The caramel is grown on-site by a specially-designed organism which keeps it just the right temperature and consistency. Its hard carapce disguises it as an ordinary small appliance, but a keen observer looking over the counter will notice the difference.

Yes.

The real question is, does a League of all Leagues that do not contain themselves contain itself?

Puppet idea: In 2040, as technological unemployment gripped the nation, the government axed most welfare programs and issued a basic income of 33% of GDP per capita. It is now 30-40 years later, and that basic income is around $55,000 USD2015. Society is currently dominated by the top 10% - an elite group of business owners, engineers, computer programmers, and scientists that are continuing to advance the economy. To enter this group is difficult, since in practical terms, only those with the highest IQ/skill can hope to compete with them, and it requires years of education. An additional 15% are part time employees - often maintenance personnel or others performing small jobs still not handled by robots or handled more cheaply by humans. Some of the remaining population do Etsy-type stuff and attract some followers as artists. The standard for the elites is always increasing as AI becomes more potent, and each year a few percent more lose their jobs.

A significant portion of the population are struggling with feelings of meaninglessness and existential despair, stuck in a world that doesn't need them and seems almost oblivious to their existence. They ease their pain with VR video games and dank memes. Clinical depression has hit record highs. The elites live in glittering metropoli which would be the envy of any modern first-world nation.

Since a lot of good fiction takes place in border times between changes, it should probably also have recently discovered an intelligence booster technology - a disruptive technology for their way of life, since others would then be able to compete with the elites, and the elites would also use it on themselves.

Done.

By the way, F7 is getting fuckfest-y as of late. Two threads were locked and forbidden from new incarnations due to the flamewar going on and I'm sure the mods are having a tighter grip; not that it would be bothering me since all I do is take a bag of doritos, read all the posts in the threads I posted in before (for OCD reasons) and crunch [cringe] at the drama.

Danke. I don't personally look at F7 much, because I participated in a few way back when, and they have yet to leave my View my Posts.

Same here. Except for me it has been months, so all but like 4 have dropped off as they died or got locked at 500 pages.

Unrelated Announcement: I am planning to do a forum-based game extremely similar to the game Mafia (aka Werewolf), but based in the Excidium Planetis canon (It will be on Chri-irah). It would be fast paced (short posts, expected at least once every 48 hours with telegrams sent every 48 hours as well), open to anyone interested, and I would serve as a Game Moderator.

If you bother reading dispatches the rules and roles are already there.

Who wants to play a little game?

same tbh. Mostly with Frencoverse members, but I think the wiki has made our factbooks obsolete.

So, Aeiou, since you and I have sort of unofficially wrapped things up in New Tolbi (unless you'd like me to make an exiting post for The Devourer), should we make Ctuhlhu's dinner party and RP just for shitz 'n gigglez?

I'm probably responsible for a good one-half of the views on Devourer's factbooks because of this.

Also this reminds me that I should repay Devourer for creating their new factbooks - better churn out some more reading material!

Danke.

If you have read/end up reading my factbook titled 'It', know that I was very tired when writing it, which explains why it's so short and quite possibly very low-quality in terms of writing. If you want, though, you can add it to the Postbrain compilation. Just put 'Infinity' for all of the fields if you do. There is no image that accurately describes it, so just use any image of a fractal if you feel like it. Again, it's up to you wether or not you add it, because saying that it's part of the military is kind of a a stretch.

What was especially weird about it? Besides the fact that it was a billion years long and involved space amoebas and universal seaweed, it was pretty tame for me.
