The Chazicarian Government was first to announce the new Alliance which was agreed upon on the 18th of January in Nox Mynus. The ICFS will form a large dynamic shift in Atlas, if a further four states which are expected to be accepted into the organization by the 20th of January, would make the ICFS the largest international organization in Atlas. For comparison, the eight likely member states of the ICFS would make it larger than either the CHAVS Union or Vastava Pact, both of which are limited to five states each.

It is expected to increase tensions internationally, but we at ISNS retain hope that ongoing talks between Grozyar President Petre Balan and Valdian President Alexander Sterling will be able to rectify the ongoing international tensions.

Just after the announcement, a vast military parade was held in Veraglia in honour of the new alliance, with soldiers from Chazicaria, as well as the 4th Koz. Gardosztaly, Karahkaznian Airborne troops, and Zóbogyizok soldiers, being the first time since the second Great War that Zóbogyizok soldiers set foot in Grozyar soil, where the 14th Arme-SF Osztaly "Zóbogyizok" took part in the Battle of Veraglia. While relations between Grozav Inima and her ex-colony have been icy since the 1960s, this is hoped to result in a much more pleasant relationship between Grozav Inima and Zóbogyizok.

The Parades lasted just over two hours, where the Chazicarian, Karakhaznian, Grozyar and Zóbogyizok anthems were played, along with a variety of Grozyar military marching songs.

Along the parade route, there was also a skirmish between Grozyar Nationalists and anti-government Anarchists and Communists, approximately 60 communists and anarchists organized for the event, which was intended to disrupt the parade, however, civilian onlookers found themselves in a fistfight with the anti-government activists which ultimately resulted in 19 injured, with the remaining protesters dispersing. The Police have reportedly opened a case of assault on the perpetrators of the counter protest, however, little progress has been made, and the Police Chief of Veraglia said in press conference today: "The issue would receive the all the attention it deserved, and no less."

Today was not a quiet day in Wavaxangrad. It has been a day since the Chazicarian government announced the formation of the ICFS, with Zoboyizakoplayoklot listed as a full member. Initially, this was considered a typo, as ICFS is an almost solely right wing alliance, with Zoboyizakoplayoklot being the only left wing nation listed. However, in a snap press conference this morning, Prime Minister Kawerdrop confirmed that it was not a typo. Zoboyizakoplayoklot was indeed a full member of the ICFS.

This announcement caused shock throughout all of Zoboyizakoplayoklot and Atlas as a whole. Many in Atlas see joining the ICFS as Zoboyizakoplayoklot turning its back on everything the nation has stood for, with the termination of its VP observer status being a the most notable to the international community. Zoboyizakoplayoklot has historically been very cooperative and has had very good relations with the left wing nations the ICFS hopes to defeat, leading many to wonder why they would join the ICFS. On this subject the Prime Minister claimed that the ICFS is Zoboyizakoplayoklots only salvation in a turmoil filled Atlas. Zoboyizakoplayoklot is a constitutional monarchy, and that was the primary reason that Zoboyizakoplayoklot was limited to VP observer status. Many nationalists and supporters of the monarchy viewed Zoboyizakoplayoklots leftist "allies" as sleeping dogs; they were paranoid that should they find reason, they would turn on Zoboyizakoplayoklot and strike down the monarchy, a storied part of Zoboyizakoplayoklots tradition that is widely considered a symbol of national unity. Another justification the PM used for joining the ICFS is regional stability. Songha, a nation which borders Zoboyizakoplayoklot to the southwest, is a prospective member. Then, Karakhaznia lies to the west of Songha, and they are full memebers of the ICFS. While Kawerdrop quoted Auchoian stability and the betterment of trams-Auchoian relations, many of his opponents claim he is only a coward trying to save his own governments skin by bandwagoning with the ICFS. He also briefly touched on free trade with the ICFS members strengthening the Zoboyizakoplayokloti economy, but this was overlooked due to the political outrage.

While the international and political response was widely critical of the political shakeup caused by Zoboyizakoplayoklot joining the ICFS, domestically it was much more personal, especially among ethnic Zobiks. It is a commonly known fact that Zoboyizakoplayoklot is a former colony of Grozav Inima, and while the native Zobiks now make up only 38% of the national population, and the colonial period ended over one hundred years ago, the scars from the Grozyar occupation still burn bright amongst the Zobiks. Memories of genocide feel as recent as last nights episode of A Jukil Life, and as Grozav Inima is in the ICFS and now officially allied with Zoboyizakoplayoklot, we can assure you that feelings of betrayal by the government are commonplace amongst the People of the Resting Praries.

In a shocking twist of events, Songhese Foreign Minister, Kyung Ji-Yeong, signed an agreement early this morning in Nox Mynus which formally finalized Songha's ascension to the International Coalition of Free States. The agreement, which has been in talks for a few days, was thought by many to be just a bargaining chip between Songha and CHAVS, to discourage them from supporting Chilokver in the brewing tensions on the border. However, clearly Songhese leaders thought that wasn't enough, and went through with signing it. The agreement was also signed by representatives from Chazicaria, Grozav Inima, Karakhaznia and Zóbogyizok.
The agreement enacted a mutual defense treaty with all 5 nations, and also legally binded Songha to end its mutual defense treaty with Huda, one of its long-time allies. Kyung Ji-Yeong justified this, stating

"Huda, while a good friend to Songha, will always support its other ally Chilokver over us. This is most unfortunate, since Chilokver is staunchly committed to making itself an enemy of the Songhese people. It is for this reason that we have opted to break off our alliance with Huda in favour of the ICFS."

In addition, the agreement is likely to alienate Songha from other diplomatic partners, especially Acronius, Sde Dov and Zerinfriom. At the same time, however, it strengthens our ties with other diplomatic partners such as Elesar, Mairland, Coraspia, Mbuti and Yakzistan - All prospective members of the ICFS. Shortly after the alliance was announced, Her Highness and former Empress, Oumeri, announced her effective resignation, stating

"I have served Songha for long enough. The torch was intended to be passed before this, indeed, but I stayed in power to ensure Songha's future for the next Empress. With this agreement, I feel confident in passing the reigns to my heir apparent, Valei."

Valei became acting Sovereign early this morning, and has already started to undertake imperial activities, such as signing the agreement between Songha and the ICFS, giving it the royal decree. Songha is expected to greatly increase its cooperation with bordering allies, Karakhaznia and Zóbogyizok, in the following weeks.

At 12:30 PM, during a special session of the Proletarian Liberation Party(more commonly known as the Gorbatovic Communist Party.) Interim-Premier Polyansky declared that a successor has been chosen to take over as Premier, and General Secretary of the PLP. For the most part, people expected Interim-Premier Polyansky to fully inherit the job as Premier. But to which he declared that Minister of Internal Affairs, Konstantin Voroshilov, was elected by the PLP Politburo to succeed Alexei Kozlov. To which Interim-Premier Polyansky further added that, he would retire from his political career as Vice-Premier, as it is now the new Premier's choice to pick his new Vice-Premier, to which he declares Minister of Defence, Adrik Petrovsky as his Vice-Premier.

Premier's Konstantin Voroshilov's first words as Premier were, "My fellow compatriots, I wholeheartdly accept this honor of becoming your new Premier. As the passing of my predecessor shocked all of us, we must now progress from that, as Atlas is at the brink of war and Gorbatov needs a strong leader to lead the fight of the proletariat. I will work to ensure that my beloved country is safe for its citizens, and strong to fight off the fascist aggressors. Furthermore, I assure you that the progress my predecessor initialized will continue on to the future, to which will ensure Gorbatov's further rise to power in Atlas.

To which he was given the medal of the Order of Leonid Rykov(Started after the death of the Eternal Marshal of the Proletariat, Leonid Rykov in 1954.) In addition, Premier Voroshilov's first action in power, was the mobilization of several PLA reserves, to which he stressed was a response to the military posturing of several Atlasian states.

In a move that was expected to have happened days ago, the Zoboyizakoplayokloti Ministry of Defence officially announced the activation of all reserve forces, in addition to a nation wide mobilization effort. This comes as no surprise to anyone at all, as many other nations have already begun mobilizing and have activated their reserves. As Atlasian tensions continue to rise, the Ministry of Defence has stated that it is best to at least be ready, as an attack on a regional ally, or worse still Zoboyizakoplayoklot itself, is becoming increasingly possible as the day goes by.

Despite international unsteadiness, one piece of affirmation did come to Zoboyizakoplayoklot. Songha, Zoboyizakoplayoklots neighbour to the southwest, has officially signed on as a member of the ICFS. Coupled with Karakhaznia, Songha gives Zoboyizakoplayoklot a wealth of defensive cushion in Atlas, as the neutral nation of Mirevia is now the only nation on mainland Auchoi that could attack Zoboyizakoplayoklot without having to go through an ally first. Regardless; they are not widely regarded as a security threat.

One potential threat however, is Máharlika. Coming from across the Eastern Sea (naming of which is disputed), the Maharlikan nation is known to be leaning towards CHAVS, and they are easily able to launch an attack on mainland Zoboyizakoplayoklot.

Early this morning those living in the Dijkhuizen in the North-Western Territories Region (NWTR) awoke to see soldier marching in the street and sandbag emplacements at key locations in and around the city. Several cities in the NWTR were subject to these sudden military maneuvers today as it marks the first day of a new year for Rausenburg. January 19, 1939 is the official birthday of our nation and it was always celebrated the same way by the military: Military training. Many outside nations see Rausenburg a new comer on the international stage and the Ministry of Arms wish to always see this as away to improve the image of the Rauseburgian Forces.

With ICFS on all sides and with the state keeping with their bid to keep the nation clear will likely attempt to broker a non-aggression act with Vastava, ICFS and CHAVS to attempt to circumvent the coming conflict. However the Ministry of Arms has called in all Militia senior staff and has sent out a call for all emergency stockpiles to be filled encase the worst come to pass and conflict ensues.

We have a leak that our leader, Seinna Johannsson, will be addressing the nation later today and conduct a meeting with senior staff at the Leonhofen Parliament Building just after to what is this reporters opinion as a battle strategy meeting to attempt to save the nation from having to support any one side and with out fighting any of our neighbours. One could only hope that our nation could come out of this unscaved.

Sde Dov ratifies CHAVS treaty

SDE DOV CITY - The National Assembly voted TBA in favor a bill approving Sde Dov's membership in the Chilokver-Huda-Valdiu Strategic Union (CHAVS) on the third reading.

Over the three days, fierce debates between the centrist National Front and the leftist People's Party were held. On its first reading, the bill narrowly passed, while on the second reading, the bill passed with a larger majority. During the closing arguments of the debate before the vote, Rep. Eugenio Sotto of the Sde Dovian National Front said:

"It is up to you lawmakers to decide. Do you want Sde Dov to stand alone while invaders trample our shores, or do you want allies that we can depend on when this happens, God forbid?"

On the opposing side, Rep. Francois Benoit from the Sde Dovian People's Party said:

"Think of all the Sde Dovian lives we will be put on the line defending other nations. The primary duty of the Sde Dovian solder is to defend the Union and its people, not other countries."

After the vote passed, Prime Minister Edward Dupond said to reporters as he exited the National Assembly building:

"Today is a great day for Sde Dov. Our membership in CHAVS will strengthen Sde Dov's standing among the international community, and reinforces the spirit of cooperation that our nation is based upon."

The Defense Ministry welcomed the development in a statement by spokesperson Maj. Roland Chaves.

"The Sde Dovian Armed Forces welcomes Sde Dov's accession into the Chilokver-Huda-Acronius Strategic Union (CHAVS). This treaty strengthens our relationship with some of our long-term allies like Huda and Acronius. We look forward to working with our new allies, especially in the face of the volatile global situation."

Sde Dov expressed its intentions to join the alliance late last year, but concerns brought up by a few members of the negotiations teams prolonged negotiations. As a result of the prolonged negotiations, a ratification vote was unable to be called for before Christmas recess. The President was supposed to be on hand for the official ceremony announcing the formation of the alliance held last January 6 in Prevale, Valdiu, but due to the political deadlock, Putrov did not attend the ceremony. A temporary agreement was reached allowing for greater cooperation between Sde Dov and CHAVS nations, which was approved by the National Assembly on January 14.

President Vladimir Putrov is expected to fly to Prevale this Friday to formally sign the Articles of Membership on behalf of Sde Dov.

Today proved to be a momentous day in the history of space exploration for Cinoth. The redesigned shuttle Apex 9 completed it's fist successful re-entry into the atmosphere after a 13 hour mission of delivering supplies to the Suttaku Station as well as retrieving experiments and two passengers to take back to Atlas. The Apex 9 featured extensive redesigned in it's fins and superstructure, boasting a much more streamlined appearance to an almost flat and fishlike appearance to increase the ease of piloting the craft. The ceramic plating was also overhauled boasting an even safer flight for our brave explorers and scientists. Among other various minor improvements the shuttle is also an incredible 43 meters long and it boasts a wingspan of nearly 70 meters, making it one of the largest shuttles to ever exist. The Apex 9 fulfills it's function of a passenger and cargo transport superbly but it can also be refitted with a fully stocked lab or bay for launching satellites as well as other components.

Live feed: announcement ends months-long cold war with Huda

LOCHIEL- Today, Mairland declared war on the nations of Huda and Valdiu, following similar declarations by Grozav Inima and Chazicaria.

The outbreak of war signals the beginning of what is likely to be a destructive conflict between the CHAVS Union and the International Coalition of Free States, or ICFS, whose formation Mairland was a party to last week. The cold war between Mairland and Huda which began in October following a hasty Mairish withdrawal from Ziadistan has also at last ended.

Below is the full text of the Minister of Defense's statement to the press.

"Today, at 11:00 AM, the Mairish Chambers voted to declare war on the nations of Huda and Valdiu. Formal notes were handed to the ambassadors of both countries half an hour later. The Kingdom of Mairland is not at war with the other members of the CHAVS Union, but we do expect that undeclared hostilities will become inevitable in the coming weeks. The Mairish Armed Forces will commit themselves to decisive multilateral actions alongside our allies, and this Government will devote its full energies to the coming conflict. We ask that Mairish citizens across the country display their patriotism and loyalty in this time of crisis. If emergency regulations are introduced by the Government in the following weeks, it is requested that the people of this great nation bear them quietly and without resentment.

Bonjour et Kon'nichiwa, welcome to Newsroom Today on the KBC Network at the top of the hour, I'm Jwa Hae-Yun. Breaking news within Auchoi. Following the downing of a Chazicarian government plane by two Valdian fighters at the request of the Chilokveri military, war has broken out between Chazicaria and Chilokver. By extension, it means war between the alliances of CHAVAS, containing Chilokver, Valdiu, Huda, and Acronius and ICFS which contains Zoboyizakoplayoklot, Karakhaznia, Chazicaria, Grozav Inima, and Songha.

At this time the circumstances that led to the plane being shot down is unclear with the two different sides offering different stories to the events leading up to it. What is clear is that Kirishima has no intention of getting involved according to Dirigeant Seong Soo-Yeon. While it is entirely likely that Kirishima can not afford to be against CHAVAS due to being surrounded by many of its members on of which being the friendly and allied nation of Acronius, Kirishima seems to want nothing to do with the alliance at this time. On the other side of the conflict lies Songha which is another nation that Kirishima has historically had favorable relations with but lies in an alliance that serves no geopolitical purpose to Kirishima and contains Chazicaria a foreign nation that is seen by many in Kirishima as causing trouble for those who actually live in Auchoi. Dirigeant Seong had recently addressed the situation in a press conference at The Federal Palace.

"...I feel that the conflict that has broken out is a validation as to why I seek to avoid being a member of large defense alliances where one member must come to the aid of another. Here we have a diplomatic murky situation and hour by hour it has been nothing but nations entering what should be a private conflict between two parties. I trust that due to our standing with the great nation of Arconius that the fears of a CHAVAS attack out of nowhere is nonexistent and geopolitically our historic friendship with Songha limits Kirishima being a practical target of the ICFS. With that said the Taisuist Republic will be alert our navy and submarines will remain patrolling our waters as usual and our Armed Forces will be vigilant. One needs to be active in order to defend one's neutrality and I am committed to making sure a Kirishinan does not die for another country for a war with unclear origins...."

With Kirishima officially committed to remaining neutral, it now remains up to other nations to respect it. We at the KBC have also been told that Seong Soo-Yeon is considering speaking to various leaders in the coming days to reduce the chances of miscommunication between Kirishima and various warring parties as well as strengthen relations with other peaceful and neutral nations. With the beginning of War between the CHAVS Union and ICFS, the Grozyar Republican Defence Force has bolstered the manpower of the Republican Guard, with the formations of two new Divisions.

The first of these Divisions, named the 6. "Iosef Aur" Gárdosztály consists of members of the 1st Mechanized Division, and includes three Guards Mechanized Combat Regiments, alongside two Guards Armoured Combat Regiments, for a total of 24,938 men. They are currently undergoing conversion training for the new equipment and tactics of the Republican Guard.

The second Division is named the 7. "Őrei Szabadság" Gárdosztály, and consists of large numbers of foreign volunteers, alongside the base of Grozyar GIGF personnel. It has an identical structure to the Iosef Aur division, with three Guards MCRs and two Guards ACRs.

The two Divisions are to be sent to Elesar within three days, where they will continue training and be stationed along the Stasnovan Border.

Today came news that most expected, but will still have some disappointed, and others excited.

The draft has been reinstated, with notices being sent out to many of the nation's young men and women that they're to report to their local recruiting station within the week. This initiative is likely a result of the Army's decision to increase the number of combat ready brigades and divisions by a sizable, though classified, number. Already, recruits are being bused off to boot camp in record numbers, and it's been confirmed that the Army has called back veterans in order to act as instructors for the new wave of fighters.

It's expected that these men will be equipped with a combination of stored arms and new manufacture weapons, see as how the government has personally ordered defense contractors to maximize production of virtually every weapon in the Chazicarian arsenal. This will be in combination with the recent 150 billion Chazic increase in defense spending that passed just days ago, which covered the cost of multiple new navy ships, aircraft, and the facilities to support them.

It should be noted that the orders given today came in a second emergency defense spending bill, increasing the budget by another 100 billion Chazics, bringing the total budget up to 550 billion. The observant reader will notice that the increases in spending will put the Imperial Republican government into a large deficit for the first time in decades, something that is only legal in emergency times.

Following the shooting down of a Chazicarian flight by Valdian and Chilokveri military assets, war has broken out between the ICFS and CHAVS. Many countries have made their separate declarations of war, and this afternoon, the Songhese Royal Council voted unaninmously to declare war on Chilokver and Valdiu. In addition, they voted unanimously to sever all diplomatic, trade and military ties with Acronius, Sde Dov, Huda, Brytene and Zerinfriom. In addition, former Empress Oumeri has rejoined the Royal Council less than a week after her abdication, upon request from Empress Valei for her experience and knowledge in leading Songha.
Embassy staff of those respective countries have been given 48 hours to vacate the country or face detainment until the end of hostilities, and Songhese embassy staff in those countries are preparing to return to Hyugao. Protests erupted in Hyugao against Valdiu and Chilokver, centered around their respective embassies, where at the Chilokveri embassy, the flag was snatched from the main entrance and burned before police dispersed the protest.
This is the first time Songha has been in a formal state of war with another nation since the Karakhaznian-Songhese War from 1970 to 1972, though on a positive note, we now fight together instead of against each other. The military has begun to mobilize and an estimated 280,000 Army Personnel are estimated to be stationed in the Eastern Provinces bordering Chilokver, with a further 300,000, including 200,000 called up reservists, expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

KYŪKOKAN-SONGHESE TENSIONS SOAR; AMBASSADOR WITHDRAWN AND WAR IMMINENT

Kyūkokan Ambassador to Songha announced her return to Tokita and the embassy's immediate closure

In front of a crowd of press in the Kyūkokan Embassy in Songha, Kyūkoku's Ambassador to Songha Megumi Abe announced she had received orders to close the embassy and return to Kyūkoku immediately. This comes as no surprise as tensions between the two nations have soared to new heights, after Kyūkokan Chancellor Fujimura declared the Tsukuji Islands should be Kyūkokan given the archipelago, which belong to Songha since 1900, are ethnically Kyūkokan. This sparks a new light controversial argument that died in the 1970s, and the public were quick to ally themselves with their leader, calling for the islands to be returned to Kyūkoku 'forcefully or not'. The navy has also been mobilized, with the grounds by the government established as 'to defend Kyūkoku as conflict erupts globally', although many suspect it to be mobilizing for an invasion of the islands, which holds one of the world's largest untapped deposits of oil and natural gas.

The embassy, built in 1981 after the pacifist government in Kyūkoku at the time established a peaceful relationship with Songha, has long been the victim of vandalism and protest from the Songhese people as the poor relationship between the two countries has only since further decayed and degraded over time. Ambassador Megumi Abe was only appointed to her position in December of 2016 after the former Ambassador for 23 years, Jasper Komorowski (a Kradowskan-Kyūkokan diplomat), died of a heart attack at the embassy, and Ambassador Megumi Abe (Abe) has been labelled a ultra-nationalist leftist, and although she is an independent on the political stage, she allies with the government left-wing nationalist Democratic Left. She is expected to fill the vacancy on the ambassadorship to Östenlund-Kradowska within the coming weeks after an announcement from her spokesperson said she had been 'instated as Ambassador to our closest ally', presuming he meant Ö-K.

War is now imminent between the two nations. Tsukuji Islands, an archipelago between Songha and Kyūkoku, which has an ethnic Kyūkokan populated despite being owned by Songha since 1900 is the prime target of an invasion. The world's largest, or one of the largest, untapped deposits of oil, gas and other resources lay beneath the seabed around the islands, and as the Kyūkokan economy enters a period of stagnation, an influx of such resources could lead to exponential growth in an already strong economy. As the navy has been mobilized, and expected the air force too, it appears an invasion force will quickly be gathered. As conflict in Auchoi erupts in Huda, this new conflict will be sure to devastate the continent. Neither of the two nations are nuclear capable, however this war is effectively over oil, and a strong retaliation from Songhese forces could lead to numerous deaths.

Just minutes ago, the President of the Karakhaznian Federation issued an official declaration of war on the Karlaesist Meritocracy of Chilokver, the Greater Hudian Republic, and the Republic of Valdiu. After tensions spiked across the world for weeks, negotiations failed, and peace seemed less and less plausible, the Chazicarians claimed that a shot was fired by Valdiu on Chazicarian assets in Chilokver, a claim that was later validated by an independent investigative report into the incident.

"This shows the truth - the truth being that the Valdians are absolutely nothing more than a bunch of warmongers. If you denied it before," said Koram Dakanov, the speaker for President Rustam Ismailov during his official declaration of war, "I hope to God that you are smart enough to see it now. Valdiu has made a series of very, very ill-minded decisions, all of which were sanctioned by the tyrants in Chilokver, Huda, and Acronius. The whole world will now pay a price for the Sterling administration's stupidity."

Finally, the short-lived iron curtain which has formed between the ICFS and CHAVS has fallen in a blaze of glory. Grozyar tanks moving through Ziadistan are crossing into Huda, the Chazicarian Navy is mobilising for war in the Fale Ocean, and now, we are receiving reports indicating that Karakhaznian infantry and heavy armour in Nuraz are now crossing the border with Chilokver in the Fukan Prefecture. No shots have been fired yet, but the silence in the night will be broken soon enough - it is now an inevitability.

A week of victories
Grozyar forces occupy Ziadistan and restore the Raj; Mairish airstrike kills over 100 as coalition prepares to advance into Huda

ZIADISTAN- In a series of events no doubt gratifying to all Mairish patriots, the country of Ziadistan was rapidly occupied by Grozyar ground forces this week. The Raj, deposed last summer following the failed Mairish intervention in the Hindu nation, was restored to his throne under a pro-ICFS government in the first victory of what many across the world are dubbing the "Third Great War".

ICFS coalition forces are now positioning themselves for an advance into Huda, with Grozyar, Karakhanzian, and Chazicarian troops assembling in Ziadistan poised to deliver the first in what allied governments hope are a series of knockout blows that will force the Greater Hudian Republic out of the war and allow the coalition to focus on its next main target: Valdiu, which sits in the Fale Ocean and poses a threat to Mairish commerce. In Chilokver, native forces as well as Acronian assets are currently engaged in combat with a Songhese landing force. The progress of the invasion is uncertain at present.

In a press statement released earlier today, the Ministry of Defense stated that, yesterday, three Mairish aircraft destroyed a Hudian ground installation in Ziadistan which was garrisoned by Ziadi conscripts loyal to the pro-Hudian regime. The warplanes, IDI-126 Heralds, launched three air-to-ground missiles at the base, which was completely destroyed. The MoD estimates that over 100 Ziadis were killed and that fuel reserves critical to the Ziadi loyalist military effort were rendered unusable by the airstrike. Just hours after the mission, large elements of the Ziadi Army revolted, a mutiny which was the critical factor in the rapid collapse of the Hudian presence in Ziadistan and the restoration of the Raj.

The Ministry of Defense also announced the activation of five territorial divisions, totaling 40,000 personnel, with the mobilization timetable ending on February 1st. Military analysts predict these divisions will be used to guard the homeland while large elements of the Regular Army are deployed overseas to assist in multilateral ICFS operations.

After a photo op with the Minister of Defense and senior military officials during a meeting at Dray House, the First Minister appeared outside to deliver a statement. It read:

"I, like all Mairish, am gladdened by the victories which we and our allies have achieved in the past days. This Government remains absolutely dedicated to the success of the Mairish Armed Forces in the critical missions which they are engaging in alongside our allies. I call upon all patriots to unite in solidarity behind our flag and support the war effort by any means necessary- whether it is knitting socks or blankets to send to our brave airmen in Ziadistan, or enlisting to serve your country at home or at the front. And I would like to assure the public that the situation is by no means dangerous for their domestic safety. While we deliver punishing blows to our enemies overseas, there is no way that a foreign power can damage Mairish property or take Mairish lives at home. Thank you."

The Royal Commission for Charities, in line with Mr. Dalzell's statement, moved onto a "war footing" this past hour, announcing on its website that it would only be accepting material donations of "homemade goods for our armed forces".

SEKERE - A small Bakwangan armoured force made up of M4 Shermans and M8 Greyhounds pushed through the jungle to attack a small hamlet that is used as a hideout for the Zuwa Islamic Brigade, a militant Islamic force. This came after a police officer was badly wounded when he was stabbed and taken by the militants who operated out of the hamlet. The Bakwangan forces started their attack from Highway 24, and surrounded the location of the hamlet. Police forces assisted in the operation, and an artillery strike was called onto the position.

Then, the armoured forces pushed in, encountering heavy resistance from the Zuwa People's Brigade militants. According to Dahomeyan military sources, the majority of the Zuwa People's Brigade militants were killed during the attack. About twenty attempted to escape, but where quickly caught by the surrounding policemen from the town of Sekere just nearby. The militants were kept in the Sekere jail for several hours, before being transported to Porto Boukoumbé where they will be questioned by military forces for their involvement and secrets of the ZIB.

One M8 Greyhound armoured car was knocked out, and 12 Bakwanga State Gendarmiere soldiers were killed in the battle. A military funeral will be held for them in their respective home towns, and President Ahmed Kérékou has offered his condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers. The families of the deceased terrorists however are being looked for, while some have already been detained and are awaiting questioning from Bakwangan authorities in Porto Boukombé.

Second Lieutenant Abijawe Abujawe, a member of the attacking forces agreed for an interview for the 'La Banniere Blanche' journalists to report on the situation. One of our top journalists in the field, Amadi Osion accompanied the forces during the battle and asked the Second Lieutenant about the operation, and this is what he responded.

Amadi: How did the forces find the camp in the first place?

Abijawe: Policemen were getting attacked and harrased in the nearby town of Sekere, and a few civillians apparently found the location of the camp. To check, we sent several police officers who were met with bullets by the terrorists. They withdrew, called us, and we surrounded the town for the operation. The terrorists were very underequipped, so it was easy to deal with.

Amadi: Now, how did one of the armoured cars got knocked out and 12 soldiers killed if the soldiers were underequipped?

Abijawe: The terrorists had set many traps and mines, which caught many soldiers who were unfortunately killed by the traps and heavy entrenched positions of the underequipped and undertrained terrorists.

Amadi: What do you feel about the whole fiasco?

Abijawe: To be perfectly honest, I wish that the Zuwa People's Brigade can be exterminated before the end of the year. The Zuwa People's Brigade drags people into joining the Brigade, then using them as a sort of cannon fodder. It's a horrific cycle, and I hope that they can be destroyed.

Early today the 27th Motorized Guards Infantry and 11th Light Armor Brigade were activated and according to General Stanisław Bartosz, commander of the South Laskowza Corps located near the border with Karakhazina in the Laskowza Mountains. The 27th Motorized Guards Infantry division and the 11th Light Armor Brigade were both in the Knyszyn Socialist Republic, with it's boundaries along the border with Karakhazina.

The sudden movement of these units, to reinforce a border patrolled mainly by small army garrisons stationed along roads is in the words of Stanisław simply a defensive measure. Karakhazina has been engaged in part of what has been considered the Third Great War, against the states of Huda, and before January 24th Zladistan. Stanisław states that this action is simply a defensive measure, and that the move is not intended to threaten or offend the nation of Karakhazina. As of current neither Presidents Sieniawa Podhaļanski or Aureisz Rzeszów have commented on the movement of these troops except for Sieniawa stating that Stanisław's comment on the action is correct.

A certainly interesting action! I live in the Knyszyn SR, directly at the border. Perhaps we will finally get to see a real big number of troops! Perhaps they even may bring some commerce into our town!
