of the elected officials were known Achekzai allies and or ran on a pro-Achekzai platform. Roughly 20% of the elected officials would be anti-coup officials, 5% of officials would be pro-democracy officials.

Protests broke out almost immediately. Anti-Coup “Conservative” Communist took to the streets in several Interim Government held cities. Pro-democracy officials sat in the Constitutional Assembly on the first day but left in an organized protest during the oath to the President of the Interim Government. Umar Taj Mustaghni was not present in Darazarb, He was at the Muramajood Building in Anourdab, the largest city in the northern districts. Pro-Democracy Assembly Members would later arrive in Anourdab and take seats in the old Local Workers Council. Later that evening they declared the Establishment of the Democratic Opposition Government.

The Constitutional Assembly, Still in quorum, Started to draft a new constitution. The Drafting stage took only a week. The Speaker of the Constitutional Assembly Hamid Ali Sayyedi showed off the new Constitution. The Constitution maintained much of the same structural components of the older constitution, with strong influences from the Stasnovan constitution. This was again met with several protests. Open fighting between Army and Internal Troops sparked in the aftermath, again never snowballing into something serious but helped to solidify areas of control. Darazarb became a patchwork of factional control. However the countryside outside the city came under Army control. Internal Troops took many cities in and around the Zawaly Mountains, including the city of Kohat and Jala-i Sherif, both cities with populations well over 30,000. The Internal troops also attacked led positions held by local militias belonging to the Jandol Tribe, who were allied with Mustaghni's Democratic Opposition Government. The town of Ghrith i-Pashjun was taken by the Internal Troops. After this Mustaghni announced the formation of an intertribal military force, calling in the United Democratic Resistance Army. Formed from the core of several existing Party Militias and Tribal Forces the army was cobbled together under the command of Major General Hashim Talali Azmaray, former commanding officer of the Vohtafma Special Operations Unit.

As the military situation codified by the end of December a lull in the conflict occurred, all sides unwilling to trigger a general conflict as whirlwind negotiations and talks were conducted to try and hammer out a political solution. Life generally went on as normal. From December 31st till March 1st only about 25 people had died as a result of direct conflict between the opposing sides. However much of this changed the week of March 15th.

A missile struck a large hotel in the city of Barakzayi, it did not explode, it however struck General Secretary Keshtmand as he slept. Reports confirmed by Northern Front open-source investigation linked the weapon back to an aircraft at Mav-e-Panj Air Base. Days later a member of the Praesidium and Military Commander of the Central Military District, Commanding General Sardar Sher Pazhwakwas killed in what has been called a "targeted assassination". An unidentified Stasnovan Official and member of the Emergency Committee Sobir Majid. While no one has be arrested in connection to this assassination it is believed to be a retaliatory attack after the Assassination of Keshtmand. Now with potential Stasnovan military intervention and the Constitutional Committees announcement of the "So-called Loyalist Communist Party" being designated a terrorist group the likelihood of an outbreak in the conflict is greater than ever. Zuljikistan looks to be possibly one of the most violent and devastating conflicts in recent history.

04/22/2020 - Zolevskoy And Volgaria Could be on Collision Course For Conflict in Ausferiland

As the civil war in Ausferiland reaches it's first year, Zolevskoyan involvement in the war has only intensified. So has Volgaria's.

As of April 23rd, the Republic of Zolevskoy Air Force has completed 30-40 sorties per week on average against forces of the so-called Republic of Ausfer-Volgaria, while Zolevskoan ground forces have been assisting the Ausferilandian defense force in repelling rebel assaults. However, Volgaria has deployed it's own armed forces to assist the rebel forces. Although the Zolevskoyan forces have actively avoided attacking targets which could put Volgarian troops in danger, the risk of such an incident happening only grows as both states flex their military muscle in the country.

Just yesterday, the Republic of Zolevskoy Air Force's 124th Tactical Fighter Squadron reported a run-in with a Volgarian Air Force D-200 fighter jet which appeared to be intent on an interception, which forced the VeK-29Z7G to distance itself and turn back before it could conduct it's sortie. The Chief of the Air Forces Staff, General Velichko Dancho, condemned Volgarian "interference with counter-terrorist activities", warning that Zolevskoyan forces reserve the right to defend themselves if Volgarian forces initiate any hostilities.

Several brushes between Volgaria and Zolevskoy have also been reported on the ground. Both state's armies have mostly been standing back to prevent any further incursions into their held territory, although areas where Ausferilandian government forces and rebels clash have seen heavy violence. The country has become an arena for both sides to expand their influence, with Zolevskoy fearing a direct path to it's northwest border if rebel forces come out victorious.

I have family in Ausferiland, apparently people are saying that the rebels have been committing some mass murders while the Volgarian army just stood around and watched.
