The Estogian Broadcaster, RVC are in an argument with the Nightomese Broadcaster, KVC, over which nation should represent them in the 56th WorldVision Song Contest. Due to the fact that only two nations from the Britonish Bloc are allowed to participate, and with Britonisea receiving automatic privileges to participate, the other two battle it out. However, it seems that the Aloquirbic Broadcaster VEFE:ALO would also like the chance to participate in the contest as they haven't participated in a long time. To settle the dispute, the Britonish Broadcaster, IGBK has decided to host a national final in order to decide which nation should have the rights to go to the contest.

During this national final, the songs will be different but produced by the same label. The songs has been produced by the Britonish, but it is up to the participating nations (Aloquirbe, Estogium and Nightom) to decide the lyrics, choreography and most importantly, the artists. One of the leading Britonish producers stated, "TI have made sure that the songs are good and can go for in the contest. I really hope each nation likes them!" The songs were given out in a raffle, labelled "Song 1," "Song 2," and "Song 3," before the broadcasters were introduced to the songs.

"Welcome to the Cross-Border Battle! Tonight in Island of the Blessed, three acts will be performing tonight hoping to go to the WorldVision Song Contest! However, this comes with a twist. Three nations are running for the rights to be the one to go to the contest. In order of performance, Aloquirbe, Estogium and then Nightom. All countries have had success somewhat in the contest. Election Results

The Kannapian elections have passed once again and we are proud to report a record turnout of 82% of the population! The candidates who were running were all talented and held the best honor in their campaigns. President Christopher Spencer was running for re-election against two other candidates for the Presidency: Robert Ollies and Elizabeth Meddle. The results from the Presidential election were quite unsurprising. Robert Ollies took 2% of the vote, Elizabeth Meddle took 13% of the vote, and Christopher Spencer won re-election with 85% of the vote.

In the Vice President election, Max Chand was running for re-election against opponents Holden Sheritan and Jasmina Brighton. Max Chand won a very low 10% of the vote. It was quite the surprise since Chand was expected to take the office again. Jasmina Brighton won 15% of the vote and Holden Sheritan won the vice presidency with 75% of the vote.

Vice President Sheritan Visits South Kannap

Today, just three days after his election, Vice President Holden Sheritan is visiting the nation of South Kannap. This is the first time that a member of the high government has visited South Kannap since 1985. The meeting is to commit to improving relations between Kannap and her former colony. South Kannap is the only former colony of Kannap that has not joined the Commonwealth Organisation of Kannapian Societies. The organisation maintains strong and kind relations between Kannap and her former colonies.

In recent years, South Kannap's leadership has been leaning towards joining the organisation. South Kannapian Prime Minister Anna Lee has been touring her nation giving speeches about why they should join the organisation. South Kannapian Chancellor Madison Connelly has not be as outspoken about the issue, but she supports joining the organisation. According to a 2005 poll conducted by the Kannapian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an estimated 43% of South Kannapians supported joining the Commonwealth Organisation of Kannapian Societies. In 2008, South Kannap sent a delegation of 10 athletes to the Societal Games but they won no medals. In 2010, South Kannap was refused entry to the games until 2016. In 2016, the nation sent 200 athletes to the Societal Games.

Vice President Sheritan plans on spending ten days in South Kannap to negotiate the South Kannapian nation's entry into the Commonwealth Organisation of Kannapian Societies. President Christopher Spencer gave a short comment when we contacted him, "We believe that South Kannap has a home in the Commonwealth Organisation and I support their entry fully. I hope we can come to an agreement."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to comment.

Speaker: Minister of National Defence of the Federation of Arioslavia General-Major Sergey Kirilov begins the inspection of the troops.

As the cars meet halfway, an officer in one of them stands up and salutes.

Officer: Comrade Minister! General Viktor Suzin, Commander of the Telgrad Garrison - at your service! The parade is ready!

Minister salutes and both cars move between the columns of soldiers. The orchestra plays ceremonial march Slavsya.

CyberLegion - Iron Arena IV ultimate champions

Yesterday evening, around 20:00, Tushlark Stadium was full of people. Tickets were sold out, fans were cheering from their spots and noise level was higher than President Regin Duke's latest poll results. However, there was no football match taking place. Grass field was empty, and everyone was paying attention at the huge LCD screens instead. The reason everyone had showed up was because of something called Iron Arena IV Ultimate Clash.

Now, for those who have no idea what the last five words of previous sentence were supposed to mean, IAIVUC is one of the biggest annual esports events in Togonistan. Professional and amateur teams from all over the nation can sign up to compete in the tournament. Online qualification tournament started in January, and after 4 months, top 16 teams came together to show off their skills in front of live audience and find out who is the ultimate champion.

We spoke with Aiden Park (better known by his gamer tag ''Parkinson'') from Wolahem Gaming. When we asked him what it takes to play in front of audience like this, he said: ''Training, lots and lots of training. I have been playing Iron Arena since the first game was released somewhere around 2008 and went competitive in 2010. Since then, i have spent atleast 8 hours every day playing the game.''

What makes people spend so many hours on a video game? Well, it could have something to do with the fact that the prize pool for Ultimate Clash is a whooping 3 million TGA. That's right, there are some big moneys moving around here. As Trey ''HDSlayer'' Jones, Captain of Nebula Esports team says: ''For professional players like me, this is our daily job. Pro teams get about 10 grand simply from sponsorships every month. That means about 1000 per face. And that is only sponsor money, more will come from prize pools of different competitions.''

Ultimate Clash tournament was won by CyberLegion this year, after they defeated Wolahem Gaming in the final. For this achievement, CyberLegion team got awarded 2 million TGA. ''Winning this competition basically means you are the biggest badass in whole country. It's just like Premier League, only for esports,'' says Eddy Niue, a long-time esports fan, ''Esports get more and more popular each year and it might not take long until the government start financing it just like real sports.''

That statement is very true by the way. TNTV even considered broadcasting the competition live on TV, but went on to broadcast Premier League football match at that time instead. However, 200 000 people watched the livestream on internet and Tushlark Stadium's 30 000 seats were all filled up.

WorldVision 55 Ratings are out, and it is not good...

WorldVision Song Contest 55 in Izmedu only managed to gain 29% of TV Viewers (38.2 mil)

Despite an amazing bonanza in Izmedu for the 55th Edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, only 29% of TV viewers. This is an all time low for the flagship channel, BVC (1), as this is the lowest viewing percentage on BVC (1) ever to be broadcast. 11.07 million, on average, watched the contest in Izmedu, peaking up to 11.71 million near the end of broadcast, when Mehkl Maddox Ajax was announced 9th place, while Nightom's Matinee Schylestreake was announced the winner. Despite the high amount of people watching, this does not compare to WorldVision's 54; those who watched the contest in Ekoz.

Although this is the lowest on BVC (1), the channel remains optimistic of the future, saying that they will be able to gain 20 million people watching again. The last time this way secured was WorldVision 51, when Britonisea hosted in Kyvivre. It is expected that, due to google searches, the percentage of people watching the contest in Besini will decrease to 26% with an average of 37.5 million people able to watch. BVC did bid, alongside STE, for the rights to host in Doportedas for the country's 25th anniversary, but had lost out due to the committee voting after broadcaster's voted only to end up in a tie. The committee fully voted for the Besini bid. The director of BVC stated that "This may have been the best decision due to how badly WorldVision is doing in the rankings. WorldVision has officially sunk below World Hit Festival in the rankings, and I am not sure sure whether this is a blip or whether this will follow through. Maybe, waiting to bid for the WorldVision would be good for btoh viewers and the community. However, if the contest comes back to Britonisea, we look forward to hosting a quick and smooth competition to the highest of standards."

Jacob Carew's World Hit Festival 2nd place was viewed by over 16 million. It is not yet certain whether Britonisea will be participating in the 32nd World Hit Festival, but BVC has stated that it is unlikely it will return until World Hit Festival 34. Etela Tomac is supposed to perform for Britonisea, and while BVC has stated that the first edition it returns Etela will represent us, it may not happen in World Hit Festival 33.

The prestige World Hit Festival community frowns on the brutal slaughter of Jasper Hunt.

During the broadcast of the 32nd World Hit Festival, screeching and grunting from Jasper Hunt and Daniel Richards respectively were heard, and we have had confirmation that Daniel Richards, the popular Radio host, has killed Jasper Hunt, a popular show presenter.

You may wake up to hear that Jasper Hunt, who has been on the commentating scene for both the World Hit Festival and WorldVision Song Contest, has been murdered by Daniel Richards - his usual commentating partner. The news has come as a shock as both commentators are highly looked at in the eyes of the Britonish, and this devastating news breaks the hearts of many fans of both of them, especially Jasper Hunt who lost his life.

Daniel Richards: Murdered Jasper Hunt on LIVE television in Euskirribakondara

Daniel is known for his very out-there comments regarding the World Hit Festival and the WorldVision Song Contest, which includes ranting about his vendetta against the nation of Kalosia, and even speaking about comments which the WorldVision Committee sanctioned the BVC for, leading to his sacking of the television station. Daniel Richards was back with the same harsh comments during the World Hit Festival, as he described some of the performances as "shite" and "unforgettable," though had a keen liking towards Estogium, which is part of his cultural background.

Jasper Hunt: He is now dead, and his family has been notified.

As the voting segment was being announced, he blamed Kalosia for making the voting system a "madness." He seemed to get more angry as the votes were being announced, but quickly changed in to a joyous attitude as Kwadai announced that both Nightom and Estogium would be receiving points from them. Soon after that, during Darkmania's votes, according to the late Jasper who told him to "sit down," he was up and he went to get a knife. Whether this was premeditated or a spur-of-the-moment thing is not yet judged. After that, as Mercedini announced that they will be giving no points to the Brityunikosphere, he brutally stabbed at defenseless Jasper Hunt.

A viewer described the horrific events. As the contest broadcasts during the night, they thought that the two commentators were joking. However, as the votes from Normandy and Picardy were being announced, they heard radio silence before Daniel asked the murdered Jasper to get up. Suddenly, viewers at home heard, what could be assumed as, policemen who shouted "Words in many different languages." It has been understood that Jasper Hunt is to be flown back to Britonisea while Daniel Richards awaits on the Euskirribakondaran officials on whether he will be extradited to Britonisea or face trial in Euskirribakondara.

BITC has spoken out since the attack. They have stated that they will not be broadcasting any live events for the next two weeks, unless it is sports, and will have an hours down time at the time Jasper was heard to have been killed. They will be issuing a more public statement later on in the week.

Fans of both Jasper and Daniel remain distraught as to them, this is surreal.

Operation 'Calypso'

Two days ago, we informed about an escape of the key members of the Svyataya Sotniya (SS) terrorist group from the Telgrad prosecutor's office. In fact, it was not an escape.

The men who 'freed' the three Svyataya Sotniya members were in fact the KGB members and the whole action was in fact a secret operation, now revealed by the officials. It's goal was to provocate the possible supporters of the group in Arioslavia and abroad.

The three 'freed' men were convinced that their liberators were true Svyataya Sotniya members and didn't realised that they are used as a bait. The KGB officers, still acting as the SS members, transported them to the 'hideout' and persuaded them to send a message to other members of the group. In a message, they informed their supporters that the Svyataya Sotniya has infiltrated the Arioslavian Army and that one of the Army Marshalls prepares a monarchist-fascist coup d'etat in our country. Additionally, they called all members to come to Telgrad, to support the coup. More than 500 people responded to the call within two days.

Meanwhile, the GRU and KGB operatives in Western Europe contacted with the far-right Arioslavian immigrants with possible links with LAF and other neo-fascist organisations. Claiming to be the messengers sent by 'the Marshall', they persuaded many of them, including a self-proclaimed 'Tsar' Konstantin Romanovich from Nightom, to come to Arioslavia to assist the coup.

On a night when the 'coup' had to take place, namely on this night, a Tu-154 plane landed in Knightinghamshire, Nightom. The coup supporters - about 150 men who went aboard - were told that the plane is sent by the Marshall to take them for a meeting with him, in order to discuss the future government, but in fact it was a military plane. It took them to the Army air base in Crimea, where the meeting had to take place. As soon as the leaders of the movement entered a room where the Marshall had to await them with other Svyataya Sotniya members, it turned out that the Marshall in fact doesn't exist. Instead, they faced the KGB officers, who arrested them and their partners. Meanwhile, a group of 500 men gathered at the Lenin Square in Telgrad, waiting for the Army units who had to enter Kremlin, starting a coup. The units arrived, but to the surprise of the SS supporters, the soldiers arrested them. Some shots were fired, as few of the SS members were armed, but no casualties among the soldiers are reported. 4 SS members were killed.

Overall, on this night, over 750 were arrested. Among the arrested, there is Antonio 'el Catolico' Paredes, member of the Iberian 'Falanga' organisation, one of the main contacts between the European radicals and the LAF regime. The arrested men will face the accusations of terrorism and illegal activity to forcefully take power in Arioslavia.

Once again, it is an important day for our small nation. Another year has passed. Changes have been happening. All of you have got older. And with you, our lovely nation has got older. Today is a holiday. Today, 20 years ago, right on this square, our lovely nation was born. At a day like this, I am asking you all to be grateful for what you got. Enjoy the free day from work or school, take time to sit down with your family and friends, but also, think about how grateful you are for everything you got. Because while you are sleeping at your home, there are thousands of people overseas who do not have such luxury as their own home.

Political situation in the region is unstable. For a regular citizen, these issues seem to happen far from us. Every day, you, dear citizens, hear on the news about a bomb attack in Jerusalem or violation of human rights in LAF, and you think this has nothing to do with you. Well, that is kind of true, it really doesn't have much to do with you specifically, but what I am trying to tell you, is that you need to be grateful about how stable the situation actually is here, in Togonistan.

How has a young and tiny nation like ours managed to survive in this world so far? The answer is simple. In fact, the answer lies in our nation's motto: United we stand! We have stood united through all the hardships of a young nation, and look where we are now. We are doing really well. Our economy is rising, our education system is on par with other nations and we have some of the most liberal rights in the region. Let's be honest, where else can you sit down in the city center at 11:00 am and start smoking marijuana or buy alcohol legally at the age of 16?

But let's get back to the serious topics. Even though we do well right now, we must not let our guard down. We must keep getting stronger, and not just economically but also at the military aspect. Terror threat is a serious thing these days, and we must be ready for any kind of forces that are trying to threaten our sovereignty. This is why we have things like mandatory conscription. I know, a huge part of you don't support this, but for a nation with such a small population, we really don't have another choice.

Yes, we are small. This is why we must always stand united against any threat, doesn't matter if it comes from inside or outside our borders. Because, as one very wise man once said, ''If we do not get big in terms of population, we need to become great in spirit!'' And no spirit is greater than the spirit of a true Togonistanian! We are diverse nation, we have a lot of people from a lot of different races, a lot of people with different beliefs, but at the times when it is needed, our unity comes through our diversity. I must say, it is really quite darn impressive to be your president. You, dear people of Togonistan, are simply the best! Now come on, give yourselves a big applause!

BREAKING NEWS: ADOLPHUS BRITO CALLS 'ELECTION OF CONFIDENCE' FOR JULY 17

For the first time since the 12th November 2012, the Prime Minister has called an Election of Confidence, which is set to be held Monday 17th July 2017.

Today in a national address, Adolphus Brito stated that he will be launching an Election of Confidence, which is set to begin on the 17th July 2017, and due to end on the Friday. The decision for an Election of Confidence is one that came with great surprise as this election usually gets called in the middle of the term of a Prime Ministers reign. Had Adolphus follow norms, the Election of Confidence would have happened between July and November 2016, but instead, it has been pushed back a year. In the National address, Adolphus said that it would be "a great opportunity to see what Britonisea is thinking at the moment as we have seemed to have hidden under the veil of pacifism and self-isolationism." When his father was in power, Lukas Brito initiated two Elections of Confidence, in 2005 and 2009, with the latter being held on National Brito Day; a bank holiday, and therefore saw the poll turnout highly.

As you can see, it seems as though Labour Party will be keeping their lead, and their majority. In 2014, Adolphus managed to win with 240 seats, 14 seats clear of a majority, and while both polls suggest support for Adolphus Brito has increased, Poll.Me says he will win with a larger percentage than what poll.gov.ns.bs' thoughts.
For those who don't know, an Election of Confidence is a simulation for the General Election, which is usually hosted every 3 to 5 years. During the Election of Confidence, broadcasters, online services etc use this as a practise to put their skills to the test when the actual elections comes around. However, it is more important than you might think. It isn't just a bit of fun, but it is also a tactical vote to see where the nation stands when it comes to the current political environment. 12th November 2012, 27th July 2009 and 10th October 2005 are the three most recent Elections of Confidence and all three of them did do favours when it came to the next term. During the 2009 Election of Confidence, the election saw Kingsley Mansfield gain significant support, and therefore Lukas Brito resigned from standing in the next election. Kingsley Mansfield won with a majority of three seats. During the 2012 Election of Confidence, Labour regained the seats they had lost to Kingsley in the General Election as the Election of Confidence saw a surge in support of Adolphus Brito, who gained a clear majority. Adolphus won the election proving the Election of Confidence to be correct.

A sample of people will be send emails through the post, and this is usually around two to four million people. Those two million people are spread out evenly across the 451 constituencies. The votes that come from the two million people will be ballooned up to make the two million people's votes in to around 60 million, the amount of people who are legible to vote in the General Elections in 2018. It is not compulsory to turn up, but it is highly recommended, and usually, the turnout reaches around 80%. The people voting is also aimed to match the percentage of age groups that vote in the General Election, aiming at the 16-19s, 20-35s, 36 - 50s, 51 - 67s and OAP.

To put it simply, an Election of Confidence is self-explanatory. The PM launches a "bi-election," to see whether the confidence in the PM is still there. It has proven successful and this reassurance might help Adolphus pinpoint the seats that are Patriots Hold, but on the verge of turning red.

The General Election is scheduled for May 28th 2018, with Labour expecting to win with a larger majority than in 2014 - making it Labour's 13th win in 100 years. However, as we saw in 2014, things could dramatically change, especially as the Patriots are slowly catching up.

Terror Strikes Capital as Assembly Convenes

At 12:00 noon of 19 June, a bus laden with explosives parked out front of the Federal Assembly building in Qewmsh - a space normally occupied by a main bus from Route 1. However, minutes later, at 12:04, the bus detonated: destroying dozens of vehicles on the road at the time, and even severely damaging the front of the Capitol.

Following the customary blackout of reporting terror incidents, the Asaş have been allowed to investigate the scene without intervention or private meddling, and downtown Qewmsh has been shut down and quarantined for the following week. They have found no clear links to groups known to the confederation, but that investigation will surely continue. However, they have been able to begin quantifying the damages to our nation. Confirmed and reported injuries have already surpassed the one hundred mark, unfortunately with local hospitals becoming overwhelmed with traumatic injuries. Among the injured are twelve members of the Assembly (MAs), who were standing in the lobby of the building at the time of the attack.

Currently, the number of deaths has also reached forty-three, with the Asaş regretfully reporting that 'a few dozen more' deaths are being estimated, along with countless injured. Three MAs are also reported to have been killed in the attack, as they were believed to be standing right outside of the bus shelter at the time.
The Military Directory has convened in order to develop a coherent strategy for dealing with known terror groups in the region, and Chief Director Şawir has stated that there would be consequences if a foreign nation was confirmed to have been involved in this grievous attack.

Meanwhile, Canton-Premier Welian has been briefed on details not yet released by the Asaş, after giving a highly emotional address to a crowd at Revolution Square in Erdlina.

"We must become united together in our grief," he said, "and show these thugs that the bond of our nation is one that neither bullets nor bombs may break."

RADIO FREE PANAU - BREAKING NEWS: ARMED FORCES TAKEOVER THE REPUBLIC OF PANAU

Panauns all across the country were shocked today when they woke up to the sounds of gunshots and thousands of boots marching in unison down the streets of Panau's major cities. In what has been declared as an official coup d'état, the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Republic of Panau have worked in unison to effectively seize control over the state within a few hours, ending the regime of President Panay and the Panaun Communist Party - a regime that has been marked by inflation, economic decline, human rights abuses, terrorism and violations of the Constitution of the Republic of Panau. In accordance to Article 2 of the Constitution, the Armed Forces intervened to remove Panay from power to defend the founding values and laws of the nation. The military coup d'état marks the potential start of a new regional crisis, just as one begins to die down as Panau tries to recover from the bloodiest few days in all of its history since independence.

The background to the sudden military coup d'état stems from the many failures of the Panaun Communist Party under President Panay to maintain public support due to them not being able to carry out their promised agenda. Under the President Panay, between 2013 and the present day, the economy was worsened by sudden nationalization of all industry and the complete expulsion of foreign companies, and workers as well as the significant reduction of foreign trade. Fierce regulation of the economy led to the capitulation of business/industrial competition and resulted in a major drop in terms of total economic output. Many Panauns grew even more discontent with the Panaun Communist Party when they attempted to abolish money and private property completely, resulting in severe political and social backlash against them. As the economy continued to drop and the cost of everyday living continued to skyrocket, the Panaun Communist Party took full control over wage regulation and increased them by 1000% as well as initiating the forced redistribution of private property, material, and monetary wealth, resulting in major opposition from the middle and upper class of society due to companies not making enough profit to meet new regulations - which in turn resulted in major condemnation of the Panaun Communist Party by the working class as they slammed them for worsening the situation in Panau.

With the Panaun Communist Party now facing major opposition, fear of being ousted early before completing his term clearly took control of President Panay's mind as he initiated a major crackdown on political opposition parties and their supporters, mobilizing the Panaun Police Force to raid and ransack the headquarters and buildings of opposition parties as well as constant raids on their homes and the permanent equivalence of their family members. The crackdown resulted in civilian opposition to Panay's rule intensifying all across the country, with major demonstrations shutting down many cities as people demanded that Panay stepped down for early elections. Some demonstrations turned violent as Panay deployed riot police to intimidate and contain protesters, resulting in them fighting back. Panay is also alleged to have hired several criminal gangs and underground organizations to attack protesters violently with weapons, single out ringleaders and carry out attacks against them which included bomb attacks against their homes and workplaces, which caused public outrage to escalate to new levels.

President Panay personally took control of the Ministry of Internal Prosperity (KKD) and a spree of political assassinations rocked the country: Panay denied any involvement in the assassinations, claiming that the "workers of the republic were rising up against the reactionary bourgeois scum", but several criminal investigations - which were then subsequently blocked due to their findings - gained sufficient evidence to put the blame on the KKD. As the general public rallied against the Panaun Communist Party in large numbers, and with his and the party's approval plummeting to an all time low of 15%, Panay turned to extreme measures once again, recently killing 200+ civilians and wounding 500+ more in what has been described as "the worst peacetime incident in the modern history of Panau", who were protesting against his rule. He went on further to disband the National Assembly, replacing it with the Supreme People's Congress which is completely dominated by the Panaun Communist Party, and capturing members of the Supreme Court that voted in favour of blocking his future legislation which would have transferred full control of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Panau to the Communist Party.

It had been reported that for a total of two days, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Panau began to partake in military actions outside of the chain of command, giving the first indications that the military was also effected by the unrest. The Panaun Communist Party dismissed all reports of such actions as "fascist propaganda" and stated that the Panaun Armed Forces was still "fiercely loyal to the state" and the "counter-reactionary government of President Panay." Several publications were made on the official website of the Panaun Army, claiming to have captured pro-Panay KKD agents attempting to infiltrate the ranks of the army in order to gain information on their activities, before they were taken down. At 5:15 A.M, footage began to surface on the internet of fully armed Panaun Air Force warplanes taking off from their bases across the country and Panaun Army bases being fully mobilized, with troops loading into transport vehicles, fully armed, preparing to leave their bases and spread out across the country. A video declaration was made by a group of masked senior officers, claiming that the military was about to embark on a mission to uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Panau.

At 6:01 A.M, explosion rocked Panau City as the air force bombed the Palace of National Liberation, where President Panay was holding an emergency meeting of his closest generals and senior leaders of the Panaun Communist Party. The fierce bombardment continued for 15 minutes as warplanes made multiple passes, swooping in low over the city and dropping their bombs as well as firing their guns before pulling up and repeating the process before tanks surrounded the palace and began shelling it as 200 ground troops that had also surrounded the palace began to storm inside. Despite the heavy bombardment, sniper and automatic fire erupted from the roof and top floors of the palace as its guards and pro-Panay troops held up inside defiantly attempted to put up a fight and ward off the Panaun Army as a fierce gun battle occurred within the palace due to the resistance, however at 6:32 A.M the body of President Panay was thrown out of the window of the top floor of the palace, confirming his death.

The Panaun Army rapidly deployed 78,000 ground troops to Panau City to establish full control over the area and quell any pro-Panay efforts. The army effectively laid siege to the city for 3 hours by blocking off all entrance and exit roads to and from the city before deploying troops via helicopters to cut off access to major bridges and highways within the city before finally moving in. The Ministry of Internal Prosperity declared full loyalty to military leadership and the Minister of the KKD was immediately captured and killed after being discovered trying to organize pro-Panay militia activity. The Panaun Air Force bombed police stations all across the city as well as the residences of high profile members of the Panaun Communist Party and its headquarters, completing the decapitation of its leadership and plunging the party into chaos. The National Assembly in exile then voted unanimously to ban the Panaun Communist Party and its allies, as well as hand full control of the Republic of Panau to military leadership organized against the Supreme People's Congress, effectively placing the country under a military junta.

Whilst it is still unclear who makes up the military leadership organized against the SPC, and who leads the military junta, the website of the Ministry of Defence published an official statement which declared that the Constitution of the Republic of Panau and the National Assembly would be suspended indefinitely, upheld the ban on the Panaun Communist Party and its allies, imposed strict moderation of all forms of media declared nationwide martial law. The Panaun Air Force bombed all radio stations across Panau in order to prevent the organization of pro-Panay forces, and stormed the Panaun Public Broadcasting building, in Panau City effectively placing all news media under its control. The military junta has also recently taken over Radio Free Panau and intends to use it as its official national media outlet. In Panau City alone, the Panaun Army has rounded up 108,000 people and crammed them into the old stadium, accusing them of being members of the Panaun Communist Party, members of pro-Panay terrorist organizations, or attempting to conduct a counter-coup against the military junta.

The KKD currently is assisting the military in a major operation across the country against pro-Panay militias and so far, the Ministry of Defence website confirmed that 482 pro-Panay militiamen had been executed thanks to combined operations between the KKD and Panaun Army. Some eye witness reports state that at least 30 of these militiamen were thrown out of helicopters from a high altitude, leaving them to plunge straight to their deaths. The Ministry of Defence website stated that the operation was vital to preserving the integrity of the state and the safety of its civilians, and also stated that the KKD and the military will not cease such operations until every last terrorist is dead. The Panaun Air Force has carried out over 540 airstrikes since the beginning of the military takeover, with the Ministry of Defence claiming that at least 505 of these were against radical communist militiamen attempting to organize massacre's and armed resistance.

Millions of people have took to the streets waving the new flag of Panau and chanting nationalist and patriotic slogans to welcome the arrival of military forces as they took control of several cities. Soldiers were stopped by civilians with the new flag painted on their face to take selfies, and many threw bouquets of red roses to troops passing by in armoured vehicles and transports to congratulate them on their actions - a move which clearly shocked the troops taking part in the takeover as they had been most likely briefed to prepare for the worst reception. Civilians have even been bringing food and water out of their homes and allowing troops to use their facilities as a sign of good will and support for the military takeover. Street parties have erupted all across Panau as civilians celebrate the toppling of the Panay regime and the Panaun Army has initiated a massive purge of Panay's propaganda machine, starting with tearing down thousands of Panay statues situated all across Panau. 7 million people have gathered outside of the Presidential Palace in Panau City to await the emergence of the military leaders that will now be spearheading the country into a much more brighter and prosperous future.

RIDAHWIT TERRORIST PLOT FOILED BY POLICE

At 03:24 this morning, police raided an apartment in Ridahwit after receiving intelligence regarding a planned terrorist strike targeting foreign diplomats attending the MECP negotiations. The Government confirmed the city would receive an increased police presence for the duration of the summit over fears of a potential terrorist attack.

Four men were found sleeping in the apartment, and were immediately detained by police. Inside the apartment, several AK-47s were confirmed to be found, alongside crates of ammunition and improvised explosive devices. The apartment building was swiftly evacuated over fears that the explosives may be active. Several explosions were reported to be heard in the area, with the police later confirming the explosions were controlled following the arrival of a bomb squad.

In recent hours, police have revealed radical Islamist literature was found in the apartment, along with the manifesto of the Lahibari Islamic Party; a member of the Front for Change opposition coalition in the Revolutionary National Congress. This is the second time in a decade links between extremism and the LIP have been discovered. Prime Minister Hamad Salameh has commented that the findings are 'disturbing' and that the Government will continue to investigate further links to ensure national security is upheld.

President al-Hasen has praised the police for preventing this plot and defending the safety of citizens and foreign diplomats alike. He stated that terrorists will never undermine the Lahibari values of 'secularism, progress and peace'. The President reaffirmed that all foreign ambassadors are safe in Lahibar, and the police are 'more than capable to deal with all threats, as demonstrated by this raid'.

The suspected men are currently undergoing questioning by police and will remain in custody for at least 14 days before being charged - in line with the Terrorism Act. The police have released an official statement, saying it is 'extremely unlikely' there are other planned terrorist attacks to strike diplomats, advising citizens to continue as normal but to remain 'vigilant' and report anything suspicious to the the police.

Second Day of Protests in Aleppo Grows Violent

In the early morning of 26 July, residents of the Şar Moqsûd (SHM) neighborhood were awoken by unfamiliar sounds for many of them: the buzzing sound of electricity and the booming of crude generators. As it turns out, the still war-torn section of the city was selected as the first location for the direct action group Federaşya Xarên Qidişiye (FXQ) to begin its own reconstruction efforts following the brutal war with jihadists that came to an end in the final months of 2016. The group claims that Aleppo has not only been "forgotten" by the rest of the world that had bombed it, but that the Kihdite government itself has been ignoring the needs of many formerly-occupied cantons following their liberation. The group functions by working with a combination of Kihdite activists and professionals to rebuild and restore many damaged areas of the country.

As more and more people began coming outside to look at the webs of wires being put up above the streets, connecting building to building, and watching as the lights were gradually turned on in the neighborhood center, they also began to talk. At first, the people's attitude was jubilant. After all, they have not had reliable electricity for nearly eight months. Citizens of the area began celebrating in the streets as time passed in the day, neighbors could be seen hugging and dancing with neighbors. The people believed that the government was finally beginning to remember them.

Then, the truth began to emerge about the source. At an emergency assembly in the newly-lit SHM assemblyhouse, representatives of the FXQ group were present, and initially their plan was to win more recruits to the cause - probably to continue similar efforts in other neighborhoods of the city. However, their revelation was met warmly, but very solemnly by the people present at the meeting. What began as a celebration of the group's efforts quickly turned into a vengeful chant, demanding the Aleppo Canton's leaders be held accountable for the lack of power in the city.

News of the generators in SHM, as well as the neighborhood's reaction spread quickly among the other neighborhoods in Aleppo, who also had similar reactions. The heavily localized protests soon spread together into the city center, near the Canton's own assemblyhouse. Thousands of working class protesters flooded the area in the hours following noon, joining the ongoing protests of militiamen who were upset by the recent shuffle of the military following the Turkish Crisis. The combined protests reached numbers in the tens of thousands as the people were forced to spread throughout the center of the city, with some climbing onto unrepaired buildings, cars, and scaffolds in the area.

Eventually the local Assembly called in police who were not protesting that day to contain the protests, and prevent any other parts of Aleppo from receiving the news. However, this plan was enacted much too late, as most of the Western Cantons had already heard the news by this point, resulting in similar, but smaller, demonstrations in their cities as well. The long beleaguered citizens and militiamen did not respond well to this development, with the chants changing from basic "Power to Halab!" and "Power to the People!" to more violent and desperate cries. While the crowd began to brace for their inevitable confrontation with the Asaş, one chant rang out loudly through central Aleppo. "The Asaş are killing us!" the crowd roared as police in riot armor approached them.

As night began to fall on the city, the protests grew ever stronger in place. The people had nowhere to go, since many of them were living in husks of buildings anyway, so they simply stayed in the city center in protest. But after the night fully came upon the city, the protests finally grew violent. Clashes began erupting with Asaş personnel at the edges of the crowd. The clashed began as isolated incidents, with small groups harassing the police as they came close, but as panic spread through the crowd, the situation developed into a devastating riot - with even militiamen participating in violence against Asaş enforcement in the streets. The haze of tear gas could be seen from many yards away as the government tried desperately to contain the rioters to no avail. Soon, remaining shops were damaged by bands of protesters flying black and red flags; these bands had not been seen since the fight for the city's liberation in November. The crowd also lurched toward the assemblyhouse itself, and successfully broke in before attempting to set fire to much of the ground floor.

As of 21:30 local time, the riots are still continuing in central Aleppo. No official numbers have been released to the press, but the KNBN estimates that dozens of people on both sides of the clashes have been injured.

The day when the Britonish suddenly become 100% about Britonisea comes at a cost. It is expected that a whopping £13bn (10⁹) BPS will be spent on the national holiday, and that includes the money that you will spend on the days which lead up to the day, and the money spent setting everything up.

With the money spent on the national holiday, Britonisea could afford to host to host 2 Olympic Games, buy 39 400m Skycraperspay for 1107 editions of the WorldVision Song Contest, but annually, the government (including it's services) does spend less than £1bn BPS to set up the National Day, whereas the other £12bn comes from your pockets! As the Britonish Holiday is more popular than the Christian celebrations, Easter and Christmas combined, the Britonish saves money they would spend on Christmas and go out to buy presents for loved ones for the day. This money does also include the money spent on the deals too. July 26, and more so July 28, are the big days were everything is slashed and the public in all their glory goes out to buy as much as possible.

However, the most important questions on the minds of the Britonish is most probably; what is the breakdown of all this money? Where does it all come from? Where does it go? Well, just under £1 billion of the money is spent by the government, and each year they budget this. This probably leads to less than eye-opening celebrations for Halloween, Easter and Valentines Day. In fact, Britonisea's government has multiple billion saved for events like this, to try and reduce the amount of money wasted by the government to decrease. Some of the money is put in to the BVC, a partly government funded broadcaster. For the broadcasting of the events, BVC does not use the money it receives from the viewers at home, but the money it receives solely from the government for it's purpose.

BVC has managed to receive enough money to broadcast many hours of celebration, including the three main televised celebrations (three for each timezones, when the time turns 00:00) to make sure the public receive the best TV. Moreover, the BVC and any other broadcaster, receives money for broadcast of the day, including many festivals and processions, and also, the National concert in the Olympic Stadium in Sports City, Luton where there will be appearances from Adam Watkins, Lukas Brito and the Prime Minister, Adolphus Brito among many more World Leaders and Aurevbushan/Britonish ministers.

There is still a lot of money that the government is to give out, and some of this money is put in to the local communities and authorities to allocate money to set up the streets, draping them in the colours of the Britonish flag , or giving money to the police in each of these communities to make sure that there are no violence on the streets. Money will be funded in to pay for those who want to work. Working on a national day is quite uncommon, unless you have a job which is very necessary (like doctors, police and/or fire emergency). As a "thanks" for this, workers are paid a large percentage more for the hours they work. Lots of people sign up for this for their pay cheque, but sometimes each department refuses to take on too many people.

Any money that is not used is either put as waste money (eventhough they say that the celebration is a waste anyway), where the money is spent on anything or is removed.

I believe that the Manticoran Empire has the right to engage in military action to ensure the safety of its citizens after an brutal and oppressive far-right military regime has taken over a nuclear-armed state that it shares a border with. Not only does it share a border with Havlanca, it also has a large chunk of its major cities there which poses a significant threat to its population in terms of their security. A far-right military regime should not be able to possess nuclear weapons in the first place , and the threat to the wider stability and harmony of humanity is very real. Their crackdown on the LGBT community is unacceptable and there needs to be a strong response from the international community to promote the values of tolerance. How dare they , in 2017 , oppose the agenda of liberal global progressiveness for the sake of peace across the globe. It is evident that the Havlancans are nothing more than bigot minded nazi's that oppose the values of freedom , independence , liberty , justice , and tolerance.

Personally, I do believe that the entire situation in East Asia is not of our concern , however , I find it very worrying that the left are continuing to ruthlessly politicize every little event , especially the Marxist regime in the Caucarus , as some sort of global crusade against the evil right-wing. I believe this crisis is driven by ideology more than anything. This is a crisis that needs to be handled by the Manticoran Empire and Havlanca , without the interjection of the globalist left to paint a pretty picture of left-wing utopia's versus right-wing dystopias , or the interjection of any state that is not involved. I do believe however , that Havlanca should maintain the right to maintain its arsenal of nuclear weapons as they are clearly to be used in a defensive scenario. The fact that neither the Caucarus or their Lahibari puppet has failed to condemn the previous , genocidal , brutal Marxist regime , yet they were quick to condemn the military government which only targeted radical Marxists involved in the atrocities of the Panay regime , is concerning. The crackdown on LGBT communities is not an issue that the international community should be involved in , or policitizing , thus , I have no general input on it , however , I do wish that Havlanca stays within the lines of international law and does not implicate any cruel or harsh treatment of LGBT's.

The National Salvation Junta , which has the popular support of the Havlancan , has every right as a sovereign state , to further develop or possess weapons of mass destruction. It has no right to meddle in their internal affairs , nor does the rest of the international community. Havlanca is an enemy of Social Democracy. Whilst we do not condemn their overthrow of a violent Communist dictator - and quite frankly , we support such motion - It must be said that their crackdown on political opposition and testing of nuclear weapons within earths atmosphere with complete disregard for the political fallout as well as environmental damage , cannot be tolerated. Havlanca should maintain a reduced nuclear stockpile , and when I say reduced , I am talking about the capacity of a single warhead , none should be allowed to exceed 10 or 15 megatons. - until they show that they can be responsible with their toys. The brutal , systematic oppression of the LGBT community cannot be tolerated and hopefully the international community will intervene before it turns into a full on genocide against them.

Protests Intensify as Groups Support Hamo as New Leader

Fires lit during riots in Diyarbakir

Following the past 48 hours of violence in Aleppo, it seems that much of the country has responded to the calls of protesters from that city. In the past day,
violent protests have spread rapidly across many Western and Northern cities and cantons. The most notable protests today began in Diyarbakir, Qewmş, Entip, Şinyar, and Van, all of which quickly became violent. The tone of the protests has also radicalised quickly as well. What began as calls for greater government transparency and responsibility have intensified into varying calls for the Canton-Premier to resign, for the entire Executive Board to resign, and even some calling for an insurrection. We will take a brief look at the most important developments of the protests in, as well as their effects during the past few days.

Aleppo: The radical new government, as it claims itself to be, has ordered a general strike within the city - which was met with surprising amounts of obedience. Most economic activity in the Halab Canton has been brought to a halt, as the KNBN estimates that more than half of the working population there has refused to go into work, and have instead stayed home or joined the massive protest inside the city center. Media outlets have repeatedly been denied entry into the city after 26 July's takeover, so reports on local politics are based on eyewitness accounts and helicopter shots exclusively. The local militia has, as suspected yesterday, pledged its loyalty to the new government. The status of the Assemblymen inside of the city is unknown, but they are believed to have been placed in custody by militia, as Asaş personnel have retreated from a majority of the city.

Van: The usually-tranquil autonomous area of Van was struck with extremely violent riots following the initial Aleppo protests. The small Vannite Republican Party (VRP) pledged their support for and union with the strikers and protesters in Aleppo, and then called upon their own city residents to join a protest against both the local monarchy, and against the current Federal Administration. Drawing on support from the already-protesting local militia, the VRP demonstrations spread to the city center, on the doorstep the Consular Palace, where things began to get violent. The Asaş guards at the palace were violently assaulted and ejected from the area, and a crowd of people stormed the building, ransacking the rooms and attempting to capture their Consul, Sarc II. Sarc was ushered to safety before the riot began, however his son, and heir to the Consulate, Işak was beaten by the crowd before being defenestrated. His status is also unknown at the time. The VRP inside of Van have declared, with the new government of Aleppo, that they are the true representatives of the people, and have issued a manifesto calling for wide constitutional reform, and the resignation of the Executive Board.

Qewmş; Kihdis' small capital, Qewmş, came under attack today by mostly militia protesters. Following yesterday's announcement from Commander Hamo that he would be joining the militia in their protest for better treatment and rights, a sizable crowd of app. four thousand gathered in the still-damaged Revolution Square in Qewmş to demand the installment of Hamo as a leader himself. The Commander has not released any word on whether or not this was his idea, but, as in the other cities, the demonstration out front of the building became violent. Fires were lit in 1st Street, just out front of the Federal Assembly building, and rocks and molotov cocktails were thrown at the building and at passersby. The clash developed into a street riot against the defending Asaş guards, resulting in the first confirmed death of the 2017 unrest. Ehmed Rucîwen, 28, was killed by a warning shot from a police officer. The crowd of militiamen dispersed rapidly after being fired upon, but a few stray groups remained inside of alleyways and residential buildings and fired back at the police. The ensuing struggle in Qewmş would become the first armed attack on government forces in the country.

As you can see, Mercedini tops the list with 30 nations. Their very strong song could receive this amount of points, as we think that the nation has been spurred on by Cosneolta's success. Cosneolta meanwhile will slip to 13th place with 11 points. The hosts, Izmedu, is tipped to come second place, right behind Mercedini with 28 points. Also up there is Normandy and Picardy, with 26 which is a bit in front of Polkopia. Polkopia's success in the WorldVision Song Contest could help them in the World Hit, but surprisingly, the nation is yet to win a World Hit Festival. The group thought that while the Polkopian song was good, it was not enough to win the contest.

Perhaps surprisingly by some, Todlichebujoku tops off the top 5 with 22 points. The song has been receiving mixed reaction from the Britonish public since it's release, but it may look like it will receive international support. Debutant Bojikstan is in 6th place with 19 points before we get our first tie. Our first tie is between Kalosia, the winner of World Hit Festival 25, and Britonisea, who won World Hit Festival 26. Britonisea is expected to receive only 6 different sets of votes, in comparison to Kalosia's 7, but will come 8th place - which is a result Britonisea would be okay with, but isn't ideal. Especially with Etela Tomac, who placed 2nd, this isn't the result BVC are hoping for! Winning the K-Pop battle is Manaime, with 16 points before Togonistan finishes of the top 10 with 12 points. Last edition, Togonistan came 10th with 11 points, so a point better may encourage them to keep on trying.

Todaskakys is expected to get ten points, but we think they might get more. Norjihan's debut might not go in their favour, only receiving 9 points - even if the song is quite catchy - Goluta will slip to 16th place after coming last in World Hit Festival 33. Hesskin Empire's debut might not go too well for them, coming in 17th place with 8 points - being voted for by four nations. Balkvla Islands comes in 19th after Darkmania in 18th. Darkmania is going for a different kind of song, which may cost them, especially after their superb last few editions. Ending the list in Fromulya, who is expected to only receive five points from 3 nations.

Balkvla Islands is the nation with the least amount of votes, (2) while Normandy and Picardy tops the list at 8 votes.

Remember, this is only a prediction and it doesn't mean this is how the final votes will go! If you're reading from a country like Balkvla Islands, Darkmania or Fromulya, don't worry, you might come ~~first~~ top ten!

The Britonish and Estogian votes used is actually the real votes sent to Izmedu, however, the whole board does not reflect how we gave out our points - thanks.

Air Mobile Infantry earns its spurs in Spain amid chaos of Spanish Civil War

M8 AGS fires its 120mm main gun during training exercise in central Spain

Rota, Spain- The soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division arrived in Spain last week with something to prove. That airborne tracks are still relevant in modern warfare. In a world where wheeled MRAPs are fast becoming the go-to mode of transportation for light infantry forces around the world, the Imperial Army remains one of the few institutions that still operates a tracked light infantry force. Deployed alongside troops from Arioslavia, Al-Khaleej, and Allemande, Airborne troops from the Empire found themselves surrounded by light infantry troops in wheeled vehicles. A common sight are Arioslavian BTRs, Aurevbushan Cougars, and Britonish LAV-IIIs. All are wheeled combat vehicles that, at one point or another, were considered for service in the Imperial Army and the Cougar is currently serving in Military Police units. The presence of these vehicles, termed "Hot Wheels" by indignant track drivers of the Empire's Airborne, has led some to question the validity of tracks in modern combat.

Those questions were answered today when a group of Spanish Republican revolutionaries attacked Company C, 3rd Infantry Battalion 63rd IBCT (ABN) outside of Jerez. The attack, which Manticoran Intelligence estimates included almost 500 Republican fighters, targeted the LAV-IIIs and Cougars used by Monarchist forces that were traveling with C Company. The attack was opened by fire from Rocket Propelled Grenades and Light Anti-Tank weapons. About a dozen Cougars and LAVs were traveling with C Company and nine were destroyed very quickly. C Company quickly returned fire with 30mm cannon and TOW missile fire from their M113A3 Armored Personnel Carriers and small arms fire from firing points in the vehicles troop compartments. The rapid reaction allowed the surviving Monarchist vehicles to beat a hasty retreat back to Rota while C Company rapidly dismounted its infantry and assaulted the enemy positions. Despite being under heavy fire, C Company succeeded in fending off the attack and forced the militants to retreat, with C Company giving chase over rough terrain for almost fifty miles. Seventy six insurgents were killed and forty five were captured after their civilian trucks became bogged down. Three Paratroopers were killed in the fighting and two more were wounded by grenade shrapnel.

Monarchist LAV-III burns after being struck by RPG fire

The ambush along the A-2078 near Jerez is the third attack launched against Manticoran Troops since arriving in Spain. It was, however, the first attack in which Manticoran forces were able to mount a counter-attack. The success of the counter-attack and the survivability of the tracks has proven that yes, Tracks are entirely sufficient for modern combat operations. And, if today's battle is any indication, they are superior in many ways to wheels.

The Case for Tracks: If it's old and works, it doesn't need fixing

Edgewick Armor Training Grounds, Edgewick- Tracked vehicles have been in service with armies since the First World War and have proven themselves quite capable of meeting every challenge thrown at them. From deserts to jungles. From arctic wastes to urban sprawl. Rolling hills and barren plains. Tracks have seen them all and succeeded in all. With this kind of a record, it may come as a surprise that many nations have begun phasing out tracks in favor of wheeled combat vehicles. A perfect example is the Aurevbushan Army, which has almost entirely phased tracks out of Infantry Brigades, replacing them with Stryker trucks. Strykers are new and sleek looking but the question asked by many in the Empire's Mechanized community is, "Does new and sleek equal better?"

The answer is no. No it doesn't.

The Interim Armored Vehicle Stryker, which is the Aurevbushan Army's current Infantry Fighting Vehicle for Infantry Brigades, entered production in 2002 as an evolution of the Britonish LAV-III. Since then about 5,000 or so have been produced by Aurevbush for the Aurevbushan Army and many more have been produced for foreign buyers. A baseline Stryker costs $5.11 million without any armor or weapons upgrades and is equipped with a basic 12.7mm machine gun as its armament. It's armor is rated against 14.5mm rifle rounds. Against Rocket Propelled Grenades, however, it offers no protection. This is especially distressing when you consider that there are more than 9 MILLLION RPG-7 rocket propelled grenade launchers floating around, with ammo being just as readily available. The only real protection available is light slat armor, which is also referred to as cage armor or bar armor. However, slat armor is frighteningly ineffective, stopping at most 50% of missiles fired at it. The most effective protection is Explosive Reactive Armor, which is largely unavailable for wheeled vehicles due to the weight. As a result, only the most vital areas of a wheeled vehicle, namely the crew and troop compartments, can be protected. This leaves the wheels dangerously exposed and, unlike a track which can be bolted back together by the crew with spare parts carried on board, a wheel that has been blown off will often require repairs to the axle and drive train, requiring much more extensive maintenance than the crew can accomplish.

Wheeled vehicles also have a problem going off-road. When the Manticoran Army tested the Stryker/LAV-III design in 2006, it was discovered that the wheels would get stuck in the mud and had significantly reduced speed going cross-country. For maximum effectiveness, wheeled vehicles are relegated to roads and trails and even ditches, which are often little more than a speed bump for tracks, can stop a wheeled vehicle dead, leaving it vulnerable in combat. The Stryker and LAV-III are also incapable of being air-dropped, severely limiting their mobility and VASTLY increasing deployment times. And that is without taking into account the size disparity. A Stryker is much larger than a M113 and is similar in size to an M8. However, the M8 and M113 can fit in C-130 aircraft while the Stryker cannot. A study by the Imperial Army's Armor Institute at Fort Carlilse in 2007 found that, under optimal real world conditions, a brigade equipped with Strykers took six days LONGER to arrive than a brigade equipped with the current M113A3 Gavins and M8 Bufords and, in a worst case scenario, took almost two weeks longer to arrive than the tracks. In a world where wars are won based on who can reach objectives first, a 6 to 14 day delay is not something that can be afforded.

This is an extremely barebones case but it hits on the big points. Tracks have greater potential survivability, since their chassis can bear the weight of reactive armor more easily than a wheeled vehicle can. They are also far faster to recover from mobility kills in combat, with spare track sections being carried on board most tracks. M113 and M8 tracks are also air-droppable, unlike the Stryker and LAV-III, which enables them to be deployed faster and in virtually any environment.

Do wheels have a purpose? Yes. There are several jobs in the military where a track is unsuitable, particularly logistics and military police roles. However, when fighting a war in a poor and under-industrialized region of the world, like Central Asia or much of Africa, tracks have proven their superiority.

President Sheritan Ousted

The Federal Committee convened today to discuss how they believed the newly elected President has been handling his job. Sheritan served as Vice President for one term before being elected President just under one month ago. Since his time in office, he's made no public speeches or statements about his plans and he's gone on what the people think is a vacation more than a diplomatic excursion to the nation of Chrinthanium.

Before the President left, newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Devon Campbell made a motion towards a vote of no confidence in regards to the President. Foreign Minister Campbell and Vice President Andersson departed with the President to Chrinthanium shortly after. The Federal Committee met - in the absence of the Foreign Minister and the Vice President today.

A few ministers in the Federal Committee spoke openly about their decision. "I was appointed by President Griffin three years ago, and his death was tragic for our nation but President Spencer rallied us together and kept us strong willed. I have seen no good characteristics from President Sheritan during his Vice Presidency or recently. Therefore I voted for his expulsion from office," stated Kevin Mallosden, Minister of Energy.

"Since his time in office, I have spoken to him three times about raising the budget for education, but he refuses to acknowledge that education is worth the government paying for. Therefore, I cannot support him as President," stated Minister Jake Andersson.

Minister Cannon stated, "He is not a firm supporter of the environment, as President Spencer was, and I have been notified a few times that my department will be receiving budget cuts when Kannap prides itself in environmental protections and conservation. We have a beautiful nation that needs to be kept that way. I voted against Sheritan today."

Vice President Andersson's vote was considered an abstaining vote because of his absence from the meeting while Minister Campbell's vote was considered to be against the President because he was the one who made the motion for the vote to occur in the first place. In the end, 10 ministers voted to relinquish the President from his office, one voted for him to remain in office, and one abstained. You heard it here first folks, Holden Sheritan is no longer the leader of the nation. It will be interesting to see how he takes the news considering he is in another nation right now.

As for who the new President will be, the Federal Committee voted for Marigold Cannon. We are awaiting word on whether she is accepting the position or not.

Marigold Cannon Named President

The Federal Committee has announced who they nominated for the office of President and are happy to announce that she has accepted the nomination to the position. Marigold Cannon is the new President of Kannap, being sworn into office just a few hours after President Sheritan's being released from duty. Kannapian citizens seem to be mostly happy about the new President but some are questioning if the Federal Committee has the legal right to expel the President from office.

To find that out, we spoke to Leonard Collowfree, chair of the political law department at the University of Kannapolis. We asked Collowfree if the Federal Committee overstepped their legal bounds. He answered, "The Federal Committee is an interesting body, because only one member is elected by the Kannapian people - the Vice President - and the rest of the members are appointed to the position by the President. Most members of the Federal Committee have been members through numerous Presidents because Presidents normally have only appointed to vacant positions and typically don't fire ministers. However, with that we are still learning more and more about the type of government that we have chosen to have in this nation. Three years ago, we decided that we want to elect our national leader - our President - as well as his deputy - our Vice President. Before that, we had Premiers. They were appointed by the Premier before them to take the office and the people had no say whatsoever. We're still laying out the groundwork for our government. Every citizen old enough to vote and even many of those too young to vote remember the time when we had Premiers. It's recent history - within our lifetimes - and our current government is very new to us still."

Collowfree continued, "We have maintained - since President Griffin's term, before he was assassinated - that ministerial positions are appointed by the President and are life-long positions or until the minister resigns. So far this has not been challenged by a President and we don't expect it to be. However, it bids the question, if the President cannot fire ministers in the Federal Committee, can they fire him? I would suggest that the answer is yes. We elect the President for terms lasting up to a single year in length before he or she is up for re-election. There is an unlimited number of terms currently, we haven't set a limit, but it is not a lifelong position at all. The President is also not a member of the Federal Committee like the Vice President is. I would suggest that neither the Federal Committee nor the President would be permitted to fire the Vice President. The President, however, is fair game. The President can be fired."

We asked a follow-up question for Collowfree: would it not be a destruction of Kannapian citizens' rights to fire the President that they elected? He answered, "No, I don't think that would quite be the way to put it. Yes, the Kannapian people elect the President and they voiced overwhelmingly that they wanted Holden Sheritan to be the President. However, the Federal Committee has voiced that they are not confident in his leadership ability and they have acted upon that concern. While they hold positions of government, the members of the Federal Committee are still citizens of this nation. They are appointed by the President to serve the people of this nation with the various roles that they are appointed to. If they believe that the President is lacking in his ability to lead the nation, they have the full right to expel him from office if that is what they believe the best for the Kannapian people and the nation is. So far, it appears that most Kannapians have supported their decision wholeheartedly. People are either happy or indifferent to the firing of Sheritan and appointment of Cannon. Only a small fraction of the population are angry but they are a very small minority of the population. We have decided that majority rules in our democracy and that is what we are seeing now."

We thank Dr. Collowfree for speaking to us. We also have the statement from the office of the President regarding the change in leadership: "While the office of the President is as surprised by the events of the day as the Kannapian people are, we fully support the decisions of the Federal Committee. Holden Sheritan has been notified of the change in leadership and Marigold Cannon is being welcomed into her office. We are proud to serve our President and wish her a great term."

We also received a statement from President Cannon herself: "My dear fellow Kannapians, I am honored to be able to serve as your President. I want to assure you that this transition is a peaceful one and that the Kannapian people will thrive under my leadership. My first orders of business in the coming weeks and months are going to be ensuring that the budgets for environmental and educational agencies are increased so that we can ensure the protection and conservation of our beautiful nation and that our children are being educated with the full opportunities they deserve and that they are going to serve as bright beacons of the Kannapian future.
I will also be taking a look at how we can improve our transportation infrastructure in the coming weeks and set plans in motion to start years-long work projects on those, not only improving our infrastructure and transportation networks but also creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. President Cannon Nominates Ministers

The first sweeping changes of the federal committee have been announced. President Marigold Cannon has made sure to fill some vacant positions very quickly. Replacing her own former position, Minister of the Environment, she has nominated Preston Meadows. Preston formerly served under Cannon with the Environmental Protection Ministry. Preston was the deputy Minister for Sustainability. He has worked for the Environmental Protection Ministry for seven years and has served as deputy Minister for four years.

Minister of Justice Simon Rieta has resigned from his position and the position has been filled by Julia Carver. Julia went to the University of Kannapolis to study law and started working as an assistant in the law firm of Dowdler and Maris in Kannapolis upon graduation. She worked within that law firm for two years before becoming a lawyer for a different law firm, Uteri and Tyuti in Royale, Kannap. After six years working for them, she started her career with the Ministry of Justice. She's been working for the Ministry of Justice for 29 years. She started as a regional representative and served in that position for 12 years before becoming a judge in Kannapolis. She's served that position since before being appointed to the position of Minister of Justice.

Zvenia Alipope has been appointed to the position of Minister of Labor. Her previous experience was serving as President of the Fair Labor Employment Association, a non profit that works to ensure Kannapian citizens are granted equal labor protections and freedoms. Jake Andersson has been appointed Minister of Education. His previous experience was as Minister of Education in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he became the interim Minister of Education and has held the position since - suspecting that another person would be hired to relieve him. However, he has accepted the position for a longer length of time.

Lyla Zoover has been appointed to the position of High General of the Military, which has been vacated since Fernando Podem resigned after the dismissal of the previous President.

Vice President Logan Andersson Dead; Holden Sheritan Missing

News from Kannapian sources in Chrinthanium have reported that the Vice President has died under mysterious circumstances. Shortly after the announcement that Holden Sheritan was no longer President of the nation and that he would be taken under custody by the Kannapian royal guard, the Vice President was found dead and the former President was missing. It is unknown what has happened. We cannot confirm if Holden Sheritan assassinated the Vice President and fled or if the President was killed by an unknown person and they kidnapped Holden Sheritan. We have no news about where the former President has disappeared to. We have heard that the Kannapian Royal Guardsmen who arrived to retrieve Sheritan have launched a search for him and that Chrinthanian authorities are assisting in search efforts.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Devon Campbell, made a statement shortly following the discovery, "What has happened was a horrible occurrence and we are working hard to get a search underway to find Holden Sheritan. Details are very vague right now and we are working on finding out more details."

President Marigold Cannon has made an announcement as well, "I have heard the horrible news that our honorable Vice President has passed on. We are grieving as a government and we will do everything in our power to find who has done this and to find and take Holden Sheritan into custody. Meanwhile, I know that I was supposed to go to Chrinthanium to attend the conference going on between national leaders and I have opted to not depart from Kannap. I must also announce my appointment for Vice President since we need the government to continue operate at normal capacity. The new Vice President will be Anthony Jones-Meadows. Thank you, my fellow citizens"

We also received a statement from former Premier Jeremy Andersson, husband of Logan Andersson. "I am in heartbroken mourning, this is the second time that I have lost a husband to assassination. I am severely wounded and I am angered at the person who would steal my love from me. I demand to know who did this to my husband, who did this to me."

During the fourth Presidential Election, there were two candidates who wanted to be the next president of the Ultimaverse. The Manticoran Empire and Kihdis both fought valiantly to become the next president. 46.2% of voters decided to vote for their next president and we can now reveal the next President of the region.

The Manticoran Empire - 50%
Kihdis - 50%

There was a tie between The Manticoran Empire and Kihdis to be the president of the Ultimaverse. Therefore the next port of call is how the Ultima Chamber voted. The Ultima Chamber is compromised of four members, The Manticoran Empire, Britonisea, Aurevbush and Arioslavia.

Of those who voted in the Ultima Chamber, the chamber voted in favour of Kihdis more so than The Manticoran Empire.

The unwritten rule that the Ultima Chamber has the final world, if the presidential election results in a tie, will be added to the Ultimate Laws at the end of these elections with immediate effect.

Therefore Kihdis will the next president of the Ultimaverse. Commiserations to The Manticoran Empire.

Before Kihdis is the next president, they will need to chose who will act as their Prime Minister. Kihdis can decide that The Manticoran Empire will act as the Prime Minister or he can choose two candidates, before Tuesday 5th September 2017, at 18:00 BST to go up for a Prime Ministerial election.

The two will then decide all of their ministers together before parliament is established by the 10th September 2017 at the latest.

Sheritan Spotted in Kannap; Troops Deployed

We have reports that Holden Sheritan was spotted in Kannpolis Royal Airport. Local authorities tried to apprehend him, but he fled and escaped. President Cannon has issued an order for troops to be deployed in the ten largest Kannapian cities in order to search and apprehend Sheritan. She was quoted, "Sheritan is the connection we need to make with the death of Vice President Andersson. We don't know who killed Andersson or why but Sheritan may have witnessed the events and may have the answers. We need to find and question him so that we may learn who killed our Vice President and why."

"Therefore, I have issued a declaration of emergency in which 10,000 Kannapian troops can be deployed into the ten largest cities in the nation - 1,000 troops in each city. That will take effect at noon tomorrow and will remain in effect until Sheritan is found and apprehended. We cannot be too safe in this moment. He is a potentially dangerous man. If you know anything of the whereabouts of Sheritan, you need to call the Ministry of Internal Affairs and report your information. Thank you."

Town Hall in Brooksdale Bombed

We have reports coming in that the Brooksdale Town Hall has been bombed. Brooksdale is located just six miles north of Kannapolis and is a major town in the northernmost part of the nation. The town hall is residence of the mayor, the police headquarters, and the various offices of all the city government's departments. The building was fully occupied at the time of the bombing. It is believed that there were bombs positioned on the first and second floors of the building, though that information is unavailable until further investigation by the bomb squad.

Currently, it is believed that the bombs were set off on the first and second floors and immediately allowed for an inferno to overtake those floors. The first floor is home to waterworks offices and reception areas while the second floor houses the police headquarters and the public health department and the parks and recreation department. It is believed that, as the fire raged on, the fire ascended to the third floor of the building and further to the attic. Finally, we believe that the north half of the building collapsed due to the flames. The whereabouts of the mayor are unknown. The police chief was out his office for lunch at the time of the bombing and has started the investigation into the attack.

It is believed that there were 150 people in the building at the time of the bombing and only ten have been confirmed still alive - five escaping the building before too much damage occurred and five others rescued by firefighters during the fire. One has sustained critical injuries. Firefighters and police officers continue to search the rubble in hopes to find more survivors. We will keep you up to date as new developments come in.
