A new island is discovered CLOSED

[Sol-Kar]

"LAND HO!" Cried a man from the deck of the ship, and Admiral Duilius looked up from his book. He looked out the window of the bridge, and there it lay. A small group of islands was there. It was two islands, about the size of Malta, with lush forests and a small mountain on one of them.

"What in the.." the admiral said "Tiberious!, is that on the map?"

"no sir...It would appear that we've stumbled upon something new..."

"radio the Imperator and inform him of this. How many troops do we have with us?"

"two legions of praetorians sir" (OOC: they were sent out looking for new land)

"excelent, set up a beachhead"


OOC: Grandtaria is going to be playing the natives in this one and the natives are actually Romano-british left behind from when grandtaria fled england in 450

[Grandtaria]

As the romano-british on the island first spotted the roman flag, the first thoughts were that the romans had came to drag them into the empire. They grab weapons and rushed to get into formation in the forest. They would not give up easy.

[Sol-Kar]

The 10,000 soldiers were setting up camp, others watching the treeline.

"Status Report!" Said the admiral

"all soldiers are unloaded and the supplies nearly so, m'lord"

"and the scouts?"

"they have not returned yet sir"

[Grandtaria]

Then the order was given and the trumpet sounded. 20,000 British legionars pourd from the trees, right at the roman camp, and above the warcrys a slip of music was heard:

"Whats the use of whereing braces,
spats and hats and boots with lases?
Vests and pants you buy in places,
down on bromten road!"

[Sol-Kar]

The savages poured out of the forest like a flood. There were thousands of them. It all happened so soon...

The admiral whipped out his pistol and started firing, downing a man with every shot.

"TO ARMS! TO ARMS! RALLY ON ME!" he cried, and the soldiers began shooting into the crowd and moving up, forming a very makeshift line.

Soon enough it would be down to using bayonets when the savages closed the gap. Light there were thousands of them!

[Grandtaria]

As the natives closed the gap, they payed dearly in lives. They finaly engaged the roman troops Screaming "IMPERIAL SCUM! They threw there javilans and the fighting contiued but the The song also contiued

Whats the use of shirts of cotten,
Studs that always get forgoten,
These affairs are simply roten,
Better far is woad!

The admiral drew his gladius and began fighting, all around him his men began fighting with bayonets, they seemed to be winning, but the horde was endless!

"KILL THEM ALL!" he shouted "NO MERCY TO BARBARIANS!!!"

one of the savages swung at him with a sword, but he dodged and shot it in the back, all at the same time blocking anouther sword with his gladius, he then promptly kicked the savage in a place a man did not wish to be kicked, and shot the man in the head when he bent down. he then slashed the gladius against anouther foe. The savages were beginning to falter, it seemed.

[Grandtaria]

"SOUND THE REATREAT, BACK TO THE FORT. RETREAT!" as the natives fell back into the woods they were screaming for the fort to ready its catupults for a final attack. They orders were heard loud and clear. The song stopped and the battle was lost.

[Sol-Kar]

The aftermath was...pleasant. So many of the savages dead, only a few of his own.

"tend to the wounded and prepare incase anouther attack comes" the admiral said "get me a radio, I have to report this"

on the radio he explained the situation and the Imperator sent over a predator drone to investigate the island from the air, it would be there soon, armed with 2 hellfire missiles.

"all units! prepare for counter attack!" the admiral said. he located a dying savage from the ground and grabbed it by the neck

"tell me where your little "fort" is and i will kill you quickly!"

"go...to...hell! filthy imperial!" he sputtered, blood pouring from his mouth

The admiral got mad at that, and chopped off the savages hand. the savage cried out in pain

"I will ask you one more time! where is the fort!"

"just north of here... you better hurry, they have catapults and will slaughter you all afore u get close!" and at that, he died



"SOLDIERS! PREPARE TO MOVE OUT!" and he began issuing orders. The 9250 men that remained would break off into 2 groups of about 4,000 men and they would all move to the fort, in loose formation, and sneaking, as to not alarm the savages. would be hard, the praetorians armor was shiney, with a red plume on the helmet...

Meanwhile at the fort:

"READY CATUPLULT!!!!" Screamed a officer "TAKE AIM AND LIGHT ROCKS WITH TAR!!! FIRE ALL!!!!" The flaming stones started raining down on the roman beachhead and balistias with lighted shot did bloody work. There were masons despreatly sureing up the wall and five old roman ships with 400 men each were readied. They had brought them here and soon they were lauchend to attack the landing craft fleeing the island with the romans wouneded in the attack. They would use them as levrage.

*ON THE IMPERIAL SHIP*

when Cpt. Tiberius saw the enemy ships...wait...what!?!?! ships!

"all units! prepare the main gun! radio the others to do the same!" he said, speaking calmly,he referred to the task force that was not far away. Soon enough the gun was firing. It was very fast, and soon one of the ships was destroyed, but the rest were closing fast, masts fully out. anouther was destroyed, but the other three then go close, and the soldiers began firing onto the savages decks. Then the savages dropped boards and began boarding the ship.





*IN THE WILDERNESS*


The admiral came up on the fort and all the men got into cover as best they could. then he got a call on his helmet radio that the second team was in position, on the flank, ready to start firing. then he gave the order, and they began shooting at the wall

On the ships:

"MAN THE GRAPLES AND BOARD!!! NO MERCY AND NO PITY. WE WON OUR FREEDOM AND SHANT GIVE IT BACK, ON!!!!" The orders were clear and soon the natives had boarded the roman ship. It was all out hand to hand fighting and no side could gain ground.

At the fort:

"DUCK DOWN AND TAKE COVER!!!" The commander knew they could not win, so he diceded to surrender before he lost on the ships, afterall the romans had no idea how many he had boarding the enemy. Thus he had barganing power. He ordered the flag of truce to be run up and fighting stoped on all feilds "send a runner with this message. It read

"We the people of the island of Grandtaria will hereby surrender the islands, if you let the women and childern leave in peace."

A boy of ten ran out with the small note in his hand. His face was covered in ash and he was missing an arm.

[Sol-Kar]

HOLD FIRE!" shouted the admiral

he stepped forward and took the note from the boy. He glared into his eyes...the young savage.... he offered the boy a canteen with water, he accepted, taking a long drink, and looked as if he was going to say something. then just smiled weakley and ran off. The admiral watched the boy run for a moment, then pulled out his pistol and shot him. He fell, dead.

he opened up the letter and read

no! what?!?! grandtaria!! he needed to talk with the leader of these people, but why would they let him now that he shot the boy!

"ATTENTION NATIVES OF THE ISLAND OF GRANDTARIA! YOU HAVE NO HOPE! OPEN YOUR GATES AND SURRENDER,AND YOUR PEOPLE WILL BE SPARED!"

[Grandtaria]

Seeing they had a chance they captian of the fort and his ten best garuds walked out, picking up the flag from the dead boy. One gaurd fell beside him and wept, apparently the boy was his son. Wailing in latin as a catholic preist gave the boy last rights and waited for his breath to stop, it was a tragic scene. The captin asked what the terms where.

When the savage got within 25 paces, the admiral ordered his men up, all pointing guns at the enemy, and they stopped.

"Now then, you will repeat to me what your little island here is called! Now!"

[Grandtaria]

"The Scatuary of Grandtaria! Our last true home since plauge over took us!" Said the captian. Then he called for the flag to be raised and the romans becamed very perplexed. It was the same flag as there former allys, Grandtaria. They must hver been seperated when they first came here. Then a soft toon arose from the fort and grew louder and louder until it was defening and to the romans, they knew it well:

"GRANDTARIA BRAVE AND TRUE,
THE HOLY LIGHT SHINES THROUGH AND THROUGH,
THE DARKNESS PARTS AND DIVINE RIGHT IS SHOWN!
WE SHALL STAND, IF EVEN ALONE!

SO MARCH AND WE FIGHT
FOR OUR PEOPLE AND THE LIGHT
WE SHANT YELID TO THE NIGHT
WE PROUD WILL STAND!!!"

[Sol-Kar]

The admiral considered this for awhile...

"YOU WILL ORDER YOUR PEOPLE TO BE SILENT!" he screamed over the singing. they continued.

"Order the men on the ship to kill the boarders (OOC: sry if i nvr said this, but they do know, and the people on the ship are holding fire as well as the savages) "

"yes sir" the soldier replied


"VERY WELL! I ACCEPT YOUR SURRENDER! OPEN YOUR GATES AND WE CAN BEGIN TALKS!" he said as the savages sang, unknowing on how their people on the ship were being slaughtered at this very instant. Soon the ships would be and sunk.

[Grandtaria]

The gates opened and the captian walked back through the last verse rang and the song ended. Heading back into the fort command center the nagotions began.

"Alright the denfeders and all grown men on the island surrender if you allow the women and childern to become full citzens in the empire and you must give them housing and enough food to get by without us, if you agree we will tell you of all the traps and such hiden of the island and how to avoid them. Also we will tell you were the gold and silver mines are and we will work as slaves in them for you. Agreed?"

[Sol-Kar]

The Admiral hit a button on the side of the helmet and said "activate code jrz-72y"

"How about this" he said, releasing his hand "you surrender, the women and children become slaves, some of the men are spared, and you tell us the location of the recources or we start crucifying people" he said it as if discussing a cup of tea.

[Grandtaria]

Wait, you can kill me and the defenders or put us in you areas, but the women and childern go free. We will tell you the locations too.

[Sol-Kar]

He laughed

"you must realize that you are in no position for bargianing! Your army is captured, your little fleet has been destroyed, you are finished!"

[Grandtaria]

"I understand that, however I am simply follow the alcemical law." He said as if he was a scholar. "I consider the lives of these men and me and locations of resouces and traps equal to the freedom and safty of the women and children. For somthing to be gained somthing of equal value must be lost." Perhaps he was less of a savage than he was made out to be.

[Sol-Kar]

*sigh* "very well, savage! you have your deal. Now I see you have a map of this place behind you, give me the map and mark all the locations of prescious materials, the landscape, write notes on the life that is here, and I give you my word as a gentleman, that no harm will come from the ladies and their children"

[Grandtaria]

I have no choice but to trust you. *turns with quill in hand*

"Ok there are traps here, here and.... Here! Gold deposits here and here and a silver mine.... Here. Ok the children and women go free and become citzens, ok sir?"

[Sol-Kar]

But of course, follow me.

THEY WALKED OUTSIDE AND IMMEDIATELY THE SAVAGE WAS RESTRAINED

"WHAT!! YOU BLOODY TRAITOR! I HAD YOUR WORD! YOU ARE NO GENTLEMAN! YOU ARE THE SAVAGE!"

he laughed "I would love to stay and chat, but I have business to attend to." he motioned for a soldier to come to him

"Yes sir!"

"See that group over there?" he said pointing to a group of people, men woman and children alike.

"Yes, my lord?"

"they look a bit...dangerous, I dont think they can be trusted to not start porpoganda" this was going on while the man was shouting "Line them up, and kill every fourth one, just bullets mind you, dont have time for a propor execution, then strip the bodies of anything of worth to the empire, cloth, metal, anything!"

"Yes sir! It will be done!"
