Well, i needed a "plot driver", but uhh...

Perpetual energy pisses on one of the most fundamental laws of the universe, conservation of energy. Of all the physical phenomena in this entire world, conservation of energy is one of the most absolute, without-a-doubt certain and immutable laws of physics. There's no way around it; perpetual energy is wank of the purest form.

Yeah. I cannot emphasize this enough; perpetual energy is easily one of the handwaviest, least realistic, most boolshyte technologies conceivable.

If you're looking for a non-handwavy source of energy, just go for hydrogen. Being the most abundant substance in the entire universe (excluding dark matter for a moment), it's so plentiful that you'll run out of it basically never.

No, it's absolutely fine--excellent even--that you are willing to ask these questions. Most people are content to dwell in their own ignorance, but the fact that you instead are open to and actively seek input is admirable, not shameful.

Blue Energy
Anti-gravity generators
FTL drive (Warp drive/ wormhole generators)

Can't get any more unrealistic than that.

FTL and antigrav are pretty much acceptable applications of the Rule of Cool for FT so yeah, they're okay

FTL is an extenuating circumstance. Realistic or not, it's an acceptable break from reality that is necessary just for FT nations to exist.

Anti-Grav is meh (in terms of realism--even I find it extremely cool), but there are a few ways one can bend the rules to reasonably handwave it.

Perpetual energy is just unnecessary for anything less than the Devourer.

EDIT: Exactly what Singy said above. FTL and Antigrav are cool, but PerpEn is not.

Woah, wait a minute. I've been reading the factbook about Blue Energy... I didn't even mentioned Blue Energy was perpetual in the first place...

Most PMT nations will have a higher real GDP than their RL counterparts...

...but I still haven't added GDP to Nayba Collective because it's so difficult to compare to any existing economy.
