Hmn, yeah, that might work to a degree. Maybe have an AI or an alien AI creating Nayba Collective after... nuking of Siberia or something? There's not as much call for the way they are without the catastrophes that created them. I'll have to think about it.

Depends by what you mean by "piss poor". It's very true that current uses for hydrogen combustion are limited, but that mostly has to do with storage methods. Current methods for storing hydrogen require bulky cooling and compression assemblies just to accomplish mediocre volumetric energy densities. Basically, for every unit of volume, you get much less energy with hydrogen than hydrocarbon fuels.
We get around this problem by using a theoretical formulation of hydride chemicals that allow us to store hydrogen cheaply and in high densities.
Here's a good link
Otherwise, it's a perfectly viable, environmentally sound combustion fuel. We Vistorans use it in pretty much every application where electric power won't suffice.
DoD records are pretty near the top of my list for source reliability

Oh, don't worry too much about that. We sorted out that problem using our own brand ofcopious handwaveryanti-neutron shielding.

I like to write character RPs as if it was self-narrated, or the narrator is a nosy fuker who assumes he/she knows what the character is thinking.
I really have no idea what I'm doing
