The economic standings of Orikuro has dropped sharply from 47 points down to 28 points following the government's backing of the idea that businesses could not donate to political campaigns. The current government remains baffled over the situation, and released the following statement:

"It doesn't add up. Business are unable to pump money to corrupt politicians and their campaigns for a seat in government, but that makes the economy go down? If this should have any effect on the economy at all, it should make things get better, because instead of businesses putting money in the politician, they must, or rather should, put the money back into their businesses, and expand.. Something is going terribly wrong here, and with any hope, we can recover from this problem.

King Fyodorov Announces Two Day Leave on 300th Anniversary

At 10:30 Am King Fyodorov VII announced a two day leave for all Neo Phoenician armed forces members on December 9th and 10th in celebration of the nation's 300th anniversary. "Aside from any security units or those deemed critical," he said, "our soldiers will be able to spend this historic day at home with their families." The government is reportedly in the works of planning a "spectacular" celebration of Neo Phoenician culture and heritage set for the 9th and 10th of the next month. The nation currently has had the lowest percentage of its troops deployed overseas since the 19th century after it ceded its Ezmexican holdings back to Intonisia and the announced leave will be the largest in the nation's history. The King was careful to reassure the public that the nation would be no less safe, as "substantial" security will still be in place over the two days. The turnout in the many major cities holding festivities is expected to be tremendous.

[Ryrgistan]

At 0400 this morning an offshore oil rig in the Ryrgistani Sea (Caspian Sea) caught fire. As of yet the reason for the fire is unconfirmed and the pumps all appear have to been shut down at some point before the fire as no oil was spilled into the water. The fire seems to have originated from an explosion in the eastern corner of the platform. This explosion also damaged the support causing part of the rig to collapse into the water. As of now the fire seems to be put out and coast guard vessels are attempting to ensure the platform can be accessed to investigate the origin of the explosion. As a result of the fire, shares in the state owned Neft Corp have dropped dramatically. The government has stepped up coast guard patrols around the oil rigs and aerial patrols over the major offshore fields and the Karakum Desert fields in Ryrgistan and Kyzyl Kum Desert fields in Fshanakirot. In Fergana-Ryr the government is yet to issue a statement and information is being communicated by Neft Corp to the general public.

At 8:30am this morning, on November 11, 2015, the trial of Jonathan Marks started in the city of Harrison, Alite. Jonathan Marks, 45 and from Downs, Virginia, is to believed to be responsible for 32 murders over a period of 6 years, through five provinces. Due to the amount of murders he committed, he will be facing the jury in federal court. The National Investigative Bureau is charging Marks with 12 counts of first degree murder, 12 counts of second degree murder, and 3 accounts of attempted murder. The Deigan Republic Attorney General has stated that they are going for the death penalty. The defense is attempting to get a not guilty by reason of insanity and have Marks place in a mental institution, where he would remain for the rest of his life. The trial is expected to continue for several months.

A wreck occurred on the President Jason Mason Memorial Bridge this afternoon. The bridge, which carries the 10 lanes of Interstate 81 across the Knots River towards Dante, has nearly 125000 cars passing over it everyday. This wreck, involving four tractor trailers, shut down three lanes of the northbound bridge during morning rush hour. Luckily, all though injuries were reported, no one is serious condition. The reasons to why this wreck occurred is still being investigated.

In less than a week, we've created 6,800 jobs, and reached almost 18 million Neo-Libralians. We'd like to take this time to thank every one of our viewers, readers, and listeners.

But, our work does not stop there. We've established a Regional News Update, which will update the nations of United Valhaven with the latest news, live from Neo-Libralis It's our pleasure to broadcast this, our first Regional Update, with our news anchor Elissa Varnham.

Neo-Libralis gets Ready for Winter

This week, amidst the nation-wide military preparations for winter, tides of snow and sleet covered the nation. As of last night, the Neo-Libralian Military has dawned their newly-designed winter uniforms, which will be the standard for the remainder of winter. Early predictions of a late winter have proven to be true, as the first snow in the nation's capital of Venustas occurred yesterday, almost a month later than average. It is estimated that winter will last across Neo-Libralis until late April.

Crater Mysteriously Appears near Cold Lake

A mysterious crater was discovered by a local of Cold Lake City, whilst he was out cross-country skiing. Officials have restricted access to the area, stating that it could potentially be dangerous for curious individuals. Scientists are speculating nation-wide what the cause of such an phenomenon might be, but some believe it to be an ancient crater, long covered by ice and sediment, which then collapsed thus causing the unusually shaped crater. Other scientists disagree, saying that a crater of this particular shape and size has no precedent, and isn't formed from natural causes. We were fortunate enough to get a comment from the Viceroy of Liberalis Minoris, who was found in a nearby cabin.

The government officials in the area have yet to make an official statement, but it has been announced that the situation is under control.

Navy getting Smarter?

Earlier this morning, the Minister of Defense, Admiral Ellia Stallos, announced that the Navy has a new toy. Before today, the standard sidearm for Sailors and Seamen, (and Seawomen), was the Glock 22, but this is the case no more. In a 28 million Probo transaction, the Neo-Libralian Navy purchased 30,000 Armatix iP1Ns, the Neo-Libralian Variant of the iP1. The iP1N is being called the most advanced semi-automatic pistol to be put into use. The "Smart" Pistol will not fire unless it is within 10 inches of the accompanying watch, which is more of a safety device rather than a timepiece. The iP1N will only fire if the mechanical safety is disengaged, the gun is within 10 inches of the watch, the holder's fingerprints are identified by the fingerprint reader on the grip, the gun is being held properly, and, of course, if the trigger is pulled after meeting these conditions. The watch, in addition to telling the time, displays the ammo count of the gun, if the safety is on or not, the pulse of the wearer, and the body temperature of the wearer. Minister and Admiral Ellia Strallos says the purpose of this gun acquisition is to save lives, and prevent accidents from happening.

Finally a statement by the government has been release regarded the oil well explosion. A government spokesperson told the press, "Initial investigation has concluded that the explosion was definitely due to external influences and not a malfunction on the rig. It is clear to the government the attack on the rig was an act of terrorism. As of yet no organisations have stepped forward claiming responsibility and none of the terrorist groups within Ryrgistan are known to have either naval capabilities or missile launching facilities with sufficient range. It is with regret that I inform you that Presidential-General Jon and his advisers suspect the attack has come from a foreign nation and he has made it clear should reparations and concessions not be made, then Ryrgistan is more than prepared to go to war over this blatant assault on Ryrgistani assets."

Inside the Presidential Palace Jon watched the press devour the statement over a television screen. He chuckled to himself. "Change to the RBC please" he requested.
"Well there you have it, the explosion seems to be a statement of war. As of yet no nation seems to have been singled out, but earlier this morning the Georgian ambassador was seen entering the Presidential Palace and a no fly zone over the Ryrgistani Sea seems to suggest rising tensions". Jon turned the television off, laughing to himself.
"Well, well, well. Looks like we won't have to make a statement again, they seem to have guessed already" he said as he turned to face a man cowering in a chair surrounded by three armed guards. The man did not appear to find it as funny as the Presidential-General. "What's wrong Mr. Ambassador? Are you worried you don't stand a chance?" Jon broke out in laughter once again.
He turned to his advisor, "Send them our demands, if they refuse, then let the Generals announce the declaration of war".

NLNBC Emergency Update

In a surprising announcement from the Ministry of Defense, two corps of reserves have been mobilized, effective immediately. The alert status, previously at Medium Level, has been moved to High Level, the second highest level of alert, for reasons not yet specified by the government of Neo-Libralis.

The 2 Corps, 8th and 9th Reserve Corps, have a manpower of roughly 140,000. The mobilization of these corps is said to be complete within the next 18 hours. This is the first time in the history of the Neo-Libralian Military that all reserves have been mobilized.

UPDATE 2

It has been announced that squadrons from the 2nd fleet and 3rd fleet have diverted their course, from a training operation east of Greenland, towards the Baltic Sea. Baltic Task force, previously stationed near Flanders-Holland, has changed it's course similarly. It is estimated that the new movements have been made by close to 45 vessels. Three marine decisions are known to be on board the Baltic Task Force, totaling at 24,000 marines in the area.

UPDATE 3

It is now known that both Paratrooper Divisions, totaling at 12,000 Paratroopers, are to be landing in Flanders-Holland, along with the 7th Air Transport Wing, and the 4th Air Fighter Wing. The situation is still unclear as to the purpose of these movements, but the Ministry of Defense has assured us that these movements are not a drill, and will be explained within the next 24 hours.

The Neo Phoenician Defense Ministry has announced that it will allow Neo Libralis military elements to pass through their waters in order to access the Baltic, provided an official explanation as to their activities "in a timely manner." The NPAF will conduct reconnaissance of the Libralis naval and land elements upon their arrival in Neo Phoenician waters and the Baltic. The ministry has stressed that these actions are purely protocol, and are in no way suggesting that the Libralis's troop deployments are viewed as hostile. The government in Sur has also given approval for Neo Libralis ships to dock in Neo Phoenician Baltic ports if needed.

Update:

The government of Neo Libralis has provided the Neo Phoenician government with an explanation for their actions in the Baltic, but according to Defense Ministry sources, the motives are "classified" for the time being. The ministry reaffirmed their commitment to international cooperation among their allies and stands by its earlier promise to open Phoenician ports (and now reportedly certain airfields) to the Libralis military.

The Continental Army's First Army and Sixth Army has been put on high alert, but no movements have currently begun. The Central Command has stated that the reasons behind the mobilizations will be announced at a later time. Units that are being mobilized are currently unknown?

With the reasons for the recent USD and Libralis troop movements recently revealed, the government has announced that it will open up its airbases and ports to USD military elements operating in the Baltic in addition to Libralis, who given access earlier this week. This comes in light of the recent allegations involving the Kreotopia-Konstantanius affair. The government has also reaffirmed its earlier statement that they are committed to finding a peaceful resolution to these events, and encouraging 'restraint and rationality.' In addition to this, and given Neo Phoenicia's close proximity to the region, several southern military installations will be on 'heightened' alert status, although the exact meaning of this is not quite clear at the time.

BREAKING NEWS: Kreotopia given ultimatum from Konstantinus threatening "total war"
The ultimatum brings the region closer to the threat of full blown war

At approximately 12:00 Pm Central time the newly formed government of Kreotopia, recently rocked by the assassination of it's leader and namesake Edward Kreo, was given a ultimatum from the government of the Peoples Republic of Konstantinus demanding the immediate session of many of it's regions and 63 million of its 143 million citizens. The demands in the ultimatum also stated that Kreotopia be forced to give up command of it military forces to Konstantinus. The government of Kreotopia has reportedly received three hours to accept or face what the ultimatum described as "total war". This all according to the Kreotopian Foreign Ministry and other government services. The Devontan State Department was immediately notified about the ultimatum.

Some of the first moves of the Kreotopian President Derek Lyell was to call the nation to a "state of emergency", which was followed by a shut down of the Kreotopian boarder and mobilization of military units such as the Kreotopian National Guard, a mostly reserve force. He also called the ultimatums threat of "total war" a "act of war".

The government of Konstantinus has taken back the ultimatum, they also apologized to Kreotopia and it's allies; to seemingly attempt to back track on its demands and repair it's image just hours after the threat, despite the apology; it's troops where not pulled back to their respective bases till many hours later. According to Defense Department officials.

Though neighbors the recently founded Federation of Kreotopia and the Peoples Republic of Konstantinus have maintained a usually very neutral view of each other, although both did share a mutual defense agreement till recently. Even when Kreotopia was a disunited enclave of seven city states for over a century. Despite both nations maintaining neutrality with one another, it was known the nations had great ideological differences with Kreotopia being a Parliamentary Democracy while Konstantinus is ruled by a authoritarian autocratic government. Konstantinus is a much larger nation then Kreotopia, boasting a population of around approximately 216 million compared to Kreotopia's 143 million. The Peoples Republic also possesses a larger military of around 3.3 million personnel, while Kreotopia possesses a military force of a slightly smaller numbering 2.9 million personnel. Despite these facts, Kreotopia has a larger economy compared to it's larger neighbor.

The actions of Konstantinus shocked many nations in United Valhaven, many of which are allies with Kreotopia. Some of he first nations to come to Kreotopia's defense were Neo-Liberalis, Flanders-Holland, and Northdeigo. All nations have put their Armed Forces on high alert due to the crisis. This includes mobilization of units in defense of Kreotopia. Neo-Liberalis already has 56,000 combat ready troops in the Baltic area, further hints of deployment to the area have come from Northdeigo.

President Josiah Jones in a statement to the press has authorized the deployment of around 12,000 troops to Kreotopia and strongly condemned the actions of the Peoples Republic. The deployment includes the reserve support of Devontan air and naval assets that will be stationed in Flanders-Holland. A unspecified number of units have been placed on alert do to the crisis, their alert status will allow them to deploy anywhere at fast notice if war was is to break out. This comes days after official winter military exercises began with allied nations around United Valhaven.

The Devontan allied nation of Neo Phoenicia has asked all nations to use as much restraint as possible in the current crisis at hand, a similar message was given by Devontan President Josiah Jones later on saying; "Though the actions of the People's Republic of Konstantinus are irrepressible and have moved the region closer to conflict, we must not forget to use restraint and keep diplomatic channels with the People's Republic open to avoid mass conflict". He would go further saying the emergency Devontan deployments will only be used in case of a imminent or direct attack was to be conducted on Kreotopia. A move to reassure the nation of Devontan support in case of any foreign invasion.

Reporter Joseph Nolan has an answer. Here is his answer: "Well it is obvious. This ultimatum has no effect on us regardless of how close Konstantinus is to us. Now, seeing as Kreotopia is not even on our list of allies, we need to ensure our ally Konstantinus has a friend in the region who can help protect from the 'world police' around us. We need to continue trade with them and begin slowing trade with other nations in the world to show that Strag can play the same game. I am most likely going to get hate from this, but guess what, I don't care. If other nations are preparing troop mobilizations, then we should do the same!

The government in Fergana-Ryr has confirmed that the oil rig was destroyed by a Georgian state sponsored terrorists in an attempt to take down Ryrgistani oil production. This morning another attack was prevented at an oil field outside Ashgabat by the same Georgian group. The Georgian government has received our demands and is yet to respond. As of yet, the Georgian Ambassador is yet to leave the Presidential Palace.

The threat of war continues for Kreotopia as they continue to move troops to the border they share with Konstantinus. Several other countries have sent troops over to Kreotopia to help them if the need arises. "This is becoming an international crisis" President Derek Lyell said at a morning press conference. "We will not tolerate these threats and will do what is necessary to protect the country". A regional coalition has already been put together to combat the threats.

Announcement: Government Unveils New Extra-National Cooperation Program
Foreign governments may now apply for permanent military bases within CNP borders

Early in the afternoon the CNP Defense Ministry announced a new program, by which allied or friendly foreign governments may apply to construct military bases on Neo Phoenician soil, known as the Allied Reach Initiative (ARI). The program seeks to "expand the capabilities of Neo Phoenicia and its allies to cooperate and conduct operations" by increasing the reach of friendly nations in conducting military and humanitarian efforts. The process consists of a nation first applying for a base (army, navy, or air force) via communique (TG) with the Neo Phoenician Foreign Ministry, the application then is reviewed and approved or denied by both the Ministry of Defense and a parliamentary subcommittee. Admiral Nicholas Karkhov of the NPN 2nd fleet called this "a great opportunity to foster new and strengthen old bonds of friendship between other nations," in a phone interview from Trondsford, the 2nd fleet winter headquarters. This announcement comes following the first participant in the program, the United States of Devonta, receiving approval for construction of a submarine base on Aegea Major starting next month.

The timing of this announcement coincides with the recent Kreotopia-Konstantanius affair, which has led the government to allow multiple nations usage of its ports and airbases near the baltic as they deploy troops to the region. "We wish to assist our allies in their endeavors but also wish to avoid a conflict in the region as much as possible," an earlier statement from King Fyodorov insisted, stressing the need to avoid any further military buildup beyond "necessary precautions" in order to prevent the situation devolving into an armed conflict or "cold war of sorts." The ARI will not take into account any actions taken by nations during the past few days when assessing the eligibility of a nation for the program, reaffirming the nation's commitment to "friendly relations with all parties and a hope for a peaceful resolution."

The ARI, though mostly well received, was not without its share of critics, Major General Philip Michaels was adamant in his opposition to a protocol that would "open the door to the destruction of our national sovereignty." Michaels and men who share his position believe that extra-national militaries have no place on Neo Phoenician soil and bring our nation one step closer to becoming a puppet to treaty organizations and international governing bodies. The general is a stout critic of many aspects of the national government and a leader in the significant minority calling for a shift to the right in the government's policies. It is too early to tell at this time the impact or degree of success of the program, but for now much of the public seems content in its provisions.

Further sparring has occurred between Ryrgistan and Georgia UV since the tragic murder of 400 oil rig workers in the Sea of Ryrgistan. 3 Ryrgistani Su-34s skirting Georgian airspace were fired at by ground locations prompting the fighter-bomber jets to strike the positions and causing major damage. Since then Georgia has struck another oil rig causing substantial damage and a missile has also landed in an oil field south of the port of Turkmenbashi. The current escalation is only the continuation of high tensions between both nations as Georgia refuse to compensate any damages due to the attack on Ryrgistani assets. Presidential-General Jon continues to press his demands to Georgia. The longer this crisis continues without solution the more likely it will escalate further and lead to more casualties. In other news, the Georgian ambassador is still yet to have left the Presidential Palace.

Segennea to host Syrian refugees, Queen Eleanor says
The Queen spoke last night in a primetime public address to the nation. She reiterated the country's sympathies to the people of France as they recover from the terrorist attacks that rocked their city on Nov. 13th. She also praised the work of the international coalition battling the Islamic State (IS) and the work they have done to combat the terror group.

"We cannot stand by and watch as innocent men, women, and children are slaughtered by the Islamic State. Indeed, we cannot stand by and watch as countless countries around the world refuse refuge to Syrians because of where they are from. It is a humanitarian crisis and a tragedy. After her speech, the Queen was asked if she believes the Islamic State will infiltrate Segennea under the guise of refugees escaping IS. Protests have already begun in front of Government House. Most are simply demanding Queen Eleanor reverse her position, but a group of protesters who call themselves Segennae for Safety and Protection Against Islam Terror want something else.

The recent unwarranted aggression by Georgian forces on Ryrgistani civilian and military assets in the Ryrgistani Sea area is a clear attempt of establishing a hegemony over the sea. Once again today Georgia has continued to show lack of restraint by targeting a coast guard base north of Turkmenbashi killing 8 personnel. This is the second missile strike near Turkmenbashi and local authorities have been asking for the government to retaliate against Georgia. In Fergana-Ryr the Foreign Office has declared that Georgia has until 6GMT on Monday the 23rd of November to respond to the demands outlined earlier in the week by Presidential-General Jon. The government has disclosed part of these demands which include paying reparations for the destroyed oil rig and now the damaged coast guard base, compensation to the families of the deceased. We have been informed that there will also be economic punishments to discourage future behavior and possible handing over of Georgian mines. Georgian state media has been reported to have accused Ryrgistan of unfair accustations against the nation for the actions of certain groups within the nation which Georgia claims rather falsely have no links to the government. They also have outrageously accused the Presidential-General of killing the Georgian ambassador to Ryrgistan. In response to this Presidential-General Jon was seen standing with the Georgian ambassador on the balcony of the Presidential Palace. He said,"I am slightly hurt that Georgia would think I would hurt a guest in our nation. Since they have such little trust in our civilization perhaps this proof of life is required to placate these barbaric warmongers who have already kill over 400 innocent Ryrgistanians. I hope Georgia makes the right choice and takes measures to stop their attacks on our soil."

In a recent development, there has been an unconfirmed report of shots fired near the residence of the royal family. Sources say they heard what sounded like automatic weapons, one even saying he saw a military transport moving up a side street. These reports are not yet corroborated and may yet be some kind of preparation for celebrations later today, but there is a report of emergency vehicles moving towards the government district.

Reports of gunfire in the government district confirmed. Military vehicles have been spotted moving through the streets of the capitol, and barricades have been set up along several roads leading to the city center. A subscriber has alleged that the military vehicles moving into the center seem to be firing at some of our own men. This report is not yet confirmed.

E[size=120]arly this morning shots rang out across three major cities: Sur, Trondsford, and Krasgorod. Much of the circumstances surrounding these events is still very unclear, and there is much discrepancy among sources. The attacks seem to be centered around the government district in the three cities, with reports of military forces fighting on the streets against unclear opposition. A short video shows what appears to be Neo Phoenician soldiers lining up masked, apparently uniformed personnel and moving them into a military prison transport. It is unclear who these assailants are, but the author of the film insists that he saw Neo Phoenician forces engaging in combat with other Neo Phoenician soldiers, though other sources do not corroborate this. It appears from the content of the video that the fighting in Sur has been suppressed in the western government district, but automatic weapons could be heard in the background along with what sounded like a tank rolling through the streets. Military barricades have been confirmed to be in place in the city and earlier reports of shots and explosions at the Sur Naval Yard have since ceased as our own reporter, Jan Lervick, went to investigate the scene himself and reported no gunfire. This is turning out to be a chaotic day for our nation's 300th anniversary.

Multiple citizens report hearing the sound of a missile, then seeing a squadron of unidentified planes firing on the air patrol that was providing airspace security detail for today's festivities. This comes with additional reports of large military convoys flooding into Sur, Trondsford, Krasgorod, and Diacletia. It is still unclear who these jets belong to, why they could slip past our airspace, or why the military has remained silent over these terrifying two hours. More on the Sur story as it develops.

Developing Story: Krasgorod Naval Base, home to the CNP 2nd fleet, rang out with a deafening explosion aboard the NPS Dragonfly, the second largest aircraft carrier in the navy earlier today. The ship, anchored out in the harbor for planned festivities, can currently be seen from land as the massive plume of smoke that enveloped its deck and bridge, has since died down somewhat and it would appear that multiple attack helicopters have surrounded the ship for unknown reasons. Strangely, no rescue operation has been mounted and the base itself has remained strangely silent. It is possible, but not confirmed, that this could be connected to the events unfolding in Sur currently.

Continuing in our report of the chaos that has engulfed the nation, we can confirm the following for those readers paying attention to today's events:
1) This appears to be been some kind of coup attempt, it is unknown whether those now occupying the capitol are the instigators or not...
2) Martial law has been declared in Sur other cities as well, the military is ordering citizens to stay in their homes.
3) The military has begun to shut down media outlets. Multiple national and local news stations have been taken off air.
4) There are groups of armed and uniformed men with insignia not belonging to any nation cooperating with the military in its conduct of mass arrests of government and senior military officials.
5) A helicopter convoy was seen flying out of the royal residences, narrowly escaping heavy anti air fire.
6) Police and security forces appear to have been overwhelmed and have capitulated or escaped the fighting in many major cities.
7) Perhaps the most troubling of these developments are reports of an unfamiliar flag raised over the parliament building.
