Your HDI is rather high for a nation of 68 million. A HDI of the high .800's is more acceptable. So, if you bring your HDI down, there should be no other problem. Also, please outline a specific plot.
Prompt: A suppressed ethnic minority holds violent riots nationwide demanding for equality. Using either diplomacy or your military (or both), you must stop the riots and restore peace.

The basic outline for the Republic of Tonal is a military dictatorship not unlike Zaire under Mobutu, but with less executive corruption. The president, who I have yet to name as I'm reconfiguring Tonal from a Nigeria/Libya clone into a sub-Saharan style nation, genuinely wants to progress Tonal, but is impeded by corruption at the lower levels and the generally poor standing of the country. Its an overwhelming task attempting to slowly build Tonal into a modern nation, with infrastructure, education, and industry, given the rural nature of the country and the relative isolation of large pockets of the population in dense rainforest.
Internally, there'll be a number of tribal insurrections and civil discontent. Some tribes want to secede and form their own nations, some military commanders are overly ambitious, and other political groups want to see the country move into other directions, be it towards a democratic republic, or towards a Maoist communist state. The population is relatively huge, mostly in poverty, and has little hope of a better life. I basically plan to RP Tonal as a country with enormous problems and turmoil, not an economic and military powerhouse that's typical among most NS countries.

Outskirts of Gham City, 0500 hours
A small boy is walking through the streets, clothed only by a soccer jersey and a pair of worn out sandals. He seems to be searching for something in the dusty alleyways between rundown shacks. In the distance, the barking of dogs can be heard and the one or two bullets being fired. Rien d'extraordinaire the boy thinks to himself, nothing out of the ordinary. As he bends over to pick up another handful of sand to sift through, an engine is heard, racing through the streets. Before he can jump to the side, the boys bones are shattered by the front end of an Armored Personnel Carrier. The APC, containing a group of punishingly strong looking men, hardly stops to see what has happened, before racing forward. A mother peers through the window of her hovel, and begins weeping. As she runs out into the street, the blood begins to cake itself on the torso of the boy's dark body. She holds his hand as the life seeps from him, and cries out into the night.

Gham City High School, 0800 hours
Men clad in black fatigues have surrounded the high school polling station and begin to march forward. Inside, a three-man observer committee from a now distant NGO cower in fear, realizing that this year isn't the year for democracy in Gham. As boxes are stuffed with pre-printed ballots, the three-man-committee are bound and gagged before being loaded into a toyota and hauled off to an unknown location.

Location on map*: The nation concept is one of a large, highly multi-racial empire (inspired by the large land empires that persisted into the early 20th Century such as Austria-Hungry, the Ottomans, or the Qing) which has managed to begin on the path towards modernization. As a result, all the ethnic groups are mostly made up based (loosely) on some mixture of real life models. As a result, I think I could best be accommodated by taking a large swath of the area where the Chinese, Indo-Aryan, and Ambiguous ethnicities meet. Furthermore, I am comfortable being landlocked to preserve coastline for those who need it for their nation concepts.
*Be specific in your description of this, or outline a plot on the map using a photo-editor, save it and upload it, and link the picture. Please be reasonable with plot sizes, and remember that your application may be contested due to the area you choose not being realistic in contrast to the ethnic demographics and background of the area.
The only problem I really see with your population is your population. If you could reduce it by about 100 million then I'd see no problem with your application.

I can understand your concern with having a highly populated nation in the region. It seems as though people on the internet are generally fond of equating large populations to large amount of power, and this is forgivable as the world could appear that way at a glance. However, I understand that a higher population, especially for a developing country like the one I have presented above, is often a greater inhibitor than it is a benefit. I don't plan on using a large population to bend my neighbors to my will, rather, the idea is that the country is somewhat powerful but is forced to focus primarily internally due to the many different ethnic, tribal, and linguistic groups within the Hegemony. These problems are only made worse by a very visible rich-poor divide, the economic strength of the minority residing in cities compared to the destitute state of the rural areas where much of the population resides.
However, I still see your point and so I'd like to propose a compromise. Could we agree to lowering the population by fifty million rather than a hundred? I think this would go a long way towards bringing me closer to regional average population without too significantly curtailing my nation concept. I'll lay out the effects of those changes to save you from having to perform the calculations yourself. If I maintained my current GDP per capita of $15,000 that would result in a new GDP of $2.175 trillion and a population of 145,000,000. Furthermore, this would reduce the military size to about 1,000,000 (for the sake of an even number), which would be split between 450,000 active and another 550,000 reserves. Would something like this be more acceptable?
Also, would you be so willing to provide for me a writing prompt?

This seems fair. I'll give you a prompt:
As political instability in eastern Vasarden reaches an all-time high, with proxy wars raging on multiple fronts, Enara begins to struggle with the lack of foreign support in the event of civil conflicts, or an invasion, occurring. Enara's government, angered by Erinaumese 'aggression' from the north, is planning (or executing) an invasion of Erinaum's southern regions.

Looks fine to me. Would putting you in the Anglo region of the map work?
